In this study, a new corrosion inhibitor termed 2-(3-chloro-2-(4-hydroxy-3, 5-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-oxoazetidin-1-yl)-1-methyl-1H-imidazole-4(5H)-one (COMI) has been synthesized, diagnosed, and tested as a potential candidate for mild steel corrosion prevention in 1M HCl. The research combined experimental and theoretical approaches. Experimentally, weight loss, electrochemical tests, FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, EDS, surface morphology analysis, hardness assessments, thermal stability studies, and contact angle measurements were conducted. Computationally, density functional theory (DFT) and an inhibitory mechanism were proposed to explain the inhibitor–metal surface interactions. The study demonstrated that COMI significantly reduced corrosion rates in 1M HCl, achieving an inhibition efficiency of 98.42% at a concentration of 80 ppm and a temperature of 60 °C. The inhibitor was found to form a protective layer on the mild steel surface, influencing both anodic and cathodic corrosion processes. This protective layer formed spontaneously, consistent with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The Gibbs free energy (ΔGads) was calculated to be −28.81 kJ/mol, indicating that COMI adsorbed spontaneously onto the mild steel surface through both physical and chemical adsorption mechanisms. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) images confirmed the existence of this protective layer. The addition of 80 ppm COMI reduces the surface roughness from 2.12 to 0.28 μm. Computational studies further validated the experimental findings, confirming the formation of bonds between COMI and the mild steel surface.

Corrosion induced by aqueous environments containing carbon dioxide (CO2) is a well-documented issue in the oil and gas industries, particularly affecting transportation via steel pipelines. Operational conditions during transportation, including temperature, flow rate, and solution chemistry, significantly influence the corrosion inhibition mechanism. In this study, the corrosion inhibition behavior of API 5L X52 steel in a 3.5 wt% NaCl brine solution saturated with carbon dioxide was investigated using 1, 3-diazole glyoxaline (DG) as an organic inhibitor. Both gravimetric and electrochemical methods were employed to assess corrosion rates and inhibitor efficiency across various temperatures, inhibitor concentrations, and rotational speeds. The outcomes showed that inhibition efficiency increased with inhibitor concentration and temperature. From weight loss measurements, the maximum inhibition efficiency was 98.58 % at 3 × 10−4 M of DG and 60 °C. The polarization investigations showed a reduction in the anodic and cathodic curves in the presence of the inhibitor. This suggested a mixed-type inhibition mechanism. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results showed an improvement in charge transfer resistance due to the formation of a protective layer on the metal surface. In addition, AFM, SEM, contact angle, hardness, and roughness measurements proved the enhancement in surface morphology due to the presence of DG.

The aim of the present work is to study the corrosion inhibition of Al 7475 alloy by an expired mouthwash drug (EMWD) in a 1 M HCl solution. The corrosion rate was optimized by the Doehlert experimental design at various temperatures, concentrations of inhibitor, and rotational velocity. The corrosion behavior was investigated by mass loss, Tafel potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. SEM, MOMT, XRD, FT-IR spectrum, and drop wettability measurement were used in characterizations of EMWD and surface morphology. Optimum conditions for corrosion control of EMWD on aluminum were 44.12 °C, 141.71 mL/L of EMWD per liter of acid, and 234.89 rpm. Maximum corrosion inhibition efficiency was 84.717% at higher levels of temperature and inhibitor concentration. It is observed that EMWD follows the Langmuir Adsorption Isotherm with negative values of ΔGadso, proposing a stable spontaneous inhibition process. The inhibitor efficiency increased as the inhibitor concentration increased. Moreover, increasing the solution temperature and rotational velocity had an adverse influence on inhibitor efficiency. The results of mass loss were in good agreement with potentiodynamic polarization and EIS. Polarization diagrams revealed that the inhibitor acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. It could be concluded that response surface Doehlert design (RSDD) was adequately applicable in the optimization of corrosion inhibition process variables and that EMWD sufficiently inhibited the corrosion of the aluminum at the studied conditions. Simulation of the EMWD molecules adsorption on the metal surface by quantum chemical theoretical studies was a powerful tool for supporting experimental outcomes.

