The Halal Industry is still in the stage of development and empowerment practices. The efforts to conduct the way forward in compliance with Islamic perspective (Shariah Laws) and desirable and necessary along the world. One of the problems facing the global halal industry is the lack of recognition halal certified products are viewed by Muslims as a mark of quality by the different halal certification bodies. With the diverse increasing demand towards halal food throughout the world but the integration of halal practices into supply chain processes in the under lacking coverage. The objective of this paper is to give a basic information in the definition of halal from the Shariah perspective and the researcher’s methodology used in their past research. The references from this desktop working research are allocate from the past research on halal supply chain management. By having the clear definition and methodology, the paper will conclude the easy way for others researcher to get clear understanding about the definition of halal and the other method using in the future studies.

Green Factory is a new and proactive approach to reduce environment burden. Physical development grew rapidly has effected major implications to environment. Environmental issues such as carbon dioxide, loss of biodiversity, degradation of natural resources, global warming, ozone layer depletion and deforestation have effected on the environment stability. Based on statistics, showing amount of carbon dioxide gas production in Malaysia was 29 million tonnes which Malaysia is ranked 26th (0.66%) of the 215 countries in the world. 110 world leaders including Malaysia has agreed to work for reducing carbon dioxide gas in the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit 2009. Accordingly, a study was conducted on companies that adopted Green Factory practices to assess its key performance criteria and practices for minimizing environmental problems. The samples were 300 companies in Malaysia. Finally, 20% response rate has been received, with 60 respondents. Five main criteria for Green Factory have been identified; (1) Solar power generation systems, (2) Fuel cells system, (3) Cogeneration systems, (4) Air conditioning units and (5) Recycling system. Based on descriptive result, recycling shows the highest level of practices, followed by solar power cogenerations system, air conditioning units and fuel cells system. This study result shows Green Factory has significant relationship with environment performance (r = 0.404, P < 0.05) and business performance (r = 0.38, P < 0.05). Overall, the survey result shows green factory practices is well implemented in Malaysia manufacturing companies. In conclusion, Green Factory can be used as effective tool for improving not only for environment performance but also for business performance.

Recent trends and heavy uses of IT products and electronic gadgets have led to a proliferation of green computing studies because these wastes are not biodegradable. A significant amount of previous studies has been performed on green computing at the organizational level with most studies tend to focus on developed countries. The present study examined numerically the most influential factor towards the employees’ intention to adopt green computing and measure the intention level of employees in green computing adoption. The current study explored five adoption factors with five hypotheses have been established. These hypotheses were theorized from Theory of Planned Behaviour with emphasis on environmental concern. Previous studies from Malaysia context have primarily concentrated on green computing in education sector compared to manufacturing sector. Hence the study was conducted at electrical and electronic industries located at southern Malaysia. Questionnaires were purposely distributed to 250 respondents, however only 110 responses were valid that yielded response rate of 56%. Respondents are among the employees in IT and administration department that equipped with ICT application. The finding verifies the most influential factor affecting green computing adoption is environmental concern with 43.8%. All factors were proved to have positive correlation to the green computing intention. This correlation is related to the high intention level of employees in practicing green computing due to headquarters initiatives and the conditions set by the importing countries. Social norms have less impact towards behavioral intention to practice green computing that manifested by the low correlation percentage. The current study contributes to our knowledge on the green computing intention among manufacturing employees in Malaysia besides the implications of the results and future research directions. Increasing interest in the quality of healthcare has led to the focus of the maternal mortality and morbidity rate reduction. Maternal death is the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy. This death could be from any cause related to pregnancy or its management. The primary Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH) has occupied the highest factor leading to maternal mortality. PPH is the bleeding from the genital tract of 500 ml or more in the first 24 hours following the delivery of the baby. It is also significant to highlight that international medical studies have found that 69% of maternal deaths are avoidable. There is growing agreement among public health professionals that midwifery has an important contribution to provide high-quality maternal and new-born infant care. Poor quality leads to acute and chronic clinical and psychological morbidity. Therefore, new knowledge is needed to eliminate avoidable maternal and new-born mortality and morbidity. Consequently the objective of this study is to provide a review of the PPH causes and investigate and identify the role of skilled midwife in the PPH reduction. Specifically to identify extent level of breast feeding, skin to skin contact and active management of the third stage of labour on PPH. The contents of this paper provide ready-to-refer and ready-to-use information for the researchers working in the field PPH and midwife related practices.
