Background: Chronic pain was associated with a higher risk of mental disorders (e.g., depression and anxiety). However, the role of 24-h movement behaviors in the association remains unclear., Methods: A total of 72,800 participants with accelerometer data and free of mental disorders from the UK Biobank were analyzed. The compositional mediation model and isotemporal substitution model were used to explore the associations between chronic pain, 24-h movement behaviors, and the incidence of overall mental disorders, depression, and anxiety., Results: With a median follow-up of 13.36 years, participants with chronic pain had a higher rate of incident overall mental disorders (hazard ratio (HR): 1.281, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.219 to 1.344), anxiety (HR: 1.391, 95% CI: 1.280 to 1.536), and depression (HR: 1.703, 95% CI: 1.551 to 1.871). Increased sedentary behavior (SB) and reduced moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) caused by chronic pain both increased the risk of mental disorders. Twenty-four-hour movement behaviors explained the relationship between chronic pain and overall mental disorders, depression, and anxiety by 10.77%, 5.70%, and 6.86%, respectively. Interaction effects were found between MVPA and chronic pain when predicting the incidence of depression and between MVPA, sleep (SLP), and chronic pain when predicting the incidence of mental disorders. People with chronic pain would recommend at least 0.5 h per day of MVPA and 7 h per day of SLP and restricting SB below 11.5 h per day., Conclusions: Twenty-four-hour movement behaviors played a significant mediating role in the association between chronic pain and mental disorders. The proficient handling of diabetic wounds, a rising issue coinciding with the global escalation of diabetes cases, poses significant clinical difficulties. A range of biofunctional dressings have been engineered and produced to expedite the healing process of diabetic wounds. This study proposes a multifunctional hydrogel dressing for diabetic wound healing, which is composed of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and N 1 -(4-boronobenzyl)-N 3 -(4-boronophenyl)-N 1 , N 1 , N 3 , N 3 -teramethylpropane-1, 3-diaminium (TSPBA), and a dual-drug loaded Gelatin methacryloyl (GM) microgel. The GM microgel is loaded with sodium fusidate (SF) and nanoliposomes (LP) that contain metformin hydrochloride (MH). Notably, adhesive and self-healing properties the hydrogel enhance their therapeutic potential and ease of application. In vitro assessments indicate that SF-infused hydrogel can eliminate more than 98% of bacteria within 24 h and maintain a sustained release over 15 days. Additionally, MH incorporated within the hydrogel has demonstrated effective glucose level regulation for a duration exceeding 15 days. The hydrogel demonstrates a sustained ability to neutralize ROS throughout the entire healing process, predominantly by electron donation and sequestration. This multifunctional hydrogel dressing, which integrated biological functions of efficient bactericidal activity against both MSSA and MRSA strains, blood glucose modulation, and control of active oxygen levels, has successfully promoted the healing of diabetic wounds in rats in 14 days. Purpose: To examine residents' first-aid kit preparation and its influencing factors., Design: Cross-sectional survey., Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 449 permanent residents in Sichuan Province using convenience sampling. We examined participants' demographic characteristics, self-efficacy, health literacy, and personality., Findings: Of the participants, 111 (24.7%) stocked a home first-aid kit. The most frequent supplies were disinfection supplies (91.9%), common medicines (86.5%), and dressing supplies (76.6%). Family per capita monthly income, medical expenses payment method, chronic diseases, general self-efficacy, and health literacy were influencing factors of family first-aid kit preparedness., Conclusion: A multilevel and interactive emergency literacy education system should be established to improve residents' abilities to prevent emergencies., (© 2024. Background: Diabetic wounds present significant challenges, specifically in terms of bacterial infection and delayed healing. Therefore, it is crucial to address local bacterial issues and promote accelerated wound healing. In this investigation, we utilized electrospinning to fabricate microgel/nanofiber membranes encapsulating MXene-encapsulated microgels and chitosan/gelatin polymers., Results: The film dressing facilitates programmed photothermal therapy (PPT) and mild photothermal therapy (MPTT) under near-infrared (NIR), showcasing swift and extensive antibacterial and biofilm-disrupting capabilities. The PPT effect achieves prompt sterilization within 5 min at 52 °C and disperses mature biofilm within 10 min. Concurrently, by adjusting the NIR power to induce local mild heating (42 °C), the dressing stimulates fibroblast proliferation and migration, significantly enhancing vascularization. Moreover, in vivo experimentation successfully validates the film dressing, underscoring its immense potential in addressing the intricacies of diabetic wounds., Conclusions: The MXene microgel-loaded nanofiber dressing employs temperature-coordinated photothermal therapy, effectively amalgamating the advantageous features of high-temperature sterilization and low-temperature promotion of wound healing. It exhibits rapid, broad-spectrum antibacterial and biofilm-disrupting capabilities, exceptional biocompatibility, and noteworthy effects on promoting cell proliferation and vascularization. Background: Lung cancer (LC), characterized by high incidence and mortality rates, presents a significant challenge in oncology. Despite advancements in treatments, early detection remains crucial for improving patient outcomes. The accuracy of screening for LC by detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled breath remains to be determined., Methods: Our systematic review, following PRISMA guidelines and analyzing data from 25 studies up to October 1, 2023, evaluates the effectiveness of different techniques in detecting VOCs. We registered the review protocol with PROSPERO and performed a systematic search in PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science. Reviewers screened the studies' titles/abstracts and full texts, and used QUADAS-2 tool for quality assessment. Then performed meta-analysis by adopting a bivariate model for sensitivity and specificity., Results: This study explores the potential of VOCs in exhaled breath as biomarkers for LC screening, offering a non-invasive alternative to traditional methods. In all studies, exhaled VOCs discriminated LC from controls. The meta-analysis indicates an integrated sensitivity and specificity of 85% and 86%, respectively, with an AUC of 0.93 for VOC detection. We also conducted a systematic analysis of the source of the substance with the highest frequency of occurrence in the tested compounds. Despite the promising results, variability in study quality and methodological challenges highlight the need for further research., Conclusion: This review emphasizes the potential of VOC analysis as a cost-effective, non-invasive screening tool for early LC detection, which could significantly improve patient management and survival rates., (© 2024. Background: The role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) as biomarkers of coronary artery disease (CAD) remains poorly explored. This study aimed to identify and validate potential circulating circRNAs as biomarkers for the diagnosis of CAD., Methods: The expression profile of circRNAs associated with CAD was obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Differential expression analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operation (LASSO) were employed to identify CAD-related hub circRNAs. The expression levels of these hub circRNAs were validated using qRT-PCR in blood samples from 100 CAD patients and 100 controls. The diagnostic performance of these circRNAs was evaluated through logistic regression analysis, receiver operator characteristic (ROC) analysis, integrated discrimination improvement (IDI), and net reclassification improvement (NRI). Functional enrichment analyses were performed to predict the possible mechanisms of circRNAs in CAD., Results: A total of ten CAD-related hub circRNAs were identified through WGCNA and LASSO analysis. Among them, hsa_circ_0069972 and hsa_circ_0021509 were highly expressed in blood samples of CAD patients, and they were identified as independent predictors after adjustment for relevant confounders. The area under the ROC curve for hsa_circ_0069972 and hsa_circ_0021509 was 0.760 and 0.717, respectively. The classification of patients was improved with the incorporation of circRNAs into the clinical model composed of conventional cardiovascular risk factors, showing an IDI of 0.131 and NRI of 0.170 for hsa_circ_0069972, and an IDI of 0.111 and NRI of 0.150 for hsa_circ_0021509. Functional enrichment analyses revealed that the hsa_circ_0069972-miRNA-mRNA network was enriched in TGF-β、FoxO and Hippo signaling pathways, while the hsa_circ_0021509-miRNA-mRNA network was enriched in PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling pathways., Conclusion: Hsa_circ_0069972 and hsa_circ_0021509 were identified by integrated analysis, and they are highly expressed in CAD patients. Background: It's unclear if excess visceral adipose tissue (VAT) mass in individuals with prediabetes can be countered by adherence to a Mediterranean lifestyle (MEDLIFE). We aimed to examine VAT mass, MEDLIFE adherence, and their impact on type 2 diabetes (T2D) and diabetic microvascular complications (DMC) in individuals with prediabetes., Methods: 11,267 individuals with prediabetes from the UK Biobank cohort were included. VAT mass was predicted using a non-linear model, and adherence to the MEDLIFE was evaluated using the 25-item MEDLIFE index, encompassing categories such as "Mediterranean food consumption," "Mediterranean dietary habits," and "Physical activity, rest, social habits, and conviviality." Both VAT and MEDLIFE were categorized into quartiles, resulting in 16 combinations. Incident cases of T2D and related DMC were identified through clinical records. Cox proportional-hazards regression models were employed to examine associations, adjusting for potential confounding factors., Results: Over a median follow-up of 13.77 years, we observed 1408 incident cases of T2D and 714 cases of any DMC. High adherence to the MEDLIFE, compared to the lowest quartile, reduced a 16% risk of incident T2D (HR: 0.84, 95% CI: 0.71-0.98) and 31% for incident DMC (0.69, 