Metal corrosion is a destructive process for many industrial operations, including oil well acidizing and acid pickling. Therefore, numerous efforts made by many researchers to control the steel corrosion. In the present work, A (E)-4-(((4-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) phenyl) amino) methyl)-2-methoxyphenol (MOPM) has been synthesized and characterized as a new corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid. FTIR and 1HNMR were used in the diagnosis of MOPM, while electrochemical polarization technique was employed to test the performance of inhibitor at various temperatures and inhibitor concentrations. Electrochemical studies showed that MOPM acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with a maximum inhibition efficiency of 93.2% at 30 °C and 0.5 M MOPM. Furthermore, the presence of MOPM increased the polarization resistance and depressed the corrosive action. The inhibitory action of MOPM over mild-steel surface was according to Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The calculated free energy of adsorption was −20.663 kJ.mol−1 that suggested the spontaneous physical adsorption mode. Value of activation energy was higher in the presence of MOPM, which indicated the formation of protective layer on the metal surface. Quantum chemical calculations that carried out to the chemical structure of MOPM provides a reasonable support to the experimental results.

A novel organic corrosion inhibitor, named 3, 5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl m (4-((4-hydroxybenzylidene) amino) phenyl) methanone (DPHM) has been effectively synthesized and characterized. The diagnosis of functional groups and constituents of DPHM has been conducted by FTIR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The inhibitor efficacy for low-carbon steel in 1 M HCl was evaluated by using weight loss and electrochemical techniques. The inhibition efficiency was increased with increasing the temperature and DPHM concentrations. The inhibition efficiency approaches a maximum value of 89.5% at 400 ppm of DPHM and 60 °C. The efficiency of the inhibitor was attributed to the formation of a protective mono-layer on the steel surface. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm was used to inspect the adsorption process mechanism. Theoretical quantum chemical simulations were used to investigate the mechanism of inhibition. The results revealed that the DPHM was the donor of electron, while the steel surface was an electron acceptor. Mathematical and statistical modelling were used as powerful tool for data representation. Exponential model, with 0.992 correlation coefficient, was the most accurate one.

Purpose: : Cancer patients experience significant distress and burden of decision-making throughout treatment and beyond. These stressors can interfere with their ability to make reasoned and timely decisions about their care and lead to low physical and social functioning and poor survival. This pilot study examined the impact of offering Problem-Solving Skills Training (PSST) to adult cancer survivors to help them and their caregivers cope more successfully with post-treatment decision-making burden and distress. Patients and Methods: : Fifty patients who completed their definitive treatment for colorectal, breast or prostate cancer within the last 6 months and reported distress (level > 2 on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network distress thermometer) were randomly assigned to either care as usual (CAU) or 8 weekly PSST sessions. Patients were invited to include a supportive other (n = 17). Patient and caregiver assessments at baseline (T1), end of intervention or 3 months (T2), and at 6 months (T3) focused on problem-solving skills, anxiety/depression, quality of life and healthcare utilization. We compared outcomes by study arm and interviewed participants about PSST burden and skill maintenance. In this paper, anodizing process of 5854 aluminum-magnesium alloy (5854Al-Mg) in oxalic acid (OXA) was investigated in the absence and presence of 5-sulfosalicylic acid (SSA). Electrochemical and surface morphological techniques were used to study the corrosion resistance and film characterizations. Furthermore, the influence of sealing time on corrosion rate was addressed. It was observed that the corrosion current density decreased with the addition of SSA and increasing with sealing time. Maximum coating efficiency was 90.72% in the presence of 0.09 M SSA at 50 min of sealing period. The open circuit potential (OCP) was shifted to a more positive direction indicating the formation of passive film. While, the values of polarization resistance (Rp) of aluminum alloy were higher in the presence of SSA. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the addition of SSA improved the surface properties. The anodizing of 5854 Al alloy in the presence of SSA resulted in the formation of anodic films of higher hardness, less roughness, and high film thickness as compared with OXA alone. Reaction kinetics models were proposed. The best fitting was obtained with zero-order reaction kinetics. Half-life time was increased from 9.05 to 123.3 min in case of OXA/SSA anodizing process. In addition, four mathematical equations were suggested to represent the corrosion current density as a function of time. Power model was the most significant one as compared with linear, second order, and exponential models.

