Abstract

We report a measurement of the B0 and B+ meson decays to the Ds-KS0?+ and Ds-K+K+ final states, respectively, using 657�106BB� pairs collected at the ?(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. Using the Ds-???-, K?(892)0K- and KS0K- decay modes for the Ds reconstruction, we measure the following branching fractions: B(B0?Ds-KS0?+)=[0.47�0.06(stat)�0.05(syst)]�10-4 and B(B+?Ds-K+K+)=[0.93�0.22(stat)�0.10(syst)]�10-5. We find the ratio of the branching fraction of B+?Ds-K+K+ to that of the analogous Cabibbo-favored B+?Ds-K+?+ decay to be RB=0.054�0.013(stat)�0.006(syst), which is consistent with the naive factorization model. We also observe a deviation of the DsK invariant-mass distribution from the three-body phase-space model for both studied decays. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report results on studies of the e+e-annihilation into three-body (nS)?+?-(n=1,2,3) final states including measurements of cross sections and the full amplitude analysis. The cross sections measured at s=10.866GeV and corrected for the initial state radiation are ?(e+e-? (1S)?+?-)=(2.27�0.12�0.14)pb, ?(e+e-? (2S)?+?-)=(4.07�0.16�0.45)pb, and ?(e+e-? (3S)?+?-)=(1.46�0.09�0.16)pb. Amplitude analysis of the three-body (nS)?+?-final states strongly favors IG(JP)=1+(1+) quantum-number assignments for the two bottomonium-like Zb� states, recently observed in the (nS)?� and hb(mP)?� (m=1,2) decay channels. The results are obtained with a 121.4fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e-collider. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report a measurement of the branching fraction ratios R(D(?)) of B�?D(?)?-?�? relative to B�?D(?) -?� (where =e or ?) using the full Belle data sample of 772�106BB� pairs collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The measured values are R(D)=0.375�0.064(stat)�0.026(syst) and R(D?)=0.293�0.038(stat)�0.015(syst). The analysis uses hadronic reconstruction of the tag-side B meson and purely leptonic ? decays. The results are consistent with earlier measurements and do not show a significant deviation from the standard model prediction. � 2015 American Physical Society. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report measurement of the cross section of e+e-??+?-?(2S) between 4.0 and 5.5 GeV, based on an analysis of initial state radiation events in a 980fb-1 data sample recorded with the Belle detector. The properties of the Y(4360) and Y(4660) states are determined. Fitting the mass spectrum of ?+?-?(2S) with two coherent Breit-Wigner functions, we find two solutions with identical mass and width but different couplings to electron-positron pairs: MY(4360)=(4347�6�3)MeV/c2, ?Y(4360)=(103�9�5)MeV, MY(4660)=(4652�10�8)MeV/c2, ?Y(4660)=(68�11�1)MeV, and B[Y(4360)??+?-?(2S)]�?Y(4360)e+e-=(10.9�0.6�0.7)eV and B[Y(4660)??+?-?(2S)]�?Y(4660)e+e-=(8.1�1.1�0.5)eV for one solution, or B[Y(4360)??+?-?(2S)]�?Y(4360)e+e-=(9.2�0.6�0.6)eV and B[Y(4660)??+?-?(2S)]�?Y(4660)e+e-=(2.0�0.3�0.2)eV for the other. Here, the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. Evidence for a charged charmoniumlike structure at 4.05GeV/c2 is observed in the ?�?(2S) intermediate state in the Y(4360) decays. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We search for the decay B+?+?? with +=e+ or ?+ using the full Belle data set of 772�106BB� pairs, collected at the ?(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a hadronic decay mode and search for the B+?+?? decay in the remainder of the event. We observe no significant signal within the phase space of E?sig>1GeV and obtain upper limits of B(B+?e+?e?)

Abstract

We report on the first observations of B�0?D1(2430)0?, B�0?D1(2420)0?, and B�0?D2?(2460)0? decays. The B�0?D?+?(1450)- decay is also observed. The branching fraction measurements are based on (771.6�10.6)�106 BB� events collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The fractions of longitudinal polarization of the D?? states as well as partial wave fractions of the D1(2430)0 are obtained. We also set a 90% confidence level upper limit for the product of branching fractions of B(B�0?D?+b1(1235)-)�B(b1(1235)-???-). The measurements show evidence of nontrivial final-state interaction phases for the ?-meson-like amplitudes. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

