S-217622 (Ensitrelvir) is a reversible severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) 3-chymotrypsin-like protease (3CL pro ) inhibitor which obtained emergency regulatory approval in Japan for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection on Nov 22, 2022. Herein, analogs of S-271622 with deuterium-for-hydrogen replacement were synthesized for comparison of the antiviral activities and pharmacokinetic (PK) profiles. Compared to the parent compound, C11-d2-S-217622 compound YY-278 retained in vitro activity against 3CL pro and SARS-CoV-2. X-ray crystal structural studies showed similar interactions of SARS-CoV-2 3CL pro with YY-278 and S-271622. The PK profiling revealed the relatively favorable bioavailability and plasma exposure of YY-278. In addition, YY-278, as well as S-217622, displayed broadly anti-coronaviral activities against 6 other coronaviruses that infect humans and animals. In analytical mass spectrometry, an efficient desorption is needed for nonvolatile compounds at ultra-trace level detection. In this paper, an ultrasonic cutter-assisted non-thermal desorption method for ultra-trace level detection of different types of nonvolatile compounds such as drugs of abuse, explosives, pharmaceuticals, spinosad, cholesterol, rhodamine B, glucose and amino acids has been described. The relevant compounds were deposited on the ultrasonic blade except pharmaceutical tablets that were used directly, and gently touched on perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) made substrate with oscillation frequency about 40 kHz in order to desorb the solid molecules. The desorbed gaseous molecules were ionized using a home-made helium dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI) source and then detected by an ion trap mass spectrometer. The synergistic effect caused by gaining the oscillation and frictional/mechanical energy enhanced desorption of the solid molecules into gaseous phase, thereby, resulting in detection at ultra-trace level. PFA made substrate showed better limits of detection (LODs) compared to that of wood made substrate. The LOD values for most of the target analytes were ranging from 20.00 ± 0.91 to 200.25 ± 9.04 pg with RSD values ≤ 5% except for pharmaceutical tablets where only depletion amounts were estimated. The LOD value of cocaine in urine was 39.88 ± 1.65 pg with RDS ≤4.56% showed to be a very promising analytical tool for analysis of drugs of abuse in biological samples under ambient conditions. Drugs of abuse, pharmaceuticals, spinosad, cholesterol, rhodamine B, glucose and amino acids were detected mostly as their protonated molecular ions while RDX and HMX were detected as their molecular cluster/adduct ions as [M + NO2]- and [M + NO3]-, and AN was detected as a cluster ion of HNO3 with NO3-, [HNO3 + NO3]-, without suffering from fragmentation. The effective elimination of micropollutants by an environmentally friendly method has received extensive attention recently. In this study, a photocatalyst based on polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-supported graphitic carbon nitride coupled with zinc phthalocyanine nanofibers (g-C3N4/ZnTcPc/PAN nanofibers) was successfully prepared, where g-C3N4/ZnTcPc was introduced as the catalytic entity and the PAN nanofibers were employed as support to overcome the defects of easy aggregation and difficult recycling. Herein, rhodamine B (RhB), 4-chlorophenol and carbamazepine (CBZ) were selected as the model pollutants. Compared with the typical hydroxyl radical-dominated catalytic system, g-C3N4/ZnTcPc/PAN nanofibers displayed the targeted adsorption and degradation of contaminants under visible light or solar irradiation in the presence of high additive concentrations. According to the results of the radical scavenging techniques and the electron paramagnetic resonance technology, the degradation of target substrates was achieved by the attack of active species, including photogenerated hole, singlet oxygen, superoxide radicals and hydroxyl radicals. Based on the results of ultra-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, the role of free radicals on the photocatalytic degradation intermediates was identified and the final photocatalytic degradation products of both RhB and CBZ were some biodegradable small molecules., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier B.V. CO2 molecule, one of the main molecules to create new life, should be probed accurately to detect the existence of life in exoplanets. The primary signature of CO2 molecule is approximately 15 μm, and traditional S- and Se-based glass fibers are unsuitable. Thus, Te-based glass is the only ideal candidate glass for far-infrared detection. In this study, a new kind of Te-based chalcohalide glass system was discovered with relatively stable and large optical band gap. A traditional melt-quenching method was adopted to prepare a series of (Ge15Ga10Te75)100-x (CsBr)x chalcogenide glass samples. Experiment results indicate that the glass-forming ability and thermal properties of glass samples were improved when CsBr was added in the host of Ge-Ga-Te glass. Ge-Ga-Te glass could remarkably dissolve CsBr content as much as 85 at.%, which is the highest halide content in all reports for Te-based chalcohalide glasses. Moreover, ΔT values of these glass samples were all above 100 °C. The glass sample (Ge15Ga10Te75)65 (CsBr)35 with ΔT of 119 °C was the largest, which was 7 °C larger than that of Ge15Ga10Te75 host glass. The infrared transmission spectra of these glasses show that the far-infrared cut-off wavelengths of (Ge15Ga10Te75)100-x (CsBr)x chalcogenide glasses were all beyond 25 μm. A novel series of Ge-Te-BiI(3) chalcogenide glasses were prepared by traditional melt-quenching method and the glass-forming region was determined. Properties measurements including density, Vis-NIR and infrared (IR) transmission spectra with FTIR, XRD, DSC were adopted to analyze the composition, structure and performance of the Ge-Te-BiI3 glass system. Based on the metallization criterion and band gap energy theory, the relationships between energy gap, metallization criterion and glass composition was investigated. The results show that with the addition of BiI3, the glasses-forming ability and thermal stability are improved. The values of energy band gap and metallization criterion are within the range of 0.627-0.343 eV and 0.177-0.131, respectively. These series of glasses have wide optical transmission window from 2.2 to 25 μm and can offer an alternative solution for far infrared transmitting applications., (Copyright © 2011 Elsevier B.V. GeS₂-In₂S₃-KI/AgI chalcohalide glasses were prepared by traditional melt-quenching method and the glass-forming region was determined. The dependence of glass properties on composition as formula of (100 - x)(0.75GeS₂-0.25In₂S₃) - x(In₂S₃-KI/AgI) was investigated. The allowed indirect transition of samples was calculated according to the classical Tauc equation. The results show that 50 mol% AgI can be introduced in the glassy matrix while only 40 mol% of KI can be incorporated in the GeS₂-In₂S₃-KI glass system. GeS₂-In₂ S₃-AgI glass system has larger density, higher refractive index and better thermal stability, while GeS₂-In₂S₃-KI glass system has shorter visible cut-off wavelength and higher optical band gap., (Copyright © 2010 Elsevier B.V. Dy(3+) doped 40GeSe(2)-25Ga(2)Se(3)-35CsI (GGC) glass was synthesized, and optical spectrum, such as infrared transmission and Vis-Nir absorption was measured. Base on the Judd-Ofelt theory, the three Judd-Ofelt parameters Omega(t) (t=2, 4, 6) were calculated and the results were compared with other chalcogenide glasses. The small Omega(2) in GGC glass is ascribed to the weak covalency of Se-Dy bond. The theory of crystallization kinetics under non-isothermal condition was developed, and was applied to analyze this Dy(3+) doped GGC glass. From the heating-rate dependence of crystallization temperature, the activation energy for crystallization E=148 kJ/mol is obtained, and this value is much smaller than that of the undoped glass host, indicating the introduction of Dy(3+) ions into the GGC glass will get the host crystallized easily.

