With the increasing negative effects of fossil fuel combustion, many countries have paid more attention on supporting environmentally friendly energy generation, particularly renewable and sustainable energy sources (RES). However, renewables still cannot economically compete with fossil-fuels and are facing new challenges. Appropriate electricity pricing mechanism plays a vital role on mitigating the stress of limited fossil fuels and can promote renewable energy consumption. As one major type of renewable energy, wind power has been globally promoted. In order to promote the application of wind power, appropriate wind power prices (WPP) should be established by considering the local conditions. This paper targets such a field and conducts a bibliometric and network analysis based on the data from Scopus. The results show that the numbers of total related publications are gradually increasing, with the US as the leading country. European countries also have outstanding achievements. Moreover, both the most cited articles and keywords distribution offer future research directions. In general, this study provides valuable insights to both wind power researchers and practitioners. Abstract: China is facing a number of challenges such as electricity supply shortages, excessive consumption of fossil fuels and environmental pollution. As a renewable energy, wind power plays a vital role in mitigating these issues. With its unique geographical location and rich resources, China has produced a wind power industry that has achieved rapid growth. However, the complex Chinese market environment presents significant challenges to the industry. This research has adopted a strength, weakness, opportunity and threat analysis approach to examine both the internal and external factors that affect the competitiveness of the wind power industry in China. An extensive and critical review of a wide range of literature (including academic papers, industry reports, statistical data, relevant regulations and policy documents) was conducted. As a result, 19 factors were identified. These factors form part of an integrated framework that provides a useful tool for both policy makers and industry to gain a better understanding of what affects the sustainable development of the wind power industry in China. The results also provide a useful reference for foreign firms that intend to explore the Chinese wind power market. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The introduction of renewable energy sources, particularly wind power, is limited by their dependence on weather conditions and by the difficulty of storing surplus energy for use at times when production is low. One effective way of tackling the energy storage problem is to minimise the need for storage, i.e. to switch from a system based on producing electricity in response to the unpredictable whims of demand to one in which consumption adapts to supply. Demand can be managed indirectly via the sending of price/consumption volume signals. This paper presents a mathematical model for forecasting the aggregated electricity demand of a group of domestic consumers signed up to an incentive-based demand management programme. Under this programme consumers receive signals that offer financial incentives for limiting their volume of consumption at time intervals when system peak demand is forecast. The resulting optimisation model is a mixed-integer linear programming problem implemented in JAVA and solved using free software. This model is applied to a case study in which the objective is to limit consumption by a population of 15932 consumers from 15:00 to 17:45 on a specific summer day. Abstract: Increasing levels of intermittent renewables, especially wind power, in energy systems require accurate temporal characterisation of the resources’ availability at seasonal, daily and hourly scales. This is crucial for isolated energy systems, where increasing wind power penetration is limited due to costly backup power generation requirements. In the case studies presented in this paper, the energy systems of two islands are simulated using a new methodology for synthetic wind speed scenarios including daily wind patterns. A trade-off analysis was conducted in terms of surplus wind power and renewables penetration rate, with the objective of supplying decision support on wind turbine placement. Results show that there may be a significant advantage in locating future wind parks on sites where wind speed patterns better match electricity demand patters, rather than just choosing a site with the highest mean wind speed, but only if the annual mean wind speed is still sufficiently high to make the investment economically feasible. Abstract: In recent years, the renewable energy such as wind energy or solar energy is well developed in China, but the green electricity generated from these sources is still difficult to operate commercially. To promote the development of green electricity market, this paper takes Jiangsu Province as examples and explores the consumption mode of green electricity. Through questionnaires design and investigation, we find that information dissermination, green value and bandwage effect play an important role in people''s subsriciption intention, while the actual purchase behavior is mainly drived by subsriciption intention, rather than payment capacity. It implies that we should strengthen the knowledge popular of green electricity through school education, media dissernmination and the spread of green knowledge in the community. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