0.56-0.86). Conversely, compared to the lowest quartile of VAT, the highest quartile increased the risk of T2D (5.95, 4.72-7.49) and incident any DMC (1.79, 1.36-2.35). We observed an inverse dose-response relationship between MEDLIFE and T2D/DMC, and a dose-response relationship between VAT and all outcomes (P for trend < 0.05). Restricted cubic spline analysis confirmed a nearly linear dose-response pattern across all associations. Compared to individuals with the lowest MEDLIFE quartile and highest VAT quartile, those with the lowest T2D risk had the lowest VAT and highest MEDLIFE (0.12, 0.08-0.19). High MEDLIFE was linked to reduced T2D risk across all VAT categories, except in those with the highest VAT quartile. Similar trends were seen for DMC., Conclusion: High adherence to MEDLIFE reduced T2D and MDC risk in individuals with prediabetes, while high VAT mass increases it, but MEDLIFE adherence may offset VAT's risk partly. Diabetic wounds pose a challenge to healing due to increased bacterial susceptibility and poor vascularization. Effective healing requires simultaneous bacterial and biofilm elimination and angiogenesis stimulation. In this study, we incorporated polyaniline (PANI) and S-Nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) into a polyvinyl alcohol, chitosan, and hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride chitosan (PVA/CS/HTCC) matrix, creating a versatile wound dressing membrane through electrospinning. The dressing combines the advantages of photothermal antibacterial therapy and nitric oxide gas therapy, exhibiting enduring and effective bactericidal activity and biofilm disruption against methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli. Furthermore, the membrane's PTT effect and NO release exhibit significant synergistic activation, enabling a nanodetonator-like burst release of NO through NIR irradiation to disintegrate biofilms. Importantly, the nanofiber sustained a uniform release of nitric oxide, thereby catalyzing angiogenesis and advancing cellular migration. Ultimately, the employment of this membrane dressing culminated in the efficacious amelioration of diabetic-infected wounds in Sprague-Dawley rats, achieving wound closure within a concise duration of 14 days. Upon applying NIR irradiation to the PVA-CS-HTCC-PANI-GSNO nanofiber membrane, it swiftly eradicates bacteria and biofilm within 5 min, enhancing its inherent antibacterial and anti-biofilm properties through the powerful synergistic action of PTT and NO therapy. Background: Recent evidences have shown sex-differential cognitive deficits in bipolar disorder (BD) and differences in cognitions across BD subtypes. However, the sex-specific effect on cognitive impairment in BD subtype II (BD-II) remains obscure. The aim of the current study was to examine whether cognitive deficits differ by gender in youth with BD-II depression., Method: This cross-sectional study recruited 125 unmedicated youths with BD-II depression and 140 age-, sex-, and education-matched healthy controls (HCs). The Chinese version of the Measurement and Treatment Research to Improve Cognition in Schizophrenia (MATRICS) Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) was used to assess cognitive functions. Mood state was assessed using the 24-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (24-HDRS) and the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS). Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was conducted., Result: ​Compared with HCs, patients with BD-II depression had lower scores on MCCB composite and its seven cognitive domains (all p < 0.001). After controlling for age and education, MANCOVA revealed significant gender-by-group interaction on attention/vigilance (F = 6.224, df = 1, p = 0.013), verbal learning (F = 9.847, df = 1, p = 0.002), visual learning (F = 4.242, df = 1, p = 0.040), and composite (F = 8.819, df = 1, p = 0.003). Post hoc analyses suggested that males performed worse in the above-mentioned MCCB tests than females in BD-II depression., Conclusion: Our study demonstrated generalized cognitive deficits in unmedicated youths with BD-II depression. Background: Promoting the synchronization of glucose and amino acid release in the digestive tract of pigs could effectively improve dietary nitrogen utilization. The rational allocation of dietary starch sources and the exploration of appropriate dietary glucose release kinetics may promote the dynamic balance of dietary glucose and amino acid supplies. However, research on the effects of diets with different glucose release kinetic profiles on amino acid absorption and portal amino acid appearance in piglets is limited. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the kinetic pattern of dietary glucose release on nitrogen utilization, the portal amino acid profile, and nutrient transporter expression in intestinal enterocytes in piglets., Methods: Sixty-four barrows (15.00 ± 1.12 kg) were randomly allotted to 4 groups and fed diets formulated with starch from corn, corn/barley, corn/sorghum, or corn/cassava combinations (diets were coded A, B, C, or D respectively). Protein retention, the concentrations of portal amino acid and glucose, and the relative expression of amino acid and glucose transporter mRNAs were investigated. In vitro digestion was used to compare the dietary glucose release profiles., Results: Four piglet diets with different glucose release kinetics were constructed by adjusting starch sources. The in vivo appearance dynamics of portal glucose were consistent with those of in vitro dietary glucose release kinetics. Total nitrogen excretion was reduced in the piglets in group B, while apparent nitrogen digestibility and nitrogen retention increased (P < 0.05). Regardless of the time (2 h or 4 h after morning feeding), the portal total free amino acids content and contents of some individual amino acids (Thr, Glu, Gly, Ala, and Ile) of the piglets in group B were significantly higher than those in groups A, C, and D (P < 0.05). Cluster analysis showed that different glucose release kinetic patterns resulted in different portal amino acid patterns in piglets, which decreased gradually with the extension of feeding time. The portal His/Phe, Pro/Glu, Leu/Val, Lys/Met, Tyr/Ile and Ala/Gly appeared higher similarity among the diet treatments. In the anterior jejunum, the glucose transporter SGLT1 was significantly positively correlated with the amino acid transporters B 0 AT1, EAAC1, and CAT1., Conclusions: Rational allocation of starch resources could regulate dietary glucose release kinetics. In the present study, group B (corn/barley) diet exhibited a better glucose release kinetic pattern than the other groups, which could affect the portal amino acid contents and patterns by regulating the expression of amino acid transporters in the small intestine, thereby promoting nitrogen deposition in the body, and improving the utilization efficiency of dietary nitrogen., (© 2024. Caroli's syndrome is a congenital disease characterized by dilation of intrahepatic bile ducts and congenital hepatic fibrosis. It is a rare condition in clinical work. Typically, the diagnosis of this disease is confirmed through medical imaging. Here, we report a case of atypical Caroli's syndrome in a patient who presented with recurrent upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding. The patient underwent imaging examinations, liver biopsy and whole exome sequencing. The results of the imaging examination were non-specific. However, with the aid of pathological examination, the patient was diagnosed with Caroli's syndrome. In conclusion, for cases where the imaging presentation of Caroli's syndrome is inconclusive, an accurate diagnosis should rely on pathology. By discussing this specific case, our aim is to enhance readers' understanding of this disease, provide valuable information that can aid in the early detection and appropriate management of Caroli's syndrome, ultimately improving patient outcomes., (© 2024. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the public acceptance of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) control measures during the Omicron-dominant period and its associated factors., Methods: A cross-sectional design was conducted and 1391 study participants were openly recruited to participate in the questionnaire survey. Logistic regression model was performed to assess the association between the public acceptance and potential factors more specifically., Results: By August 26, 2022, 58.9% of the study participants were less acceptive of the control measures while 41.1% expressed higher acceptance. Factors associated with lower acceptance included young age, such as < 18 (OR = 8.251, 95% CI: 2.009 to 33.889) and 18-29 (OR = 2.349, 95% CI: 1.564 to 3.529), and household per capita monthly income lower than 5000 yuan (OR = 1.512, 95% CI: 1.085 to 2.105). Furthermore, individuals who perceived that the case fatality rate (CFR) of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) was very low (OR = 6.010, 95% CI: 2.475 to 14.595) and that the restrictions could be eased once the CFR dropped to 2-3 times of the influenza (OR = 2.792, 95% CI: 1.939 to 4.023) showed greater oppositional attitudes. Likewise, respondents who were dissatisfied with control measures (OR = 9.639, 95% CI: 4.425 to 20.998) or preferred fully relaxation as soon as possible (OR = 13.571, 95% CI: 7.751 to 23.758) had even lower acceptability. By contrast, rural residents (OR = 0.683, 95% CI: 0.473 to 0.987), students (OR = 0.510, 95% CI: 0.276 to 0.941), public (OR = 0.417, 95% CI: 0.240 to 0.727) and private (OR = 0.562, 95% CI: 0.320 to 0.986) employees, and vaccinated participants (OR = 0.393, 95% CI: 0.204 to 0.756) were more compliant with control measures., Conclusion: More than half of the Chinese public were less supportive of COVID-19 control measures during Omicron-dominant period, which varied based on their different demographic characteristics, cognition and overall attitude towards SARS-CoV-2 infection. Background: Patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) caused by obesity have increased in recent years. The impact of obesity on long-term outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with or without DM remains unclear., Methods: We retrospectively analysed data from 1918 patients who underwent PCI. Patients were categorized into four groups based on body mass index (BMI, normal weight: BMI < 25 kg/m 2 ; overweight and obese: BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2 ) and DM status (presence or absence). The primary endpoint was the occurrence of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE; defined as all-cause death, myocardial infarction, stroke, and unplanned repeat revascularization)., Results: During a median follow-up of 7.0 years, no significant differences in MACCE, myocardial infarction, or stroke were observed among the four groups. Overweight and obese individuals exhibited lower all-cause mortality rates compared with normal-weight patients (without DM: hazard ratio [HR]: 0.54, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.37 to 0.78; with DM: HR: 0.57, 95% CI: 0.38 to 0.86). In non-diabetic patients, the overweight and obese group demonstrated a higher risk of unplanned repeat revascularization than the normal-weight group (HR:1.23, 95% CI:1.03 to 1.46). After multivariable adjustment, overweight and obesity were not significantly associated with MACCE, all-cause death, myocardial infarction, stroke, or unplanned repeat revascularization in patients with and without diabetes undergoing PCI., Conclusion: Overweight and obesity did not demonstrate a significant protective effect on long-term outcomes in patients with and without diabetes undergoing PCI., (© 2024. Background: Studies have confirmed that Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (IBRV) infection induces mitochondrial damage. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of noncoding RNA molecules, which are involved in various biological processes and pathological changes associated with mitochondrial damage. It is currently unclear whether miRNAs participate in IBRV-induced mitochondrial damage in Madin-Darby bovine kidney (MDBK) cells., Results: In the present study, we used high-throughput sequencing technology, Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis to screen for mitochondria-related miRNAs and messenger RNAs (mRNAs). In total, 279 differentially expressed miRNAs and 832 differentially expressed mRNAs were identified in 6 hours (IBRV1) versus 24 hours (IBRV2) after IBRV infection in MDBK cells. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that 42 differentially expressed mRNAs and 348 target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs were correlated with mitochondrial damage, and the miRNA-mitochondria-related target genes regulatory network was constructed to elucidate their potential regulatory relationships. Among the 10 differentially expressed miRNAs, 8 showed expression patterns consistent with the high-throughput sequencing results. Functional validation results showed that overexpression of miR-10a and miR-182 aggravated mitochondrial damage, while inhibition of miR-10a and miR-182 alleviated mitochondrial damage., Conclusions: This study not only revealed the expression changes of miRNAs and mRNAs in IBRV-infected MDBK cells, but also revealed possible biological regulatory relationship between them. MiR-10a and miR-182 may have the potential to be developed as biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of IBRV. Background: This study was conducted to develop and validate an individualized prediction model for spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) in twin pregnancies., Methods: This a retrospective cohort study included 3845 patients who gave birth at the Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2017 to December 2022. Both univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to find factors associated with sPTB. The associations were estimated using the odds ratio (OR) and the 95% confidence interval (CI). Model performance was estimated using sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and decision curve analysis (DCA)., Results: A total of 1313 and 564 cases were included in the training and testing sets, respectively. In the training set, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that age ≥ 35 years (OR, 2.28; 95% CI 1.67-3.13), pre-pregnancy underweight (OR, 2.36; 95% CI 1.60-3.47), pre-pregnancy overweight (OR, 1.67; 95% CI 1.09-2.56), and obesity (OR, 10.45; 95% CI, 3.91-27.87), nulliparity (OR, 0.58; 95% CI 0.41-0.82), pre-pregnancy diabetes (OR, 5.81; 95% CI 3.24-10.39), pre-pregnancy hypertension (OR, 2.79; 95% CI 1.44-5.41), and cervical incompetence (OR, 5.12; 95% CI 3.08-8.48) are independent risk factors for sPTB in twin pregnancies. The AUC of the training and validation set was 0.71 (95% CI 0.68-0.74) and 0.68 (95% CI 0.64-0.73), respectively. And then we integrated those risk factors to construct the nomogram., Conclusions: The nomogram developed for predicting the risk of sPTB in pregnant women with twins demonstrated good performance. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between dose-volume parameters of pelvic FBM and hematologic toxicity (HT) during radiotherapy with or without concurrent chemotherapy for uterine cervical/endometrial cancer., Methods: From December 2016 to September 2021, ninety-seven uterine cervical/endometrial cancer patients received intensity-modulated radiation therapy were prospectively recruited in this single-arm, prospective, phase II trial. Blood counts were reviewed weekly during radiotherapy. Single- and multifactor regression methods were used to analyze the relationships between dose-volume parameters of FBM 1/2 and grade ≥ 2 HT. ROC curves were used to determine the cutoff values for the dose-volume parameters of FBM 1/2 ., Results: The incidence of grade ≥ 2 leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and anemia in patients during radiotherapy was 63.9%, 45.4%, 19.6% and 38.8% respectively, and the median occurrence time was the 29th, 42th, 35th and 31th day, respectively. Multivariate regression analysis showed that the D max of FBM 1 was significantly related to grade ≥ 2 leukopenia (OR = 1.277 95% CI 1.067-1.528, P = 0.008), D mean of FBM 2 was significantly related to grade ≥ 2 thrombocytopenia (OR = 1.262 95% CI 1.066-1.494, P = 0.007), and V 10 of FBM 1 was significantly related to grade ≥ 2 anemia (OR = 1.198 95% CI 1.003-1.431, P = 0.046). The incidence of grade ≥ 2 leukopenia for patients with FBM 1 D max < 53 Gy was lower than that for patients with FBM 1 D max ≥ 53 Gy (53.4% vs. 95.8%, P < 0.001). The incidence of grade ≥ 2 thrombocytopenia in patients with FBM 2 D mean < 33 Gy was lower than that in patients with FBM 2 D mean ≥ 33 Gy (0 vs. 28.4%, P < 0.001). The incidence of grade ≥ 2 anemia for patients with FBM 1 V 10  < 95% was lower than that in patients with FBM 1 V 10  ≥ 95% (24.4% vs. 57.1%, P = 0.003)., Conclusions: Grade ≥ 2 HT usually occurs in the 4th week of radiotherapy for patients with uterine cervical/endometrial cancer. The D max and V 10 of FBM 1 and the D mean of FBM 2 were significantly associated with the occurrence of grade ≥ 2 HT. Objective: The gut microbial composition has been linked to metabolic and autoimmune diseases, including arthritis. However, there is a dearth of knowledge on the gut bacteriome, mycobiome, and virome in patients with gouty arthritis (GA)., Methods: We conducted a comprehensive analysis of the multi-kingdom gut microbiome of 26 GA patients and 28 healthy controls, using whole-metagenome shotgun sequencing of their stool samples., Results: Profound alterations were observed in the gut bacteriome, mycobiome, and virome of GA patients. We identified 1,117 differentially abundant bacterial species, 23 fungal species, and 4,115 viral operational taxonomic units (vOTUs). GA-enriched bacteria included Escherichia coli&#95;D GENOME144544, Bifidobacterium infantis GENOME095938, Blautia&#95;A wexlerae GENOME096067, and Klebsiella pneumoniae GENOME147598, while control-enriched bacteria comprised Faecalibacterium prausnitzii&#95;G GENOME147678, Agathobacter rectalis GENOME143712, and Bacteroides&#95;A plebeius&#95;A GENOME239725. GA-enriched fungi included opportunistic pathogens like Cryptococcus neoformans GCA&#95;011057565, Candida parapsilosis GCA&#95;000182765, and Malassezia spp., while control-enriched fungi featured several Hortaea werneckii subclades and Aspergillus fumigatus GCA&#95;000002655. GA-enriched vOTUs mainly attributed to Siphoviridae, Myoviridae, Podoviridae, and Microviridae, whereas control-enriched vOTUs spanned 13 families, including Siphoviridae, Myoviridae, Podoviridae, Quimbyviridae, Phycodnaviridae, and crAss-like. A co-abundance network revealed intricate interactions among these multi-kingdom signatures, signifying their collective influence on the disease. Furthermore, these microbial signatures demonstrated the potential to effectively discriminate between patients and controls, highlighting their diagnostic utility., Conclusions: This study yields crucial insights into the characteristics of the GA microbiota that may inform future mechanistic and therapeutic investigations., (© 2023. Introduction: Under globalization, human settlement has become a major risk factor affecting life. The relationship between humans and the environment is crucial for improving community resilience and coping with globalization. This study focuses on the key contradictions of community development under globalization, exploring community resilience by analyzing the mismatch between residents' health activities and the environment., Methods: Using data from Shanghai downtown, including land use, Sports app, geospatial and urban statistics, this paper constructs a comprehensive community resilience index (CRI) model based on the DPSIR model. This model enables quantitative analysis of the spatial and temporal distribution of Community Human Settlement Resilience (CR). Additionally, the paper uses geodetector and Origin software to analyze the coupling relationship between drivers and human settlement resilience., Results: i) The scores of CR showed a "slide-shaped" fluctuation difference situation; ii) The spatial pattern of CR showed a "pole-core agglomeration and radiation" type and a "ring-like agglomeration and radiation" type. iii) Distance to bus stops, average annual temperature, CO 2 emissions, building density and number of jogging trajectories are the dominant factors affecting the resilience level of community human settlement., Conclusion: This paper contributes to the compilation of human settlement evaluation systems globally, offering insights into healthy community and city assessments worldwide. Background: The long-term dynamic recurrence hazard of locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) in the clinical setting of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) remains unclear., Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the dynamic recurrence risk of LAGC in patients who received ACT or not., Methods: The study assessed data from patients with LAGC who underwent radical gastrectomy between January, 2010 and October, 2015. Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) was performed to reduce selection bias between the ACT and observational (OBS) groups. Conditional recurrence-free survival (cRFS) and restricted mean survival time (RMST) were used to assess the survival differences., Results: In total, 1,661 LAGC patients were included (ACT group, n = 1,236 and OBS group, n = 425). The recurrence hazard gradually declined; in contrast, cRFS increased with RFS already accrued. Following IPTW adjustment, the cRFS rates were higher in the ACT group than those in the OBS group for patients at baseline or with accrued RFS of 1 and 2 years (p˂0.05). However, the cRFS rates of the ACT group were comparable with those of the OBS group for patients with accrued RFS of 3 or more years (p > 0.05). Likewise, the 5-year △RMST between the ACT and OBS groups demonstrated a similar trend. Moreover, the hematological metastasis rate of the ACT group was significantly lower than that of the OBS group for patients at baseline or with accrued RFS of 1 and 2 years, respectively (p˂0.05)., Conclusions: Although ACT could provide substantial benefits for patients with LAGC, the differences in recurrence hazard between the ACT and OBS groups may attenuate over time, which could help guide surveillance and alleviate patients' anxiety. Background: Velamentous cord insertion (VCI) and marginal cord insertion (MCI) are well-known risk factors for adverse perinatal outcomes in singleton pregnancies. However, the potential links between VCI or MCI and perinatal outcomes in twin pregnancies have yet to be systematically evaluated. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between VCI or MCI and perinatal outcomes in twin pregnancies., Methods: This retrospective single-center cohort study included women with twin pregnancies who gave birth in a tertiary hospital in Southwest, China between January 2017 and December 2022. VCI and MCI were identified by abdominal ultrasound and confirmed after placental delivery. Logistic regression, multinomial logit regression and generalized estimation equation models were used to evaluate the association between VCI or MCI and perinatal outcomes., Results: A total of 3682 twin pregnancies were included, including 100 (2.7%) pregnancies with VCI and 149 (4.0%) pregnancies with MCI. Compared to pregnancies with normal cord insertion, both monochorionic and dichorionic pregnancies with VCI were associated with an increased risk of preterm delivery 32-34 weeks (aRRR 2.94, 95% CI 1.03-8.39; aRRR 2.55, 95% CI 1.19-5.46, respectively), while pregnancies with MCI were not associated with preterm delivery. VCI was associated with a higher incidence of placental previa (aOR 6.36, 95% CI 1.92-21.04) in monochorionic pregnancies and placental accreta (aOR 1.85, 95% CI 1.06-3.23) in dichorionic pregnancies. MCI was associated with an increased risk of preeclampsia (aOR 3.07, 95% CI 1.49-6.32), intertwin birthweight discordance ≥ 20% (aOR 2.40, 95% CI 1.08-5.60) and selective fetal growth restriction (aOR 2.46, 95% CI 1.08-5.60) in monochorionic pregnancies and small-for-gestational age neonates (aOR 1.97, 95% CI 1.24-3.14) in dichorionic pregnancies., Conclusions: VCI was associated with an increased risk of preterm delivery in twin pregnancies irrespective of chorionicity, whereas MCI was associated with an increased preeclampsia risk, significant intertwin birthweight discordance in monochorionic pregnancies and small-for-gestational age neonates in dichorionic pregnancies., (© 2023. Background: Although several studies in high-income countries have suggested a positive association between subjective well-being (SWB) and mortality, studies conducted in low- and middle-income countries, such as China, are scarce. The purpose of this study is to examine the association between SWB and all-cause mortality among the older Chinese population., Methods: Data were from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS), a population-based longitudinal cohort study in 22 of 31 provinces in mainland China. A total of 13,282 individuals aged 65 ≥ years who were recruited in 2002 and followed-up until 2018 were included. SWB was assessed with an eight-item tool covering life satisfaction, positive affect (including optimism, happiness, personal control and conscientiousness) and negative affect (including anxiety, loneliness and uselessness). Cox proportional hazards regression methods were carried out to estimate the association between SWB and total mortality, adjusting for a wide range of potential confounders. Subgroup analyses and interaction analyses were further conducted., Results: During the 16.5 years of follow-up, 8459 deaths were identified. Greater SWB was independently associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 0.85, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.81-0.89) after adjustment for age, sex, marital status, education level, place of residence, smoking status, drinking, exercise, diet, BMI, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, cerebrovascular diseases and cancer. Of the eight individual SWB symptoms, only 2 items, feelings of uselessness (adjusted HR = 0.94, 95% CI = 0.89-0.99) and happiness (adjusted HR = 0.91, 95% CI = 0.86-0.95), were significantly associated with total mortality. Associations remained significant across all subgroups regardless of different characteristics., Conclusions: Higher SWB overall and 2 certain symptoms (feelings of uselessness and happiness) were independently associated with all-cause mortality risk among older Chinese adults. The association was consistent across different groups, suggesting that promoting a healthier SWB may be beneficial to all older individuals irrespective of their characteristics., (© 2023. Background: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index has been demonstrated to be a reliable surrogate marker of insulin resistance (IR) and an effective predictive index of cardiovascular (CV) disease risk. However, its long-term prognostic value in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) remains uncertain., Methods: A total of 6697 consecutive patients with CHF were enrolled in this study. Patients were divided into tertiles according to their TyG index. The incidence of primary outcomes, including all-cause death and CV death, was recorded. The TyG index was calculated as ln [fasting triglycerides (mg/dL) × fasting blood glucose (mg/dL)/2]., Results: During a median follow-up of 3.9 years, a total of 2158 (32.2%) all-cause deaths and 1305 (19.5%) CV deaths were documented. The incidence of primary events from the lowest to the highest TyG index tertiles were 50.61, 64.64, and 92.25 per 1000 person-years for all-cause death and 29.05, 39.40, and 57.21 per 1000 person-years for CV death. The multivariate Cox hazards regression analysis revealed hazard ratios for all-cause and CV deaths of 1.84 (95% CI 1.61-2.10; P for trend < 0.001) and 1.94 (95% CI 1.63-2.30; P for trend < 0.001) when the highest and lowest TyG index tertiles were compared. In addition, the predictive ability of the TyG index against all-cause death was more prominent among patients with metabolic syndrome and those with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction phenotype (both P for interaction < 0.05). Furthermore, adding the TyG index to the established model for all-cause death improved the C‑statistic value (0.710 for the established model vs. 0.723 for the established model + TyG index, P < 0.01), the integrated discrimination improvement value (0.011, P < 0.01), the net reclassification improvement value (0.273, P < 0.01), and the clinical net benefit (probability range, 0.07-0.36)., Conclusions: The TyG index was significantly associated with the risk of mortality, suggesting that it may be a reliable and valuable predictor for risk stratification and an effective prognostic indicator in patients with CHF., (© 2023. Background: Research on the association of physical activity and sedentary time with dementia is accumulating, though elusive, and the interaction effects of the two remain unclear. We analysed the joint associations of accelerometer-measured physical activity and sedentary time with risk of incident dementia (all-cause dementia, Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia)., Methods: A total of 90,320 individuals from the UK Biobank were included. Accelerometer-measured total volume of physical activity (TPA) and sedentary time were measured at baseline and dichotomised by median (low TPA [< 27 milli-gravity (milli-g)], high TPA [≥ 27 milli-g]; low sedentary time [< 10.7 h/day], high sedentary time [≥ 10.7 h/day]). Cox proportional hazards models were used to evaluate the joint associations with incident dementia on both additive and multiplicative scales., Results: During a median follow-up of 6.9 years, 501 cases of all-cause dementia were identified. Higher TPA was associated with a lower risk of all-cause dementia, Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia; the multivariate adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) (95% CI) per 10 milli-g increase were 0.63 (0.55-0.71), 0.74 (0.60-0.90) and 0.69 (0.51-0.93), respectively. Sedentary time was only found to be linked to all-cause dementia, and the HR for high sedentary time was 1.03 (1.01-1.06) compared with that for low sedentary time. No additive and multiplicative relationship of TPA and sedentary time to incident dementia was found (all P values > 0.05)., Conclusion: Higher TPA level was related to a lower risk of incident dementia irrespective of sedentary time, which highlighted the implication of promoting physical activity participation to counteract the potential detrimental effect of sedentary time on dementia., (© 2023. Background: The combined effect of serum uric acid (SUA) and blood glucose on cognition has not been explored. This study aimed to examine the separate and combined association of SUA and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) or diabetes mellitus (DM) with cognition in a sample of Chinese middle-aged and elderly population., Methods: A total of 6,509 participants aged 45 years or older who participated in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2011) were included. The three cognitive domains assessed were episodic memory, mental status, and global cognition (the sum of the first two terms). Higher scores indicated better cognition. SUA and FPG were measured. The participants were grouped based on SUA and FPG quartiles to evaluate their combined associations of cognition with SUA Q1-Q3 only (Low SUA), with FPG Q4 only (High FPG), without low SUA and high FPG levels (Non), and with low SUA and high FPG levels (Both), multivariate linear regression models were used to analyze their association., Results: Lower SUA quartiles were associated with poorer performance in global cognition and episodic memory compared with the highest quartile. Although no association was found