The expulsion of the poets from the ideal city, a policy elaborated in Plato’s Republic, is one of the most commented episodes in the history of philosophy, so there seems to be little room for novelty on the subject. Yet, in this article I will highlight an issue unattended by the available scholarship: there is an intimate relationship between poetry and oligarchy, between imitators and the regime of government that occupies the center of the scale ranging from the best to the worst. Between the poets characterized by Plato and the oligarchs, I will propose that the difference is only a matter of degree, not of nature, in the same sense that the philosopher establishes the difference between a master and a king, both equally rulers. To this end, I will examine the treatment of the figures of the supplicant, the imitator, the oligarch, and Odysseus (as a character who synthesizes them), to address the common aspects that make their reunion possible. This will lead us to some conclusions about the conflict between Plato and anonymity., La expulsión de los poetas fuera de la ciudad ideal, política elaborada en la República de Platón, es uno de los episodios más comentados en la historia de la filosofía, de modo que no parece haber lugar a novedades sobre el tema. No obstante, en este artículo me dedicaré a un aspecto que parece desatendido por los comentaristas del texto: hay una relación íntima entre la poesía y la oligarquía, entre los imitadores y el régimen de gobierno que ocupa el centro de la escala que va de los mejores a los peores. Entre los poetas caracterizados por Platón y los oligarcas, propondré, la diferencia es únicamente de grado, no de naturaleza, en el mismo sentido en que el filósofo establece la diferencia entre un amo y un rey, ambos por igual gobernantes. A tal fin me detendré en el tratamiento de las figuras del suplicante, el imitador, el oligarca y Odiseo (como personaje que las sintetiza), para atender a los aspectos comunes que hacen posible su reunión. Esto nos llevará a algunas conclusiones sobre el conflicto entre Platón y el anonimato.

Many poets writing after World War II felt a sense of diffidence towards the great ideals of history and religion. They offer a satiric interpretation of their time, and their work often perverts the typological reading of history illustrated in the Bible by opposing the promises of a second coming by Christ with the horrors of the war and the Holocaust, suggesting that the concept of “sacrifice” has no redemptive value. Anthony Hecht, an American post-war formalist, expresses this message through an ekphrastic medium, specifically emblems, inspired by mediaeval culture and Renaissance poetry. One of his early works, The Seven Deadly Sins, in collaboration with the engraver Leonard Baskin, presents a modern collection of emblem poems featuring the figure of Christ, which like the emblematic form can be seen as “word made flesh”. Through their combinations of icons and words, the emblems become the perfect form to assess the dialectical opposition between God and man, body and soul, past and present., Muchos poetas activos después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial sienten un cierto recelo hacia los grandes ideales de la historia y de la religión. The cinema of the writer and anthropologist Ruy Duarte de Carvalho has been studied from the perspective of anthropology and from the historical contextualisation of its political function in Angola in the 1970s and 1980s. In this paper I would like, in a complementary way, to examine his film form. Duarte's films are works of urgency, but they are also works of a poet for whom form is important: beyond facilitating their circulation, it helps the films to fulfil a function that goes beyond a mere propagandistic commission. Duarte de Carvalho's films are based on the postulates of the MPLA, but they problematise them, paying attention to and giving voice to ethnic groups whose relationship with reality does not fit in with linear time and the idea of progress. At the same time, their constructive strategies allow them to take flight and come ever closer to what Duarte once called unwritten poetry., El cine del escritor y antropólogo Ruy Duarte de Carvalho ha sido estudiado desde la perspectiva de la antropología y desde la contextualización histórica de su función política en la Angola de los años setenta y ochenta. En este trabajo quiero, complementariamente, examinar su puesta en forma. Las películas de Duarte son obras de urgencia, pero también son obras de un poeta para el que la forma fílmica es importante: más allá de facilitar su circulación, contribuye a que las películas cumplan una función que supere el mero encargo propagandístico. Las obras cinematográficas de Duarte de Carvalho parten de los postulados del MPLA, pero los problematizan, prestando atención y dando voz a etnias cuya relación con lo real no se adecua al tiempo lineal y a la idea de progreso. Al mismo tiempo, sus estrategias constructivas les permiten alzar el vuelo y acercarse cada vez más a lo que Duarte llamó en alguna ocasión poesía no escrita.