A kind of novel fluorescence which possesses a potential application in wide-band optical amplifying is reported in this paper. With 975-nm LD laser pumping and Yb(3+)-assisted energy transferring, the fluorescence of Tm(3+)in the tellurite glass can be measured with emission spectra in 1.4- and 1.6- microm bands, which would be continued to the 1.53 microm of the Er(3+). The full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) is 170 nm(110 + 60nm), and the lifetimes come up to 0.66 and 1.46 ms. Then, an interpretation was given to the mechanism of IR fluorescence emission which is based on the energy transferring and up-conversion of Tm(3+), Yb(3+) and Er(3+).

The Eu(3+) ion was introduced into Er(3+) doped Bi(2)O(3)-GeO(2)-Ga(2)O(3)-Na(2)O (BGGN) glasses to improve the 1.5 microm band emission. As a function of Eu(2)O(3) doped content, we observed the increase in non-radiative decay rate of Er(3+) not only (4)I(11/2) energy level but also (4)I(13/2) energy level, while the lifetime of Er(3+):(4)I(11/2) and (4)I(13/2) levels were shortened from 607 to 241 micros and from 3.37 to 1.88 ms, respectively. Accordingly, the upconversion fluorescence (green and red) was quenched. The total quantum efficiency of the Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) increased with the Eu(2)O(3) content increasing up to 0.2 mol% due to the state-selective energy transfer from Er(3+) to Eu(3+).