between FPG or DM and cognition, high FPG or DM combined with low SUA levels in women (β FPG  = -0.983, 95% CI: -1.563--0.402; β DM  = -0.800, 95% CI: -1.369--0.232) had poorer cognition than those with low SUA level only (β FPG  = -0.469, 95% CI: -0.926--0.013; β DM  = -0.667, 95% CI: -1.060--0.275)., Conclusion: Maintaining an appropriate level of SUA may be important to prevent cognitive impairment in women with high FPG., (© 2023. Background: The distal tibiofibular syndesmosis (DTS) is a complex fibrous joint that contributes to the stability and weight-bearing function of the ankle. As such, repair of DTS injury is required, providing fixation strength while maintaining ankle range of motion. The aim of this study was to compare a new elastic fixation technique, using an encircling and binding technique, for DTS stabilization, compared to the traditional cortical bone screw fixation., Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of 67 patients treated for a DTS injury at our hospital, between June 2019 and June 2021. Of them, 33 were treated with encircling and binding (EB group) and 34 using a cortical screw (CS group). The following outcomes were compared between groups: time to inferior tibiofibular fixation; length of hospital stay; time to partial weight bearing; time to complete weight bearing; complications; imaging data; and functional scores., Results: Successful stabilization was achieved in all cases, with a mean follow-up period of 15.78 ± 2.97 months. Time to fixation and time to partial and complete weight bearing were shorter for the EB than that for the CS group. The length of hospital was not different between groups. With regard to complications, a superficial infection developed in one patient in each group, with wound healing achieved after active treatment. Screw fracture occurred in two patients in the CS group. At 3 months post-surgery, the American Foot Surgery Association Ankle-Hindfoot score (AOFAS) was higher and the pain score lower for the EB than that for the CS group, but with no between-group difference at the final follow-up. On imaging, the tibiofibular clear space and tibiofibular overlap were not different between groups., Conclusions: DTS fixation using encircling and binding yielded better clinical and functional outcomes than did cortical screw fixation at 3 months post-surgery, with no difference at the final follow-up. FOXO has long been associated with aging, exercise, and tissue homeostasis, but it remains unclear what the role is of the muscle FOXO gene in E against high-salt intake(HSI)-induced age-related defects of the skeletal muscle, heart, and mortality. In this research, overexpression and RNAi of the FOXO gene in the skeletal and heart muscle of Drosophila were constructed by building Mhc-GAL4/FOXO-UAS-overexpression and Mhc-GAL4/FOXO-UAS-RNAi system. The skeletal muscle and heart function, the balance of oxidation and antioxidant, and mitochondrial homeostasis were measured. The results showed that exercise reversed the age-related decline in climbing ability and downregulation of muscle FOXO expression induced by HSI. Muscle-specific FOXO-RNAi (FOXO-RNAi) and -overexpression (FOXO-OE) promoted or slowed the age-related decline in climbing ability, heart function, and skeletal muscle and heart structure damage, which was accompanied by the inhibition or activation of FOXO/PGC-1α/SDH and FOXO/SOD pathway activity, and oxidative stress (ROS) increased or decreased in both skeletal muscle and heart. The protective effect of exercise on the skeletal muscle and heart was blocked by FOXO-RNAi in aged HSI flies. FOXO-OE prolonged its lifespan, but it did not resist the HSI-induced lifespan shortening. Exercise did not improve HSI-induced lifespan shortening in FOXO-RNAi flies. Therefore, current results confirmed that the muscle FOXO gene played a vital role in exercise against age-related defects of the skeletal muscle and heart induced by HSI because it determined the activity of muscle FOXO/SOD and FOXO/PGC-1α/SDH pathways. Background: A large number of studies have provided a variety of heart failure management program (HF-MP) intervention modes. It is generally believed that HF-MP is effective, but the question of which type of program works best, what level of support is needed for an intervention to be effective, and whether different subgroups of patients are best served by different types of programs is still confusing., Methods: This study will search for published and unpublished randomized clinical trials in English examining HF-MP interventions in comparison with usual care. MEDLINE, Medlin In-Process and Non-Indexed, CENTRAL, CINAHL, EMBASE, and PsycINFO will be the databases. We will calibrate our eligibility criteria among the team. Each literature will be screened by at least two reviewers. Conflicts will be resolved through team discussion. A similar process will be used for data abstraction and quality appraisal. The results will be synthesized descriptively, and a network meta-analysis will be conducted if the studies are deemed methodologically, clinically, and statistically acceptable (e.g., I 2  < 50%). Moreover, potential moderators of efficacy will be analyzed using a meta-regression., Discussion: This study will reduce the clinical heterogeneity and statistical heterogeneity of review and meta-analysis through a more scientific classification method to determine the most effective HF-MP in different subgroups of heart failure patients with different human resource investments and different intervention methods, providing high-quality evidence and guidance for clinical practice., Systematic Review Registration: PROSPERO CRD42021258521., (© 2023. Background: Gut microbiota plays a critical role in the onset and development of depression, but the underlying molecular mechanisms are unclear. This study was conducted to observe the characteristics of gut microbiota, lipid metabolism and neurotransmitters in Gut-Liver-Brain axis in depressed mice (DM), and identify some novel perceptions on relationships between gut microbiota and depression., Methods: A mouse model of depression was built used chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Fecal samples (measuring gut microbiota compositions, microbial genes and lipid metabolites), liver samples (measuring lipid metabolites), and hippocampus (measuring neurotransmitters) were collected. Both univariate and multivariate statistical analyses were used to identify the differential gut microbiota, metabolic signatures and neurotransmitters in DM., Results: There were significant differences on both microbial and metabolic signatures between DM and control mice (CM): 71 significantly changed operational taxonomic units (OTUs) (60.56% belonged to phylum Firmicutes) and 405 differential lipid metabolites (51.11% belonged to Glycerophospholipid (GP) metabolism) were identified. Functional analysis showed that depressive-like behaviors (DLB)-related differential microbial genes were mainly enriched in GP metabolism. Weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) showed that DLB-related differential metabolites mainly belonged to GPs. Meanwhile, seven differential neurotransmitters were identified. Comprehensive analysis found that Lachnospiraceae and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) were significantly correlated with 94.20% and 53.14% differential GPs, respectively, and GABA was significantly correlated with three main DLB phenotypes., Conclusion: Our results provided novel perceptions on the role of Gut-Liver-Brain axis in the onset of depression, and showed that GP metabolism might be the bridge between gut microbiota and depression. Background: Many lifestyle interventions have demonstrated efficacy up to one-year follow-up, yet maintaining improvements at longer-term follow-up is a well-recognized worldwide challenge, especially in underserved areas. The purpose of this study is to compare the 18-month efficacy of an Intensive LifeStyle Modification Program to usual care in reducing the risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) among women with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)., Methods: We conducted a two-arm, cluster randomized controlled trial among women with a history of GDM in China. A total of 16 towns (clusters) in two distinct rural areas in south-central China were randomly selected (8 towns per area) and assigned (1:1) to the intervention (Intensive LifeStyle Modification Program) or control (usual care) group with stratification in the two rural areas. The strategies for maintaining intervention effects were used (including setting recursive goals and providing a supportive environment, etc.) under the guidance of social cognitive theory. The primary outcome was a change in T2D risk; secondary outcomes included glycemic, weight-related, behavioral, and psychological variables. All outcomes were collected at baseline, 6, and 18 months. All participants entered the intention-to-treat analysis. Data were analyzed via generalized estimation equation models (accounting for clusters) at the individual level, with subgroup analysis included in the model., Results: The sample included 320 women from 16 clusters (20 women per cluster). At 18 months, the intervention group demonstrated a significant improvement in T2D risk score, fasting blood glucose, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, intention to eat low glycemic index food, perceived stress, quality of life in psychological and environmental domains, and social support over time (p < 0.05) based on the intention-to-treat analysis set. Subgroup analysis showed a significant interaction effect on T2D risk score in subgroups of different BMI, waist circumference, and blood glucose (p < 0.05)., Conclusions: Over 18 months, the Intensive LifeStyle Modification Program reduced T2D risk among rural women with a history of GDM in China. Women who were overweight, had high abdominal adiposity, or had blood glucose intolerance benefited more from this intervention. Background: Many epidemiological studies have shown that anovulatory polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is accompanied by hyperandrogenism. However, the exact mechanism of hyperandrogen-induced anovulation remains to be elucidated. In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential mechanism of anovulation in PCOS. To investigate the role of klotho as a key factor in the androgen receptor (AR)-mediated development of PCOS, we investigated the effects of testosterone on ovarian klotho expression in vivo and in vitro., Results: Testosterone propionate (TP)-induced rats showed cycle irregularity, hyperandrogenism, polycystic ovarian changes, dyslipidemia. However, inhibition of AR expression