Meningitis induced by Pasteurella multocida has been substantially described in clinical practice in both human and veterinary medicine, but the underlying mechanisms have not been previously reported. In this study, we investigated the influence of P. multocida infection on the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) using different models. Our in vivo tests in a mouse model and in vitro tests using human brain microvascular endothelial cell (hBMEC) model showed that P. multocida infection increased murine BBB permeability in mice and hBMEC monolayer permeability. Furthermore, we observed that P. multocida infection resulted in decreased expression of tight junctions (ZO1, claudin-5, occludin) and adherens junctions (E-cadherin) between neighboring hBMECs. Subsequent experiments revealed that P. multocida infection promoted the activation of hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α)/vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) signaling and NF-κB signaling, and suppressed the HIF-1α/VEGFA significantly remitted the decrease in ZO1/E-cadherin induced by P. multocida infection (P < 0.001). NF-κB signaling was found to contribute to the production of chemokines such as TNF-1α, IL-β, and IL-6. Additionally, transmission electron microscopy revealed that paracellular migration might be the strategy employed by P. multocida to cross the BBB. This study provides the first evidence of the migration strategy used by P. multocida to traverse the mammalian BBB. Biomaterials are substances that can be injected, implanted, or applied to the surface of tissues in biomedical applications and have the ability to interact with biological systems to initiate therapeutic responses. Biomaterial-based vaccine delivery systems possess robust packaging capabilities, enabling sustained and localized drug release at the target site. Throughout the vaccine delivery process, they can contribute to protecting, stabilizing, and guiding the immunogen while also serving as adjuvants to enhance vaccine efficacy. In this article, we provide a comprehensive review of the contributions of biomaterials to the advancement of vaccine development. We begin by categorizing biomaterial types and properties, detailing their reprocessing strategies, and exploring several common delivery systems, such as polymeric nanoparticles, lipid nanoparticles, hydrogels, and microneedles. Additionally, we investigated how the physicochemical properties and delivery routes of biomaterials influence immune responses. Notably, we delve into the design considerations of biomaterials as vaccine adjuvants, showcasing their application in vaccine development for cancer, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, influenza, corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19), tuberculosis, malaria, and hepatitis B. Throughout this review, we highlight successful instances where biomaterials have enhanced vaccine efficacy and discuss the limitations and future directions of biomaterials in vaccine delivery and immunotherapy. Purpose: This current study attempted to investigate whether one-stitch method (OM) of temporary ileostomy influenced the stoma-related complications after laparoscopic low anterior resection (LLAR)., Methods: We searched for eligible studies in four databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and CNKI from inception to July 20, 2023. Both surgical outcomes and stoma-related complications were compared between the OM group and the traditional method (TM) group. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) was adopted for quality assessment. RevMan 5.4 was conducted for data analyzing., Results: Totally 590 patients from six studies were enrolled in this study (272 patients in the OM group and 318 patients in the TM group). No significant difference was found in baseline information (P > 0.05). Patients in the OM group had shorter operative time in both the primary LLAR surgery (MD = - 17.73, 95%CI = - 25.65 to - 9.80, P < 0.01) and the stoma reversal surgery (MD = - 18.70, 95%CI = - 22.48 to -14.92, P < 0.01) than patients in the TM group. There was no significant difference in intraoperative blood loss of the primary LLAR surgery (MD = - 2.92, 95%CI = - 7.15 to 1.32, P = 0.18). Moreover, patients in the OM group had fewer stoma-related complications than patients in the TM group (OR = 0.55, 95%CI = 0.38 to 0.79, P < 0.01)., Conclusion: The OM group had shorter operation time in both the primary LLAR surgery and the stoma reversal surgery than the TM group. Objective: Diabetes is considered a significant risk factor for the development of atrial fibrillation/flutter (AF/AFL). However, there is still insufficient evidence to determine the varying effects of different hypoglycemic drugs (HDs) on the incidence of new-onset AF/AFL in diabetic patients. To address this gap, we conducted a network meta-analysis to investigate whether various HDs have different effects on the risk of new-onset AF/AFL compared with insulin., Method: We conducted a comprehensive search in PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science to identify all clinical trials investigating the association between various HDs or insulin and incident AF/AFL up until April 1, 2024. Bayesian random-effects model was used for network meta-analysis, and the results were expressed as relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI)., Result: After searching 2070 articles, a total of 12 studies (2,349,683 patients) were included in the network meta-analysis. The treatment regimen comprised insulin and 8 HDs hypoglycemic drugs, which are sodium-dependent glucose transporters 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i), glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA), dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors (DPP4i), metformin (Met), sulfonylureas (SU), non-sulfonylureas (nSU), thiazolidinedione (TZD) and α-glycosidase inhibitors (AGI). The use of SGLT2i [RR 0.23, 95%CI (0.11, 0.49)], GLP-1RA [RR 0.28, 95%CI (0.13, 0.57)], and DPP4i [RR 0.34, 95%CI (0.17, 0.67)] demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing the incidence of new-onset AF/AFL when compared to insulin. When HDs were compared in pairs, SGLT2i is more effective than Met [RR 0.35, 95% CI (0.19, 0.62)], SU (RR 0.27, 95% CI (0.14, 0.51)], nSU [RR 0.28, 95% CI (0.08, 0.95)], TZD [RR 0.34, 95% CI (0.17, 0.7)], GLP-1RA is more effective Met [RR 0.42, 95% CI (0.25, 0.71)], SU (RR 0.33, 95% CI (0.18, 0.6)], TZD [RR 0.41, 95% CI (0.21, 0.82)], while Met[RR 1.98, 95% CI (1.23, 3.23)], SU [RR 2.54, 95% CI (1.46, 4.43)], TZD [RR 2.01, 95% CI (1.05, 3.79)] was not as effective as DPP4i., Conclusion: SGLT-2i, GLP-1RA, and DPP4i showed a superior efficacy in reducing the risk of new-onset AF/AFL compared to insulin therapy., (© 2024. Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a leading cause of cancer-related death in men. Understanding the proteomic landscape associated with PCa risk can provide insights into its molecular mechanisms and pave the way for potential therapeutic interventions., Methods: A proteome-wide Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was employed to determine associations between genetically predicted protein concentrations in plasma and PCa risk. From an initial list of 4,364 proteins, significant associations were identified and validated. Multiple sensitivity analyses were also conducted to enhance the robustness of our findings., Results: Of the 4,364 genetically predicted proteins, 308 exhibited preliminary associations with PCa risk. After rigorous statistical refinement, genetically predicted concentrations of 14 proteins showed positive associations with PCa risk, with odds ratios spanning from 1.55 (95% CI 1.28-1.87) for ATG4B to 2.67 (95% CI 1.94-3.67) for HCN1. In contrast, genetically predicted concentrations of ATG7, B2M, MSMB, and TMEM108 demonstrated inverse associations with PCa. The replication analysis further substantiated positive associations for MDH1 and LSM1, and a negative one for MSMB with PCa. A meta-analysis harmonizing primary and replication data mirrored these findings. Furthermore, the MVMR analysis pinpointed B2M and MSMB as having significant associations with PCa risk., Conclusion: The genetic evidence unveils a refined set of proteins associated with PCa risk. The findings underscore the potential of these proteins as molecular markers or therapeutic targets for PCa, calling for deeper mechanistic studies and exploration into their translational relevance., (© 2024. Background: Caregiver self-efficacy is crucial in improving patient outcomes and caregiver well-being, but there is a lack of suitable scales to assess this concept within the context of Chinese culture. This study aimed to cross-culturally translate the Caregiver Self-Efficacy in Contributing to Patient Self-Care (CSE-CSC) Scale and evaluate its psychometric properties using classical test theory and item response theory., Methods: The CSE-CSC scale was adapted using Brislin's translation model after obtaining authorization from the original author. A multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the psychometric properties of this scale. Classical test theory was used to evaluate reliability (internal consistency, test-retest reliability), validity (content validity, structural validity, convergent validity), and floor and ceiling effects. Item response theory was employed to assess the fit of the rating scale model, reliability, item difficulties, and measurement invariance., Results: The translation and cultural adaptation process was completed. Classical test theory demonstrated good internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.935) and test-retest reliability (ICC from 0.784 to 0.829, p<0.001). The I-CVI and K* of each item ranged from 0.875 to 1.00 and 0.871 to 1.00. The first-order 2-factor model fit well (χ 2 /df = 3.71, RMSEA = 0.082, SRMR = 0.032, CFI = 0.973, TLI = 0.60). Convergent validity showed that the CSE-CSC scores had a strong positive correlation with three separate scales of the CC-SC-CII. There was no floor and ceiling effect in this scale. Rasch analysis showed that the CSE-CSC scale demonstrated a good fit to the rating scale model and exhibited excellent reliability (person/item separation index>2, person/item reliability coefficients>0.8). The Wright map showed that item difficulty matched the respondents' measured abilities. The analysis of differential item functioning (DIF) showed that all items were comparable in gender., Conclusions: This study indicated that the CSE-CSC scale had good reliability, validity, difficulty degree, and measurement