Objectives: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is the most common cause of childhood morbidity and mortality in developing countries, including Haiti. Our objective was to detect pathogens found in children with ARI in rural Haiti to help develop evidence-based guidelines for treatment and prevention. Methods: Retrospective study of students with ARI at four schools in rural Haiti. Viral and/or bacterial pathogens were identified by qPCR in 177 nasal swabs collected from April 2013 through November 2015. Results: Most common viruses detected were Rhinovirus (36%), Influenza A (16%) and Adenovirus (7%), and bacteria were Streptococcus pneumoniae (58%) and Staphylococcus aureus (28%). Compared to older children, children aged 3–5 years had more Influenza A (28% vs. 9%, p = 0.002) and Adenovirus detected (14% vs. 3%, p = 0.01). Similarly, S. pneumoniae was greatest in children 3–5 years old (71% 3–5yrs; 58% 6–15 years; 25% 16–20 years; p = 0.008). In the present study, a mass transfer based theoretical model to investigate the rate of corrosion of an alloy of mild steel in a solution of a carbon oxide-wastewater from oilfield with and without acetic acid is presented. Electrochemical polarization data are evaluated using β – model which takes into account the influence of mass transfer on the corrosion process. An algorithm is built, and two software programs are used in evaluating the corrosion kinetics parameters. The effect of correction factor of mass transfer, which depends on β, on the kinetic reaction parameters is evaluated.The average value of β is 0.42 suggesting a mixed control corrosion mechanism. A mass transfer correction factor (λ) is evaluated at different temperatures and speeds of rotation in the absence and presence of the protective film. The values of λ ≈1 at low overpotential and it decrease as over potential increases. The polarization resistance values in the absence of acetic acid are larger (≈0.5 Ω. cm2) than the polarization resistance values in the presence of acetic acid (≈0.1 Ω. cm2), due to the formation of the protective film. The results are further analyzed by dimensionless groups and empirical equations are obtained with high correlation coefficients.

BACKGROUND: Glioblastoma (GBM) was shown to relapse faster and displayed therapeutic resistance to antiangiogenic therapies (AATs) through an alternative tumor cell-driven mechanism of neovascularization called vascular mimicry (VM). We identified highly upregulated interleukin 8 (IL-8)-CXCR2 axis in tumor cells in high-grade human glioma and AAT-treated orthotopic GBM tumors. METHODS: Human GBM tissue sections and tissue array were used to ascertain the clinical relevance of CXCR2-positive tumor cells in the formation of VM. We utilized U251 and U87 human tumor cells to understand VM in an orthotopic GBM model and AAT-mediated enhancement in VM was modeled using vatalanib (anti-VEGFR2) and avastin (anti-VEGF). Later, VM was inhibited by SB225002 (CXCR2 inhibitor) in a preclinical study. RESULTS: Overexpression of IL8 and CXCR2 in human datasets and histological analysis was identified as a bonafide candidate to validate VM through in vitro and animal model studies. AAT-treated tumors displayed a higher number of CXCR2-positive GBM-stem cells with endothelial-like phenotypes. Stable knockdown of CXCR2 expression in tumor cells led to decreased tumor growth as well as incomplete VM structures in the animal models. Similar data were obtained following SB225002 treatment. CONCLUSIONS: The present study suggests that tumor cell autonomous IL-8-CXCR2 pathway is instrumental in AAT-mediated resistance and VM formation in GBM. Therefore, CXCR2 can be targeted through SB225002 and can be combined with standard therapies to improve the therapeutic outcomes in clinical trials.

