The article discusses biologically-inspired robotics. It states that the goal of biological inspiration when applied to the development of robots is to understand the principles of human and animal behavior and transfer this information to robots. Information is also provided on the classification of robots, which the authors states depends on the degree to which robots resemble biological systems and their behavioral diversity, or variety of actions that can be executed. Particular attention is given to robots with high levels of biological inspiration, featuring characteristics such as soft actuators, sensors, and abilities to interact with humans.