could relieve PCOS traits. We also found that AR and klotho showed relatively high expression in PCOS rat ovarian tissue and in TP-induced granulosa cells (GCs), which was inhibited by the addition of flutamide. TP-induced GCs apoptosis was suppressed by AR antagonist, as well as silencing klotho expression in human GCs. Chromatin immunoprecipitation assay demonstrated that AR indirectly binds to the klotho promoter., Conclusions: Our results demonstrated TP mediates the expression of klotho via androgen receptor and klotho alterations could be a reason for ovarian dysfunction in PCOS., (© 2023. Background: Non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may have suppressed the transmission of other infectious diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different degrees of NPIs during the COVID-19 pandemic on hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Guangzhou, China., Methods: Weekly reported HFMD cases and pathogens information during 2015-2021 in Guangzhou were collected from the China National Notifiable Disease Reporting System. The observed number of HFMD cases in 2020 and 2021 was compared to the average level in the same period during 2015-2019. Then, an interrupted time-series segmented regression analysis was applied to estimate the impact of NPIs on HFMD, such as social distancing, suspension of schools, community management and mask wearing. The effects across different subgroups stratified by gender, children groups and enterovirus subtype of HFMD were also examined., Results: A total of 13,224 and 36,353 HFMD cases were reported in 2020 and 2021, which decreased by 80.80% and 15.06% respectively compared with the average number of cases in the same period during 2015-2019. A significant drop in the number of HFMD cases during time when strict NPIs were applied (relative change: 69.07% [95% confidence interval (CI): 68.84%-69.30%]). The HFMD incidence rebounded to historical levels in 2021 as the lockdown eased. The slightest reduction of HFMD cases was found among children at kindergartens or childcare centres among the three children groups (children at kindergartens or childcare centres: 55.50% [95% CI: 54.96%-56.03%]; children living at home: 72.64% [95% CI: 72.38%-72.89%]; others: 74.06% [95% CI: 73.19%-74.91%])., Conclusions: The strong NPIs during the COVID-19 epidemic may have a significant beneficial effect on mitigating HFMD. However, the incidence of HFMD rebounded as the NPIs became less stringent. Aims: To investigate the proportion and risk factors of diabetic retinopathy (DR) by stages in less-developed rural areas in Hunan Province of China., Background: DR is common among people with diabetes but not well recognized in less-developed rural areas. There is insufficient evidence on the risk factors of DR by stages, making it challenging to develop targeted prevention and intervention programs for DR in primary care settings., Methods: A multi-site cross-sectional survey was conducted among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from four less-developed counties in Hunan Province of China. All participants underwent the screening of DR via digital fundus photography and completed self-reported questionnaires on their socio-demographic and clinical characteristics, diabetes self-efficacy, diabetes self-care behaviors, social support, family function, and health service accessibility. The multinomial logistic regression models were employed to explore the risk factors of DR by stage, which were selected based on the socio-ecological model, literature, and clinical experience., Results: A total of 196 participants were included in this study with an average age of 57.43 ± 10.26. 59.6% (117/196) of the participants were identified as DR, including 37.2% (73/196) non-proliferative DR and 22.4% (44/196) proliferative DR. Compared to the non-DR group, the risk factors of non-proliferative DR and proliferative DR were diabetes duration (OR: 1.10, 95 CI%: 1.04-1.17; OR: 1.14, 95 CI% 1.06-1.22) and self-monitoring of blood glucose (OR: 1.09, 95 CI% 1.01-1.17; OR: 1.11, 95 CI%: 1.02-1.20); the protective factors of non-proliferative DR was accessible complication prevention and management education (OR: 0.37, 95 CI% 0.14-0.94) while the protective factors of proliferative DR were physical activities (OR: 0.89, 95 CI%: 0.80-0.98). Compared to the non-proliferative DR group, the protective factors of proliferative DR were physical activities (OR: 0.89, 95 CI% 0.02-0.89) and family function (OR: 0.84, 95 CI%: 0.04-0.84)., Conclusion: DR was prevalent among people with T2DM in less-developed rural areas, indicating the need of strengthening DR screening. Background: Measuring health-related diet and exercise self-efficacy is an important first step in improving healthy behaviors and health outcomes. However, we did not find a self-efficacy measurement in Chinese that is specifically targeted at diet and exercise self-efficacy among healthy adults., Aim: The present study aimed to translate the Health-Related Diet and Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale -simplified version into Mandarin Chinese (HRDESES) and evaluate its reliability and validity in Chinese healthy adults., Methods: The HRDESES was translated and adapted to the Chinese context, with a good content validity of 0.86 among seven experts. The survey was then carried out in 216 adults in Hunan, China. Testing of the reliability included internal consistency reliability and test-retest reliability, while validity included content validity, construct validity, and criterion validity., Results: The Cronbach's α of the HRDESES was 0.87 for the total scale, 0.86 for the diet subscale and 0.91 for the exercise subscale; the McDonald's ω of the HRDESES-SC was 0.85 for the total scale, 0.86 for the diet subscale and 0.91 for the exercise subscale, all demonstrating good internal consistency. The test-retest reliability was 0.88 for the total scale, 0.81 for the diet subscale and 0.82 for the exercise subscale, demonstrating good test-retest reliability. For construct validity, the scale effectively distinguished subjects by age, gender, education, occupation, marital status, and family income, showing good discriminant validity. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) supported a two-factor structure of the scale: diet and exercise subscale. It was demonstrated that the HRDESES was highly associated with the General Self-Efficacy Scale and its two subscales, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.83 to 0.86 (p < 0.05), showing high criterion validity., Conclusion: The HRDESES had good reliability and validity and could be used as a simple and effective tool for assessing the health-related diet and exercise self-efficacy in Chinese healthy adults., (© 2022. Background: For colorectal cancer, preoperative (neoadjuvant) chemotherapy is more effective than postoperative chemotherapy because it not only eradicates micrometastases more effectively but also reduces the risk of incomplete intraoperative resection and tumor cell shedding. For the treatment of acute left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction, colorectal stents as well as stoma are being used to relieve the obstructive colorectal cancer, and as a bridge to surgery, allowing easy mobilization and resection of the colon. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with self-expandable metal stents (SEMS) or neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with decompressing stoma (DS) can be used as a bridge to elective surgery (BTS) as an alternative to emergency surgery in patients with acute left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction, but its benefit is uncertain. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and feasibility of neoadjuvant chemotherapy as a bridge to surgery in the treatment of acute left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction., Methods: Data from patients who were admitted with acute left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction between January 2012 and December 2020 were retrospectively reviewed, and patients with gastrointestinal perforation or peritonitis were excluded. We performed one-to-two propensity score matching to compare the stoma requirement, postoperative complications, and other short-term oncological outcomes between the neoadjuvant chemotherapy group and surgery group., Results: There were no differences in intraoperative blood loss, operative time, one-year postoperative mortality, and postoperative tumor markers between the two groups. The 1-year recurrence-free survival (RFS) rates of neoadjuvant chemotherapy group and surgery group were 96.8 and 91.3% (p = 0.562). The neoadjuvant chemotherapy group was able to reduce stoma rate 1 year after surgery (p = 0.047). Besides, the neoadjuvant group significantly reduced postoperative bowel function time (p < 0.001), postoperative hospital stay (p < 0.001), total hospital stay (p = 0.002), postoperative complications (p = 0.017), reduction in need to stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) (p = 0.042)., Conclusions: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy as a bridge to elective surgery in patients with acute left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction is safe and has many advantages. Objective: To compare the recurrence rate of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) after treatment with 0.3 mg vs. 0.25 mg ranibizumab., Subjects: All patients with ROP who underwent intravitreal injection of ranibizumab in Hainan General Hospital between January 2014 and May 2020 were included in this retrospective study., Methods: Eighty-two cases (146 eyes) who received intravitreal injection of 0.25 mg ranibizumab were included in the conventional-dose group, and 59 cases (108 eyes) who received intravitreal injection of 0.3 mg ranibizumab were included in the high-dose group. The two groups were further divided into the 25-28-week, 29-31-week, 32-34-week, and 35-36-week GA subgroups. The differences between the conventional-dose group and the high-dose group in gestational age (GA), birth weight (BW), age at initial injection (weeks), incidence of systemic diseases, the recurrence rate of ROP, and age at retinal vascularization completed (weeks) were analyzed., Results: GA, BW, age at initial injection, and the incidence of systemic diseases were not significantly different between the conventional-dose group and the high-dose group (p > 0.05). The recurrence rates of ROP were significantly lower in the 25-28-week, 29-31-week, and 32-34-week subgroups of the high-dose group than in the same subgroups of the conventional-dose group (p < 0.05). Within the conventional-dose group, the recurrence rate of