Solar-driven water splitting is one of greenways for massive conversion of sustainable and nonpolluting energy applied to meet global energy crisis. Photocatalysts are greatly explored to improve photoelectrochemical (PEC) water oxidation efficiency. Bismuth vanadate (BiVO 4) has been extensively used as photocatalyst for water oxidation, but its passive oxygen evolution kinetics and charge carrier recombination lead to inferior PEC performance under light illumination. Tuning interfacial charge separation and transfer is an eminent way to stimulate water oxidation characteristics of BiVO 4. Herein, a BiVO 4 /zinc cobalt metal-organic framework (ZnCoMOF) composite is firstly proposed as photocatalyst for water oxidation. ZnCoMOF nanosheets are loaded on BiVO 4 surface as co-catalyst via solvothermal process. Effects of solvothermal duration and mole ratio of zinc and cobalt are investigated. The optimal BiVO 4 /ZnCoMOF electrode shows a photocurrent density of 3.08 mA cm−2 at 1.23 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE), which is 4.21 times greater than that of BiVO 4 electrode. The redox properties of high valence metal ions in ZnCoMOF are used to store photoexcited holes and transfer them to the water oxidation process in the BiVO 4 /ZnCoMOF system. This work demonstrates that PEC performance of BiVO 4 can be largely improved via controlling water oxidation kinetics and refining charge recombination and transport properties. Lead ions (Pb2+) are heavy metal environmental pollutants that can significantly impact biological health. In this study, the synthesis of a ternary nanocomposite, ErVO 4 /P@g-C 3 N 4 /SnS 2 , was achieved using a combination of hydrothermal synthesis and mechanical grinding. The as-fabricated photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor was found to be an ideal substrate for Pb2+ detection with high sensitivity and reliability. The ErVO 4 /P@g-C 3 N 4 /SnS 2 /FTO was selected as the substrate because of its remarkable and reliable photocurrent response. The Pb2+ sensor exhibited a low detection limit of 0.1 pM and a broad linear range of 0.002–0.2 nM. Moreover, the sensor exhibited outstanding stability, selectivity, and reproducibility. In real-time applications, it exhibited stable recovery and a low relative standard deviation, ensuring reliable and accurate measurements. The as-prepared PEC sensor was highly stable for the detection of Pb2+ in different water samples. This promising characteristic highlights its significant potential for use in the detection of environmental pollutants. This study involved the synthesis of a Ce 2 Sn 2 O 7 /Ag 3 PO 4 /V@g-C 3 N 4 composite through hydrothermal methods, followed by mechanical grinding. The resulting heterojunction exhibited improved catalytic activity under visible light by effectively separating electrons and holes (e−/h+). The degradation of Tartrazine (TTZ) reached 93.20% within 50 min by employing a ternary composite at a concentration of 10 mg L−1, along with 6 mg L−1 of PS. The highest pseudo-first-order kinetic constant (0.1273 min−1 and R2 = 0.951) was observed in this system. The dual Z-scheme heterojunction is developed by Ce 2 Sn 2 O 7 , Ag 3 PO 4 , and V@g-C 3 N 4 , and it may increase the visible light absorption range while also accelerating charge carrier transfer and separation between catalysts. The analysis of the vulnerability positions and degradation pathways of TTZ involved the utilization of density functional theory (DFT) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to examine the intermediate products. Therefore, Ce 2 Sn 2 O 7 /Ag 3 PO 4 /V@g-C 3 N 4 is an excellent ternary nanocomposite for the remediation of pollutants. The invention of antibiotics revolutionized modern medicine, yet their unchecked usage poses risks to the environment and human health. Nilutamide (NLT), an anti-androgen drug for prostate cancer, undergoes hepatic metabolism, producing harmful by-products. Recent studies have detected elevated NLT levels in ecosystems, demanding comprehensive monitoring. Electrochemical sensors have evolved, offering compact, sensitive, and selective detection. Integration of