This bibliometric review analyzes the evolution of telepharmacy research, significantly amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. By employing bibliometric analysis, the study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state and emerging trends in telepharmacy. This approach helps in identifying key areas of growth, predominant themes, and potential gaps in the literature. Utilizing data from 330 papers (1981–2023) sourced from Scopus and analyzed with Bibliometrix™, this study applies both performance analysis and science mapping methods to examine the telepharmacy literature. The findings reveal a consistent growth in telepharmacy research, with an 8.07 % average annual growth rate. Performance analysis highlights key authors, influential works, and leading journals and countries in the field. Document co-citation analysis identifies four developmental phases of telepharmacy: emergence, take-off, expansion, and future trajectory by uncovering the intellectual structure of the field. Co-words analysis elucidates evolving conceptual structures and significant subfields over time. These findings serve to inform practitioners and researchers about the evolving landscape of telepharmacy, guiding future research and practice in this increasingly important field. This method not only captures the potential linkages between patents and papers, but also reveals consolidated interactions and rapid changes in S&T knowledge interaction. Systemic financial risk is the risk that causes great losses to financial institutions or losses to the whole financial system. Systemic risks are contagious and non-dispersible, with a wide spread and great destructive power to the economy. With CNKI, CSSCI and WOS databases as data sources, this paper makes a visual analysis of domestic systemic financial risk research from 2010 to 2020 by means of scientific measurement and knowledge map analysis, With the help of Citespace V, it explores its research hotspots, combs its evolution path and analyzes its research trends, on this basis, it constructs a systematic integration framework, aiming at promoting the further development of systemic financial risk research. The findings of this paper are as follows: Systematic financial risk research is in a vigorous development period, and more attention is paid to the literature research of "risk measurement" and "macro-prudence"; Domestic research focuses on financial risks and financial supervision, among which Internet finance, supply-side reform and real economy are the frontier hot spots of systemic financial risks. In the field of scientometrics, the principal purpose for author co-citation analysis (ACA) is to map knowledge domains by quantifying the relationship between co-cited author pairs. However, traditional ACA has been criticized since its input is insufficiently informative by simply counting authors' co-citation frequencies. To address this issue, this paper introduces a new method that reconstructs the raw co-citation matrices by regarding document unit counts and keywords of references, named as Document- and Keyword-Based Author Co-Citation Analysis (DKACA). Based on the traditional ACA, DKACA counted co-citation pairs by document units instead of authors from the global network perspective. Moreover, by incorporating the information of keywords from cited papers, DKACA captured their semantic similarity between co-cited papers. In the method validation part, we implemented network visualization and MDS measurement to evaluate the effectiveness of DKACA. Results suggest that the proposed DKACA method not only reveals more insights that are previously unknown but also improves the performance and accuracy of knowledge domain mapping, representing a new basis for further studies. The proliferation of social media has drawn attention to social network addictions. Studies on social media addictions have been emerging across different fields, including psychology, behavioral science, and computer science. To investigate the evolution and development of the research on social media addiction (SMA), this paper constituted a bibliometric analysis of 396 articles published from 2011 to 2021. Through a cluster analysis of keywords, we identified five SMA research focuses: the influences of negative and dark personality traits (the dark triad); adolescents mental and physical health problems caused by fear of missing out; self-control under habit-driven addiction; excessive social media use induced by social anxiety; the health and behaviors in cross-addictions. We also find that the collaborative networks among authors and institutions were concentrated without significantly groupings, indicating the collaborative efficiency in SMA studies while the concentration may lead the research topics to converge. Our results show that researchers have built branches of theories to explain the prefactors of SMA, while most theories tend to pathologize SMA with personal prefactors. In the future, researchers need to find more factors other than personal characteristics in order to increase the connections of SMA research with the other fields. This paper provides an objective, systematic and holistic review of the sharing economy (SE) academic literature to uncover the theoretical foundations and key themes underlying the field by using co-citation analysis and content analysis. Sixty-six publications on sharing economy with ten papers related to tourism and hospitality from 2010 to 2015 (inclusive) have been identified. This paper revealed