The process e+e-???cJ (J=1, 2) is studied via initial state radiation using 980fb-1 of data at and around the (nS) (n=1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. No significant signal is observed except from ?(2S) decays. Upper limits on the cross sections between s=3.80 and 5.56 GeV are determined at the 90% credibility level, which range from a few pb to a few tens of pb. We also set upper limits on the decay rate of the vector charmonium [?(4040), ?(4160), and ?(4415)] and charmoniumlike [Y(4260), Y(4360), and Y(4660)] states to ??cJ. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report the measurement of the direct CP asymmetry in the radiative B�?Xs+d? decay using a data sample of (772�11)�106 BB� pairs collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The CP asymmetry is measured as a function of the photon energy threshold. For E???2.1GeV, where E?? is the photon energy in the center-of-mass frame, we obtain ACP(B�?Xs+d?)=(2.2�3.9�0.9)%, consistent with the standard model prediction. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

Using a sample of 771.6�106 ??(4S) decays collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e+e- collider, we observe, for the first time, the transition ?(4S)??hb(1P) with the branching fraction B[?(4S)??hb(1P)]=(2.18�0.11�0.18)�10-3 and we measure the hb(1P) mass Mhb(1P)=(9899.3�0.4�1.0)MeV/c2, corresponding to the hyperfine (HF) splitting ?MHF(1P)=(0.6�0.4�1.0)MeV/c2. Using the transition hb(1P)???b(1S), we measure the ?b(1S) mass M?b(1S)=(9400.7�1.7�1.6)MeV/c2, corresponding to ?MHF(1S)=(59.6�1.7�1.6)MeV/c2, the ?b(1S) width ??b(1S)=(8-5+6�5)MeV/c2 and the branching fraction B[hb(1P)???b(1S)]=(56�8�4)%. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report the first observation of B0?X(3872)(K+?-) and evidence for B+?X(3872)(K0?+). We measure the product of branching fractions for the former to be B(B0?X(3872)(K+?-))�B(X(3872)?J/??+?-)=(7.9�1.3(stat)�0.4(syst))�10-6 and find that B0?X(3872)K?(892)0 does not dominate the B0?X(3872)K+?- decay mode. We also measure B(B+?X(3872)(K0?+))�B(X(3872)?J/??+?-)=(10.6�3.0(stat)�0.9(syst))�10-6. This study is based on the full data sample of 711fb-1 (772�106BB� pairs) collected at the ?(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report a measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B[over ¯]^{0}→D_{CP}^{(*)}h^{0} decays, where the light neutral hadron h^{0} is a π^{0}, η, or ω meson, and the neutral D meson is reconstructed in the CP eigenstates K^{+}K^{-}, K_{S}^{0}π^{0}, or K_{S}^{0}ω. The measurement is performed combining the final data samples collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance by the BABAR and Belle experiments at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. The data samples contain (471±3)×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs recorded by the BABAR detector and (772±11)×10^{6} BB[over ¯] pairs recorded by the Belle detector. We measure the CP asymmetry parameters -η_{f}S=+0.66±0.10(stat)±0.06(syst) and C=-0.02±0.07(stat)±0.03(syst). These results correspond to the first observation of CP violation in B[over ¯]^{0}→D_{CP}^{(*)}h^{0} decays. The hypothesis of no mixing-induced CP violation is excluded in these decays at the level of 5.4 standard deviations.

Abstract

We report improved measurements of the product branching fractions B(B+?D�0Ds0?+(2317))�B(Ds0?+(2317)?Ds+?0)=(8.0-1.2+1.3�1.1�0.4)�10-4 and B(B0?D-Ds0?+(2317))�B(Ds0?+(2317)?Ds+?0)=(10.2-1.2+1.3�1.0�0.4)�10-4, where the first errors are statistical, the second are systematic and the third are from D and Ds+ branching fractions. In addition, we report negative results from a search for hypothesized neutral (z0) and doubly charged (z++) isospin partners of the Ds0?+(2317) and provide upper limits on the product branching fractions B(B0?D0z0)�B(z0?Ds+?-) and B(B+?D0z++)�B(z++?Ds+?+) that are more than an order of magnitude smaller than theoretical expectations for the hypotheses that the Ds0?+(2317) is a member of an isospin triplet. The analysis uses a 711fb-1 data sample containing 772 million BB�-meson pairs collected at the ?(4S) resonance in the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. � 2015 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present a search for the rare leptonic decays B+?e+?e and B+??+??, using the full (4S) data sample of 772�106 BB� pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. One of the B mesons from the (4S)?BB� decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic mode, while the recoiling side is analyzed for the signal decay. We find no evidence of a signal in any of the decay modes. Upper limits of the corresponding branching fractions are determined as B(B+?e+?e)