This work carries out a literary analysis of the only three proclamations that the cuban poet, Nicolás Guillén, wrote and published in his vast literary production. From the results obtained from this study, the uses and management of the literary resources carried out by the poet stand out. As well as his intellectual mastery of the different historical-cultural periods of the Cuban nation, served as the basis for writing his polysemic proclamation of the poetry book Sóngoro cosongo and the other two proclamations of the prose text, El Diario que a díario, Este trabajo realiza un análisis literario de los tres únicos pregones que escribió y publicó el poeta cubano, Nicolás Guillén, en su vasta producción literaria. De los resultados obtenidos de este estudio destacan los usos y manejos de los recursos literarios que realiza el poeta. Así como, su dominio intelectual de los distintos períodos históricos-culturales de la nación cubana, le sirvieron de base para escribir su pregón polisémico del poemario Sóngoro cosongo y los otros dos pregones del texto prosístico, El Diario que a diario

This article aims to analyse the cohesive function of Latin alliteration in cases in which it serves as an element for linking together the hemistichs in the same line or hemistichs in adjacent lines. At an extra-versal level, three forms of alliterative cohesion are distinguished: 1) by enjambment (the words sounding the same at the start that belong to the same syntactical unit flow over the limits of the line); 2) by vertical correspondence (the words sounding the same at the start are placed in successive lines where they occupy the same metric position); 3) by concatenation at the end of each line and the beginning of the subsequent line (… X/X… X/X…, etc., or … X/X… Y/Y…, etc.). The alliterative cohesion by concatenation at the end of each line and the beginning of the subsequent line has been studied due to its systematic use in ancient Irish poetry, but not in Latin, where, as it is shown in this article, there is evidence of the phenomenon. The existence of this cohesive procedure in Latin is verified in poets from different literary periods: Lucretius, Vergilius, Silius Italicus, Prudentius and Claudius Claudianus. This type of studied concatenation is also found in Greek poetry (Homer, Hesiod, and Aeschylus). This leads us to surmise that it is a phenomenon inherent to the Indo-European tradition., En este artículo tenemos por objeto analizar la función cohesiva de la aliteración latina en aquellos casos en los que sirve de elemento de unión entre los hemistiquios de un mismo verso o los hemistiquios de versos contiguos. A nivel extraversal, la cohesión aliterante reviste tres modalidades: 1) por encabalgamiento (los términos con inicios homófonos, pertenecientes a una misma unidad sintáctica, traspasan los límites del verso), 2) por correspondencia vertical (los términos con inicios homófonos se colocan en versos sucesivos ocupando una idéntica posición métrica), 3) por concatenación en la cláusula de un verso y el comienzo del sucesivo (X/X… X/X…, etc., o X/X… Y/Y…, etc.). La cohesión de versos contiguos por concatenación en la cláusula de un verso y el comienzo del sucesivo ha sido estudiada por su sistemático uso en la poesía antiguo-irlandesa, pero no en latín, donde, como se muestra en el presente artículo, hay evidencias del fenómeno. La existencia de este mecanismo de cohesión en latín se constata en poetas de diferentes periodos literarios: Lucrecio, Virgilio, Silio Itálico, Prudencio y Claudio Claudiano. Este tipo de concatenación estudiado se da también en la poesía griega (Homero, Hesíodo y Esquilo), lo que nos hace suponer que se trata de un fenómeno de tradición indoeuropea.

The purpose of this work is to delve into the deconstruction of the Gypsy archetype through the poetry of José Heredia Maya. This is presented as an original proposal for the renewal of the perception of Gypsy culture in the realm of Spanish poetry. To achieve this, the research focuses on his works "Penar Ocono" (1973), "Camelamos naquerar" (1976), and "Charol" (1983), in which the author from Granada advocates for the inclusive and open identity of his people, as posited by his poetic voice. In this way, an attempt is made to address the questions that underlie the present research: how does the poet deconstruct the existing archetypes and stereotypes about the Gypsy people? What traits does he highlight as shaping the identity of his people? Thus, by understanding the mechanisms that deconstruct the archetype, the work aims to achieve two proposed objectives: to highlight the figure of José Heredia Maya and the originality of his relatively understudied work, and to acquire the tools to disable the springs of the Gypsy archetype, which still persist in contemporary society., El propósito de este trabajo es indagar en la deconstrucción del arquetipo del gitano, a través de la poesía de José Heredia Maya. Esta se presenta como una original propuesta de renovación de la visión de la cultura gitana en el ámbito de la poesía española. Para ello, la investigación se centra en sus obras Penar Ocono (1973), Camelamos naquerar (1976) y Charol (1983), donde el autor granadino reivindica la identidad de su pueblo, inclusiva y abierta, que postula su voz poética. De esta forma, se intenta responder a los interrogantes que originan la presente investigación: ¿cómo deconstruye el poeta los arquetipos y estereotipos existentes sobre el pueblo gitano? ¿Qué rasgos destaca como conformadores de la identidad de su pueblo? Así, comprendiendo los mecanismos que deconstruyen el arquetipo, se intenta la consecución de dos objetivos propuestos: poner en valor la figura de José Heredia Maya y la originalidad de su obra, poco estudiada, por otra parte; y obtener las herramientas para inutilizar los resortes del arquetipo de gitano, no superado en la sociedad actual.