three broad areas of foci with sharing economy research in general: (1) SE’s business models and its impacts, (2) nature of SE, and (3) SE’s sustainability development as well as two areas of foci in tourism and hospitality specifically: (1) SE’s impacts on destinations and tourism services (2) SE’s impacts on tourists. The sharing economy has a strong intellectual tradition from lifestyle and social movement field, consumption practice and sharing paradigm. This paper presents a more robust framework and holistic understanding of the sharing economy field and calls for a new theory-informed research agenda on sharing economy to coalesce multi-level perspectives. Leveraging state-of-the-art scientometric and analytical techniques, this paper provides a diachronic, quantitative, systematic overview of English-for-specific-purposes (ESP) research, as represented by the publications cited in two flagship journals of the field from 1980 to 2018. A co-citation analysis of 1092 main articles and their 25,147 unique references have identified 11 major clusters of co-cited references, representing the field's major areas of research. These clusters are mapped onto three evolutionary stages of the field, namely the initial conceptualizing stage (1970s–1990s) centering on needs analysis, the maturing stage (1990s–2000s) characterized by the development of major methodological approaches (e.g., genre-based, corpus-based, contextual, and critical approaches), and the flourishing stage (2000s-) ushering in a diversity of research interests (e.g., move analysis, cross-disciplinary and cross-linguistic variation, lexical bundles, vocabulary lists, metadiscourse, and academic writing in a global context). The co-citation analysis has also identified 52 landmark studies, 11 of which experienced recent citation bursts, indicating current research interests of the field. In recent years, various studies focused on evaluating and valuing patents intensively and sought answers about the economic value, strength, quality of patents' promise or possess. This paper investigates the underlying knowledge structure and the evolution of patent valuation methods under two main topics: quantitative and qualitative. We searched for peer-reviewed journals from Scopus. After screening results according to relevance, the core paper's references are backtracked, which points out that some essential studies evolved from first tear grey literature. Our review resulted in 129 documents between 1981 and 2021. We applied bibliometric techniques and co-citation network analysis. Results indicate that scientific production on patent valuation is gradually increasing over the last two decades. Co-citation analysis shows our sample is profoundly related, and authors in the same field of expertise and their working specialties are very similar. We observed that a small portion of the literature deals with the patent's technological readiness level while selecting valuation methods throughout the study. Abstract: E-Science is the “science of this age”; it is realized through collaborative scientific enquiry which requires utilization of non-trivial amounts of computing resources and massive data sets. In this paper we explore the e-Science knowledge base through co-citation analysis of extant literature. Our objective is to use the knowledge domain visualization software CiteSpace to identifying the turning point articles and authors. In other words, our analysis is not solely based on tabulating the frequency of co-cited articles and authors, but the identification of landmark articles and authors irrespective of their co-citation count. The dataset for this analysis is downloaded from the ISI Web of Science and includes approx. 1000 articles. It is expected that this paper will be an important source of reference for academics and researchers working in the area of e-Science and its three technology enablers - grid computing, desktop grids and cloud computing. • We propose a reproducible methodology to map scientific knowledge in Wikipedia. • We analyze how scientific knowledge is established in the field of the Humanities. • The citation average to Humanities articles in Wikipedia is lower than the general. • Of the 25 most cited journals on Wikipedia, none is open access. • History is the key specialty that connects with other areas of humanistic knowledge. The present study aims to establish a valid method by which to apply the co-citation methodology to Wikipedia article references and, subsequently, to map these relationships between scientific papers. This method, originally applied to scientific literature, will be transferred to the digital environment of collective knowledge generation. To this end, a dataset containing Wikipedia references collected from Altmetric and Scopus' Journal Metrics journals has been used. The articles have been categorized according to the disciplines and specialties established in the All Science Journal Classification (ASJC). They have also been grouped by journal of publication. A set of articles in the Humanities, comprising 25555 Wikipedia articles with 41655 references to 32245 resources, has been selected. Abstract Bibliometrics is a powerful tool for analyzing knowledge domains and revealing their cognitive-epistemological structure. Different mathematical models and statistical techniques have been proposed and tested to carry out bibliometric analyses and demonstrate their effectiveness in uncovering how fields of research are intellectually structured. These include two hybrid