Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$ has been measured in the center of mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on a full dataset collected below 1 GeV during three data taking seasons, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 62 pb$^{-1}$. In the dominant $ρ$-resonance region, a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% has been reached. At energies around $ϕ$-resonance the $π^+π^-$ production cross section was measured for the first time with high energy resolution. The forward-backward charge asymmetry in the $π^+π^-$ production has also been measured. It shows the strong deviation from the theoretical prediction based on conventional sQED framework and is in good agreement with GVDM and dispersive-based predictions. The impact of presented results on the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of muon is discussed., 48 pages, 36 figures

Abstract

The paper describes a method of the charged particle identification, developed for the \mbox{CMD-3} detector, installed at the VEPP-2000 $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The method is based on the application of the boosted decision trees classifiers, trained for the optimal separation of electrons, muons, pions and kaons in the momentum range from 100 to $1200~{\rm MeV}/c$. The input variables for the classifiers are linear combinations of the energy depositions of charged particles in 12 layers of the liquid xenon calorimeter of the \mbox{CMD-3}. The event samples for training of the classifiers are taken from the simulation. Various issues of the detector response tuning in simulation and calibration of the calorimeter strip channels are considered. Application of the method is illustrated by the examples of separation of the $e^+e^-(\gamma)$ and $\pi^+\pi^-(\gamma)$ final states and of selection of the $K^+K^-$ final state at high energies.

Abstract

The process $e^+e^-{\to}K^+K^-��$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.59 to 2.007\,GeV using the data sample of 59.5 pb$^{-1}$, collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in 2011, 2012 and 2017. The $K^+K^-��$ final state is found to be dominated by the contribution of the $��(1020)��$ intermediate state. The cross section of the process $e^+e^-{\to}��(1020)��$ has been measured with a systematic uncertainty of 5.1$\%$ on the base of 3009 $\pm$ 67 selected events. The obtained cross section has been used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon: $a_��^{����}(E

Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-}$ is measured using the data collected with the CMD-$3$ detector at the VEPP-$2000$ collider in the center-of-mass energy range from $1.1$ to $2.0$ GeV. The decay mode $��\rightarrow����$ is used for $��$ meson reconstruction in the data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $78.3$ pb$^{-1}$. The energy dependence of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-}$ cross section is fitted within the framework of vector meson dominance in order to extract the $��(��(1450)\rightarrow{^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(��(1450)\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-})$ and the $��(��(1700)\rightarrow{e^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(��(1700)\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-})$ products. Based on conservation of vector current, the analysed data are used to test the relationship between the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-}$ cross section and the spectral function in $��^-\rightarrow����^-��^0��_��$ decay. The $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow����^{+}��^{-}$ cross section measured with the CMD-$3$ detector is in good agreement with the previous measurements.

Abstract

A cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$ has been measured using 6798$\pm$93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 920--1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits an interference pattern of the $��(1020)\to\pipi\pipi$ decay with a non-resonant process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): $\BR(��\to\pipi\pipi) = (6.5\pm2.7\pm1.6)\times 10^{-6}$., 16 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-��^+��^-$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-��^+��^-$ cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of $K^+K^-��^+��^-$ production dynamics has been performed.

Abstract

A search for the process $\epem\to ��^\prime(958)$ in the $\pipi��\to\pipi����$ final state has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Abstract

The cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to 3(��^+��^-)$ has been measured using 22 pb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in the c.m. energy range 1.5 -- 2.0 GeV. The measured cross section exhibits a sharp drop near the $p\bar p$ threshold. A first study of dynamics of six-pion production has been performed.

Abstract

The $��$(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance ($��\to K^+ K^-,K^0_LK^0_S,��^+��^-��^0,����$) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M $e^+e^-$ collider. The following value has been obtained: $��(��\to e^+e^-) = 1.235\pm 0.006\pm 0.022$ keV. The $��(1020)$ meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: $B(��\to K^+K^-) = 0.493\pm 0.003\pm 0.007$, $B(��\to K_LK_S) = 0.336\pm 0.002\pm 0.006$, $B(��\to��^+��^-��^0) = 0.155\pm 0.002\pm 0.005$, $B(��\to����) = 0.0138\pm 0.0002\pm 0.0002$., 14 pages, 3 figures

Abstract

The process e+ e- -> phi -> K+ K- has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross section is estimated to be 2.2%. The phi(1020) meson parameters in the phi -> K+K- decay channel have been measured: sigma_0(phi-> K+K-) = 2016 +- 8 +- 44 nb, m(phi) = 1019.441 +- 0.008 +- 0.080 MeV/c2, Gamma(phi) = 4.24 +- 0.02 +- 0.03 MeV, B(e+e-)B(K+K-) = (14.27 +- 0.05 +- 0.31)*10(-5)., 12 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables, uses elsart.cls (second version - some figures are corrected)

Abstract

The cross section of the process e+e- -> pi+pi- has been measured at the CMD-2 detector in the 370-520 MeV center-of-mass (c.m.) energy range. A systematic uncertainty of the measurement is 0.7 %. Using all CMD-2 data on the pion form factor, the pion electromagnetic radius was calculated. The cross section of muon pair production was also determined., 11 pages, 4 figures

Abstract

In frames of agreement to consider the annihilation of electron-positron pair to hadrons cross section to be including the virtual photon polarization effects a new formulation of hadron contribution to muon anomalous magnetic moment is suggested. It consists in using the experimentally observed cross section converted with the known kernels. The lowest order kernel remains to be the same but some modification of radiative corrected kernel is needed. The explicit form of this new kernel is given. We estimate the accuracy of new formulation on the level ��a^{hadr}_��/a^{hadr}_��\sim 10^{-5}., 5 pages, 2 pics