Background: There is a lack of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the role of hand hygiene in preventing and containing acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in mass gatherings. In this pilot RCT, we assessed the feasibility of establishing a large-scale trial to explore the relationship between practising hand hygiene and rates of ARI in Umrah pilgrimage amidst the COVID-19 pandemic., Methods: A parallel RCT was conducted in hotels in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, between April and July 2021. Domestic adult pilgrims who consented to participate were randomised 1:1 to the intervention group who received alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) and instructions, or to the control group who did not receive ABHR or instructions but were free to use their own supplies. Pilgrims in both groups were then followed up for seven days for ARI symptoms. The primary outcome was the difference in the proportions of syndromic ARIs among pilgrims between the randomised groups., Results: A total of 507 (control: intervention = 267: 240) participants aged between 18 and 75 (median 34) years were randomised; 61 participants were lost to follow-up or withdrew leaving 446 participants (control: intervention = 237:209) for the primary outcome analysis; of whom 10 (2.2 %) had developed at least one respiratory symptom, three (0.7 %) had 'possible ILI' and two (0.4 %) had 'possible COVID-19'. The analysis of the primary outcome found no evidence of difference in the proportions of ARIs between the randomised groups (odds ratio 1.1 [0.3-4.0] for intervention relative to control)., Conclusion: This pilot trial suggests that conducting a future definitive RCT to assess the role of hand hygiene in the prevention of ARIs is feasible in Umrah setting amidst such a pandemic; however, outcomes from this trial are inconclusive, and such a study would need to be very large given the low rates of outcomes observed here., Trial Registration: This trial was registered in the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ANZCTR) (ACTRN12622001287729), the full protocol can be accessed there., Competing Interests: Declaration of Competing Interest All authors declare no conflict of interest., (Copyright © 2023 The Authors. Objectives: Peripheral artery disease is a worldwide epidemic that affects millions of patients, especially the elderly. It has a prevalence of 20% in individuals >80 years old. Although peripheral artery disease affects >20% of octogenarians, information about limb salvage rates in this patient population is limited. Therefore, this study aims to understand the impact of bypass surgery on limb salvage in patients aged >80 years with critical limb ischemia., Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis by querying the electronic medical records at a single institution from 2016 through 2022 to identify the population of interest and analyzed their outcomes after lower extremity bypass. The primary outcomes were limb salvage and primary patency, with hospital length of stay and 1-year mortality as secondary outcomes., Results: We identified 137 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The lower extremity bypass population was divided into two cohorts: <80 years old (n = 111) with a mean age of 66 or ≥80 years old (n = 26) with a mean age of 84 years. The gender distribution was similar (P = .163). No significant difference was found in the two cohorts when it came to coronary artery disease, chronic kidney disease, or diabetes mellitus. However, when current and former smokers were grouped together, they were significantly more common in the younger cohort when compared with nonsmokers (P = .028). The primary end point of limb salvage was not significantly different between the two cohorts. Hospital length of stay was not significantly different between the two cohorts with 4.13 days vs 4.17 days in the younger vs octogenarian cohorts, respectively (P = .95). The 30-day all-cause readmissions were also not found to be significantly different between the two groups. The primary patency at 1 year was 75% and 77% (P = .16) for the <80-year-old and ≥80-year-old cohorts, respectively. Mortality was low in both cohorts, with two and three for the younger and octogenarian populations, respectively; thus, no analysis was performed., Conclusions: Our study shows that octogenarians who undergo the same preoperative risk assessment as younger populations have similar outcomes when it comes to primary patency, hospital length of stay, and limb salvage when comorbidities were considered. Even though the prevalence of VSR after MI is only 1%-3%, the mortality associated with the condition is more than 80%. Very few studies in the literature have described in detail the treatment options for delayed VSR repair. This systematic review was conducted to evaluate the outcomes of delayed ventricular septal rupture (VSR) repair following acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Digital databases were searched systematically to identify studies reporting the outcomes of delayed VSR repair. Detailed study and patient-level baseline characteristics including the type of study, sample size, follow-up, number of delayed repairs, time to repair, outcomes (in terms of major adverse