Abstract
The article features M. Madeline Southard who is known among Methodists for promoting the ecclesiastical rights of women specifically in opening up ordination to women in the Methodist Church and for founding the International Association of Women Ministers (IAWM) in 1919. Topics discussed include her theological writings such as "The Attitude of Jesus Toward Woman" which focused on women's rights and motherhood, and her journals which revealed conflicts with the domestic ideal.
