The article presents information on a cross-sectional survey aimed at assessing the feasibility of measuring physical fitness of children and to relate it to soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections. The study was conducted among 69 school children of the Bulang ethnic group in Republic of China. The study found that infection prevalence of Trichuris trichiura, Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm were respectively 81%, 44% and 6%. The study concluded that implementation of physical fitness tests in rural, resource-constraint settings is feasible.
