In 2020, a retrospective study was conducted, examining 27 years of family sessions offered at the BEBA Family Clinic in California. Raymond Castellino, DC, and Tara Blasco, PhD, co-directors of the Building and Enhancing Bonding and Attachment (BEBA) program, assembled a team of researchers for the study. Fifty-four previous BEBA Clinic participants completed a quantitative survey and 12 participated in qualitative interviews. The data gathered are shared in this report, providing the BEBA organization with feedback corroborating the program's evolving principles and practices. An interview with psychotherapist Marti Glenn is presented. She talks about teaching perinatal psychology at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (SBGI). She discusses the work of the Association For Prenatal And Perinatal Psychology And Health (APPPAH) in prenatal and perinatal psychology. She mentions that she offers retreats to heal early trauma in adults in the perinatal period. She highlights the importance of peripheral perinatal nutrition (PPN).

An interview with Michel Odent, a surgeon, pioneer and visionary in the birthing profession, is presented. Topics covered include his presentation during the first conference of the Association for Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPAH) in Toronto, Ontario in 1983, the difference between birthing research in 1983 and 2014, and some physiological effects of melatonin during the birthing process. He also offers his insights about husband coached childbirth.

When asked about his father, she says he was a great reader and learner and willing to share his ideas. He also shares his thoughts on his father's work as a minister and his father's creation of a web site for APPPAH.

Prenatal and perinatal psychology as a field of practice an emerging discipline in the healing arts. The development of a code of ethics is a marker of this maturity. This paper was developed for the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health as part of its certification program for educators. It identifies specific concerns for these educators and for the field of practice as a whole, specifically the acknowledgement that education about early imprints can be an intervention in itself, and that there is a continuum with the prenatal and perinatal psychology and health profession from educator to practitioner. Educators need to be clear that they are disseminating information only and be able to recognize where information crosses over into practice and, thus, when to refer learners. A unique set of Principles developed by Ray Castellino is offered as a structure for ethical conduct, along with codes of ethics from childbirth educators, and education in general.