invariance. Background: There is a scarcity of prospective clinical research evidence regarding the utilization of transvaginal natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) as a treatment option for ovarian cysts. The objective of this study was to assess the feasibility and safety of employing vNOTES for the management of ovarian cysts., Methods: Our study included women between the ages of 18 and 70 who intended to undergo surgical intervention for benign lesions. Stratified blocked randomization was employed to allocate participants into groups. The main objective was to assess whether the assigned group adhered to the recommended surgical technique for ovarian cystectomy or adnexectomy, without any deviation to alternative surgical methods., Results: A total of 196 patients were included in the study, with all surgeries in each group being conducted according to the assigned procedures. Among them, the ovarian cystectomy layer included 58 cases in the vNOTES group and 58 cases in the conventional laparoscopy (CL) groups. The adnexectomy layer included 40 cases in the vNOTES group and 40 cases in the CL group. Utilizing a sensitivity analysis, the two-sided 95% lower confidence limit was determined to be 5.5% for the disparity in proportions between the vNOTES groups and CL groups. These lower limits fell below the predetermined non-inferiority margin of 10%., Conclusions: The study findings demonstrate that vNOTES was not inferior to CL in terms of adnexectomy or ovarian cystectomy. vNOTES can be considered a more minimally invasive surgical approach, as it results in reduced postoperative pain, faster recovery, and absence of visible incisions. Background: The cashmere goat industry is one of the main pillars of animal husbandry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and plays an irreplaceable role in local economic development. With the change in feeding methods and environment, the cashmere produced by Inner Mongolia cashmere goats shows a tendency of coarser, and the cashmere yield can not meet the consumption demand of people. However, the genetic basis behind these changes is not fully understood. We measured cashmere traits, including cashmere yield (CY), cashmere diameter (CD), cashmere thickness (CT), and fleece length (FL) traits for four consecutive years, and utilized Genome-wide association study of four cashmere traits in Inner Mongolia cashmere goats was carried out using new genomics tools to infer genomic regions and functional loci associated with cashmere traits and to construct haplotypes that significantly affect cashmere traits., Results: We estimated the genetic parameters of cashmere traits in Inner Mongolia cashmere goats. The heritability of cashmere yield, cashmere diameter, and fleece length traits of Inner Mongolia cashmere goats were 0.229, 0.359, and 0.250, which belonged to the medium heritability traits (0.2 ~ 0.4). The cashmere thickness trait has a low heritability of 0.053. We detected 151 genome-wide significantly associated SNPs with four cashmere traits on different chromosomes, which were very close to the chromosomes of 392 genes (located within the gene or within ± 500 kb). Notch3, BMPR1B, and CCNA2 have direct functional associations with fibroblasts and follicle stem cells, which play important roles in hair follicle growth and development. Based on GO functional annotation and KEGG enrichment analysis, potential candidate genes were associated with pathways of hair follicle genesis and development (Notch, P13K-Akt, TGF-beta, Cell cycle, Wnt, MAPK). We calculated the effective allele number of the Inner Mongolia cashmere goat population to be 1.109-1.998, the dominant genotypes of most SNPs were wild-type, the polymorphic information content of 57 SNPs were low polymorphism (0 < PIC < 0.25), and the polymorphic information content of 79 SNPs were moderate polymorphism (0.25 < PIC < 0.50). We analyzed the association of SNPs with phenotypes and found that the homozygous mutant type of SNP1 and SNP3 was associated with the highest cashmere yield, the heterozygous mutant type of SNP30 was associated with the lowest cashmere thickness, the wild type of SNP76, SNP77, SNP78, SNP80, and SNP81 was associated with the highest cashmere thickness, and the wild type type of SNP137 was associated with the highest fleece length. 21 haplotype blocks and 68 haplotype combinations were constructed. Haplotypes A2A2, B2B2, C2C2, and D4D4 were associated with increased cashmere yield, haplotypes E2E2, F1F1, G5G5, and G1G5 were associated with decreased cashmere fineness, haplotypes H2H2 was associated with increased cashmere thickness, haplotypes I1I1, I1I2, J1J4, L5L3, N3N2, N3N3, O2O1, P2P2, and Q3Q3 were associated with increased cashmere length. We verified the polymorphism of 8 SNPs by KASP, and found that chr7&#95;g.102631194A > G, chr10&#95;g.82715068 T > C, chr1&#95;g.124483769C > T, chr24&#95;g.12811352C > T, chr6&#95;g.114111249A > G, and chr6&#95;g.115606026 T > C were significantly genotyped in verified populations (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: In conclusion, the genetic effect of single SNP on phenotypes is small, and SNPs are more inclined to be inherited as a whole. By constructing haplotypes from SNPs that are significantly associated with cashmere traits, it will help to reveal the complex and potential causal variations in cashmere traits of Inner Mongolia cashmere goats. Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic immune system disease with a high disability rate threatening the living quality of patients. Identifying potential biomarkers for RA is of necessity to improve the prevention and management of RA., Objectives: This study focused on miR-146b-3p evaluating its clinical significance and revealing the underlying regulatory mechanisms., Materials and Methods: A total of 107 RA patients were enrolled, and both serum and synovial tissues were collected. Another 78 osteoarthritis patients (OA, providing synovial tissues), and 72 healthy individuals (providing serum samples) were enrolled as the control group. The expression of miR-146b-3p was analyzed by PCR and analyzed with ROC and Pearson correlation analyses evaluating its significance in diagnosis and development prediction of RA patients. In vitro, MH7A cells were treated with TNF-α. The regulation of cell proliferation, motility, and inflammation by miR-146b-3p was assessed by CCK8, Transwell, and ELISA assays., Results: Significant upregulation of miR-146b-3p was observed in serum and synovial tissues of RA patients, which distinguished RA patients and were positively correlated with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies (anti-CCP), and rheumatoid factor (RF) of RA patients. TNF-α promoted the proliferation and motility of MH7A cells and induced significant inflammation in cells. Silencing miR-146b-3p alleviated the effect of TNF-α and negatively regulated the expression of HMGCR. The knockdown of HMGCR reversed the protective effect of miR-146b-3p silencing on TNF-α-stimulated MH7A cells., Conclusions: Increased miR-146b-3p served as a biomarker for the diagnosis and severity of RA. Purpose: The objective of this paper is to offer a thorough examination of the clinical presentations, etiology, and treatment strategies associated with perivascular epithelioid cell tumors (PEComas)., Methods: This retrospective study examined the comprehensive archival data of PEComa cases diagnosed at Beijing Hospital from 2015 to 2023. The pathology slides of all patients were thoroughly reassessed by two experienced pathologists. A thorough retrospective analysis was undertaken, incorporating clinicopathological data including gender, age at diagnosis, initial clinical manifestations, signs, disease onset site, tumor markers, imaging findings, therapeutic modalities, pathological features, immunohistochemical profiles, treatment responses, and prognostic indicators. Patients were evaluated for disease severity according to established pathological classification criteria and were followed up until the designated analysis cut-off date. In instances where patients were unable to be monitored on-site, they were contacted via telephone for postoperative follow-up inquiries., Results: This study included 11 patients with ages ranging from 17 to 66 years old, presenting with the disease in multiple anatomical sites, including the retroperitoneum (2/11), liver (4/11), kidney (4/11), lung (1/11), and broad ligament of the uterus (1/11). Most patients presented with non-specific clinical symptoms and were subsequently diagnosed with space-occupying lesions upon physical examination. The tumor demonstrated progressive growth and enlargement, which could result in compression of neighboring organs. Preoperative imaging alone is insufficient for a definitive diagnosis of PEComa, but MRI can provide an initial evaluation of the tumor's potential malignancy. Molecular marker testing specific to PEComa, such as HMB-45 (90.0%), SMA (81.8%), Melan-A (90.9%), vimentin (90.9%), and Desmin (36.3%), was conducted on all patients. No adjuvant therapies were administered postoperatively. Upon analysis, no instances of relapse at the primary site or the development of new tumors at other sites were observed. Regular imaging reviews of three patients with malignant PEComa post-surgery showed no evidence of recurrence., Conclusions: The clinical presentation, tumor biomarkers, and imaging characteristics of PEComa lack specificity, necessitating dependence on pathology and immunohistochemistry for precise diagnosis. Background: Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is an interstitial pneumonia caused by pneumocystis jirovecii (PJ). The diagnosis of PJP primarily relies on the detection of the pathogen from lower respiratory tract specimens. However, it faces challenges such as difficulty in obtaining specimens and low detection rates. In the clinical diagnosis process, it is necessary to combine clinical symptoms, serological test results, chest Computed tomography (CT) images, molecular biology techniques, and metagenomics next-generation sequencing (mNGS) for comprehensive analysis., Purpose: This study aims to overcome the limitations of traditional PJP diagnosis methods and develop a non-invasive, efficient, and accurate diagnostic approach for PJP. By using this method, patients can receive early diagnosis and treatment, effectively improving their prognosis., Methods: We constructed an intelligent diagnostic model for PJP based on the different Convolutional Neural Networks. Firstly, we used the Convolutional Neural Network to extract CT image features from patients. Then, we fused the CT image