The green bond market shows good potential to help mobilize financial sources towards sustainable investments. Green bonds are similar to conventional bonds but are specifically created to raise money to finance climate or other environmental projects. The relevance of the paper is underpinned by mixed evidence on the existence of 'greenium in various corporate bond markets and lack of a clear understanding of the green bond yields' determinants. The objective of the paper is to explore the existence and determinants of greenium in Europe. Our sample included 3,851 green and conventional bonds in the European debt markets over the period from 2007 to 2021. The results showed that the climate corporate bonds in Europe are priced at discount to the same-risk conventional corporate bonds. The magnitude of greenium in whole European green bond market was around 4 bps. However, we did not find the significant greenium in the green bond markets of the UK, France, Netherlands, and Germany. As an important information intermediary and external monitor, analysts have a serious impact on investors. In order to study the impact of analysts' attention and research reports' attention on corporate bond credit spreads, this paper selects non-financial companies issuing bonds in China A-share market from 2017 to 2020 as samples, establish a panel data regression model for empirical research. The research found that both analyst attention and research report attention have a significant impact on the credit spread of corporate bonds, and the higher the analyst attention and research report attention, the smaller the corporate bond credit spread, indicating that analysts play an effective role in supervising the default risk of listed companies. The role of green financing in propelling corporate green transformation and sustainable growth has attracted a lot of interest. Regarding their function in promoting corporate green transformation, green bonds—a crucial part of green finance—pose an important research question. This study, targeting Chinese A-share listed corporates, employing double machine learning models, aims to delve into the impact and mechanisms of green bond issuance on corporate green transformation. The findings indicate that issuing green bonds significantly drives corporate green transformation, especially in state-owned, smaller-scale, and non-manufacturing firms, where the impact is more evident. Further analysis discloses that green bond issuance primarily facilitates corporate green transformation through its functions in green investment and financing, green regulatory compliance, and green governance. This study serves as a theoretical reference, guiding businesses in seizing emerging opportunities in the green bond market and actively undertaking green transformation projects, thereby catalyzing a comprehensive economic transition. We analyze the potential of the European Union (EU) Taxonomy (ET) for Sustainable Activities to mobilize investments for the sustainability transition toward urban nature-based solutions (UNBS). We map the current investment landscape of UNBS in Europe and combine this mapping with document analysis of UNBS inclusion in the ET to understand how the ET might help overcome the well-documented barriers to UNBS finance. We suggest that the ET has a legitimizing effect on UNBS as climate investments, which can support their uptake, but also conclude that only some UNBS subtypes are explicitly included when they fit with existing investment classes. In particular, the ET (1) disregards innovative - and specifically urban - UNBS types and (2) fails to provide incentives for investments that can deliver multiple sustainable objectives, which would enhance the investment case for UNBS. Since the current investment landscape of UNBS is characterized by a strong presence of public actors and a high incidence of co-financing, we recommend that public actors leverage the ET to obtain private funding for UNBS via (green) bond issuance and public-private co-finance instruments. Our analysis indicates that the ability of the ET to upscale investments for specific sustainability transitions depends on the interplay among their current investment landscapes, specific financing barriers, and explicit inclusion in the ET. • The EU Taxonomy (ET) explicitly promotes investment only into specific urban nature based solutions (UNBS). • The effectiveness of the ET for unlocking private investments is likely to be heterogeneous across urban NBS. • ET points out institutional investors having potential of investment in UNBS by holding shares of firms that fund UNBS. • Under the ET, some financial instruments have higher capacity of scaling-up investments into UNBS – corporate green bonds. • The ET may serve as a vehicle for enabling public-private co-investments and accelerate sustainability transitions. This paper explores the pricing implications of green bonds in the Chinese corporate bond market. We document a large greenium in the Chinese green bond market, whereby green bonds are issued at lower offering yield spreads in the primary market and traded at lower yields in the secondary market. The magnitude of the Chinese greenium is substantially greater than other international green bond markets. Exploring the underlying mechanisms, we document convincing evidence that mitigation of information asymmetry and exposure to salient environmental stimuli such as air pollution are plausible explanations of the greenium. • Green certification has pricing implications in the Chinese corporate bond market. • This study documents a greenium in the Chinese bond market. • Green bonds are issued at lower offering yield spreads in the primary market. • Green bonds are traded at lower yields in the secondary market. • The Chinese greenium is greater than other international green bond markets. Abstract: In this article we introduce a scoring system (EMS Model) for Emerging Corporate Bonds. The scoring system provides an empirically based tool for the investor to use in making relative value determinations. The EMS Model is an enhanced version of the statistically proven Z-Score model. Unlike the original Z-Score model, our approach can be applied to nonmanufacturing companies, and manufacturers, and is relevant for privately held and publicly owned firms.The adjusted EMS Model incorporates the particular credit characteristics of emerging markets companies, and is best suited for assessing relative value among emerging markets credits. The model combines fundamental credit analysis and rigorous benchmarks together with analyst-enhanced assessments to reach a modified rating, which can then be compared to agency ratings (if any) and market levels. We have included a summary of Mexican companies for which we have applied the EMS Model. We have included in this a description of Mexican company credits, first from prior to the Mexican crisis (1994) then followed, in some cases, to a more recent date. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

This paper presents a new version of the TOPSIS method for sorting problems. The proposed method, called Preference Disaggregation on Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution - Sort (PDTOPSIS-Sort), is based on nonlinear programming for inferring parameters and uses expert's holistic evaluations. The existing TOPSIS-Sort method demands a significant number of parameters from the expert, including the definition of boundary profiles and weights. The proposed method contributes to the literature by relieving the demand for cognitive effort observed in prior methods. Instead of providing boundary profiles for the limit between every two consecutive classes, the expert provides decision examples. In addition, the specification of weights is not required. A numerical validation of PDTOPSIS-Sort was undertaken based on results previously obtained from the literature for TOPSIS-Sort, which has been presented in detail as supplementary material. In addition, the first analysis of Brazilian corporate bonds supported by an MCDM/A model is presented. To do so, data were collected from the financial statements published by the issuers of these bonds.