nanotechnology has further enhanced these sensors, particularly graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) and pyrochlore oxides like erbium stannate (Er 2 Sn 2 O 7). This study focuses on fabricating a GNR/Er 2 Sn 2 O 7 nanocomposite-modified electrode and proposing its application for NLT detection in water and human samples. The nanocomposite's hierarchical arrangement, facilitated by synergistic effects and quantum confinement within the hybrid heterojunction, enhances the electrode modifier's activation, enabling the detection of NLT with an outstanding limit of detection (LOD) as well as a wide linear range and appreciable recoveries in real samples. Herein, we fabricated gold surface-coated iron titanium core-shell (FeTi@Au) nanoparticles (NPs) with conjugation of angiopep-2 (ANG) (FeTi@Au-ANG) NPs for targeted delivery and improved NPs penetration by receptor-mediated endocytosis to achieve hyperthermic treatment of gliomas. The synthesized "core-shell" FeTi@Au-ANG NPs exhibited spherical in shape with around 16 nm particle size and increased temperature upon alternating magnetic field (AMF) stimulation, rendering them effective for localized hyperthermic therapy of cancer cells. Effective targeted delivery of FeTi@Au-ANG NPs was demonstrated in vitro by improved transport and cellular uptake, and increased apoptosis in glioma cells (C6) compared with normal fibroblast cells (L929). FeTi@Au-ANG NPs exhibited higher deposition in brain tissues and a superior therapeutic effect in an orthotopic intracranial xenograft mouse model. Taken together, our data indicate that FeTi@Au-ANG NPs hold significant promise as a targeted delivery strategy for glioma treatment using hyperthermia. The development of effective theranostic agents capable of crossing the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and delivering therapeutics to gliomas remains a significant challenge facing targeted glioma therapy. We fabricated gold coated onto the surface of iron titanium core-shell (FeTi@Au) nanoparticles (NPs) with conjugation of angiopep-2 (ANG) (FeTi@Au-ANG) NPs for targeted delivery to improve hyperthermic treatment of gliomas. Our strategy was to exploit receptor-mediated transcytosis of the ANG ligand and FeTi@Au NPs, which have a considerable level of stability, to keep the particles separated and prevent agglomeration. FeTi@Au-ANG NPs displayed good biocompatibility and have superior capability to kill glioma cells. Additionally, FeTi@Au-ANG NPs exhibited significantly increased T 1 and T 2 relaxivities, which might be used effectively for monitoring biodistribution and diagnostic imaging of pathogenic aspects. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as attractive candidates in cancer theranostics due to their ability to envelop magnetic nanoparticles, resulting in reduced cytotoxicity and high porosity, enabling chemodrug encapsulation. Here, FeAu alloy nanoparticles (FeAu NPs) are synthesized and coated with MIL-100(Fe) MOFs to fabricate FeAu@MOF nanostructures. We encapsulated Doxorubicin within the nanostructures and evaluated the suitability of this platform for medical imaging and cancer theranostics. FeAu@MOF nanostructures (FeAu@MIL-100(Fe)) exhibited superparamagnetism, magnetic hyperthermia behavior and displayed DOX encapsulation and release efficiency of 69.95 % and 97.19 %, respectively, when stimulated with alternating magnetic field (AMF). In-vitro experiments showed that AMF-induced hyperthermia resulted in 90 % HSC-3 oral squamous carcinoma cell death, indicating application in cancer theranostics. Finally, in an in-vivo mouse model, FeAu@MOF nanostructures improved image contrast, reduced tumor volume by 30-fold and tumor weight by 10-fold, which translated to enhancement in cumulative survival, highlighting the prospect of this platform for oral cancer treatment. Metal-organic framework-FeAu NPs (MOF-FeAu) nanostructures are fabricated for hyperthermia-induced cancer treatment and imaging. Different shells of MOF were synthesized using cysteine as a linker. An increase in MOF shell number increased biocompatibility and enhanced chemodrug (doxorubicin) encapsulation.