At the end of the 19th century in Spain, the writing of naturalist and modernist authors went beyond Romantic forms and became a reflection of the crisis of bourgeois ideology. An example of this is the literature of the Bohemian José de Siles (1856-1911), a poet on the fringes of the literary canon. The following essay analyses two aesthetic directions in the poetic work of José de Siles, the “writing on the street”, attentive to the miseries of the lower classes, and the “writing from the tower”, which is based on reverie and the refuge of art, with the aim of giving them a historical meaning. Thus, the poetry of José de Siles, as a poet outside the canon, is rescued in order to help compose a historical-literary system and allow a better understanding of the figure of the fin-de-siècle writer in conflict with bourgeois society., A finales del siglo XIX, en España, la escritura de los autores naturalistas y modernistas supera las formas románticas y se convierte en un reflejo de la crisis de la ideología burguesa. Un ejemplo de ello es la literatura del bohemio José de Siles (1856-1911), poeta al margen del canon literario. En el ensayo que sigue se analizan dos direcciones estéticas de la obra poética de José de Siles, la “escritura a pie de calle”, atenta a las miserias de las clases bajas, y la “escritura desde la torre”, detenida en la ensoñación y el refugio del arte, con el objetivo de darles un significado histórico. Así, se rescata la poesía de José de Siles, en tanto que poeta fuera del canon, para ayudar a componer un sistema histórico-literario y permitir que se comprenda mejor la figura del escritor finisecular en conflicto con la sociedad burguesa.

This article studies Foucault´s connection with Charles Baudelaire work, really, the hidden inspiration upon Foucault´s writings. His name rarely appears but he exerts a wide influence upon Foucault´s works. In other words, Baudelaire is rarely mentioned when Foucault reflects the relationship between literature and madness. However, Baudelaire appears with all his magnificence into Foucault´s american interpretation of “What is Enlightenment?” written by Kant. Just in this work, Baudelaire burst into the boundaries of the Enlightenment´s knowledge. The same Baudelaire identifies much more with the tradition of the visionary Swedenborg than Kant´s reflection “What is Enlightenment?”, whose writer was a harsh critic of the Swedish author., Este artículo estudia la conexión de Foucault con Charles Baudelaire, auténtica inspiración en los escritos de Foucault. Rara vez aparece, pero es muy influyente en su obra. Apenas es mencionado cuando se reflexiona sobre la relación entre literatura y locura. Sin embargo, Baudelaire aparece de forma magnífica en la interpretación norteamericana, realizada por Foucault, de “What is Enlightenment? de Kant. Allí, Baudelaire irrumpe para los límites del conocimiento de la Ilustración. Baudelaire se identifica más con la tradición del visionario Swedenborg que con la reflexión de Kant, duro crítico del autor sueco.

Starting from some motifs present in Poesie in forma di rosa, La Divina Mimesis and, above all, Petrolio, we will attend to some motifs of Pasolini’s aesthetic proposal in relation to the critique of the political. What initially appears to be a critique or semiology of society and the political is revealed, over time, as an artistic problem in which art is political and the political is artistic. This issue is nothing more than that of the form as it appears in the works of the poet., A partir de algunos motivos presentes en Poesie in forma di rosa, La Divina Mimesis y, sobre todo, Petrolio, atenderemos algunos motivos de la propuesta estética de Pasolini en relación con la crítica de lo político. Lo que inicialmente parece una crítica o semiología de la sociedad y lo político se revela, con el tiempo, como un problema artístico en el cual el arte es en sí político y lo político es en sí artístico. Este asunto no es más que el de la forma tal y como aparece en las mencionadas obras del poeta.

Les trobes en lahors de la Verge Maria are the first poetic incunabulum of the Hispanic printers, printed in Valencia eight years before the Zamoran incunabula of Antón de Centenera. Most of his poems are in Catalan, but he also includes four poems in Spanish and one in Tuscan. This work focuses on Castilian poetry, to offer its literary study, in terms of content and form, as well as its ecdotic study and the critical edition of the four texts in question., Les trobes en lahors de la Verge Maria son el primer incunable poético de las imprentas hispánicas, impreso en Valencia ocho años antes que los incunables zamoranos de Antón de Centenera. La mayoría de sus poemas son en catalán, pero también incluye cuatro poesías en castellano y una en toscano. Este trabajo se centra en la poesía castellana, para ofrecer su estudio literario, en cuanto al contenido y forma, así como su estudio ecdótico y la edición crítica de los cuatro textos en cuestión.