cardiovascular events), and predictors of outcome were abstracted. A total of 12 studies, recruiting 8,579 patients were included in the final analysis. Male gender, young age (<60 years), and delayed VSR repair were reported as predictors of survival along with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and the use of inotropes before surgery. Postoperative renal failure, higher New York Heart Association (NYHA) score, early repair, and history of heart failure (HF) were demonstrated as predictors of mortality. This study demonstrated that delayed VSR repair can reduce mortality in patients who develop VSR after AMI. Magnetic properties of root, bark, and leaf of mangrove (Avicenna marina) and sediment were determined for pollution assessment at three locations in the northern coast of the Persian Gulf. The study revealed that the sources of the particles deposited on leaf surfaces can be discriminated via saturation isothermal remanent magnetization (SIRM) values and heavy metal. However, different factors including wind direction, size of the magnetic particles and crown density, play a role using SIRM for biomonitoring of atmospheric particulate matter. For leaves, the significant correlations between SIRM and leaf elemental contents indicated that the deposited particles on their surface mainly have geogenic sources. The magnetic analyses revealed that leaves are more suitable than bark for monitoring atmospheric pollution using mangrove trees due to the effect of different factors including dense crown of trees, washing of tree trunk by sea waves, and elements translocation from roots and sediments. Instead, the positive and significant correlation between the SIRM values for sediments and mangrove roots, and no or negative correlation between sediments and roots with barks and leaves indicates that the magnetic properties of the sediments and mangrove roots are suitable indicators of pollution in aquatic environment., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier B.V. Diabetic wound infection often leads to compromised healing with frequent chances of sepsis, amputation and even death. Traditional patient care emphasized on early debridement and fluid resuscitation followed by intravenous antibiotics therapy. However, compromised vasculature often limit the systemic effect of antibiotics. Current study focused formulation of chitosan HCl, κ- carrageenan and PVA based physical cross-linked hydrogel membrane dressings loaded with cefotaxime sodium (CTX), for potential diabetic burn wound healing by adopting solvent casting method. Results of mechanical strength shows tensile strength and % elongation of 12.63 ± 0.25 and 48 ±3.05 respectively. Water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) depicts that despite of formulation KCP3 and KCP6, all hydrogel membranes have WVTR value in range of ideal dressing i.e., 2000-2500 g/m 2 /day. Whereas, all hydrogel membranes have oxygen permibility values more than 8.2 mg/ml. Bacterial penetration analysis confirms the barrier property of formulated membranes. Drug loaded hydrogel membrane showed control release up to 24 hr which provide protection against bacterial proliferation. Present study aims to constructs diabetic burn rat model which demonstrate that CTX loaded hydrogel membrane shown significantly rapid wound closure higher re-epithelization and numerous granulation tissue formation as compared to positive and negative control group. Conclusively, it is confirmed that formulated hydrogel membranes are beneficial and can be considered as a promising membrane dressing to treat diabetic burn wound., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier B.V. Objective: To evaluate the likelihood of a short interpregnancy interval (IPI) resulting in a birth among women covered by Medicaid, as a function of postpartum contraceptive method type., Study Design: We used Medicaid claims and eligibility data to identify women (aged 15-44) who had a Medicaid-financed birth in Delaware in the years 2012-2014 (n = 10,328). Claims were analyzed to determine postpartum contraceptive type within 60 days of the index birth, and linked birth certificates were used to determine the incidence and timing of a subsequent birth through 2018 (regardless of payer). We used logistic regression to analyze the likelihood of having a short IPI following the index birth as a function of postpartum contraceptive type, controlling for preterm births, parity, having a postpartum checkup, and maternal characteristics including age, race, education, and marital status., Results: Compared to patients receiving postpartum long-acting reversible contraceptive methods (LARC), patients with no contraceptive claims had nearly 5 times higher odds (odds ratio [OR] = 4.98, confidence interval [CI] = 3.05-8.13) and those with claims for moderately effective methods (injectable, pill, patch, or ring) had 3.5 times higher odds (OR = 3.51, CI = 2.13-5.77) of a subsequent birth following a short IPI., Conclusions: In a state population of Medicaid-enrolled women, women with claims for postpartum LARC had substantially lower risk of a short IPI resulting in a birth., Implications: Women who received LARC within 60 days postpartum are less likely to experience a short interpregnancy interval resulting in a birth. The evidence