Nd(2)O(3)-doped 70Bi(2)O(3)-20B(2)O(3)-10SiO(2)-xNd(2)O(3) (x=0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 1.5 mol%) bismuth glasses were prepared by the conventional melt-quenching method, and the Nd(3+):(4)F(3/2)-->(4)I(13/2) fluorescence properties had been studied for different Nd(3+) concentrations. The Judd-Ofelt analysis for Nd(3+) ions in bismuth boron silicate glasses was also performed on the base of absorption spectrum. The transition probabilities, excited state lifetimes, the fluorescence branching ratios, quantum efficiency and the stimulated emission cross-sections of (4)F(3/2)-->(4)I(13/2) transition were calculated and discussed. Based on the electric dipole-dipole interaction theory, the interaction parameters: C(DD), for the energy migration rate (4)F(3/2), (4)I(9/2)-->(4)F(3/2), (4)I(9/2) and C(DA), for cross-relaxation rate (4)F(3/2), (4)I(9/2)-->(4)I(15/2), (4)I(15/2), and/or (4)F(3/2), (4)I(9/2)-->(4)I(13/2), (4)I(15/2) in bismuth boron silicate glasses were about 18.4 x 10(-40)cm(6)/s and 3.4 x 10(-40)cm(6)/s, respectively.

The absorption and upconversion fluorescence spectra of a series of Er3+/Yb3+-codoped xBi(2)O(3)-(90-x)GeO2-10Na(2)O (BGN x, x=31, 36, 41, 46 and 51 mol%) glasses have been studied. Intense green and red emission bands at around 533, 548 and 659 nm, corresponding to the 2H(11/2)-->4I(15/2), 4S(3/2)-->4I(15/2) and 4F(9/2)-->4I(15/2) transitions of Er3+, respectively, were simultaneously observed at room temperature. The dependence of intensities of upconversion emission on excitation power and possible upconversion mechanisms were evaluated and analyzed. The important role of Bi(2)O(3) in upconversion intensity is observed and its influence on the green (533 and 548 nm) and red (659 nm) emissions is compared and discussed. The influence of Bi(2)O(3) on the upconversion emissions has been investigated based on the IR spectra.

Up-conversion luminescence characteristics under 975 nm excitation have been investigated with Tb3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ triply doped tellurite glasses. Here, green (547 nm: (5)D(4)-->(7)F(4)) and red (660 nm: (5)D(4)-->(7)F(2)) up-conversion (UC) luminescence originating from Tb3+ is observed strongly, because of the quadratic dependences of emission intensities on the excitation power. Especially, the UC luminescence was intensified violently with the energy transfer from the Tm3+ ions involves in the Tb3+ excitation. To the Tb3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ triply doped glass system, a novel up-conversion mechanism is proposed as follows: the energy of (3)G(4) level (Tm3+) was transferred to (5)D(4) (Tb(3+)) and the 477-nm UC luminescence of Tm3+ was nearly quenched.

A series of novel 70TeO2-(15-x)B2O3-xNb2O5-15ZnO-1wt.% Er2O3 (TBN x=0, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 mol%) tellurite glasses were prepared. The thermal stability, absorption spectra, emission spectra, and the lifetime of the (4)I(13/2) level of Er(3+) ions were measured and investigated. Three Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters Omega(t) (t=2, 4 and 6) (Omega(2)=(5.42-6.76)x10(-20)cm(2); Omega(4)=(1.37-1.73)x10(-20)cm(2); Omega(6)=(0.70-0.94)x10(-20)cm(2)) of Er(3+) ions were calculated by Judd-Ofelt theory. It is found that the Omega(6) first increases with the increase of Nb2O5 content from 0 to 6 mol% and then decreases, which is mainly affected by the number of non-bridging oxygen ions of the glass network. The high peak of stimulated emission cross-section (sigma(e)(peak)=(0.77-0.91)x10(-20)cm(2)) of Er(3+): (4)I(13/2)-->(4)I(15/2) transition were obtained according to McCumber theory and broad full width at half maximum (FWHM=65-73 nm) of the (4)I(13/2)-->(4)I(15/2) transition of Er(3+) ions were measured. The results indicate that these new TBN glasses can be used as a candidate host material for potential broadband optical amplifiers.

