The work represents an attempt to take a step in the direction of building a connection between scientific developments in the field of instrumental phonetics and the teaching of Bulgarian as a foreign language. Technological studies point to problem areas of the pronunciation of the Bulgarian language by speakers of closely related languages such as Ukrainian. As an object of attention and corrective work, we noted some segmental deviations in the articulation of (е, ə, о, tʃ, t), slow pace of speech and articulation, fluency disorders, positional accent deviations and those in accent realization (indiscernible difference in the acoustic ques of stressed and unstressed units) and inconsistent reduction. We believe that audio and visual demonstrations have a place in teaching pronunciation in Bulgarian as a foreign language. A „translation“ of the specialized terminology of linguistics and illustrative materials are needed, which serve not only for illustration, but also as material for one‘s own production in comparison with that of native speakers. The article analyzes the role of the language situation in the classroom for learning the Bulgarian language. The characteristics of a bilingual and multilingual classroom are indicated, which have a key role in planning and organizing the language learning. Various normative documents are presented, which provide support for a smooth transition to Bulgarian language learning at the primary stage for students with a different native/family language, and possibilities for implementing different models for language learning in a bilingual and multilingual classroom are discussed. The purpose of the text is to point out the different attitudes towards mastering the first language in the Bulgarian diaspora in Czechia and the degree of awareness of the need for teaching of Bulgarian in the society where the main language is different from Bulgarian. The results of a longitudinal study, including dozens of respondents from different social strata of the diaspora, are presented and their language attitudes are analyzed. In Russian, unlike in Bulgarian, two forms of adjectives have been preserved – full and short, where the short form in the modern language can be used only in the predicative position. The proposed article on the basis of a parallel Russian-Bulgarian corpus examines the question by what means of expression in the Bulgarian language the opposition of the two forms of Russian adjectives is manifested, how the series of their semantic, stylistic and syntactic differences are translated, including their ability to express a temporary and / or permanent feature. It is shown that the Bulgarian language reacts differently in cases when the Russian full and short forms differ semantically, as well as when the difference between the Russian forms is stylistic or pragmatic. There are also discrepancies in the semantics of Russian and Bulgarian predicative adjectives with identical roots in view of their ability to indicate the stability of the feature (i.e. to mean a property, characteristic) or its actuality (temporary state). The article offers an approach for tracking the knowledge and skills for the use of verbs that are deemed part of the basic vocabulary of students in the initial stage of education through language tasks. There are 5 types of tasks that will be conducted in the form of an online game in 4 variants. They are aimed at researching basic competencies in using selected verb meanings and knowledge of their compatibility with groups of arguments, in order to make generalizations about the semantic structure of verbs from the basic vocabulary set in children of a certain age group. The data that will be collected as a result of the tasks’ completion will be used in further observations and experiments for the purposes of theoretical semantic description and typology of verb predicates belonging to the basic conceptual apparatus in Bulgarian. The aim of the article is to present the history of a French loanword, introduced in Bulgarian language by the poet-publicist Hristo Botev. The research is within the realm of diachronic empruntology, viewed as a science for tracking interlanguage lexical transfers in their chronological order. The object of research is the lexeme "francophile", in the process of work the method of empruntological diachronic analysis being applied, which includes establishing the first text fixation of the french loan in standard Bulgarian language. The fate of the word in French and in Bulgarian languages is presented. Parallelly with this different derivative forms, which are compared to their Bulgarian counterparts. The results obtained allow for reconstruction of Bulgarian language fate of the French lexical creation "francophile" in a formal and semantic perspective, allowing for comparison of connotative uses of the French loan word francophile. The text argues on some thoughts giving a significance to the concept of functional competence as an element of the communicative competence of the personality. Proposed is author’s theoretical model, that places in a hierarchical sequence the skills and the competences that allow students to apply knowledge and experience acquired in school in a variety of situations that deal with specific reallife problems. The aim is this model to become a base for forming of methodological activities for improving the functional competencies of students in Bulgarian language classes. Proposed is a test in which are formulated reading tasks for a specific source of information. The object of research is the colloquial vocabulary in Bulgarian and Polish from the thematic area 'parts of the human body'. The aim is to consider in a comparative plan the main nomination techniques for the formation of language units in both languages. The language material consists of colloquial tokens, extracted from Bulgarian and Polish lexicographical sources, catalogs and from the real language practice. It turns out that the main means of nomination in both languages is the secondary nomination. There are also quite a few borrowings from foreign languages. Upbringing and education of children is essential to the development of society. The law on pre-school and school education provides for mandatory training of children before entering first grade. In this sense, Bulgarian language training starts in the kindergarten. In the preparatory group training provides the foundation for enabling primary school students to