The article deals with the relationship between Azerbaijan and Russia in the energy sector. Implemented projects are analyzed on the basis of the political and legal framework. At the same time, problems are assessed and forecasts are given for the development of bilateral relations. It is noted that the export of oil and gas raw materials and products of its processing have a positive effect on filling the budget of countries and on the implementation of socio-economic tasks. Purpose: To explore the main directions of bilateral Azerbaijani-Russian relations in the energy sector. Methodology: The methods of modern scientific analysis (the method of objectivity and systemicity), the comparative method, and the historical method were used in the article. Scientific novelty: For the first time, Azerbaijani-Russian relations in the energy sector from the period of independence to the present period were studied in a comprehensive manner.