ROP was significantly lower in the 32-34-week and 35-36-week subgroups than in the 25-28-week and 29-31-week subgroups (p < 0.05). Within the high-dose group, the recurrence rate of ROP was not significantly different between the four subgroups (p > 0.05). Retinal vascularization was completed at a later age in the 32-34-week subgroup of the high-dose group than in the 32-34-week subgroup of the conventional-dose group (p < 0.05) but was not significantly different between the two groups at any other GA range (p > 0.05). No severe ocular or systemic complications occurred in any patient., Conclusion: Treatment with 0.3 mg ranibizumab can reduce the recurrence rate of ROP without prolonging retinal vascularization or causing serious systemic complications. Background: Abnormal epiphyseal growth plate development of the proximal tibia in hemophilia patients leads to notable morphological changes in the mature knee joint. This study aimed to compare the morphological characteristics of tibial component placement cut surface in patients with hemophilic arthritis (HA) and osteoarthritis (OA) and to determine the tibial component rotational alignment axis' best position for HA patients., Methods: Preoperative computed tomography scans of 40 OA and 40 HA patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty were evaluated using a three-dimensional (3D) software. The tibial component's placement morphological parameters were measured. The tibial component's rotational mismatch angles were evaluated, and the most appropriate 0°AP axis position for HA patients was investigated., Results: In the two groups, the morphology was significantly different in some of the parameters (p < 0.05). The tibial component rotational mismatch angles were significantly different between both groups (p < 0.05). The medial 9.26° of the medial 1/3 of the patellar tendon was the point through which 0°AP axis passed for the HA patients. Similarly, the medial 13.02° of the medial 1/3 of the tibial tubercle was also the point through which the 0°AP axis passed., Conclusions: The ratio of the anteroposterior length to the geometric transverse length of the placement section of the tibial component in HA patients was smaller than that in OA patients. Objective: To evaluate the role of totally endoscopic robotic aortic valve replacement in cardiac surgery., Methods: Four cases of totally robotic aortic valve replacement (AVR) were conducted from December 2016 to July 2018. All operations were completed with the Da Vinci robot Si™ system (intuitive Surgical, Inc. Sunnyvale, C.A, USA). Patients were male, with a mean age of 42.8 ± 6.2 years (range 32-49)., Results: AVR was completed with the Da Vinci Si™ system (intuitive Surgical, Inc. Sunnyvale, CA, USA). There was no mortality and no procedure-related morbidity. The mean cardiopulmonary bypass and mean cross-clamp time was 252 ± 13.6 min and 178.8 ± 17.1 min, respectively. The mean ICU time was 78.8 ± 27.1 h, and the mean hospital stay was 15 ± 3.5 d. During a mean follow-up of 3 years and 6 months, the patients returned to normal function, and no heart murmur was found. Compared with the operation, the body image score of the four patients increased after the operation, and the hospital anxiety and depression scale scores decreased, indicating that the patient's condition had been alleviated to a certain extent., Conclusion: Totally endoscopic robotic AVR is a feasible and viable choice for patients but requires further improvement for broader use., (© 2022. Background: This study aimed to propose a new user-friendly, cost effective and robust risk model to facilitate risk stratification for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treated with frontline R-CHOP regimens., Methods: Data on 998 patients with de novo DLBCL diagnosed between Jan 1st, 2005 and Dec 31st, 2018 at our center, who received frontline R-CHOP or R-CHOP-like regimens, were retrospectively collected. Patients were randomly divided into the training cohort (n = 701) and the validation cohort (n = 297). A new prognostic model for overall survival (OS) was built based on the training cohort. The performance of the new model was compared with International prognostic index (IPI), revised IPI (R-IPI) and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)-IPI (NCCN-IPI). The new model was validated in the validation cohort., Results: The multivariate analysis of the training cohort showed that the IPI, β2-microglobulin, platelet count and red blood cell distribution width were independent factors for OS, which were incorporated into the new prognostic model. Patients were stratified into low risk, low-intermediate risk, high-intermediate risk, high risk and very high risk groups, with distinct survival outcomes. The new model achieved good C-indexes for 5-year OS prediction of 0.750 (95%CI 0.719-0.781) and 0.733 (95%CI 0.682-0.784) in the training and validation cohorts, respectively, and displayed well-fitted calibration curves. The C-index and the time-dependent ROC analysis demonstrated better performance of the new model than the IPI, R-IPI and NCCN-IPI in both training and validation cohorts. The integrated Brier score for predicting 5-year OS of the new model was lower than that of the IPI, R-IPI and NCCN-IPI in both cohorts, and decision curve analysis also showed a higher net benefit, indicating the superiority of the new model over the conventional models., Conclusion: The new prognostic model might be a useful predictive tool for DLBCL treated with R-CHOP regimens. Background: To observe and explore the effect of metformin on the migration and proliferation of bladder cancer T24 and 5637 cells in vitro., Methods: Bladder cancer T24 and 5637 cell lines were cultured in vitro, and were divided into group A (blank control group) and group B (metformin group: 5, 10, 15, and 20 mmol/L); both groups were plated on 6-well plates at the same time. Culture in 24-well plates was used for wound healing assays and in 96-well plates for Transwell migration and invasion, and Cell Counting Kit-8 proliferation experiments. We observed and detected the cell migration and proliferation ability of each group at 48 h, and calculated the cell migration area and survival rate. Flow cytometry was used to detect cell apoptosis in the groups. The apoptosis-related proteins, cleaved-caspase 3, cleaved-PARP, and the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway member proteins PI3K, phosphorylated (p)-PI3K, AKT, p-AKT, mTOR, and p-mTOR were detected using western blotting., Results: After 48 h of treatment with different concentrations of metformin, the cell migration and proliferation capabilities were significantly lower than those in the blank control group. The proliferation and migration abilities of T24 and 5637 cells decreased in a metformin concentration-dependent manner (P < 0.05). The apoptosis rate under different concentrations of metformin, as detected by flow cytometry, showed a significantly higher rate in the metformin group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Compared with that in the control group, the level of cleaved-caspase 3 and cleaved-PARP protein in the metformin group was increased in each treatment group, and the levels of p-mTOR, p-AKT, and p-PI3K decreased significantly compared with those in the control group (P < 0.05)., Conclusion: Metformin inhibited bladder cancer T24 and 5637 cell migration and proliferation, and induced their apoptosis. Objective: To explore the prognostic factors for in-hospital mortality in patients with unplanned re-exploration after cardiovascular surgery., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 100 patients who underwent unplanned re-exploration after cardiovascular surgery in our hospital between May 2010 and May 2020. There were 77 males and 23 females, aged (55.1 ± 15.2) years. Demographic characteristics, surgical information, perioperative complications were collected to establish a database. These patients were divided into surviving and non-surviving groups according to in-hospital mortality. Logistic regression was used for multivariable analysis to explore the prognostic factors of in-hospital mortality. These statistically significant indicators were selected for drawing the receiver operating characteristic curve of the evaluation model, calculating the area under the curve (AUC) and evaluating the effectiveness of the new model with Hosmer-Lemeshow C-statistic., Results: In-hospital mortality in patients with unplanned re-exploration after cardiovascular surgery was 26.0% (26/100). Multivariate logistics regression revealed that the operation time of unplanned re-exploration, the worst blood creatinine value within 48 h before the re-exploration, the worst lactate value within 24 h after the re-exploration, cardiac insufficiency, respiratory insufficiency, and acute kidney injury were independent prognostic factors (P < 0.05). The AUC of the new assessment model constituted by these prognostic factors was 0.910, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow C-statistic was 4.153 (P = 0.762)., Conclusions: Operation time of unplanned re-exploration, worst serum creatinine value within 48 h before re-exploration, worst lactate value within 24 h after re-exploration, cardiac insufficiency, respiratory insufficiency, and acute kidney injury are the main prognostic factors for in-hospital mortality in patients with unplanned re-exploration after cardiovascular surgery. Background: All-inside anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is a novel technique that has gained attention due to its minimally invasive and graft-saving properties. However, studies comparing MRI-based graft maturity between all-inside and standard ACLR are lacking., Purpose: This study focused on the functional, knee laxity, and MRI-based graft maturity characteristics of all-inside and standard single-bundle ACLR., Study Design: Randomized controlled trial (RCT)., Methods: Fifty-four patients were randomly assigned to an all-inside reconstruction group (n = 27) or standard reconstruction group (n = 27). Using the same rehabilitation strategy. The Tegner, International Knee Documentation Committee, and Lysholm scores were recorded at postoperative months 3, 6, and 12 to assess functional recovery. MRI was conducted to measure the signal/noise quotient (SNQ) of the intra-articular graft to assess the maturity. A higher SNQ indicates lower graft maturity. Knee laxity was assessed using GNRB arthrometer at the postoperative month 12., Results: The graft SNQ of the all-inside group was significantly higher than that of the standard group at postoperative month 6 (p < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in graft SNQ between the two groups at postoperative