The objective of the present study was to identify the elements that compose the social representations of university students about the participation of women in the work context, considering the sexual orientation of these women. To that end, 177 university students responded to the Free Word Association Test (TALP), with the terms "women in the work context" and "lesbians in the work context". The data were analyzed through the Prototypic Analysis, performed by the Iramuteq program. For women in general, the results indicate the use of words with apparent positive connotations, but reinforcing gender stereotypes, pointing to socially defined functions for women. For lesbians, the results center the content on the prejudice suffered by them as members of the LGBT community. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
