35. The current status of apathy in patients with dementia and its factors: A systematic review.

Abstract

• The occurrence of dementia apathy symptoms was affected by 16 factors from three aspects: the individual, the caregiver, and the environment. • This study identified other influencing factors besides the factors of the apathy occurrence model proposed by Massimo, such as nutrition and caregiver emotional expression. • Among the influencing factors, there are more studies on individual factors and less on caregivers and environmental factors. To systematically evaluate the current status of apathy in dementia patients and its associated factors. We searched Chinese and English databases to collect studies on the associated factors of apathy in patients with dementia from inception to March 14, 2023. Two researchers independently screened the literature, evaluated the quality, and extracted the data A total of 20 studies were included, and the incidence of apathy in patients with dementia ranged from 21 % to 90 %. According to the model of apathy proposed by Massimo in 2018, the associated factors were divided into individual factors for dementia patients, caregiver factors, and environmental factors. The individual factors of apathy in patients with dementia mainly include demographic characteristics, the severity of cognitive impairment, a combination of other behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, acute medical problems or adverse drug reactions, unmet needs, and malnutrition. Caregiver factors mainly include emotional expressions of hostility or criticism towards dementia patients and caregivers' expectations for a better life in the future. Environmental factors mainly include too high or too low stimulation and a lack of daytime activities Existing studies have shown that the incidence of apathy in dementia patients is high and is affected by multi-dimensional factors. There are more studies on individual factors in dementia patients and fewer studies on caregivers and environmental factors. 44. Computed Tomography Angiography-Based Thrombus Radiomics for Predicting the Time Since Stroke Onset.

Abstract

The measurement of the time since stroke onset (TSS) is crucial for decision-making in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study assessed the utility of computed tomography angiography (CTA) radiomics features (RFs) to estimate TSS. A total of 221 patients with AIS were enrolled in this retrospective study and were divided into a training group (n = 154) and a test group (n = 67). Thrombi in CTA images were manually outlined using ITK-SNAP. Images were aligned, normalized, and pre-processed to extract RFs. The TSS was calculated as the time from stroke onset to CTA completion. The patients were classified into two groups according to estimated TSS: ≤4.5 and >4.5 hours. A total of 944 RFs were extracted from CTA images. Clinical factors associated with TSS were identified using multivariate logistic regression, and a combined model (clinical data and RFs) was constructed. The predictive value of the models was assessed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The performance of the models was compared using the DeLong test, and clinical utility was evaluated by decision curve analysis. The AUC of the radiomics model was 0.803 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.733-0.873) and 0.803 (95% CI: 0.698-0.908) in the training and test cohorts, respectively. The AUC of the combined model (containing data on age, diabetes, and atrial fibrillation) in the training and test sets was 0.813 (95% CI: 0.750-0.889) and 0.803 (95% CI: 0.699-0.907), respectively. The DeLong test showed no significant difference between the radiomics and combined models. Decision curve analysis showed that both models had clinical utility. CTA-based thrombus radiomics can estimate TSS in patients with AIS. The addition of clinical data to the model does not improve predictive performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

An Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass with an ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient (55 × 10−7 K−1) was developed. The EYAP5 glass (80Al(PO 3) 3 –20AlF 3 -1.5Er 2 O 3 -7.5Yb 2 O 3 , mol%) exhibits excellent spectral properties, thermomechanical properties, and chemical durability. Compared with traditional high phosphorus-doped silica glasses, EYAP5 glass achieves a higher Er3+/Yb3+ doping concentration and energy transfer efficiency from Yb3+ to Er3+ ions. Meanwhile, the absorption spectra, emission spectra, and fluorescence decay were systematically measured and compared in the temperature range of 300–480 K. Unlike the cases at 915 and 974 nm, the absorption cross section at 940 nm (∼0.21 pm2) has the highest temperature stability, which facilitates the stable operation of the 1.5 μm high-average-power laser. Furthermore, the temperature rises increase the energy transfer efficiency from Yb3+ to Er3+ ions, effectively suppressing the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) at ∼1 μm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
