Abstract

The article provides information on a study which investigated whether the intramuscular content of the low molecular mass polypeptide 7 (LMP7) and multicatalytic endopeptidase complex-like 1 (MECL-1) immunoproteasome (iProt) subunits were altered in wild-type (WT) mice with diet-induced obesity (DIO). Topics discussed include importance of the proteasome system, which is a major cellular pathway for protein degradation, and estimation of muscle damage following exercise.
