Directed method of case analysis uses real or stimulated case studies to enhance undergraduate students' understanding and learning of human anatomy and physiology. The method has an informative and interesting case scenario, well-defined objectives, and instructive, didactic questions based on easily available information. The method discourages exclusive reliance on lectures and improves academic performance. Its regular use is a valuable adjunct to lectures and textbook reading. Procedural details for introducing the method in an undergraduate course are presented.
