Institutional repositories at the production stage face the challenge of sheltering, preserving, and giving access to scientific data sets. Research data repositories are being implemented worldwide as a new option for free access. The benefits are still in the pipeline, and librarians, researchers, funding and teaching institutions are beginning to see its benefits. Among these benefits is the visibility of the projects and the fact that the research works acquire a new possibility of management if articulated to information systems. Also, transparency in national investments for science allows new forms of governance, related to the registration of management and dissemination processes. It is hoped that the indicators resulting from these activities will allow a more equitable management, taking into account the country's dimensions, but also the strategic conditions in which research becomes fundamental to the preservation of its natural resources and to the elaboration of public policies. The theme of Digital Humanities has been recurrently sought in Brazil. Although the rhetoric of interdisciplinarity is present in most research initiatives, practice shows us that interdisciplinarity ceases its real scope when access to information and reuse of data it comes even when sometimes undermined by interdisciplinary tools and methods. After the digital turn, the academic scene needed to meet again itself regarding its strategies of preservation and use of scientific information for the continuity of knowledge production and promotion to its access. In this scope, we created the Digital Humanities Network Laboratory (Larhud) and this fact also invited us to think about a repository capable of storing and preserving raw data from humanities research in order to promote its access by the scientific community enabling, among other things, its monitoring, information exchange and, consequently, the generation of innovation and new content. In this article we deal with the production process of both: laboratory and repository as intrinsic parts for the activities in progress, in addition to eliciting reflections of epistemological and methodological order. This paper presents a qualitative and quantitative approach aiming to analyse how the data repositories around the world are being developed. To do this, the directory re3data.org was assessed so the repository could be categorized. Some categories and characteristics were defined and the collected data was the source to catalogue the repositories' profile. As result, the research identified that majority of repositories are linked to Life Science and is hosted by North American and European countries. The most part of repositories is theme based, focused in text and image storage, without much certification and metadata standardization concerns and based in three main technologies. As a final result, the analyses showed that most repositories has Copy Rights, but are also described as open access. As a conclusion, this paper presents that some advances are needed to achieve the research data availability, an essential element to the Open Science. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

All scientific research is based in the survey, preparation and analysis of data that generate scientific content. In order to give visibility to this issue, the availability of research data has increasingly gain notoriety within the scientific community. And as agents of scientific communication, some journals already have supported and encouraged the sharing of data as a requirement for publication. In this scenario, this study investigated the proportion and how the Brazil and Portugal 's open access journals on areas of Science and Medicine indexed in DOAJ have addressed the issue of deposit and publication of data. As a result, it could be noticed that, even if still discreet, the open access journals of Brazil and Portugal have mobilized themselves so that the data is available completely and accessible to the community .
