The LiVO 3 ultra-low temperature cofired ceramic (ULTCC) was synthesized by the solid-state chemical method and its crystal structure, sintering behavior, and microwave dielectric performances were systematically studied by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Scanning electron microscope (SEM). XRD showed that LiVO 3 were pure monoclinic single phase with a space group of C2/c. Furthermore, the best microwave dielectric properties Q × f = 16,900 ± 720 GHz, ε r = 8.78 ± 0.06, and τ f = − 117 ± 2.3 ppm/°C could be obtained when LiVO 3 sintered at optimal sintering condition 520 °C/8 h affirmed by SEM. The microwave dielectric properties were also deeply investigated utilizing the P–V–L chemical bond theory. The microwave dielectric performances of LiVO 3 had a great closer relationship with the V(1)–O bonds explained by analysis data. The low permittivity LiVO 3 with attractive features highlighted it to be a good candidate for ULTCC applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
