Abstract

A study was conducted to determine if the heat shock protein Hsp90 or another constituent of Hsp90-containing multichaperone complexes can be considered as major repressors of heat shock transcription factor HSF1. In this study, an in vitro system that recapitulates the initial step of HSF activation in vivo was made. Results confirmed the ability of Hsp90 in functioning as HSF1 repressor.