Er(3+)/Yb(3+) co-doped 60Bi(2)O(3)-(40 - x)B(2)O(3)-xGeO(2) (BBG; x=0, 5, 10, 15 mol%) glasses that are suitable for fiber lasers, amplifiers have been fabricated and characterized. The absorption spectra, emission spectra, and lifetime of the (4)I(13/2) level and quantum efficiency of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition were measured and calculated. With the substitution of GeO(2) for B(2)O(3), both Delta lambda(eff) and sigma(e) decrease from 75 to 71 nm and 9.88 to 8.12 x 10(-21) cm(2), respectively. The measured lifetime of the (4)I(13/2) level and quantum efficiency of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition increase from 1.18 to 1.5 ms and 36.2% to 43.2%, respectively. The emission spectra of Er(3+):(4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) transition was also analyzed using a peak-fit routine, and an equivalent four-level system was proposed to estimate the stark splitting for the (4)I(15/2) and (4)I(13/2) levels of Er(3+) in the BBG glasses. The results indicate that the (4)I(13/2) --> (4)I(15/2) emission of Er(3+) can be exhibit a considerable broadening due to a significant enhance the peak A, and D emission.

The B2O3 was introduced into the Er3+ doped TeO2-ZnO-Na2O glass to increase the phonon energy of the host. The effect of B2O3 on the non-radiative rate of the 4I11/2-->4I13/2 transition of Er3+, the lifetime of the 4I11/2 and 4I13/2 levels, the green and red upconversion emissions intensity, and the 4I13/2-->4I15/2 emission intensity was discussed. The results show that the phonon energy of boro-tellurite glass is close to that of germanate glass and is quite smaller than that of borate glass. The lifetime of 4I11/2 level and the upconversion emissions decrease with increasing B2O3 concentration. The higher OH group concentration presented in the boro-tellurite glass may shorten the lifetime of 4I13/2 level and also reduce the quantum efficiency of 4I13/2-->4I15/2 emission. The future dehydrating procedures are suggested to enhance the efficiency of amplification at 1.5 microm band.

The absorption spectra and upconversion fluorescence spectra of Er3+/Yb3+-codoped natrium-gallium-germanium-bismuth glasses are measured and investigated. The intense green (533 and 549 nm) and red (672 nm) emission bands were simultaneously observed at room temperature. The quadratic dependence of the green and red emission on excitation power indicates that the two-photon absorption processes occur. The influence of Ga2C3 on upconversion intensity is investigated. The intensity of green emissions increases slowly with increasing Ga2O3 content, while the intensity of red emission increases significantly. The possible upconversion mechanisms for these glasses have also been discussed. The maximum phonon energy of the glasses determined based on the infrared (IR) spectral analysis is as low as 740 cm-1. The studies indicate that Bi2O3-GeO2-Ga2O3-Na2O glasses may be potential materials for developing upconversion optical devices.

Optical absorption and emission properties of the Er3+/Yb3+ codoped TeO2-WO3-Bi2O3 (TWB) glass has been investigated. The transition probabilities, excited state lifetimes, and the branching ratios have been predicted for Er3+ based on the Judd-Ofelt theory. The broad 1.5 microm fluorescence was observed under 970 nm excitation, and its full width at half maximum (FWHM) is 77 nm. The emission cross-section is calculated using the McCumber theory, and the peak emission cross-section is 1.03 x 10(-21) cm2 at 1.531 microm. This value is much larger than those of the silicate and phosphate glasses. Efficient green and weak red upconversion luminescence from Er3+ centers in the glass sample was observed at room temperature, and the upconversion excitation processes have been analyzed.

The spectral properties of Er3+/Yb3+ codoped tungsten-tellurite (WT) glasses have been investigated. The measured absorption spectra are analyzed by Judd-Ofelt theory. The compositional change of intensity parameter omega2 is attributed to the change in the covalency between the Er3+ and oxygen ions, the asymmetry in the local structures around the Er3+ ions can be neglected. The lifetimes of 4I(13/2) level of Er3+ in WT glasses are measured and comparable with other TeO2-based glasses. The stimulated emission cross-section is calculated based on McCumber theory. The fluorescence full width at half maximum (FWHM) and the emission cross-section (sigma(peak)) of the 4I(13/2) --> 4I(15/2) transition of Er3+ in different glass hosts have been compared. The suitability of such WT glasses as host materials for 1.5 microm broadband amplification is discussed.
