Reports on development in the forestry sector in Northern Ontario as of February 2003. Joint field trip of the section members with Dr. Pulkki's class from the Faculty of Forestry; Analysis of the demands placed upon such water crossing to meet the environmental standards.

The article reports on the announcement of Trees Ontario, a nonprofit organization, regarding the expansion of the 50 Million Tree Program in Northren Ontario to re-green landscapes and fight climate change. Topics include the tree planting in Desbarats which involved the elementary students from Johnson-Tarbutt Central School, the comment of Rob Keen of the organization on the creation of greener community, and identifying potential planting delivery agents (PDAs).

The article focuses on the consideration of the town of Cochrane in northern Ontario to build a truck bypass route around the city. The idea has made the surrounding communities understand on how it will affect their economy without seeing first the asphalt being poured. This is made possible on the used of the Lake Abitibi Model Forest Regional Community Constellation Impact Model. It is a socio-economic model which is capable of predicting how a development in one community will impact the entire region.