features with clinical information features using a feature fusion function. Finally, the fused features were input into the classification network to obtain the patient's diagnosis result., Results: In this study, for the diagnosis of PJP, the accuracy of the traditional PCR diagnostic method is 77.58%, while the mean accuracy of the optimal diagnostic model based on convolutional neural networks is 88.90%., Conclusion: The accuracy of the diagnostic method proposed in this paper is 11.32% higher than that of the traditional PCR diagnostic method. Hydrogels are a class of highly absorbent and easily modified polymer materials suitable for use as slow-release carriers for drugs. Gene therapy is highly specific and can overcome the limitations of traditional tissue engineering techniques and has significant advantages in tissue repair. However, therapeutic genes are often affected by cellular barriers and enzyme sensitivity, and carrier loading of therapeutic genes is essential. Therapeutic gene hydrogels can well overcome these difficulties. Moreover, gene-therapeutic hydrogels have made considerable progress. This review summarizes the recent research on carrier gene hydrogels for the treatment of tissue damage through a summary of the most current research frontiers. We initially introduce the classification of hydrogels and their cross-linking methods, followed by a detailed overview of the types and modifications of therapeutic genes, a detailed discussion on the loading of therapeutic genes in hydrogels and their characterization features, a summary of the design of hydrogels for therapeutic gene release, and an overview of their applications in tissue engineering. Finally, we provide comments and look forward to the shortcomings and future directions of hydrogels for gene therapy. We hope that this article will provide researchers in related fields with more comprehensive and systematic strategies for tissue engineering repair and further promote the development of the field of hydrogels for gene therapy., (© 2024. Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a chronic lung disease characterized by retarded alveolarization. Tenascin-C (TN-C), an extracellular matrix glycoprotein and soluble molecule, is involved in tissue morphogenesis. In the present study, we demonstrated that the level of TN-C in lung tissues was greater in a mouse model of BPD induced by 85% oxygen. TN-C deficiency, however, impaired alveolarization in the hyperoxia-induced BPD model. In contrast, a functional TN-C blocking antibody ameliorated alveolar dysplasia in BPD-like mice. Mechanistically, hyperoxia increased the soluble TN-C (sTN-C) released from respiratory epithelial cells. On one hand, low-dose sTN-C promoted lung epithelial cell proliferation and migration, which was mediated by ICAM-1. On the other hand, high-dose sTN-C hindered the proliferation and migration of epithelial cells. Background and Objective: The pathogenesis of coronal suture craniosynostosis is often attributed to the dysregulated cellular dynamics, particularly the excessive proliferation and abnormal osteogenic differentiation of suture cells. Despite its clinical significance, the molecular mechanims of this condition remain inadequately understood. This study is dedicated to exploring the influence of the Periostin/Bone Morphogenetic Protein 1 (BMP1) axis on the growth and osteogenic maturation of Suture Mesenchymal Stem Cells (SMSCs), which are pivotal in suture homeostasis., Methods: Neonatal TWIST Basic Helix-Loop-Helix Transcription Factor 1 heterozygous (TWIST1 +/- ) mice, aged one day, were subjected to adenoviral vector-mediated Periostin upregulation. To modulate Periostin/BMP1 levels in SMSCs, we employed siRNA and pcDNA 3.1 vectors. Histological and molecular characterizations, including hematoxylin and eosin staining, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry were employed to study suture closure phenotypes and protein expression patterns. Cellular assays, encompassing colony formation, 5-ethynyl-2'deoxyuridine, and wound healing tests were conducted to analyze SMSC proliferation and migration. Osteogenic differentiation was quantified using Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) and Alizarin Red S (ARS) staining, while protein markers of proliferation and differentiation were evaluated by Western blotting. The direct interaction between Periostin and BMP1 was validated through co-immunoprecipitation assays., Results: In the TWIST1 +/- model, an upregulation of Periostin coupled with a downregulation of BMP1 was observed. Augmenting Periostin expression mitigated craniosynostosis. In vitro, overexpression of Periostin or BMP1 knockdown suppressed SMSC proliferation, migration, and osteogenic differentiation. Periostin knockdown manifested an inverse biological impact. Notably, the suppressive influence of Periostin overexpression on SMSCs was effectively counteracted by upregulating BMP1. There was a direct interaction between Periostin and BMP1., Conclusion: These findings underscore the significance of the Periostin/BMP1 axis in regulating craniosynostosis and SMSC functions, providing new insights into the molecular mechanisms of craniosynostosis and potential targets for therapeutic intervention., (© 2024. Background: The long-term sequelae of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in children are unclear. We investigated COVID-19 symptoms in school-aged children to determine their impact on patients and their families., Methods: This cross-sectional study, conducted on February 25-28, 2023, selected a representative kindergarten and 9-year school from Shenzhen, China. There were randomly two classes each for the 12 grades from kindergarten to junior high school. The school-aged children were aged 3-16 years. Literate parents completed an online questionnaire related to their children's COVID-19 symptoms since December 1, 2022. Descriptive statistics were computed as necessary. Univariate and multivariable linear regression analyses were performed, and variables with a p-value < 0.05 were considered to have a significant association with the subjective feeling scores for COVID-19 infection., Results: We included 936 school-aged children, with a COVID-19 infection rate of 68.5%. The prevalence of LC 28 (illness with symptoms lasting for 28 days) was 3.4%. During acute infection, the median number of the 641 children's symptoms was 3.0 (IQR: 1.0-5.0) and the median score of subjective feelings was 15.0 (IQR: 11.0-24.5). The top three symptoms were fever, cough/expectoration, and rhinobyon. Age of 13-16 years (adjusted beta: 3.60, 95% CI: 0.32-6.88) and comorbidities (adjusted beta: 3.47, 95% CI: 1.20-5.73) were independently associated with higher subjective feelings (p < 0.05). The top three characteristics associated with LC 28 were alopecia (33.3%, 5/15), cognitive dysfunction (29.2%, 7/24), and emotional problem (28.6%, 6/21)., Conclusions: Children with COVID-19 have a short duration of symptoms and milder symptoms, so they can self-medicate to minimize hospital crowding. Background: The instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) among the elderly have been found to be heterogeneous, with different trajectories. However, the transition of the IADL over time remains unclear. We aimed to explore the transition probabilities and the predictors of IADL among the elderly., Methods: Longitudinal data from the 2014 (T1) and 2018 (T2) waves of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey were extracted. A sample of 2,944 participants aged 65 years or older, with complete responses to the IADL scale, was included. Latent profile analysis (LPA) and latent transition analysis (LTA) were employed to identify latent profiles of IADL and investigate the transition probabilities between profiles from T1 to T2. The predictors of latent profiles and transition probabilities were examined using multinomial regression analysis., Results: The results of LPA at both T1 and T2 supported a 4-profile model solution. They were labeled as the "Normal function profile," "Mildly impaired profile," "Moderately impaired profile," and "Highly impaired profile". The Normal function profile and Highly impaired profile were characterized by maintaining stability rather than transitioning over time, with transition probabilities of 0.71 and 0.68, respectively, for maintaining stability. The Mildly impaired profile and Moderately impaired profile were characterized by a stronger tendency towards transition rather than stability, with transition probabilities of 0.29 and 0.45, respectively, of transitioning to the Highly impaired profile. The transition probabilities from the three impaired function profiles to the Normal function profile ranged from 0.05 to 0.19. Age, gender, place of residence, and social participation were significant predictors of profile attribution at T1 and transition probabilities over time., Conclusions: This study employed the LTA to examine the transition probability of IADL among the Chinese elderly. By recognizing the different profiles of IADL and understanding the factors associated with transitions among the elderly, interventions can be tailored to improve their functional independence and successful reintegration into families and society., (© 2024. Objective: This study aimed to systematically assess the incidence and risk factors for hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) in hip fracture patients by meta-analysis., Methods: Systematically searched four English databases (PubMed, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, and Web Of Science) and four Chinese databases (CNKI, CQVIP, Sinomed, and WAN FANG) from inception until 20 November 2023. All studies involving risk factors of HAP in patients with hip fractures were considered. Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. The results were presented with the pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI)., Results: Of 35 articles (337,818 patients) included in this study, the incidence of HAP was 89 per 1000 cases. Twenty-three risk factors were eventually involved in the meta-analysis, and 21 risk factors were significant. Our study has identified four significant risk factors (advanced age, preoperative time, COPD, and hypoalbuminemia) associated with HAP, as follows: Advanced age as a continuous variable (OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.05-1.10), Advanced age > 70 years (OR 2.34, 95% CI 1.77-3.09), Advanced age > 80 years (OR 2.98, 95% CI 2.06-4.31), Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (OR 3.44, 95% CI 2.83-4.19), Time from injury to operation as a continuous variable (OR 1.09, 95% CI 1.07-1.12), Time from injury to operation ≥48 h (OR 3.59, 95% CI 2.88-4.48), Hypoalbuminemia < 3.0 g/dL (OR 3.03, 95% CI 1.93-4.73), and Hypoalbuminemia < 3.5 g/dL (OR 2.68, 95% CI 2.15-3.36). However, it is important to note that all the studies included in our research were retrospective in nature, which introduces certain limitations to the level of evidence and the ability to establish causal inferences., Discussion: Patients who have suffered hip fractures are at an increased risk of developing postoperative hospital-acquired pneumonia, which can lead to prolonged hospital stays and adverse clinical outcomes. Background: T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing molecule-3 (TIM-3) initially discovered on the surface of Th1 cells, negatively regulates immune responses and mediates apoptosis of Th1 cells. An increasing number of studies have since shown that TIM-3 is crucial in the genesis and development of immune diseases, cancers, and chronic infectious illnesses. However, the effect of TIM-3 on endometriosis is still unknown., Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry were used to measure TIM-3 levels in endometriosis. Cell Counting Kit-8, 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine, colony-forming, Transwell® migration, Matrigel® invasion, and flow cytometry assays were used to explore the function of TIM-3 in vitro, and xenograft experiments in nude mice were used to assess its role in vivo. According to the RNA seq, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) was screened. The involvement of specific proliferation-related signaling molecules was determined by transfecting a plasmid and adding an inhibitor in vivo and in vitro., Results: TIM-3 mRNA and protein expression levels were significantly higher in eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissues than in normal endometrial tissues. By examining the effects of TIM-3 overexpression and knockdown on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in vitro, and lesions formation in vivo, we found that the expression of TIM-3 was positively correlated with cell proliferation and clone formation in vitro, as well as lesions growth in nude mice. By adding the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/AKT) pathway inhibitor LY294002 and knocking down PI3K, we further verified that TIM-3 promotes proliferation in vivo and in vitro via the PI3K pathway. By transfecting the plasmid into ESC cells and gave inhibitors to endometriotic rats models, we tested that TIM-3 regulates the proliferation by BDNF-mediated PI3K/AKT axis., Conclusion: TIM-3 can promote the proliferation of endometriosis by BDNF-mediated PI3K/AKT axis in vivo and in vitro, which may provide a new therapeutic target for the treatment of endometriosis., (© 2023. Background: Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection is a common viral disease that mainly causes oral lesions, but can also cause genital lesions in some instances. Current treatments with nucleoside analogs are limited by the emergence of drug resistance. Therefore, novel anti-HSV-1 drugs are urgently needed., Methods: In this study, we screened a library of 2080 compounds for anti-HSV-1 activity using a plaque formation assay. We selected 11 potential inhibitors of HSV-1 and further evaluated their antiviral effects by plaque reduction assay and real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR)., Results: Five compounds, namely ginsenoside Rd, brassinolide, rosamultin, 3'-hydroxy puerarin, and clinafloxacin HCl, showed potent anti-HSV-1 activity and completely suppressed plaque formation at a concentration of 10 µM. Among them, clinafloxacin HCl, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibited a high selectivity index for HSV-1., Conclusions: Our findings suggest that these five compounds have potential antiviral properties against HSV-1 and may have different mechanisms of action. Background: Ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction (UTMD) has emerged as a promising strategy for the targeted delivery of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to the ischemic myocardium. However, the limited migration capacity and poor survival of MSCs remains a major therapeutic barrier. The present study was performed to investigate the synergistic effect of UTMD with platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) on the homing of MSCs for acute myocardial infarction (AMI)., Methods: MSCs from male donor rats were treated with PDGF-BB, and a novel microbubble formulation was prepared using a thin-film hydration method. In vivo, MSCs with or without PDGF-BB pretreatment were transplanted by UTMD after inducing AMI in experimental rats. The therapeutic efficacy of PDGF-BB-primed MSCs on myocardial apoptosis, angiogenesis, cardiac function and scar repair was estimated. The effects and molecular mechanisms of PDGF-BB on MSC migration and survival were explored in vitro., Results: The results showed that the biological effects of UTMD increased the local levels of stromal-derived factor-1 (SDF-1), which promoted the migration of transplanted MSCs to the ischemic region. Compared with UTMD alone, UTMD combined with PDGF-BB pretreatment significantly increased the cardiac homing of MSCs, which subsequently reduced myocardial apoptosis, promoted neovascularization and tissue repair, and increased cardiac function 30 days after MI. The vitro results demonstrated that PDGF-BB enhanced MSC migration and protected these cells from H 2 O 2 -induced apoptosis. Mechanistically, PDGF-BB pretreatment promoted MSC migration and inhibited H 2 O 2 -induced MSC apoptosis via activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/serine-threonine kinase (PI3K/Akt) pathway. Furthermore, crosstalk between PDGF-BB and stromal-derived factor-1/chemokine receptor 4 (SDF-1/CXCR4) is involved in the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway., Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that UTMD combined with PDGF-BB treatment could enhance the homing ability of MSCs, thus alleviating AMI in rats. Background: Foetal renal dysplasia is still the main cause of adult renal disease. Placenta-derived exosomes are an important communication tool, and they may play an important role in placental (both foetal and maternal) function. We hypothesize that in women with preeclampsia, foetal renal dysplasia is impeded by delivering placenta-derived exosomes to glomerular endothelial cells., Methods: In the present study, we established a PE trophoblast oxidative stress model to isolate exosomes from supernatants by ultracentrifugation (NO-exo and H/R-exo) and collected normal and PE umbilical cord blood plasma to isolate exosomes by ultracentrifugation combined with sucrose density gradient centrifugation (N-exo and PE-exo), then we investigated their effects on foetal kidney development by in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models., Results: The PE trophoblast oxidative stress model was established successfully. After that, in in vitro studies, we found that H/R-exo and PE-exo could adversely affect glomerular endothelial cell proliferation, tubular formation, migration, and barrier functions. In ex vivo studies, H/R-exo and PE-exo both inhibited the growth and branch formation of kidney explants, along with the decrease of VE-cadherin and Occludin. In in vivo studies, we also found that H/R-exo and PE-exo could result in renal dysplasia, reduced glomerular number, and reduced barrier function in foetal mice., Conclusions: In conclusion, we demonstrated that PE placenta-derived exosomes could lead to foetal renal dysplasia by delivering placenta-derived exosomes to foetal glomerular endothelial cells, which provides a novel understanding of the pathogenesis of foetal renal dysplasia. Exosomes originating from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hucMSC-exos) have become a novel strategy for treating various diseases owing to their ability to regulate intercellular signal communication. However, the potential of hucMSC-exos to improve placental injury in obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome and its underlying mechanism remain unclear. Our objective was to explore the potential application of hucMSC-exos in the treatment of obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome and elucidate its underlying mechanism. In our study, hucMSC-exos ameliorated the functional impairment of trophoblasts caused by antiphospholipid antibodies in vitro and attenuated placental dysfunction in mice with obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome by delivering miR-146a-5p. Exosomal miR-146a-5p suppressed the expression of tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) and inhibited the activation of NF-κB signaling, leading to the down-regulation of IL-1β and IL-18 to rescue inflammation and modulation of Cleaved-CASP3, BAX, and BCL2 to inhibit apoptosis in HTR8/SVneo cells and mice placenta. This study identified the potential molecular basis of how hucMSC-exos improved antiphospholipid antibody-induced placental injury and highlighted the functional importance of the miR-146a-5p/TRAF6 axis in the progression of obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome. Background: Early availability of pathogen identification in urinary tract infections (UTIs) has critical importance in disease management. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) has the potential to transform how acute and serious infections are diagnosed by offering unbiased and culture-free pathogen detection. However, clinical experience with application of the mNGS test is relatively limited., Methods: We therefore established a MinION-based mNGS pathogens diagnostic platform and evaluated its potential for clinical implementation in UTIs with clinical samples. 213 urine samples from patients with suspected UTIs were included and subjected to mNGS testing using the MinION platform. mNGS results were compared to the gold standard of clinical culture and composite standard of combining clinical testing, confirmatory qPCR testing, and clinical adjudication by doctors., Results: The mNGS exhibited a sensitivity of 81.4% and a specificity of 92.3%, along with a positive predictive value of 96.6%, a negative predictive value of 64.9%, and an overall accuracy of 84.4%, all of which were determined based on the gold standard of routine culture results. When assessed against the composite standard, the sensitivity and specificity both increased to 89.9% and 100%, respectively, while the accuracy rose to 92.4%. Notably, the positive predictive value and negative predictive value also saw improvements, reaching 100% and 76.8%, respectively. Moreover, this diagnostic platform successfully identified dsDNA viruses. Among the 65 culture-negative samples, the viral detection rate reached 33.8% (22/65) and was subsequently validated through qPCR. Furthermore, the automatic bioinformatics pipeline we developed enabled one-click analysis from data to results, leading to a significant reduction in diagnosis time., Conclusion: These results demonstrate that the pathogen detection performance of mNGS is sufficient for diagnostic testing in clinical settings. