Abstract This paper presents a comparative study related to the impacts of the operating parameters. A structural design and modeling approach of the polymer electrolyte membrane (PEMFC) fuel cell is presented. The purpose of this study is to review many control and clarification strategies for fuel cell components that have been conducted by several researchers for improving the performance. The models that have been studied and compared to literature models appear clearly the dynamics of the PEM fuel cell. Consequently, the fuel cell performance is related to several parameters, which are (δ , D H 2 , D O 2 , I 0 , I lim , r). A simulation by MATLAB software is used to highlighting the powerful model compared to the mentioned models. The simulation results showed that many parameters change under different operating conditions such as, pressure, temperature and humidity. Finally, an accurate study shown that model 02 is the best model with an R2 value of 0.9994. This model has demonstrated a close agreement with the experimental data provided by a real fuel cell in the literature. This study is based on method of storing the part of renewable energy in the hydrogen form for using in a fuel cell at the absence of solar radiation due to overcast day or in the night. In addition, the system advantage don't need a batteries compared with other systems. The present work is compared energy potential of the wind and solar with the results of hydrogen production and to address the various obstacles to study and evaluation. This work is assessment the renewable resources in various sites of Algeria, especially in Adrar area which is one regions of the high solar energy in the world, where the radiation rates exceed more than 2300 k W h / m 2 per year, the area is also characterized by high wind power. In fact, by these two energy sources (solar and wind) that it characterized by Adrar, it's interesting to combine electrical producing energy and hydrogen production. The studies indicate that there are the meteorological factors related to the nature of site (irradiation, temperature and wind speed) are linked to the generation of electricity by renewable energy. The results obtained showing that the hydrogen production related to the solar radiation values, where southern of Algeria has more hydrogen potential compared with the northern. The simulation results show that the energy supplied by a photovoltaic module type UDTS 50 can supply energy for ten electrolyzer cells which are connected in series with this module. Intermediate band solar cell based on ZnTe:O with an efficiency of 17.46 % has been optimized using solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS). The impacts of defect densities in the band gap of the absorber layer, layer thicknesses and temperature variation on the intermediate band solar cell (IBSC) output were widely simulated. Quantum efficiencies of the intermediate band solar cell were simulated at different temperatures above room temperature. The simulation results indicate that the quantum efficiencies of the ZnTe:O devices decrease with the increasing temperature above room temperature. An intermediate band solar based on ZnTe:O showed a significant spectral response of below band gap photons, and demonstrated an increase of more than 100 % in power conversion efficiency in comparison to the ZnTe solar cell without oxygen doping. • The effect of weather conditions on solar radiation is studied. • We propose six models to predict daily global solar radiation. • From temperature, we can know solar radiation at a particular point on the surface of the Earth. Under weather conditions, the relationship between solar radiation and climatology of desert region is identified. Six models of global solar radiation are selected and studied during period of four years. This paper is based on solar radiation measurements in Research Unit in Renewable Energy in Saharan Medium (URER-MS) at various weather conditions. The Studies have shown that solar radiation can be calculated in terms of ambient temperature. Consequently, from temperature measurements, we know how much solar energy is received per unit area to estimate the solar radiation available at a given point on the Earth's surface. In addition, it was concluded that the impact of dust depending on varies quality of the soil, and the obtained results show that the model (M4) presents the best performance with an R2 value of 0.87. This work aims to improve the existing monitoring systems MS for two grid-connected PV stations GCPVS of URERMS ADRAR, to eliminate its limitations. This improvement consists of developing an MS which is used for two PV stations with different configurations. This MS contains new LabVIEW-based monitoring software for visualizing real-time measured data and evaluating GCPVS performance. In addition, it illustrates the 2D and 3D real-time relationships of PV system parameters, which allow us to understand the dynamic behavior of PV system components. This developed monitoring software synchronizes also the various data acquisition units DAU of GCPVS, allowing simultaneous data access. To perform a reliable performance analysis and a comparative study of different GCPVS based on accurate measurements, the sensor's calibration is performed with its DAU. The MS autonomy is ensured by integrating developed PV-UPS. A graphical user interface is provided for the evaluation of PV-UPS performance. Meteorological variables have an important effect on the performance of a grid-connected photovoltaic station, in this paper, the impact of meteorological variables on the 6 mWp grid-connected photovoltaic station in the desert of Adrar has been explored through performance assessment and output power forecasting. The impact of the meteorological variables on performance parameters has been investigated by performing interdependence and correlation studies. A clear interdependence between some variables has been observed, but the complete separation between each variable correlation effect has proven to be a difficult task. A combination of random forest method and pre-processing techniques namely feature selection and Principal component analysis has been developed in order to predict power production using meteorological variables as inputs.