In order to find out the beliefs that the students in the Degree in Early Childhood Education hold about poetry and its didactics, a qualitative-quantitative questionnaire was applied to 144 1st-year and 83 4th-year students from the universities of Oviedo and Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), on their conception of poetry, their beliefs about teaching it and their perception of their training. They all prioritize the emotional dimension of poetry and highlight the importance of a good oral transmission, but 1st-year students show prejudices regarding the difficulty of poetry, tend to instrumentalize poetic texts and do not know how to provide infant pupils with them. The 4th-year students are more aware of the aesthetic qualities of the poem and reveal some training in the didactics of poetry, although they claim to have an insufficient knowledge of works and text-selection criteria. It is concluded that the degree has both provided an acquaintance with the teaching of poetry and modified certain beliefs, although some training deficiencies and demands persist., Para conocer las creencias del alumnado del Grado de Maestro en Educación Infantil con respecto a la poesía y su didáctica, se aplicó un cuestionario cualitativo-cuantitativo a 144 estudiantes de 1º y 83 de 4º de las universidades de Oviedo y Castilla-La Mancha (España), sobre su concepción de la poesía, sus creencias sobre la enseñanza del género lírico y su percepción sobre la formación recibida. Todos coinciden en priorizar la dimensión emocional de la poesía y en destacar la importancia de una buena transmisión oral, pero el alumnado de 1º muestra prejuicios relativos a la dificultad de la poesía, tiende a instrumentalizar los textos poéticos y desconoce cómo acercarlos al alumnado de infantil. El alumnado de 4º es más consciente de las cualidades estéticas del poema y revela cierta formación en didáctica de la poesía, aunque declara un conocimiento insuficiente de obras y de criterios de selección de textos. Se concluye que la titulación ha aportado un acercamiento a la Didáctica de la Poesía y ha modificado ciertas creencias, si bien persisten algunas carencias y demandas formativas., Pour connaître les croyances des étudiants du diplôme en Professeur des Écoles Maternelles concernant la poésie et sa didactique, un questionnaire qualitatif-quantitatif a été appliqué à 144 étudiants de 1ère année et 83 de 4ème année aux universités d’Oviedo et Castille-La Mancha (Espagne) sur leur conception de la poésie, leurs croyances sur le genre lyrique et leur perception de la formation reçue. Ils s'accordent tous à privilégier la dimension émotionnelle de la poésie et à souligner l'importance d'une bonne transmission orale, mais les étudiants de 1ère année montrent des préjugés quant à la difficulté de la poésie, ont tendance à instrumentaliser les textes poétiques et ne savent pas comment faire découvrir la poésie aux élèves de maternelle. Les étudiants de 4ème sont plus conscients des qualités esthétiques du poème et révèlent une certaine formation en didactique de la poésie, bien qu'ils déclarent une connaissance insuffisante des œuvres et des critères de sélection des textes. On conclut que le diplôme leur a fourni une approche à la didactique de la poésie et a modifié certaines croyances, même si quelques carences et demandes de formation persistent encore.

Bonnefoy's poetry unfolds itself not against philosophy, but against the eidetic framework threaded by Plato. Bonnefoy avoids Platonic ideas at all costs and separates himself from any transcendent function: what is crucial for him is the tangible evidence, the real object, the description of this world that is presented to him in a fragmented way. Thus, against Plato theory of Forms, Bonnefoy emphasized a world reconquered from abstraction, whether philosophical, scientific or day-to-day world., La poesía de Bonnefoy se sitúa, no contra la filosofía, sino contra el entramado eidético entretejido por Platón. Bonnefoy trata de evitar a toda costa las ideas platónicas y se separa de cualquier inclinación trascendente: la existencia concreta, el objeto sensible, la descripción de este mundo que se le presenta de manera fragmentaria y, por ello, esencial, es lo decisivo para el poeta. Así, frente a la realidad metafísica de las ideas, lo que para Bonnefoy se impone como decisivo es un mundo reconquistado a la abstracción, ya sea filosófica, científica o cotidiana.

Amid a period of isolation and profound internal conflict, both in his life and in his thought, arises that which, according to Hölderlin, is “the general conflict in the human being”, namely the conflict between the “aspiration to limitation” and “the aspiration to the absolute”. The aim of this article is to analyze and, as much as possible, follow to its fullest extent, this fundamental thought: to see how it molds Hölderlin’s positions on existence and philosophy, how it meets the most poignant philosophical concerns of the time and hence directly influences Hölderlin’s reading of Fichte, and how it leads the young poet to the notion of an infinite progression of philosophy, that is, to an infinite approximation to the ideal of knowledge.

The present paper aims to show the convergence and continuity, both in terms of subject matter and meaning, of two central works by María Zambrano published in 1939 from the analisis of two categories, realism and rationalism, with which Spain and the rest of Europe are identified respectively. Likewise, it seeks to show that although for the thinker rationalism leads to the anguish of the modern and contemporary subject for having associated the shape of the system, it will find in realism and stoicism, more characteristic of the Hispanic tradition, the possible way out of this anguish in which Europe finds itself in 1939., El presente trabajo pretende mostrar la convergencia y continuidad, tanto de temática como de sentido, de dos obras centrales de María Zambrano publicadas en el año 1939 desde el análisis de dos categorías, realismo y racionalismo, con las que se identifica a España y el resto de Europa respectivamente. Así mismo, se busca poner de manifiesto que si bien para la pensadora el racionalismo desemboca en la angustia del sujeto moderno y contemporáneo por llevar asociada la forma del sistema, encontrará en el realismo y estoicismo, más característicos de la tradición hispana, la posible salida a esta angustia en la que se halla Europa a la altura de 1939.