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between hypoalbuminemia upon admission and the incidence of postoperative urinary tract infections (UTIs) in elderly patients with hip fractures., Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical records of elderly patients who underwent surgical treatment for hip fractures at a level I trauma center from 2013 to 2023. Serum albumin levels were measured upon admission, and hypoalbuminemia was defined as a total albumin level < 35 g/L. Multivariable logistic regression and propensity score matching analysis were utilized to control and reduce potential confounding factors, aiming to obtain adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for UTIs to determine the strength of the association., Results: This observational cohort study included 1279 patients, among whom 298 (23.3%) developed UTIs. Patients with albumin levels < 35 g/L had significantly greater odds of developing UTIs compared to those with albumin levels ≥ 35 g/L (OR 1.86, 95% CI 1.28-2.70). Further analysis, dividing albumin levels into quartiles, demonstrated that patients in the Q2 group (38.0-40.9 g/L; OR 1.38, 95% CI 0.88-2.17), Q3 group (35.0-37.9 g/L; OR 1.69, 95% CI 1.06-2.71), and Q4 group (15.3-34.9 g/L; OR 2.67, 95% CI 1.61-4.43) had notably higher odds of developing UTIs compared to those in the Q1 group (41.0-52.0 g/L)., Conclusions: The presence of hypoalbuminemia upon admission in elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery is strongly correlated with the occurrence of postoperative UTIs. Ubiquitination is one of the most significant post-translational modifications that regulate almost all physiological processes like cell proliferation, autophagy, apoptosis, and cell cycle progression. Contrary to ubiquitination, deubiquitination removes ubiquitin from targeted protein to maintain its stability and thus regulate cellular homeostasis. Ubiquitin-Specific Protease 12 (USP12) belongs to the biggest family of deubiquitinases named ubiquitin-specific proteases and has been reported to be correlated with various pathophysiological processes. In this review, we initially introduce the structure and biological functions of USP12 briefly and summarize multiple substrates of USP12 as well as the underlying mechanisms. Moreover, we discuss the influence of USP12 on tumorigenesis, tumor immune microenvironment (TME), disease, and related signaling pathways. This study also provides updated information on the roles and functions of USP12 in different types of cancers and other diseases, including prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, cardiac hypertrophy, multiple myeloma, and Huntington's disease. Osteosarcoma is the most prevalent and fatal type of bone tumor. Despite advancements in the treatment of other cancers, overall survival rates for patients with osteosarcoma have stagnated over the past four decades Multiple-drug resistance-the capacity of cancer cells to become simultaneously resistant to multiple drugs-remains a significant obstacle to effective chemotherapy. The recent studies have shown that noncoding RNAs can regulate the expression of target genes. It has been proposed that "competing endogenous RNA" activity forms a large-scale regulatory network across the transcriptome, playing important roles in pathological conditions such as cancer. Numerous studies have highlighted that circular RNAs (circRNAs) and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) can bind to microRNA (miRNA) sites as competitive endogenous RNAs, thereby affecting and regulating the expression of mRNAs and target genes. These circRNA/lncRNA-associated competitive endogenous RNAs are hypothesized to play significant roles in cancer initiation and progression. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) play an important role in tumor resistance to chemotherapy. However, the molecular mechanisms of the lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA competitive endogenous RNA network in drug resistance of osteosarcoma remain unclear. An in-depth study of the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in osteosarcoma and the elucidation of effective intervention targets are of great significance for improving the overall recovery of patients with osteosarcoma. Purpose: Investigate the association between the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) about the presence of postoperative pneumonia (POP) in geriatric patients with hip fractures. Compare the predictive value of these biomarkers for POP and assess their potential for early detection of POP., Methods: We retrospectively included elderly patients with hip fractures who underwent surgical treatment at our institution. POP was diagnosed according to the guidelines provided by the American Thoracic Society. We collected neutrophil, lymphocyte, and platelet counts upon admission to calculate the NLR, PLR, and SII. Receiver operating characteristic curves were utilized to establish the optimal cutoff values for each index. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and propensity score matching analysis were utilized to assess the independent association between each index and POP after adjusting for demographic, comorbidity, and surgery-related variables., Results: The study included a total of 1199 patients, among whom 111 cases (9.26%) developed POP. NLR exhibited the highest predictive value for POP in elderly patients with hip fractures compared to PLR and SII (AUC = 0.648, 95% CI 0.594-0.701). A high NLR, using the optimal cutoff value of 5.84, was significantly associated with an increased incidence of POP (OR = 2.24, 95% CI 1.43-3.51). This finding remained statistically significant even after propensity score matching (OR = 2.04, 95% CI 1.31-3.20)., Conclusions: Among the three inflammatory/immune markers considered, the NLR demonstrates the highest reliability as a predictor for POP in elderly patients with hip fractures. Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate whether there was a difference in overall survival (OS) between elderly patients with early gastric cancer (EGC) who underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and those who underwent surgery., Methods: Four databases including PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library and CKNI were searched on March 20, 2023. The characteristics of the studies and the baseline information of the patients, including their medical histories, postoperative data, and prognoses, were recorded. Odds ratios (ORs) or mean differences (MDs), and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled up to calculate baseline information and postoperative information. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CIs were used to calculate the prognosis of the patients. Stata V16.0 software was used for the data analysis., Results: A total of eight studies involving 2334 patients were included for the data analysis in this study. After pooling up the data, we found that the ESD group had lower Eastern Cooperative Oncology Groupprevious (ECOG) scores (OR = 0.33, 95% CI = 0.17 to 0.65, I 2  = 59.69%, P = 0.00 < 0.05) than the surgery group. There were significant differences in the operation time (MD = -3.38, 95% CI = -5.19 to -1.57, I 2  = 98.31%, P = 0.00 < 0.05), length of hospital stay (MD = -3.01, 95% CI = -4.81 to -1.20, I 2  = 98.83%, P = 0.00 < 0.05) and hospitalization expenses (MD = -2.67, 95% CI = -3.59 to -1.75, I 2  = 93.21%, P = 0.00 < 0.05) between the two groups. The ESD group had a lower OS rate (HR = 2.81, 95% CI = 2.20 to 3.58, I 2  = 12.28%, P = 0.00 < 0.05)., Conclusion: Elderly patients with EGC who underwent ESD had a significantly worse OS rate than those who underwent surgery. Background: Admission hyperglycemia is a common phenomenon in the early stages of injury. This study aimed to determine the relationship between admission hyperglycemia and postoperative pneumonia in geriatric patients with hip fractures., Methods: A total of 600 geriatric patients admitted to Dandong Central Hospital with hip fractures were included. Patients were divided into four groups based on quartiles of admission blood glucose levels: Q1- Q4. Multivariable logistic regression and propensity score-matched analyses were conducted to calculate adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for postoperative pneumonia. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine the cut-off value of admission hyperglycemia for predicting postoperative pneumonia., Results: The incidence of postoperative pneumonia was significantly higher among hyperglycemic patients than those with normal glucose levels (OR = 2.090, 95% CI: 1.135-3.846, p = 0.016). Admission hyperglycemia showed moderate predictive power, with an area under the ROC curve of 0.803. Furthermore, propensity score-matched analyses demonstrated that patients in the Q3 (OR = 4.250, 95% CI: 1.361-13.272, p = 0.013) and Q4 (OR = 4.667, 95% CI: 1.251-17.405, p = 0.022) quartiles had a significantly higher risk of postoperative pneumonia compared to patients in the Q1 quartile., Conclusions: Admission hyperglycemia in elderly hip fracture patients increases the risk of postoperative pneumonia. The objective of this study is to determine the usefulness of blood-based biomarkers, particularly the D-dimer-albumin ratio (DAR), in predicting preoperative DVT., Methods: A retrospective observational study was carried out on 1149 patients from a single hospital, and subsequently validated on an additional 626 patients from a separate hospital. The aim was to evaluate the prognostic and predictive value of 10 biomarkers, with a specific emphasis on DAR, in both cohorts. The primary measure of interest was the occurrence of preoperative DVT., Results: The ratio of D-dimer to albumin demonstrated superior predictive capability for preoperative DVT in older patients with hip fractures compared to other biomarkers (AUC = 0.677). Using the optimal cutoff point of 0.24, high DAR was significantly associated with preoperative DVT (OR 3.45, 95% CI 2.00-5.95). Notably, all the DAR definitions detailed