Digital 3D reconstruction in architecture is a powerful tool for monitoring construction sites, tracking project progress, and ensuring quality control. This method involves the use of digital survey technologies, such as drones, laser scanners, and 3D modelling software, to acquire precise and detailed data on the construction process. If we consider surveying to be a phase of documenting the existing, it is possible to talk about an architectural census as the process of collecting and analysing data on buildings and structures. This information is crucial for management and planning, as it can help identify issues related to building safety, accessibility, and sustainability. The research project aims to quickly obtain a database of documentation and historical, dimensional, morphological, and material knowledge of a university building in the historic centre of Pavia that is now disused, to develop an information system for quick census and monitoring. This contribution presents a process of documentation and conservation of the built Cultural Heritage, tested on a partially disused case study located in the urban fabric of the city of Pavia. The actions defined led to the design and implementation of a tridimensional Information System obtained integrating data collected across different research areas, reality-based models and with the goal of enriching a tool for the documentation and management historical buildings owned by the University of Pavia. The process of documentation, three-dimensional digitisation, and census of the architectural elements on an urban and-architectural scale defines a tool for standardised analyses on building complexes of the same property and for large-scale planning of monitoring and valorisation activities. The research is based on the use of tridimensional Information System, as one of the indicators of the 2030 Agenda, in line with target 11/11.4, to activate a process of reuse and sustainable management of urban heritage. This research aims to define a low-cost replicable methodology for obtaining fast multiscale information models. The experiments carried out were conducted by researchers from Dada LAB and PLAY experimental Laboratories of the University of Pavia, Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, on the case study of the irrigated landscape of the Pavia plain. The entire work process was developed according to a low-cost purpose, starting from fast acquisition activities with UAV instruments, to the processing of photogrammetric data, urban and detailed scale modelling with open-source software, to the census, filing, and computerisation of the model. The resulting product is configured as a multiscale reality-based information system. A census card is associated with each constituent element of the model (crops, canals, valuable hydraulic artefacts). Connection to the GIS platform allows the user to query the model. The result is a digital system oriented to facilitate the management of the agricultural and irrigation landscape, and to digitally document and preserve the heritage of historical hydraulic existing artefacts. Two different GIS platforms for structuring the information system were tested. The first involved a high-budget solution using ESRI ArcGIS Pro/ArcSCENE software, and the second involved using QGIS software, an Open-Source Geographic Information System, to develop an accessible information system without license fees, to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of low-cost processes. The contribution addresses the issue of the integrated survey aimed at three-dimensional modeling for the documentation of different types of terrain through the analysis of two case studies located in the province of Pavia - Italy. The techniques of aerial photogrammetric acquisition SfM (UAVs), Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) and Mobile (MLS) are now consolidated and widely used, managing to meet the needs of documentation of land levelling, monitoring, and analysis of landslide volumes. The two case studies present difficulties due to a strong inclination of the land and extensive presence of vegetation in the first case and to a strong presence of agricultural canalizations in the second case. The data processing phase focused on the comparison between MLS and close-range photogrammetry, while the acquisitions from TLS were used as control data. This acquisition method allows avoiding the process of approximation and reconstruction of the DTM under the vegetation, ensuring the correctness of the data relating to the ground course. The database allows the generation of highly reliable DTMs using specific point cloud modeling and processing software. Fast survey instruments are ideal in large areas or in hilly areas where sub-vertical sections and covered by vegetation are often present, difficult to detect only with close-range photogrammetry. This paper describes a sequence of actions developed to guarantee a reliable and suitable dataset for the creation of detailed ortho images of Nativity Church mosaics. During acquisition campaigns, different photogrammetric techniques were tested, and different survey instruments were compared to improve the quality of the data obtained. The different outputs allow the adjustment of the instrument parameters and the acquisition methods, to structure a methodological process aimed at obtaining an accurate level of detail to describe the individual mosaic tile.From the realization of a reliable photomosaics an automatic vectorization system has been developed. This process, aimed at digitizing the tiles of the Church walls and the pavement mosaics, responds to a documentation and management purpose and to an objective of structuring a data acquisition method and post-production that can be replicated on other mosaic contexts.