The essay traces the various stages of the relationship between Pier Paolo Pasolini and Erza Pound. It analyzes the causes of Pasolini’s initial rejection of Pound and his subsequent interest for the American poet. Focusing on the famous and controversial interview entitled An Hour with Erza Pound, and the Poundian intertexual citations in Pilade, Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom, The New Youth, and Petrolio, the author shows how Pound too became one of Pasolini’s many authorial models, the symbol of a scandalous poet with whom Pasolini identified in the last phase of his career., Il saggio ripercorre le fasi del complesso rapporto tra Pier Paolo Pasolini ed Erza Pound, indagando le ragioni del passaggio dall’iniziale rifiuto al successivo interesse  pasoliniano verso l’autore dei Cantos. Julián Marías, who was undoubtedly a prolific humanist, left evidence of his great interest in literature throughout his work. In fact, he wrote about the poetry of many authors, such as Jorge Manrique, Miguel de Unamuno, Rubén Darío, Antonio Machado or Pedro Salinas. The aim of this article is to analyse the interests and ideas which give us a real picture of the philosopher as a reader of poetry., Julián Marías, como humanista ciertamente polígrafo, dejó constancia en sus libros de su gran interés por la literatura. De hecho, escribió sobre la obra poética de autores como Jorge Manrique, Miguel de Unamuno, Rubén Darío, Antonio Machado o Pedro Salinas, entre otros. El objetivo de este trabajo es ahondar en las preferencias y las ideas que puedan darnos una visión genuina de este filósofo como lector de poesía.

Poetry written by women in Spanish has not been given the space it deserves in the curriculum or in secondary school textbooks. To verify the validity of the problem, we analysed the presence of male and female poets in nine current fourth-year textbooks from various publishers, differentiating between the mere mention of these poets and the contribution of a brief biography and/or some poetry. In the theoretical framework, we review the factors leading to the relegation of poetry in secondary schools, recommended practices for successful poetic education, the historical exclusion of women from the canon and the importance of their inclusion, and the recent boom in poetry written by women in Spanish, as well as best-selling poets and the educational implications. Finally, we present the most relevant conclusions for literary education derived from the theoretical review and the analysis of manuals., La poesía escrita por mujeres en español no ha obtenido en el currículum ni en los libros de texto de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) el espacio merecido. Para constatar la vigencia del problema en este trabajo analizamos la presencia de poetas hombres y mujeres en nueve manuales recientes de cuarto curso de distintas editoriales, diferenciando entre la mera mención de estos y el aporte de una breve biografía y/o alguna poesía. En el marco teórico repasamos los factores conducentes a la relegación de la poesía en Secundaria, las prácticas que se aconsejan para una educación poética exitosa, la exclusión histórica de las mujeres del canon y la importancia de su inclusión o el fenómeno del reciente boom de la poesía escrita por mujeres en español y de las poetas best seller y sus implicaciones educativas. Por último, exponemos las conclusiones más relevantes para la educación literaria derivadas de la revisión teórica y del análisis de manuales.

The project in question consists in a Master Plan for the recovery, body and soul, of Rāy Pravīṇ Mahal and its gardens, in Orchā, India. By this we mean, on the one hand, the conservation of the physical monument per se –the body– and, on the other hand, the restoration of its original atmosphere, of its artistic ambient –the soul–. Therefore, it has been sought to rescue and redirect this space: first by consolidating its architectural, pictorial and landscape vestiges, and then giving prominence to women and the development of the ephemeral arts that gave sense to that space: dance, music and poetry. In this article, instead, we will focus on the landscape and the gardens that surrounds the monument., El proyecto en cuestión consiste en un Plan Director para la recuperación, en cuerpo y alma, de Rāy Pravīṇ Mahal y sus jardines, en Orchā, India. Con esto nos referimos, por un lado, a la conservación del monumento físico per se –el cuerpo– y, por el otro, a la restauración de su atmósfera primigenia, de su ambiente artístico –el alma–. Se ha buscado, por tanto, rescatar y redestinar este espacio: primero consolidando sus vestigios arquitectónicos, pictóricos y paisajísticos, para luego cederle el protagonismo a la mujer y al desarrollo de las artes efímeras que dieron sentido a aquel lugar: la danza, la música y la poesía. En el presente artículo, en cambio, nos centraremos en la cuestión paisajística y en los jardines que envuelven al monumento.

