Abstract

To study the performance of opposed piston opposed cylinder (OPOC) engine, a unique computation model for OPOC engine is established with GT-power software, and its key design parameters, such as intake and exhaust port diameters, intake pressure, injection timing and the number and diameter of nozzle holes are optimized. The results indicate that the model suits to the performance simulation of OPOC engine, with its performance indicators in three typical operating conditions achieving expected objectives.
