Background: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is the most common sleep breathing disorder. In OSA, breathing is interrupted by a blockage of airflow. Objective: This study was aimed to assess the updated technique for endoscope-guided coblator tongue base reduction for the treatment of patients with OSA. Patients and Methods: This clinical trial study included a total of 12 patients with moderate and severe OSA, attending at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University Hospital. This study was conducted between April 2018 till August 2019. All the studied patients underwent coblation reduction technique for the treatment of retroglossal obstruction in combination with other palatal and/or nasal surgeries in a multilevel protocol. The tongue base was observed with a 30- degree angled, rigid endoscope (4 mm). Results: Male gender represents 75% of the studied patients. Age of the studied patient ranged from 38 to 54 years old with mean age 44.83 years (± 6.41), Oxygen desaturation index (preop.) was ranged from 30.3 to 56.9, while ODI (postop.) was ranged from 3.8 to 60.9. Pythiaceous fungi have variety of occurrences in different environments. If these fungi are present in water intended to irrigate crops, they pose high risk as pathogens. Pythium adhaerens, P. aquatile, P. diclinum, P. dissotocum, P. pachycaule and P. torulosum, in addition to asexual isolates of P. dissotocum (Pythium “group F”) and Phytopythium helicoides (the former, Pythium “group P”) were isolated from 5 rivers and a pond in Gifu, Japan, and their diversity were studied. All of the isolated species have been previously recorded from aquatic habitats except for P. pachycaule. Sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer regions of ribosomal DNA (rDNA-ITS) including the 5.8SrDNA of these fungi confirmed primary identification based on morphological characteristics. This study proves the dense presence of different species of these Pythiaceous fungi, based on the latest modern identification methods, through which a new genus of Pythium was recorded and divided into two species. The efficiency of irrigation as a standard engineering measure has been traditionally used to assess water use management. The objective of this study was to evaluate the technical performance of linear move sprinkler irrigation such as operating speeds for different specifications. Catch cans method was conducted to evaluate the distribution uniformity (DUlq) and the Christiansen coefficient uniformity (CU), evaluation was done at a private farm for two linear move irrigation systems: LM1 (linear move, 6" diameter number of the nozzle orifice 17 attached with 10 L min⁻ˡ flow) and LM2 (linear move, 8" diameter number of the nozzle orifice 25 attached with 20 L min⁻ˡ flow) under three different system speeds. The collected water after the irrigation system full passing over the can’s lines was measured using the graduated funnel to calculate the DUlq and CU. Ideal operating LM1 at the intermediate system speed (75% of the standard irrigation system speed equivalent to 22.5 m h⁻ˡ), operating LM2 at the lowest system speed (50% of the standard irrigation system speed equivalent to 15 m h⁻ˡ) recommended for the uniform irrigation water distribution.