have sufficient knowledge to carry out complete educational process. The relationship between kindergarten and primary school is extremely important. The children who attended kindergarten and are trained have established skills in oral speech. This article examines some tendencies in foreign language teaching and learning. Emphasis is placed on understanding oral and written text (listening and reading as basic receptive speech activities). Reading and related cognitive processes are seen as an element of key competency for language learning. Extracting specific and abstract information from text is a process by which strategies can be implemented to reach a full, accurate and adequate understanding of the text. An experiment is described related to the perception of Slavic texts by Bulgarian students in the Bulgarian secondary school, in the context of the theory of interlingual understanding. The text speaks of the relevance and prospects of practical language learning, especially in the initial stage of the primary education. Children's response to the world reflects exactly practical activity, manifested in specific tangible events, laws, vivid imagery, intense emotions, more and more complete logical reasoning. The receptive culture of pupils is being refined when actively seeking multidirectional information, not always achieved through verbal actions, but also with game - cognitive, creative, attractive, artistic, heuristic „experiments”. Empathic involvement of the mediator teacher is expected, who directs, demonstrates, visualizes, expresses the key content cores in the lesson verbally. Cognitive learning interests are mainly developed through linguopragmatics in basic linguistic and communication units. The early mastery of linguistic knowledge and competence sets linguistic facts, phenomena, concepts, categories, terms in specific situations of „live” speech communication. The article presents the current development of the Bulgarian language and reveils some negative phenomena in its use. There is a comprehensive program to curb these phenomena, which includes the activity of linguists, teachers, the public and media. The role of institutions such as the Institute for Bulgarian Language and the Ministry of Education and Science in the process of enhancing the linguistic culture and language competence of all Bulgarians is emphasized. The antonyms with the adjectives, nouns and verbs for movement in Bulgarian language are reviewed. They are analyzed from the point of view of their structure - same root (with one or two prefixes expressing opposite) and different roots. This paper gives an insight into the development of the Bulgarian Language Sunday Schools in the UK as promoters of the mother tongue and culture. The focus is on their features and benefits. In particular, the most important issues related to these Bulgarian organisations (such as the increase of the number of the schools and the reason behind this, their connections with mainstream schools and some of their problems) are discussed. The paper proposes approaches for the application of electronic language resources and technologies in Bulgarian language teaching. The active integration of language technologies in the teaching process leads to an increased interest in the subject, the formation of skills for individual work, and the development of research skills. Providing an opportunity for all migrant children, regardless of their legal status, to have access to quality education on an equal basis with citizens from the majority, is a key vector in European integration policies. Before the entry of Bulgarian to the European Union only the children of refugees (including foreigners with special status) had access to free education in our country. In the course of accession to the European Union, Bulgaria made legislative changes to ensure free and compulsory education for children of migrants from EU countries, Switzerland and the European economic area. The institutional framework for inclusive education by studying Bulgarian language by migrant pupils is created by the ordinance of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth regarding the terms and conditions for providing such education. The approved curriculum in Bulgarian language reveals the idea about the model of teaching Bulgarian as a second language in a natural speech environment. Substantiation and development of the model is the task of the day of contemporary methodological theory. In this connection we must assess the technical solutions proposed by the teaching aids included in the new educational program (curriculum). This article is informative and strategically related to the practical education in Bulgarian Language and Literature. It also sets the direction and parameters to an educational strategy, which so far has not been a priority in our educational system due to traditions and a number of impossibilities of different nature. The school student is considered to be an equal „partner" in a process in which teachers tend to experiment on themselves and their own curiosity applying facts from different fields to analysis and synthesis. The main idea is to establish a dialogue in education and shatter myths and clich?s as well as dogmas as the only possible directives. Knowledge is more than an idea -- it is the basis of practical reasoning and preparation of a better and more meaningful life. The virtual world is presented as an opportunity for reading and writing. A number of methods are examined there as examples. It is of paramount importance that we read on a daily basis. A claim is also made that this is an activity essential for things happening and achieving goals -- that is, it is vital that young people should be ambitious and we hold this as one of the criteria so that they would be attracted to the book, electronic or not. We are also offering the reasoning behind a forthcoming project: A Writing Laboratory -- "Pavel Vezhinov" which is to take place at a school for intensive studying of foreign languages. Doing a research on the works of Pavel Vezhinov against the City Theories is part of what has been envisaged for this project. Creative writing is the type of American outlool to the world in which everyone can give it a try without being accused of not playing by the rules. It is precisely for this reason that literacy and the ability of a school student to write a paragraph is the essence which will constitute our „laboratory" activities.
