Pediculosis capitis is a common disease in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. This study aims to describe pediculosis capitis at an Islamic boarding school and the effort to eradicate it. This research is a cross-sectional study that was conducted at a Salafi Islamic boarding school in Cililin Kabupaten Bandung Barat, Indonesia, in October 2018. Respondents of this study were female students with pediculosis capitis. The diagnosis of pediculosis capitis established by the discovery of adults and or viable eggs lice on each case. The number of respondents involved was 45 of 50 female students. The results showed that 44.44% of female students were infected by pediculosis capitis at the Islamic boarding school. As many as 64.44% female students also had a family with pediculosis capitis at their homes. All the female students had made efforts to treat pediculosis capitis. The fine-tooth combs were preferred by female students (97.78%) rather than pediculocides (42.22%). However, appropriate use of fine-tooth combs that can treat pediculosis capitis is only 44.44%. Pediculosis capitis eradication requires simultaneous appropriate treatment both at the Islamic boarding school and at home.