This study is framed within the teaching of literature, specifically in the field of poetic education. It examines the discourse of three high school teachers of language and literature, considered as reference instructors in their socio-educational context. The main objective has been to investigate and systematize their visions about the teaching of poetry in the classroom. For this purpose, this study follows a qualitative methodology, focused on a case study that uses the semi structured interview as its main data-collection technique. The data obtained were analyzed through emerging categories, both on theoretical discourse and on methodological discourse about poetic education. The results inform the importance that these teachers give to the personal experience of the reader, the socialization and collective construction of meanings, as well as to the selection of texts based on the didactic objectives and the students’ profile. The discussion of results reinforces the lines of continuity between the visions of this teachers and those of the current teaching of literature., El presente estudio se sitúa en el campo de la didáctica de la literatura, específicamente en el ámbito de la educación poética. Analiza el discurso de tres profesores de lengua y literatura de educación secundaria, considerados como docentes de referencia en sus respectivos contextos socioeducativos. El principal objetivo ha sido conocer y sistematizar su visión sobre la enseñanza de la poesía en las aulas. Se utilizó una metodología cualitativa, concretada en un estudio de caso que tuvo como principal instrumento de recogida de datos la entrevista semiestructurada. Los datos obtenidos fueron analizados mediante categorías emergentes, tanto sobre el discurso teórico, como sobre el discurso metodológico acerca de la educación poética. Los resultados informan acerca de la importancia que estos docentes confieren a la experiencia personal del lector, a la socialización y construcción colectiva de significados, así como a la selección de textos en función de los objetivos didácticos y del perfil del alumnado. La discusión de resultados refuerza las líneas de continuidad existentes entre las visiones de este profesorado y las de la actual didáctica de la literatura.

In 1919 Mexican author José Juan Tablada was the first Spanish-speaking poet to use the haiku when he published Un día… (poemas sintéticos), a book which combines visual and verbal creation simultaneously. A hundred years later, this article studies both of these aspects, as well as some of the ways dialogue is established between them, so as to understand the manner in which the poetic experience is formed through the mixture of western and eastern traditions, En 1919 el poeta mexicano José Juan Tablada introdujo el haikú en la lírica hispánica mediante la publicación de Un día… (poemas sintéticos), una obra que conjuga, de manera simultánea, la creación plástica y verbal. Taking as a starting point the modernizing dynamics adopted by Colombia between 1920 and 1940, this work carries out an ecocritical reading, that is, a reading attentive to the relationships between literature and the natural world, of some of the poems contained in León de Greiff’s Libro de signos (1930). As we will show, a reading of this kind would give us the possibility of atomizing the almost always anthropocentric conception that we’ve had in the country on the phenomenon of violence. This, in turn, would allow us to inscribe the topic of ecological and environmental violence in the broad spectrum of successive violences that the country has experienced throughout its republican history., Tomando como punta de lanza las dinámicas modernizantes adoptadas por Colombia entre 1920 y 1940, este trabajo lleva a cabo una lectura ecocrítica, esto es, atenta a las relaciones que literatura y el mundo natural, de algunos de los poemas de Libro de Signos (1930) de León de Greiff. Una lectura de esta índole, cómo bien habremos de mostrar, posibilitaría dinamitar la concepción, casi siempre antropocéntrica, que se ha tenido sobre el fenómeno de la violencia en el país. Ello, a su vez, permitiría inscribir la temática de la violencia ecológico-ambiental en el amplio espectro de violencias sucesivas que ha sufrido el mismo a lo largo de su historia republicana.

On the occasion of the commemoration of Amado Nervo’s death in 1919, the present article deals reflects on the poetic and personal confluence of two authors professing a mutual admiration: Amado Nervo (Tepic, 1867-Montevideo, 1919) and Juan Ramón Jiménez (Huelva, 1881-San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1958). The Modernist movement and the pursuit of pure poetry, as well as the personal ups and downs of both writers, are some of the aspects that feature in the work of two poets with common poetic lines, Con motivo de la conmemoración del fallecimiento de Amado Nervo en 1919, el presente artículo recoge la confluencia poética y personal de dos autores que comparten admiración mutua: Amado Nervo (Tepic, 1867-Montevideo, 1919) y Juan Ramón Jiménez (Huelva, 1881-San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1958). First cousin to Pondal, uncle and father-in-law to Gonzalo López Abente – the importance of the poet and journalist Victorino Abente y Lago (1846-1935) is equal to that of his most well-known relatives. Juan O’Leary, the great theorist of Paraguayan nationalism, in an article in 1923 described Abente y Lago as the “patriarch of our poetry” and “the first interpreter of nacional sentiment”. This contribution aims to recover the memory of a person –for various reasons forgotten both in Paraguay and in his native Galicia– who played a fundamental part in Paraguayan literary development in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as in the very construction of Paraguayan nationality. In this sense, the works of Abente y Lago can be defined as a tangible though unrecognised projection of Galician culture far beyond its borders. This analysis is organised into three sections. Firstly we examine the secondary literature underlying this study, the basic outline of the poet’s life and the Paraguayan historical context, and secondly the contents and meanings of his most famous composition, La Sibila paraguaya (1886), as well as how it was received by his contemporaries. Finally, in the third section we summarise the later influence of this poem upon Paraguayan literature and thought at the beginning of the twentieth century., Primo carnal de Pondal y tío y suegro de Gonzalo López Abente, la importancia del poeta y periodista Victorino Abente y Lago (1846-1935) no es menor que la de sus parientes ilustres. La presente contribución pretende rescatar la memoria de un personaje –por diversos motivos olvidado tanto en Paraguay como en su Galicia natal– que tuvo un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de las letras paraguayas entre fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX, así como también en la propia formación teórica de la nacionalidad paraguaya. En este sentido, la obra de Abente y Lago puede considerarse como una proyección tangible, aunque no reconocida, de la cultura gallega fuera y lejos de las fronteras de Galicia. This research examines the influence of Romantic poet John Keats on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a Victorian artistic and literary movement. The aim of this paper is to prove how Keats became, moreover, a major connecting link between Romanticism and the Victorian era, thus enabling the continued existence of certain Romantic aesthetic features until the beginning of the twentieth century. In that sense, we will explore how this influence took shape and we will analyse Pre-Raphaelite works of art which have as source of inspiration some of Keats’s well-known poems (“Isabella; or, The Pot of Basil” and “The Eve of St. Agnes”). This examination will allow us to perceive the manner in which these artists devised their pictorial style based on Keatsian pictorialism in poetry, with a special emphasis on the significance of medievalism, and the beauty and sensuousness of his verses, and how they were transferred into their canvases., Esta investigación examina la influencia del poeta romántico John Keats en la Hermandad Prerrafaelita, un movimiento artístico-literario. El objetivo de este trabajo es demostrar la manera en que Keats, además, llegó a convertirse en el nexo de unión  entre el Romanticismo y la época victoriana, lo que permitió, por tanto, la permanencia de ciertas características estéticas hasta principios del siglo XX. En ese sentido, se explorará aquí cómo dicha influencia tomó forma y se analizarán las obras de artes prerrafaelitas que tienen como fuente de inspiración algunos de los célebres poemas de Keats (“Isabella; or, The Pot of Basil” y “The Eve of St. Agnes”). Este análisis nos permitirá comprender la manera en la cual estos artistas crearon su estilo pictórico basado en el pictorialismo de Keats en su poesía, con especial énfasis en la importancia del medievalismo y la belleza y sensualidad de sus versos y cómo estos se transfieren en sus lienzos.