techniques that allow clusters of related documents obtained from a co-citation analysis to be labeled using textual data. This paper reports on the findings of a bibliometric study in which these hybrid techniques are combined to: (1) build and visualize the network of publications shaping the intellectual structure of the smart city research field by considering the first two decades of literature dealing with this subject; (2) map the clusters of thematically-related publications; and (3) reveal the emerging development paths of smart cities that each thematic cluster represents and the strategic principles they embody. The five development paths which the analysis uncovers and the strategic principles each stands on are then compared by reviewing the most recent literature on smart cities. Overall, this bibliometric study offers a systematic review of the research on smart cities produced since 1992 and helps bridge the division affecting this research area, demonstrating that it is caused by the dichotomous nature of the development paths of smart cities that each thematic cluster relates to and the strategic principles they in turn support. In this paper, we conduct a bibliometric analysis of 3490 platform papers which appear in top business, economics, and management journals from 1990 to 2019. Influential journals, institutions, landmark papers, citation bursts are identified from the analysis. In addition to scholars from economics, strategy, and technology management communities, scholars from marketing, information systems, and operations management also participate in platform research. Moreover, the results indicate that the research focus of platform evolves from supply-side product development, product design and open innovation, goes through demand-side two-sided markets, and centers on sharing economy in recent years. The viewpoint of platform research experiences a conversion from a research object to a research context. We further develop a future research agenda for platforms, the associated technologies and social impacts. The past half-century has witnessed fast development in the field of fuzzy theory (FT), however, few researches have focused on mapping the development of this area in China. Based on the samples of 12,936 publications authored by Chinese scholars on FT researches during the past 30 years, this paper intends to explore the patterns and dynamics by analyzing the geographic distribution of publications, international collaboration, research hot spot, subject categories and journals, and publication contributors. The results indicate that the scientific publications are highly unbalanced at regional levels in China, and the USA is China's most important partner in FT cooperative researches. Collaborations are not indispensable for high-quality research outputs in FT area. The existing researches in the field of FT from Chinese scholars focus primarily on Computer Science and Engineering. The emerging trends of FT researches from Chinese scholars have shifted away from basic FT researches to the applications, such as the areas of decision making, optimization, modeling and design. Micro-mobility is increasingly recognised as a promising mode of urban transport, particularly for its potential to reduce private vehicle use for short-distance travel. Despite valuable research contributions that represent fundamental knowledge on this topic, today's body of research appears quite fragmented in relation to the role of micro-mobility as a transformative solution for meeting sustainability outcomes in urban environments. This paper consolidates knowledge on the topic, analyses past and on-going research developments, and provides future research directions by using a rigorous and auditable systematic literature review methodology. To achieve these objectives, the paper analysed 328 journal publications from the Scopus database covering the period between 2000 and 2020. A bibliographic analysis was used to identify relevant publications and explore the changing landscape of micro-mobility research. The study constructed and visualised the literature's bibliometric networks through citations and co-citations analyses for authors, articles, journals and countries. The findings showed a consistent spike in recent research outputs covering the sustainability aspects of micro-mobility reflecting its importance as a low-carbon and transformative mode of urban transport. The co-citation analysis, in particular, helped to categorise the literature into four main research themes that address benefits, technology, policy and behavioural mode-choice categories where the majority of research has been focused during the analysis period. For each cluster, inductive reasoning is used to discuss the emerging trends, barriers as well as pathways to overcome challenges to wide-scale deployment. This paper examines the research hotspots and evolution trends of cryptocurrency-related papers published between 2009 and 2019, and identify the important journals, scholars and research findings by bibliometric analysis. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in supply chain management (SCM) has gained an increasing research attention in recent years. Extant studies have discussed stakeholder interests, performance evaluation, ethical sourcing, and sustainable production. The purpose of this paper is to develop a systematic study quantitatively depicting the knowledge structure and the intellectual progress of CSR for SCM. This research adopts bibliometric analysis in conjunction with network analysis to systematically evaluate the CSR-related publications for SCM. The analysis involves 628 peer-reviewed articles identified with careful selection of influential work. Data analytic techniques including citation analysis, co-citation analysis and co-word analysis are used. Key findings for researchers include (1) an analytical discussion of the five sub-fields that constitute the intellectual structure of CSR for SCM; (2) Theoretical and conceptual research significantly dominate in this field; (3) The topics of sustainable development and economic and social effects are more frequently discussed among scholars; (4) Key research gaps include lacking of practical and normative modeling research, and considering from the supplier perspectives in emerging economies. Significant surge in gold prices has attracted speculators, investors and intellectuals alike. Factors driving gold prices, the effectiveness of gold price predictions, the economic viability of gold mining, risk management using gold, and its comparisons against exchange rates and stock prices have been some of the consistent foci of researchers. Applying bibliometrics on 453 top articles published on gold between 1970 and 2021, we present a comprehensive overview of the academic discussions on one of the fast evolving research domains. The smart home penetration rate has grown considerably across the globe. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the trends and patterns in the general smart home research corpus using data from 5167 publications published in the Web of Science indexed sources over 2001–2021. The results show that the volume and impact of studies on smart homes have grown amazingly. Across multiple disciplines, at least 82 % of the research work in this set has been cited at least once. Additionally, China has emerged as a global leader in smart home research publications and influence. The USA has also made a considerable contribution to smart home scholarship. Most of the analyzed research publications are collaborative types. The scholars affiliated with China-based institutions have a close association with those from the USA, Australia, England, and Taiwan in the global network of smart home research papers. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is identified as the leading publisher in this research field. The citation and usage count are found to be positively associated with each other. Intelligent sensors, wireless fidelity, load modeling, real-time systems, and computational modeling are identified as emerging knowledge domains in the field of smart homes. • The scientific literature on smart home has grown remarkably in both volume and importance since the beginning of the 21st century. • We provide a quantitative overview of the trends and patterns in the global knowledge domain of smart home research from a holistic perspective. • The dataset is extended using a comprehensive search strategy for the collection of literature and by covering the most recent period. • A sizable untapped potential exists to carry out more research on smart home. In recent years, intellectual property (IP) has become a crucial aspect in modern management practices, especially for innovative technology-based organizations. Correspondingly, growing numbers of studies are conducted each year to address various aspects of IP management (IPM). Nevertheless, the research field is still relatively fragmented and researchers lack a systematic understanding of the existing body of knowledge. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the underlying knowledge structure and the evolution of IPM research. To accomplish this goal, we analyzed 773 source articles published between 1980 and 2012 using bibliometric techniques including citation and co-citation analysis. We broadly searched for research articles that focused on IP management in the two largest academic databases (Web of Science and Scopus) and manually refined the search results. The results indicate that intellectual property management is a fast-growing research field with theoretical roots in law, economics, and management. Based on the citation data, we identified the most cited studies that form the intellectual core of IPM research. A co-citation diagram was plotted and five main research themes were uncovered. The center of the diagram is formed by studies on the role of IP in improving firms' appropriability. Surrounding the center are studies on the openness of IP strategy and the economic impact of the patent system; the former has become a heated topic over the recent decade, while the latter has lost popularity. Another two groups of studies emerged at the rear of the diagram, namely IP valuation and optimal IP licensing strategy. This paper aims to identify the knowledge creation and dissemination of strategic management (SM) in the hospitality literature using citation and co-citation analysis. A database of 10,782 SM-related articles and 306,701 reference appearances in seven leading hospitality journals over the period 1960–2020 was derived from the Scopus repository. Intellectual mapping of the 100 most-cited SM-related reference appearances was visualized using VOSviewer. The outcomes of this study show that hospitality-focused SM articles outweighed mainstream business-focused SM articles in the hospitality literature. Seven diverse SM research clusters were identified. SM research in the hospitality field is heavily focused on practical implications and relationship testing. As