months 3 and 12 (p > 0.05). Both groups exhibited the highest SNQ in the middle region of the graft, followed by the proximal region, and the distal region. Functional scores improved significantly for both groups and had no statistical difference (p > 0.05). The knee laxity was higher in the all-inside group (p < 0.05) at postoperative month 12. There was no correlation between the functional scores and graft maturity in both groups (p > 0.05)., Conclusions: All-inside and standard single-bundle ACLR show good functional outcomes; however, knee laxity was relatively higher in the all-inside ACLR group than in the standard ACLR group. Moreover, both techniques exhibited poor maturity in the middle graft region and the best in the distal region. Graft maturity with all-inside ACLR is inferior to that with standard ACLR in the early postoperative stages. Background: RNFL thickness measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and visual pathway measured by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) can be used to predict visual field recovery, respectively. However, the relationship between RNFL thickness and visual pathway injury in patients with pituitary adenoma (PA) remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the combining DTI and OCT methods in observing the microstructural change in the visual pathway in patients with PA., Methods: Twenty-nine patients who were diagnosed with PA were included in the study group, and 29 healthy subjects were included as the control group. OCT detected the thickness of circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (CP-RNFL) and ganglion cell layer (GCL). DTI measured the values of fractional anisotropy (FA) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC). Correlation between CP-RNFL and GCL thickness and FA and ADC values was analyzed in the study group., Results: Compared with the control group, the FA values of the bilateral optic nerve, chiasma, bilateral optic tract, and left optic radiation in the study group were reduced, and the ADC values of the bilateral optic nerve and optic chiasma were increased. Correlation analysis showed that the FA value of the optic chiasma was positively correlated with the average thickness of RNFL, the CP-RNFL thickness in the nasal and temporal retinal quadrants in both eyes, as well as the thickness of macular ring GCL in the nasal, supra, and inferior quadrants. The FA values of the optic nerve, optic chiasma, optic tract, and optic radiation were positively correlated with CP-RNFL thickness in the nasal and temporal quadrants., Conclusion: Combined DTI and OCT can provide a comprehensive understanding of the microscopic changes in the structure and function of the whole visual pathway in patients with PA., (© 2022. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an incurable disease of the gastrointestinal tract with a lack of effective therapeutic strategies. The proinflammatory microenvironment plays a significant role in both amplifying and sustaining inflammation during IBD progression. Herein, biocompatible drug-free ceria nanoparticles (CeNP-PEG) with regenerable scavenging activities against multiple reactive oxygen species (ROS) were developed. CeNP-PEG exerted therapeutic effect in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis murine model, evidenced by corrected the disease activity index, restrained colon length shortening, improved intestinal permeability and restored the colonic epithelium disruption. CeNP-PEG ameliorated the proinflammatory microenvironment by persistently scavenging ROS, down-regulating the levels of multiple proinflammatory cytokines, restraining the proinflammatory profile of macrophages and Th1/Th17 response. The underlying mechanism may involve restraining the co-activation of NF-κB and JAK2/STAT3 pathways. In summary, this work demonstrates an effective strategy for IBD treatment by ameliorating the self-perpetuating proinflammatory microenvironment, which offers a new avenue in the treatment of inflammation-related diseases., (© 2022. Objective: M2 macrophages are associated with a poor prognosis in a variety of malignancies. There are, however, few relevant investigations in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC)., Methods: The expression of M2 macrophages in ccRCC tissues was first discovered using immunohistochemistry in this study. Then, M2 macrophages were created in vitro to see how they affected the proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT of ccRCC cells. Using qPCR and prognostic analysis identifies important chemokine. Antibody neutralization tests confirmed the chemokine's involvement and function. Pathway inhibitors confirmed the main pathway of M2 macrophages in ccRCC. Finally, qPCR and IHC were used to confirm the expression of chemokine receptors in ccRCC tissues., Results: The presence of M2 macrophages was linked to a poor outcome in ccRCC. M2 macrophages enhanced the proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT of ccRCC lines in vitro. CXCL13 was identified as the main chemokine by prognostic analysis and qPCR tests. CXCL13 neutralizing antibodies can inhibit the stimulation of M2 macrophages in ccRCC lines' proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT. M2 macrophages and CXCL13 may activate the Akt pathway in ccRCC lines, and Akt inhibitors decrease ccRCC lines proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT. Background: Rice is a crop that is very sensitive to low temperature, and its morphological development and production are greatly affected by low temperature. Therefore, understanding the genetic basis of cold tolerance in rice is of great significance for mining favorable genes and cultivating excellent rice varieties. However, there have been limited studies focusing on cold tolerance at the bud burst stage; therefore, considerable attention should be given to the genetic basis of cold tolerance at this stage., Results: In this study, a natural population consisting of 211 rice landraces collected from 15 provinces in China and other countries was used for the first time to evaluate cold tolerance at the bud burst stage. Population structure analysis showed that this population was divided into two groups and was rich in genetic diversity. Our evaluation results confirmed that japonica rice was more tolerant to cold at the bud burst stage than indica rice. A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed with the phenotypic data of 211 rice landraces and a 36,727 SNP dataset under a mixed linear model. Twelve QTLs (P < 0.0001) were identified for the seedling survival rate (SR) after treatment at 4 °C, in which there were five QTLs (qSR2-2, qSR3-1, qSR3-2, qSR3-3 and qSR9) that were colocalized with those from previous studies and seven QTLs (qSR2-1, qSR3-4, qSR3-5, qSR3-6, qSR3-7, qSR4 and qSR7) that were reported for the first time. Among these QTLs, qSR9, harboring the most significant SNP, explained the most phenotypic variation. Through bioinformatics analysis, five genes (LOC&#95;Os09g12440, LOC&#95;Os09g12470, LOC&#95;Os09g12520, LOC&#95;Os09g12580 and LOC&#95;Os09g12720) were identified as candidates for qSR9., Conclusion: This natural population consisting of 211 rice landraces combined with high-density SNPs will serve as a better choice for identifying rice QTLs/genes in the future, and the detected QTLs associated with cold tolerance at the bud burst stage in rice will be conducive to further mining favorable genes and breeding rice varieties under cold stress., (© 2021. Histopathological examination (biopsy) is the "gold standard" for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). However, biopsy is an invasive method, and due to the temporal and spatial heterogeneity of the tumor, a single biopsy cannot reveal the comprehensive biological characteristics and dynamic changes of the tumor. Therefore, there is a need for new biomarkers to improve CRC diagnosis and to monitor and treat CRC patients. Numerous studies have shown that "liquid biopsy" is a promising minimally invasive method for early CRC detection. A liquid biopsy mainly samples circulating tumor cells (CTCs), circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), microRNA (miRNA) and extracellular vesicles (EVs). CTCs are malignant cells that are shed from the primary tumors and/or metastases into the peripheral circulation. CTCs carry information on both primary tumors and metastases that can reflect dynamic changes in tumors in a timely manner. As a promising biomarker, CTCs can be used for early disease detection, treatment response and disease progression evaluation, disease mechanism elucidation, and therapeutic target identification for drug development. Background: Nitrogen-fixing prokaryotes (diazotrophs) contribute substantially to nitrogen input in mangrove sediments, and their structure and nitrogen fixation rate (NFR) are significantly controlled by environmental conditions. Despite the well-known studies on diazotrophs in surficial sediments, the diversity, structure, and ecological functions of diazotrophic communities along environmental gradients of mangrove sediment across different depths are largely unknown. Here, we investigated how biological nitrogen fixation varied with the depth of mangrove sediments from the perspectives of both NFR and diazotrophic communities., Results: Through acetylene reduction assay, nifH gene amplicon and metagenomic sequencing, we found that the NFR increased but the diversity of diazotrophic communities decreased with the depth of mangrove sediments. The structure of diazotrophic communities at different depths was largely driven by salinity and exhibited a clear divergence at the partitioning depth of 50 cm. Among diazotrophic genera correlated with NFR, Agrobacterium and Azotobacter were specifically enriched at 50-100 cm sediments, while Anaeromyxobacter, Rubrivivax, Methylocystis, Dickeya, and Methylomonas were more abundant at 0-50 cm. Consistent with the higher NFR, metagenomic analysis demonstrated the elevated abundance of nitrogen fixation genes (nifH/D/K) in deep sediments, where nitrification genes (amoA/B/C) and denitrification genes (nirK and norB) became less abundant. Three metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) of diazotrophs from deep mangrove sediments indicated their facultatively anaerobic and mixotrophic lifestyles as they contained genes for low-oxygen-dependent metabolism, hydrogenotrophic respiration, carbon fixation, and pyruvate fermentation., Conclusions: This study demonstrates the depth-dependent variability of biological nitrogen fixation in terms of NFR and diazotrophic communities, which to a certain extent relieves the degree of nitrogen limitation in deep mangrove sediments.