The mirlitonnades are short poems written by Samuel Beckett between 1976 and 1978. These minimalistic pieces reflect the poetic idiosyncrasies in his literary career and also in his personal life. Although Spanish literary culture has not been significantly affected by the work of Samuel Beckett —with some notable exceptions— it is surprising that the mirlitonnades have been translated five times into Spanish. In this study, I will focus on three of those versions —Loreto Casado (1998), Jenaro Talens (2000) and José Luis Reina Palazón (2014)— with the objective of identifying common sources of interest for these translators in Beckett's poems. Attention will also be paid to the main points of convergence among the different versions, as well as their dissimilarities. In addition, the predominant methods that they adopted in translating the mirlitonnades will be examined. The study of their lexical choices will ultimately reveal different approaches to Beckett’s work, as well as the various images of Beckett as a poet that Spanish readers might have acquired through each of these versions., Las mirlitonnades son poemas cortos escritos por Samuel Beckett entre 1976 y 1978. Estas piezas minimalistas representan la idiosincrasia poética predominante tanto en la carrera literaria como en la vida personal de Beckett. Aunque la cultura literaria española no se ha visto afectada significativamente por la obra de Samuel Beckett —con algunas excepciones destacables— es sorprendente que esta colección haya sido traducida cinco veces al castellano. En este estudio he centrado mi atención en tres de esas versiones —la de Loreto Casado (1998), Jenaro Talens (2000) y José Luis Reina Palazón (2014)— con el objetivo de identificar fuentes comunes de interés para estos traductores en los poemas de Beckett. Asimismo, prestaré atención a los principales puntos de convergencia entre las tres versiones, así como sus disimilitudes. El análisis de sus elecciones léxicas finalmente revelará diferentes aproximaciones a la obra de Beckett y las distintas imágenes de Beckett como poeta que los lectores españoles hayan podido percibir a través de cada versión.

S. that, following the contributions of the french hispanist Gabriel Boussagol, allow us to conclude that they were written by Ángel Saavedra, Duque de Rivas., El trabajo recoge una serie de textos que aparecieron en los periódicos El Redactor General y en El Procurador General de la Nación y del Rey, en los años 1812 y 1813, firmados con las iniciales A. S. que, siguiendo las aportaciones del hispanista francés Gabriel Boussagol, nos permiten llegar a la conclusión de que fueron escritos por Ángel Saavedra, Duque de Rivas.

The essay focuses their presence in literature by examining Domenico Tempio’s poetic works and it shows the composite entrance of several words of Spanish origin., L’idioma siciliano è ricchissimo di prestiti linguistici, eredità del passaggio delle varie popolazioni dominatrici avvenuto nel corso dei secoli. Tra di essi, quelli ispanici. Il saggio intende focalizzare la loro presenza in letteratura attraverso l’esame dell’opera del poeta Domenico Tempio e dimostra il composito ingresso di innumerevoli termini di provenienza iberica.

