The article presents commentary on the "Mommy Wars," or the social questions regarding child care and full-time working mothers. The author describes her own experiences as a college professor and worrying about the developmental health of her children when she opted to use child care services and return to teaching. An overview of psychological research concerning the welfare of child care-raised children is provided, questioning the objectivity of the findings. Additional questions are raised concerning the inherently female-centric nature of the issue, pointing out the lack of interest in father-child interaction in such studies.