above were successfully validated in an external, independent cohort., Conclusions: DAR may be a valuable biomarker for predicting preoperative DVT in elderly patients with hip fractures., (© 2023. Microsporidia are a class of obligate intracellular parasitic unicellular eukaryotes that infect a variety of hosts, even including humans. Although different species of microsporidia differ in host range and specificity, they all share a similar infection organelle, the polar tube, which is also defined as the polar filament in mature spores. In response to the appropriate environmental stimulation, the spore germinates with the polar filament everted, forming a hollow polar tube, and then the infectious cargo is transported into host cells via the polar tube. Hence, the polar tube plays a key role in microsporidian infection. Here, we review the origin, structure, composition, function, and application of the microsporidian polar tube, focusing on the origin of the polar filament, the structural differences between the polar filament and polar tube, and the characteristics of polar tube proteins. Comparing the three-dimensional structure of PTP6 homologous proteins provides new insight for the screening of additional novel polar tube proteins with low sequence similarity in microsporidia. In addition, the interaction of the polar tube with the spore wall and the host are summarized to better understand the infection mechanism of microsporidia. Due to the specificity of polar tube proteins, they are also used as the target in the diagnosis and prevention of microsporidiosis. Objective: In the present study, we mainly aimed to predict the expression of androgen receptor (AR) in breast cancer (BC) patients by combing radiomic features and clinicopathological factors in a non-invasive machine learning way., Materials and Methods: A total of 48 BC patients, who were initially diagnosed by 18 F-FDG PET/CT, were retrospectively enrolled in this study. LIFEx software was used to extract radiomic features based on PET and CT data. The most useful predictive features were selected by the LASSO (least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) regression and t-test. Radiomic signatures and clinicopathologic characteristics were incorporated to develop a prediction model using multivariable logistic regression analysis. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, Hosmer-Lemeshow (H-L) test, and decision curve analysis (DCA) were conducted to assess the predictive efficiency of the model., Results: In the univariate analysis, the metabolic tumor volume (MTV) was significantly correlated with the expression of AR in BC patients (p < 0.05). However, there only existed feeble correlations between estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and AR status (p = 0.127, p = 0.061, respectively). Based on the binary logistic regression method, MTV, SHAPE&#95;Sphericity CT (CT Sphericity from SHAPE), and GLCM&#95;Contrast CT (CT Contrast from grey-level co-occurrence matrix) were included in the prediction model for AR expression. Among them, GLCM&#95;Contrast CT was an independent predictor of AR status (OR = 9.00, p = 0.018). The area under the curve (AUC) of ROC in this model was 0.832. The p-value of the H-L test was beyond 0.05., Conclusions: A prediction model combining radiomic features and clinicopathological characteristics could be a promising approach to predict the expression of AR and noninvasively screen the BC patients who could benefit from anti-AR regimens., (© 2023. Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) is a facultative, intracellular Gram-positive pathogenic bacterium that causes sepsis, a condition characterized by persistent excessive inflammation and organ dysfunction. However, the pathogenesis of Lm-induced sepsis is unknown. In this research, we discovered that TRIM32 is required for innate immune regulation during Lm infection. Trim32 deficiency remarkably reduced bacteremia and proinflammatory cytokine secretion in mice with severe Lm infection, preventing sepsis. Trim32 -/- mice had a lower bacterial burden after Lm infection and survived significantly longer than wild-type (WT) mice, as well as lower serum levels of inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-6, IL-18, IL-12p70, IFN-β, and IFN-γ at 1 day post infection (dpi) compared to WT mice. On the other hand, the chemokines CXCL1, CCL2, CCL7, and CCL5 were enhanced at 3 dpi in Trim32 -/- mice than WT mice, reflecting increased recruitment of neutrophils and macrophages. Furthermore, Trim32 -/- mice had higher levels of macrophage-associated iNOS to kill Lm. Background: Many previous studies have reported the association between iron overload (IO) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the underlying molecular mechanism is not clear., Methods: Epidemiological data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2017-2018 (NHANES) was used to systematically explore the association between IO and diabetes. Furthermore, transcriptome data from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were analyzed using bioinformatics methods to explore the underlying functional mechanisms at the molecular level., Results: Data from NHANES showed a "W" shape relationship between serum iron (frozen) and the risk of diabetes (P < 0.001) as well as a "∧" shape correlation between serum unsaturated iron binding capacity (UIBC) and the risk of diabetes (P = 0.007). Furthermore, the serum iron (frozen) was positively associated with fasting plasma glucose and HOMAB (P < 0.05), and UIBC was positively associated with fasting insulin (P < 0.05). Transcriptome data showed that two IO-related genes [Transferrin receptor (TFRC) and Solute carrier family-11 member-2 (SLC11A2)] were down-regulated in T2DM. The correlation analysis showed that expression levels of TFRC and SLC11A2 were significantly and positively correlated with genes involved in insulin secretion (P < 0.05). Protein-protein interaction network analysis showed that TFRC and SLC11A2 interacted with four key genes, including VAMP2, HIF1A, SLC2A1, and RAB11FIP2., Conclusion: We found that IO status was associated with increased FPG and aggravated HOMAB, and two IO-related genes (TFRC and SLC11A2) might induce the occurrence of T2DM by influencing insulin secretion, which provides potential therapeutic targets for T2DM patients., (© 2023. Background: Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy is an attractive treatment option for various cancers. Whether MSCs can be used to treat well-differentiated endometrial cancer (EC) remains unclear. The aim of this study is to explore the potential therapeutic effects of MSCs on EC and the underlying mechanisms., Methods: The effects of adipose-derived MSCs (AD-MSCs), umbilical-cord-derived MSCs (UC-MSCs), and endometrium-derived MSCs (eMSCs) on the malignant behaviors of EC cells were explored via in vitro and in vivo experiments. Three EC models, including patient-derived EC organoid lines, EC cell lines, and EC xenograft model in female BALB/C nude mice, were used for this study. The effects of MSCs on EC cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and the growth of xenograft tumors were evaluated. The potential mechanisms by which eMSCs inhibit EC cell proliferation and stemness were explored by regulating DKK1 expression in eMSCs or Wnt signaling in EC cells., Results: Our results showed that eMSCs had the highest inhibitory effect on EC cell viability, and EC xenograft tumor growth in mice compared to AD-MSCs and UC-MSCs. Conditioned medium (CM) obtained from eMSCs significantly suppressed the sphere-forming ability and stemness-related gene expression of EC cells. In comparison to AD-MSCs and UC-MSCs, eMSCs had the highest level of Dickkopf-related protein 1 (DKK1) secretion. Mechanistically, eMSCs inhibited Wnt/β-catenin signaling in EC cells via secretion of DKK1, and eMSCs suppressed EC cell viability and stemness through DKK1-Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Additionally, the combination of eMSCs and medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) significantly inhibited the viability of EC organoids and EC cells compared with eMSCs or MPA alone., Conclusions: The eMSCs, but not AD-MSCs or UC-MSCs, could suppress the malignant behaviors of EC both in vivo and in vitro via inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by secreting DKK1. The combination of eMSCs and MPA effectively inhibited EC growth, indicating that eMSCs may potentially be a new therapeutic strategy for young EC patients desiring for fertility preservation., (© 2023. Background: Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) caused by a variety of enteroviruses remains a major public health problem in China. Previous studies have found that social factors may contribute to the inconsistency of the relationship patterns between meteorological factors and HFMD, but the conclusions are inconsistent. The influence of social factors on the association between meteorology and HFMD is still less well understood. We aimed to analyze whether social factors affected the effect of meteorological factors on HFMD in Sichuan Province., Method: We collected daily data on HFMD, meteorological factors and social factors in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2017. First, we used a Bayesian spatiotemporal model combined with a distributed lag nonlinear model to evaluate the exposure-lag-response association between meteorological factors and HFMD. Second, by constructing the interaction of meteorological factors and social factors in the above model, the changes in the relative risk (RR) under different levels of social factors were evaluated., Results: The cumulative exposure curves for average temperature, relative humidity, and HFMD were shaped like an inverted "V" and a "U" shape. As the average temperature increased, the RR increased and peaked at 19 °C (RR 1.020 [95% confidence interval CI 1.004-1.050]). The urbanization rate, per capita gross domestic product (GDP), population density, birth rate, number of beds in health care centers and number of kindergartens interacted with relative humidity. With the increase in social factors, the correlation curve between relative humidity and HFMD changed from an "S" shape to a "U" shape., Conclusions: Relative humidity and average temperature increased the risk of HFMD within a certain range, and social factors enhanced the impact of high relative humidity. Background: The cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP) has been widely studied to modulate the immune response. Current stimulating strategies are invasive or imprecise. Noninvasive low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has become increasingly appreciated for targeted neuronal modulation. However, its mechanisms and physiological role on myocarditis remain poorly defined., Methods: The mouse model of experimental autoimmune myocarditis was established. Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound was targeted at the spleen to stimulate the spleen nerve. Under different ultrasound parameters, histological tests and molecular biology were performed to observe inflammatory lesions and changes in immune cell subsets in the spleen and heart. In addition, we evaluated the dependence of the spleen nerve and cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound in treating autoimmune myocarditis in mice through different control groups., Results: The echocardiography and flow cytometry of splenic or heart infiltrating immune cells revealed that splenic ultrasound could alleviate the immune response, regulate the proportion and function of CD4+ Treg and macrophages by activating cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, and finally reduce heart inflammatory injury and improve cardiac remodeling, which is as effective as an acetylcholine receptor agonists GTS-21. Transcriptome sequencing showed significant differential expressed genes due to ultrasound modulation., Conclusions: It is worth noting that the ultrasound therapeutic efficacy depends greatly on acoustic pressure and exposure duration, and the effective targeting organ was the spleen but not the heart. Background: The outcomes of patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) were dreadful due to lethal local recurrence and distant metastases. Accumulating evidence suggested that ccRCC was considered a metabolic disease and metabolism-associated genes (MAGs) exerted essential functions in tumor metastases. Thus, this study intends to seek whether the dysregulated metabolism promotes ccRCC metastases and explores underlying mechanisms., Method: Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was employed based on 2131 MAGs to select genes mostly associated with ccRCC metastases for subsequent univariate Cox regression. On this basis, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression and multivariate Cox regression were employed to create a prognostic signature based on the cancer genome atlas kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (TCGA-KIRC) cohort. The prognostic signature was confirmed using E-MTAB-1980 and GSE22541 cohorts. Kaplan-Meier, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and univariate and multivariate Cox regression were applied to detect the predictability and independence of the signature in ccRCC patients. Functional enrichment analyses, immune cell infiltration examinations, and somatic variant investigations were employed to detect the biological roles of the signature., Result: A 12-gene-metabolism-associated prognostic signature, termed the MAPS by our team, was constructed. According to the MAPS, patients were divided into low- and high-risk subgroups and high-risk patients displayed inferior outcomes. The MAPS was validated as an independent and reliable biomarker in ccRCC patients for forecasting the prognosis and progression of ccRCC patients. Functionally, the MAPS was closely associated with metabolism dysregulation, tumor metastases, and immune responses in which the high-risk tumors were in an immunosuppressive status. Besides, high-risk patients benefited more from immunotherapy and held a higher tumor mutation burden (TMB) than low-risk patients., Conclusion: The 12-gene MAPS with prominent biological roles could independently and reliably forecast the outcomes of ccRCC patients, and provide clues to uncover the latent mechanism in which dysregulated metabolism controlled ccRCC metastases., (© 2023. Background: Blau syndrome is a rare autoinflammatory disease caused by autosomal dominant mutations in the CARD15/NOD2 gene. Vascular involvement is a rare phenotype in Blau syndrome patients. In this study, we aimed to describe a 20-year- old Chinese girl with Blau syndrome complicated by renal arteritis. In addition, we summarized a literature review of published cases of vascular involvement in patients with Blau syndrome., Case Presentation: We describe a 20-year-old girl who was initially misdiagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) almost 15 years prior. In October 2019, she developed renal arteritis at the age of 17 years and was eventually diagnosed with Blau syndrome. A de-novo M513T mutation was found in her gene testing. A review of the literature on patients with Blau syndrome and vasculitis showed that a total of 18 cases were reported in the past 40 years. The vast majority of them were predominantly involved medium and large vessel arteritis. Of the 18 patients included in our literature review, 14 patients had aorto-arteritis, and 4 of them had renal artery involvement. Two patients presented with renal artery stenosis, 1with a sinus of Valsalva aneurysm, and 1 with retinal vasculitis., Conclusion: A detailed medical history inquiry and a careful physical examination are helpful for the early identification of Blau syndrome, especially for infant onset refractory JIA. Medium-and large-vessel arteritis is a rare clinical manifestation in Blau syndrome patients. Careful examination of the peripheral pulse and measurement of blood pressure at every regular visit may be helpful in the early identification of Blau syndrome-arteritis. Background: Anterior colporrhaphy (AC) is a conventional surgical repair technique for cystocele but with high recurrence rate. We present a novel technique: Cable-suspended structure (CSS) by non-absorbable suture combined with "bridge" formation in surgical treatment of cystocele. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the long-term outcome of CSS technique for anterior vaginal wall repair with AC., Methods: A retrospective review was performed on patients who underwent anterior vaginal wall repair between January 2012 and March 2017 at our center. All the patients were under a follow-up survey. The primary outcomes were objective cure (anterior prolapse POP-Q ≤ stage 1) and subjective cure (no symptoms of bulge or retreatment for prolapse). Secondary outcomes included quality of life (QOL) and patients' satisfaction, outcomes of site-specific POP-Q points Aa, Ba and C, as well as postoperative complications., Results: Of 91 included participants, 43 underwent AC and 48 underwent CSS. The proportion of sarcrospinous ligament fixation in the CSS group was higher than in the AC group (81.4% vs. 77.1%, P < 0.05). At a median follow-up of 69 months, the CSS group showed significantly higher objective cure rate compared with the AC group (72.9% vs. 51.2%, odds ratio 2.57, 95%CI 1.07-6.16). After adjusting for sarcrospinous ligament fixation, the CSS group still significantly showed higher objective cure rate (adjusted odds ratio 2.88, 95%CI 1.16-7.21). The proportion of the patients with POP-Q 0 stage in the CSS group was particularly higher than the AC group (25% vs. 7.0%, P = 0.025). There was no difference between the groups with respect to subjective cure, patients' satisfaction and postoperative complication., Conclusions: The CSS technique showed better objective outcome than AC, however, subjective cure rate did not significantly differ between the two. Objective: Subthreshold depression (SD) is a global mental health problem given its high prevalence, comorbidity, functional impairment, and its association with increased service utilization. However, currently little is known about sex differences of SD in cognitive impairment with clinical correlates. This study aims to explore sex differences in subjective cognitive impairment and clinically associated risk factors in Chinese patients with subthreshold depression (SD)., Methods: A total of 126 patients with SD, 40 males and 86 females, aged 18-45 years, were included in this cross-sectional observational study. Their general information, psychological assessments, and psychiatric symptom assessments were collected online. The Patient Health Questionnaire depression-9 (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), Perceived Deficits Questionnaire-Depression (PDQ-D), and Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) with 3 subdomains were used. The obtained scores were analyzed with partial correlation and multiple linear regression analysis models., Results: Our results showed that females had significantly higher PDQ-D-20 total score than males. However, the differences in TAS-20 and subdomain score according to sex were not significant. Notably, TAS-20 and DDF (difficulty describing feelings) subdomain contributed to cognitive impairment in males, whereas both PHQ-9 total score and TAS-20 or DDF subdomain contributed to cognitive impairment in females., Conclusion: These findings revealed significant sex differences in cognitive impairment and clinical correlates in SD, which should be further followed-up in the future., (© 2023. Background: Necroptosis and pyroptosis are newly identified forms of programmed cell death, which play a vital role in development of many gastrointestinal disorders. Although plant polyphenols have been reported to protect intestinal health, it is still unclear whether there is a beneficial role of plant polyphenols in modulating necroptosis and pyroptosis in intestinal porcine epithelial cell line (IPEC-1) infected with enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) K88. This research was conducted to explore whether plant polyphenols including protocatechuic acid (PCA) and quercetin (Que), attenuated inflammation and injury of IPEC-1 caused by ETEC K88 through regulating necroptosis and pyroptosis signaling pathways., Methods: IPEC-1 cells were treated with PCA (40 μmol/L) or Que (10 μmol/L) in the presence or absence of ETEC K88., Results: PCA and Que decreased ETEC K88 adhesion and endotoxin level (P < 0.05) in cell supernatant. PCA and Que increased cell number (P < 0.001) and decreased lactate dehydrogenases (LDH) activity (P < 0.05) in cell supernatant after ETEC infection. PCA and Que improved transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) (P < 0.001) and reduced fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled dextran (FD4) flux (P < 0.001), and enhanced membrane protein abundance of occludin, claudin-1 and ZO-1 (P < 0.05), and rescued distribution of these tight junction proteins (P < 0.05) after ETEC infection. PCA and Que also declined cell necrosis ratio (P < 0.05). PCA and Que reduced mRNA abundance and concentration of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8 (P < 0.001), and down-regulated gene expression of toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4) and its downstream signals (P < 0.001) after ETEC infection. PCA and Que down-regulated protein abundance of total receptor interacting protein kinase 1 (t-RIP1), phosphorylated-RIP1 (p-RIP1), p-RIP1/t-RIP1, t-RIP3, p-RIP3, mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein (MLKL), p-MLKL, dynamin- related protein 1 (DRP1), phosphoglycerate mutase 5 (PGAM5) and high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) (P < 0.05) after ETEC infection. Moreover, PCA and Que reduced protein abundance of nod-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3), nod-like receptors family CARD domain-containing protein 4 (NLRC4), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), gasdermin D (GSDMD) and caspase-1 (P < 0.05) after ETEC infection., Conclusions: In general, our data suggest that PCA and Que are capable of attenuating ETEC-caused intestinal inflammation and damage via inhibiting necroptosis and pyroptosis signaling pathways., (© 2023. Objectives: To characterize the clinical features and outcomes of childhood-onset primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS)., Methods: Patients less than 18 years old who were diagnosed with pSS by paediatric rheumatologists were included, and all patients were applied the 2002 American-European Consensus Group (ACEG) criteria, the 2016 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) criteria for pSS, or the 1999 proposed juvenile pSS criteria. The electronic medical records of patients with pSS from 2013 to 2020 were collected and analysed., Results: Thirty-nine patients were included. Of them, 27 (69.2%), 38 (97.4%) and 35 (89.7%) patients fulfilled the AECG criteria, ACR/EULAR criteria and proposed juvenile pSS criteria, respectively. The female:male ratio was 3.9:1. The median ages at first signs or symptoms and at diagnosis were 9.2 (4.7, 14.5) years and 10.9 (6.3, 15.0) years, respectively. The main clinical manifestations were rash or purpura (20, 51.3%), followed by fever (12, 30.8%), glandular enlargement/recurrent parotitis (10, 25.6%), and dry mouth and/or dry eyes (9, 23.1%). Twenty-eight (56.4%) patients had systemic damage, the most common of which was haematological involvement (14, 35.9%), followed by hepatic (13, 33.3%) and renal involvement (8, 20.5%). Thirty-eight (97.4%) patients underwent labial minor salivary gland biopsy, and all exhibited focal lymphocytic sialadenitis. All patients had a global ESSDAI score ≥ 1 at diagnosis, and the median total score at diagnosis was 8 (2, 31). Thirty-six (92.3%) patients were followed up for a median time of 23.6 (7.9, 79.5) months, and three patients developed systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) at follow-up times of 13.3, 38.8 and 63.8 months., Conclusions: The presentation of childhood-onset pSS is atypical, and extraglandular manifestations and systemic involvement are more common than in adult-onset pSS. Background: Aortic dissection (AD) is a rare disease with high mortality for which no effective diagnostic biomarkers are available. Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection is an important cause of the occurrence and progression of many diseases, but the relationship between HCMV infection and AD is not clear., Methods: In this study, we first used quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) to determine the expression profile of 25 HCMV-encoded microRNAs (HCMV miRNAs) in the plasma within a training set consisting of 20 AD patients and 20 healthy controls. Then, abnormal expressed HCMV miRNAs were verified in a validation set of 12 AD patients and 12 healthy controls. In addition, HCMV infection was detected in the third cohort consisting of 20 AD patients and 20 healthy controls., Results: The 95% quantile of the expression levels of HCMV miRNAs in the training set was used as the threshold for distinction between AD patients and healthy controls. The proportion of individuals with high level of five types of HCMV miRNAs was significantly different between AD patients and healthy controls. In the validation set, only the proportion of individuals with high levels of hcmv-miR-UL112-5p and hcmv-miR-UL22A-5p, two of the five HCMV miRNAs obtained in the preliminary screening, showed significant difference between AD patients and healthy controls. In the third cohort, there was no significant difference in HCMV DNA levels and anti-HCMV IgG concentrations between AD patients and healthy controls., Conclusions: The HCMV miRNAs levels in plasma differed in AD patients and healthy controls. Background: In children, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is the main cause of steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS). To identify specific candidates and the mechanism of steroid resistance, we examined the formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) renal tissue protein profiles via liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)., Methods: Renal biopsies from seven steroid-sensitive (SS) and eleven steroid-resistant (SR) children FSGS patients were obtained. We examined the formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) renal tissue protein profiles via liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment and Gene Ontology (GO) analysis, as well as the construction of protein-protein interaction (PPI) network were performed. Two proteins were further valiadated by immunohistochemistry staining in FSGS patients and mice models., Results: In total, we quantified more than 4000 proteins, of which 325 were found to be differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) between the SS and SR group (foldchange ≥2, P<0.05). The results of GO revealed that the most significant up-regulated proteins were primarily related to protein transportation, regulation of the complement activation process and cytolysis. Moreover, clustering analysis showed differences in the pathways (lysosome, terminal pathway of complement) between the two groups. Among these potential candidates, validation analyses for LAMP1 and ACSL4 were conducted. LAMP1 was observed to have a higher expression in glomerulus, while ACSL4 was expressed more in tubular epithelial cells., Conclusions: In this study, the potential mechanism and candidates related to steroid resistance in children FSGS patients were identified. Background: Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of cancer, alteration of nucleotide metabolism of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is not well-understood. MYBL2 regulates cell cycle progression and hepatocarcinogenesis, its role in metabolic regulation remains elusive., Patients and Methods: Copy number, mRNA and protein level of MYBL2 and IMPDH1 were analyzed in HCC, and correlated with patient survival. Chromatin Immunoprecipitation sequencing (Chip-seq) and Chromatin Immunoprecipitation quantitative polymerase chain reaction (ChIP-qPCR) were used to explore the relationship between MYBL2 and IMPDH1. Metabolomics were used to analyze how MYBL2 affected purine metabolism. The regulating effect of MYBL2 in HCC was further validated in vivo using xenograft models., Results: The Results showed that copy-number alterations of MYBL2 occur in about 10% of human HCC. Expression of MYBL2, IMPDH1, or combination of both were significantly upregulated and associated with poor prognosis in HCC. Correlation, ChIP-seq and ChIP-qPCR analysis revealed that MYBL2 activates transcription of IMPDH1, while knock-out of MYBL2 retarded IMPDH1 expression and inhibited proliferation of HCC cells. Metabolomic analysis post knocking-out of MYBL2 demonstrated that it was essential in de novo purine synthesis, especially guanine nucleotides. In vivo analysis using xenograft tumors also revealed MYBL2 regulated purine synthesis by regulating IMPDH1, and thus, influencing tumor progression., Conclusion: MYBL2 is a key regulator of purine synthesis and promotes HCC progression by transcriptionally activating IMPDH1, it could be a potential candidate for targeted therapy for HCC., (© 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its variants, has posed unprecedented challenges worldwide. Existing vaccines have limited effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 variants. Therefore, novel vaccines to match mutated viral lineages by providing long-term protective immunity are urgently needed. We designed a recombinant adeno-associated virus 5 (rAAV5)-based vaccine (rAAV-COVID-19) by using the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD-plus) sequence with both single-stranded (ssAAV5) and self-complementary (scAAV5) delivery vectors and found that it provides excellent protection from SARS-CoV-2 infection. A single-dose vaccination in mice induced a robust immune response; induced neutralizing antibody (NA) titers were maintained at a peak level of over 1:1024 more than a year post-injection and were accompanied by functional T-cell responses. Importantly, both ssAAV- and scAAV-based RBD-plus vaccines produced high levels of serum NAs against the circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants, including Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta. A SARS-CoV-2 virus challenge showed that the ssAAV5-RBD-plus vaccine protected both young and old mice from SARS-CoV-2 infection in the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Whole genome sequencing demonstrated that AAV vector DNA sequences were not found in the genomes of vaccinated mice one year after vaccination, demonstrating vaccine safety. These results suggest that the rAAV5-based vaccine is safe and effective against SARS-CoV-2 and several variants as it provides long-term protective immunity. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors with a poor response to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The advent of molecular targeted drugs has initiated great breakthroughs in the treatment of RCC. However, drug resistance to targeted drugs has become an urgent problem. Various studies across the decades have confirmed the involvement of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in multiple pathophysiological processes and its abnormal expression in many malignant tumors. This review speculated that circRNAs can provide a new solution to drug resistance in RCC and perhaps be used as essential markers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of RCC. Through the analysis and discussion of relevant recent research, this review explored the relationship of circRNAs to and their regulatory mechanisms in drug resistance in RCC.
