The article presents an affirmative response on whether Alashiya should be equated with Cyprus, citing details of the journey of the Egyptian envoy Amanmasha with the king of Byblos Rib-Addi from Byblos to Egypt as told in an Amarna letter. Details of how Rib-Addi directed Amanmasha's ship to go through a deep-water passage to Cyprus to avoid patrolling enemies, which provides evidence that Alashiya equates in some way with Cyprus. more...
