- Abstract
This article deals with the challenges of designing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for multicultural target groups. The subject of the study is a multilingual learning system for the teaching of information literacy, the Information Literacy Online (ILO) MOOC. It was developed within the context of an Erasmus+ project. By understanding the connection between culture and learning (more precisely e-learning) and by applying a multi-level method, cultural specifics are revealed, assessed and evaluated in order to be able to define adaptation measures. The analysis of the evaluation reveals that the results of several common cultural-analytical methods for determining a target group-oriented design can deviate from the subjective perception of cultural members, which results in a special need for action. The investigation focuses on the Croatian, Spanish and German cultures and reveals divergences in the understanding of user experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