a new and important technology in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), Building Information Modeling (BIM) has witnessed a decade of rapid development. It is highly necessary to analyze the research progress and development trend of BIM. Based on 1369 relevant literatures published and the core database "Web of Science", this study used co-citation analysis, co-word analysis, and cluster analysis to analyze the data and drew the mapping knowledge domains with Citespace software. The results show that BIM research is still in the rapid growth stage. And BIM research is mainly distributed in nine fields. In terms of time sequence, the development of BIM in the past decade developed from data collection to information integration and to knowledge management. The research hotspots are mainly concentrated in eleven directions, which can be further classified into three levels. Over the past two decades, the aviation sector has seen dramatic growth in demand with limited support in terms of supply, due to under-development of the larger airport infrastructure. This has led to congestion and delays at major airports across the world. The topic of 'airport capacity management' (ACM) has thereby attracted considerable scholarly attention. From our review of extant literature, we find an extensive repository of research work related to ACM, vis a vis its inherent role and the expected output. Nevertheless, extant literature has failed to conduct a systematic literature review on ACM in order to understand its evolution over time. Therefore, we analyze ACM literature in detail to grasp and evaluate the work being done thus far, using bibliometric analysis. Our analysis reveals that airport capacity, congestion, competition and ground holding problems are important keywords related to ACM. Further, using co-citation analysis we identify 5 broad clusters and thought pattern of researchers. We also propose a flowchart of literature with major research area related to ACM. This study carried out a bibliometric analysis to critically review the evolution of the agri-food supply chain (AFSC) research field over the period of 2008–2019. A set of 1236 articles was analyzed from the Web of Science database. Besides using different analytical scientometric tools (topic mapping, co-citation, co-authorship and overlay visualization networks), this study identified frequently-used keywords, new and hot research topics and frequently-studied supply chain management (SCM) practices. Frequently used keywords are food supply chain, food waste, sustainability, food safety, SCM, food industry, and food security. New research themes include contract, blockchain, internet of things, resilience, and short food supply chain, a topic that demands further research especially due to the international COVID-19 pandemic and the need of farmers to be closer to the consumers. Hot research topics, that is, subjects that have been studied in highly cited papers were also identified include life cycle assessment, environmental impact, packaging, water use, food waste prevention, food waste generation, blockchain and carbon footprint. Among SCM practices, this study observed that risk and sustainable SCM are frequently used keywords. Procurement and reverse logistics were observed in fewer studies. SCM, food waste, food quality, GHG emissions and risk management are sustainable SCM practices frequently observed. • This study uses topic mapping, co-citation, co-authorship and overlay visualization. • New topics include contract, blockchain, IOT, resilience, and short food supply chain. • Hot topics include LCA, environmental impact, packaging, water use and blockchain. • Frequently-studied SCM practices include risk and sustainable SCM. • SSCM practices are focused on food waste, food quality and GHG emissions. Since the establishment of one of the early co-operatives in Western Europe in the 1800s, co-operatives in the Western world have developed exponentially and played essential roles in improving agricultural sustainability. Much research has been carried out on this topic; however, to date, there is no systematic review of this body of the literature. To fill this gap, this paper is designed to identify the main research themes regarding agricultural co-operatives in western countries, and subsequently shed light on avenues for future research in this field. Based on a systematic literature review with bibliometric techniques including citation and co-citation analyses, this study identifies six predominant themes (social and environmental performance of co-operatives, governance structures of co-operatives, trust and commitment in co-operatives, comparisons between co-operatives and investor-owned firms (IOFs), financing problems in co-operatives, and women's co-operatives) of debates on western co-operatives. This paper looks at intellectual connections in tourism studies through a co-citation analysis of its source knowledge. Reference sources from articles in Annals of Tourism Research are analyzed to describe source subject clustering and evolution over the last two decades. The subject clustering, connections and evolutions of twelve major source knowledge domains (namely, authenticity, tourist experiences, tourism planning, resident attitudes, tourism impacts, tourism area lifecycle, consumer behavior, backpacker tourism, performance approach, paradigms in tourism, dark tourism, and mobility) are visualized, described and discussed by four lustra (1998–2002, 2003–2007, 2008–2012, and 2013–2017).