suggests that recent state policy changes that make postpartum LARC more accessible to those that desire it will be an effective strategy in helping patients obtain desired birth intervals., (Copyright © 2021. Background/purpose: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is common in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), although its prognostic significance is questionable. Significant CAD stratified using SYNTAX score (SS) has been associated with greater mortality, yet it is unknown whether the functional impact of CAD also impacts outcomes in this cohort. DILEMMA score (DS) is a validated angiographic functional scoring tool that correlates with fractional flow reserve and instantaneous wave-free ratio. This study sought to assess the functional impact of CAD on outcomes in patients undergoing TAVR for severe aortic stenosis (AS)., Methods/materials: 229 patients were included in this analysis. Patients underwent angiographic DS and SS and were classified using predefined values. The primary endpoint was one-year all-cause mortality, with secondary endpoints of 30-day major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE)., Results: The mean age was 83.9 ± 0.5 years (55.0% female), with 11.8% all-cause mortality. CAD defined by ≥30% stenosis in any vessel was not associated with adverse outcomes (HR = 1.08, p = 0.84). However, the risk of one-year mortality was greater in patients with either SS > 9 (20.8% vs. 9.4%, HR 2.34, p = 0.03) or DS > 2 (18.4% vs. 8.5%, HR = 2.28, p = 0.03). Both scoring systems were also associated with 30-day MACCE (both p < 0.05). Objective: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of different photosensitizers activated by photodynamic therapy (PDT) on shear bond strength (SBS) of composite resin on caries affected dentin compared to conventional cavity disinfectants., Materials and Methods: Forty carious mandibular teeth were collected through non-traumatic extraction. All samples were embedded in polyvinyl cross-sections to the cemento-enamel junction. The preparation of caries-affected dentin was performed by grinding the specimens using silicon carbide discs. All specimens were arbitrarily allocated in to four groups (n = 10). Group 1, affected dentin disinfected with methylene blue (MB) [100 mg/L]; Group 2, caries affected dentin disinfected using curcumin photosensitizer (CP) [500 mg/L]; Group 3, affected dentin disinfected with indocyanin green photosensitizer (ICGP) [0.5 mL] Group 4, affected dentin treated with 3 % H 2 O 2 . Two-step self-etch adhesives was smeared on all specimens for 15 s and photopolymerized for 10 s. All specimens were placed in an incubator with humid environment for 24 h at 37 °C followed by positioning in universal testing machine for SBS testing. Failure mode examination of debonded samples was performed by a stereomicroscope. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for inter group comparison through mean and standard deviation of each group. For multiple group comparison Tukey HSD was employed. Level of significance was established at p < 0.05., Result: In group 2 dentin disinfection using CP, displayed the highest SBS value (18.21 ± 1.39 MPa). Whereas, group 4 (3% H 2 O 2 as cavity disinfectant) presented the lowest SBS values (13.39 ± 1.26 MPa). SBS in Group 3 (ICGP) (17.42 ± 0.55 MPa) specimens was comparable to group 2 (p > 0.05) samples. In group 1, samples disinfected with MB (15.18 ± 0.39 MPa) was found to be significantly lower compared to group 2 and group 3 (p < 0.05) respectively., Conclusion: Curcumin and Indocyanin green (ICGP) PS have the potential to be used as cavity disinfectant as it improves SBS of caries affected dentin to resin composite. Photodynamic therapy for disinfection of caries affected dentin will augment its bond strength, however its long-term effect on bond integrity still needs to be investigated., (Copyright © 2020 Elsevier B.V. Phosphorus is one of the primary macronutrient of plants, which is present in soil. It is essential for normal growth and development of plants. Plants use inorganic form of phosphate but organic form can also be assimilated with the help of soil inhabiting bacteria. Alkaline phosphatase is an enzyme present in Rizobium bacteria. This enzyme is responsible for solubilization and mineralization of organic phosphate and makes it readily available for plants. In the present study, nine different strains of Rhizobium leguminosarum were selected for a detailed computational structural and functional characterization and phylogenetic studies of alkaline phosphatase. Amino acid sequences were retrieved from UniProt and saved in FASTA format for use in analysis. Phylogenetic analysis of these strains was done by using MEGA7. 3D structure prediction was performed by using online server I-Tasser. Galaxy Web and 3D Refine were used for structure refinement. The refined structures were evaluated using two validation servers, QMEAN and SAVES. Protein-protein interaction analysis was done by using STRING. For detailed functional characterization, Cofactor, Coach, RaptorX, PSORT and MEME were used. Overall quality of predicted protein models was above 80%. Refined and validated models were submitted into PMDB. Seven out of nine strains were closely related and other two were distantly related.