Fawziyya Abū Khālid is a poet from Saudi Arabia, born in Riyadh in 1955. Her poems are appreciated for their form and especially for their content. Through free and blank verses, Abū Khālid expresses all types of human concerns that she shares with lots of her compatriots, such as a woman’s freedom, her relation with men and her identity. It is possible that, in a Western context, these subjects are admirable but not out of the ordinary. Nevertheless, we have to situate ourselves in a Saudi Arabia in which, still in the 21st century, women are subjugated by men in most situations. These issues are those the poet addresses, using language with which she approaches all audiencies and a courage that has earned her the right to become the voice of many Saudi women. Apart from having this important role, Fawziyya Abū Khālid is recognized as one of the most relevant poets of the current Arab landscape for focusing on ideas such as national identity and the support for the Palestinian cause by means of the written word., Fawziyya Abū Jālid es una poeta de Arabia Saudí, nacida en Riad en 1955. Sus poemas son apreciados por su forma y especialmente por su contenido. A través de versos libres y blancos, Abū Jālid expresa todo tipo de preocupaciones humanas que comparte con muchas de sus compatriotas, como la libertad de la mujer, su relación con el hombre y su identidad. Puede que, en un contexto occidental, estos temas sean admirables pero no salidos de lo común. Sin embargo, hay que situarse en una Arabia Saudí en la que, en pleno siglo XXI, la mujer aún está sometida al hombre en la mayoría de las situaciones. Estas reprimendas son a las que la poeta hace frente, mediante un lenguaje con que se acerca a todos los públicos y con una valentía que le ha valido convertirse en la voz de muchas mujeres saudíes. Aparte de tener este importante papel, Fawziyya Abū Jālid es reconocida como una de las poetas más relevantes del panorama árabe actual por centrarse en ideas como la identidad nacional y el apoyo a la causa palestina por medio de la palabra.

This paper reveals a serial of correspondences between Iqbāl’s and Goethe’s thought. Both authors approach with their works the Western and the Eastern imaginary. We will study all these aspects since the next terminology: a desire’s poetics. The meaning of the light, in relation with a mystical participation, is another of the axis points of this paper., A lo largo de las siguientes páginas se establecerán una serie de correspondencias entre Iqbāl y Goethe. Tomando como punto de partida los lazos que ambos autores establecen entre Oriente y Occidente, nos adentraremos en su pensamiento siguiendo el hilo de lo que podría denominarse una poética del deseo. El simbolismo de la luz, en relación con una participación mística por parte del sujeto, se presenta asimismo como eje fundamental de este trabajo.

Our analysis focuses on the presence of French philosophy and literature in the work of the electronic poet Belén Gache. Gache places electronic poetry and her own poetic production in the line of French genealogy, through authors such as Deleuze, Foucault and Derrida—in the case of philosophy—and the avant-garde and neo-avant-garde in the case of literature., Este trabajo analiza la presencia de la filosofía y la literatura francesas en la obra de la poeta electrónica Belén Gache. Gache sitúa la poesía electrónica y su propia producción poética en la línea de la genealogía francesa, a través de autores como Deleuze, Foucault y Derrida, en el caso de la filosofía, y la vanguardia y la neovanguardia en el caso de la literatura., Ce travail analyse la présence de la philosophie et de la littérature françaises dans l’œuvre de la poète électronique Belén Gache. Gache situe la poésie électronique et sa propre production poétique dans la généalogie française, à travers des auteurs tels que Deleuze, Foucault et Derrida, dans le cas de la philosophie, et l’avant-garde et la néo-avant-garde dans le cas de la littérature.

The philosopher and poet Chantal Maillard, at only eleven years of age, left her homeland, Belgium, for Malaga. She has written all her works in Spanish since then, even though she enriched herself culturally by reading philosophical and literary texts in French. This article aims to analyse and highlight the influence of French language on her literary work, as well as the influence of French philosophers, such as Deleuze, and Belgian artists, such as Henri Michaux., Con apenas 11 años, la filósofa y poeta Chantal Maillard abandonó su Bélgica natal para establecerse en Málaga. Desde entonces, aunque su lengua materna era el francés y se nutría de lecturas literarias y filosóficas en dicho idioma, adoptó como lengua vehicular de su escritura el español. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar y poner de manifiesto la influencia y presencia de la lengua francesa en la obra literaria de la escritora, así como la influencia de filósofos franceses como Deleuze y de pintores y poetas belgas como Henri Michaux., À 11 ans, la philosophe et poète Chantal Maillard a quitté sa Belgique natale pour s’installer à Málaga. Depuis lors, et bien que sa langue maternelle soit le français et qu’elle se soit nourrie de lectures littéraires et philosophiques en français, elle a adopté l’espagnol comme langue d’écriture. Cet article vise à analyser et à mettre en évidence l’influence et la présence de la langue française dans l’œuvre littéraire de l’écrivaine, ainsi que l’influence de philosophes français tels que Deleuze et d’artistes et de poètes belges tels que Henri Michaux.