Abstract

We present measurements of the masses and decay widths of the baryonic states ?c(2455)0/++ and ?c(2520)0/++ using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider operating at the (4S) resonance. We report the mass differences with respect to the ?c+ baryon M(?c(2455)0)-M(?c+)=167.29�0.01�0.02MeV/c2, M(?c(2455)++)-M(?c+)=167.51�0.01�0.02MeV/c2, M(?c(2520)0)-M(?c+)=231.98�0.11�0.04MeV/c2, M(?c(2520)++)-M(?c+)=231.99�0.10�0.02MeV/c2,and the decay widths ?(?c(2455)0)=1.76�0.04-0.21+0.09MeV/c2, ?(?c(2455)++)=1.84�0.04-0.20+0.07MeV/c2,?(? c(2520)0)=15.41�0.41-0.32+0.20MeV/c2,?(?c(2520)++)=14. 77�0.25-0.30+0.18MeV/c2,where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The isospin mass splittings are measured to be M(?c(2455)++)-M(?c(2455)0)=0.22�0.01�0.01MeV/c2 and M(?c(2520)++)-M(?c(2520)0)=0.01�0.15�0.03MeV/c2. Abstract

We report a measurement of D0-D?0 mixing parameters and a search for indirect CP violation through a time-dependent amplitude analysis of D0?KS0?+?- decays. The results are based on 921fb-1 of data accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. Assuming CP conservation, we measure the mixing parameters x=(0.56�0.19- 0.09-0.09+0.03+0.06)% and y=(0.30�0.15-0.05-0.06+0.04+0.03)%, where the errors are statistical, experimental systematic, and systematic due to the amplitude model, respectively. With CP violation allowed, the parameters |q/p|=0.90-0.15-0.04-0.05+0.16+0.05+0.06 and arg(q/p)=(-6�11�3- 4+3)� are found to be consistent with conservation of CP symmetry in mixing and in the interference between mixing and decay, respectively. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present a measurement of the branching fractions and charge-parity-(CP-)violating parameters in B??K decays. The results are obtained from the final data sample containing 772�106 BB? pairs collected at the ?(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain the branching fractions B(B0??K0)=(4.5�0.4(stat)�0.3(syst))�10-6, B(B+??K+)=(6.8�0.4(stat)�0.4(syst))�10-6 which are in agreement with their respective current world averages. For the CP-violating parameters, we obtain A?KS0=-0.36�0.19(stat)�0. 05(syst),S?KS0=+0.91�0.32(stat)�0.05(syst),A?K+=-0. 03�0.04(stat)�0.01(syst), where A and S represent the direct and mixing-induced CP asymmetry, respectively. We find no evidence of CP violation in the decay channel B+??K+; however, we obtain the first evidence of CP violation in the B0??KS0 decay channel at the level of 3.1 standard deviations. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report measurements of branching fractions of ? lepton decays to final states with a KS0 meson using a 669fb-1 data sample accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The inclusive branching fraction is measured to be B(?-?KS0X-??)=(9. 15�0.01�0.15)�10-3, where X- can be anything; the exclusive branching fractions are B(?-??-KS0??)=(4.16�0. 01�0.08)�10-3, B(?-?K-KS0??)=(7.40�0. 07�0.27)�10-4, B(?-??-KS0?0??)=(1. 93�0.02�0.07)�10-3, B(?-?K-KS0?0??)=(7. 48�0.10�0.37)�10-4, B(?-??-KS0KS0??)=(2. 33�0.03�0.09)�10-4, B(?-??-KS0KS0?0??) =(2.00�0.22�0.20)�10-5, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. For each mode, the accuracy is improved over that of pre-B-factory measurements by a factor ranging from five to ten. In ?-??-KS0KS0?0?? decays, clear signals for the intermediate states ?-??-f1(1285)?? and ?-?K*- KS0?0?? are observed. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

Using data samples of 102�106 (1S) and 158�106 (2S) events collected with the Belle detector, a first experimental search has been made for double-charmonium production in the exclusive decays (1S,2S)?J/?(??)+X, where X=?c, ?cJ(J=0,1,2), ?c(2S), X(3940), and X(4160). No significant signal is observed in the spectra of the mass recoiling against the reconstructed J/? or ?? except for the evidence of ?c1 production with a significance of 4.6? for (1S)?J/?+?c1. The measured branching fraction B((1S)?J/?+?c1) is [3.90�1.21(stat)�0.23(syst)]�10-6. The 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fractions of the other modes having a significance of less than 3? are determined. These results are consistent with theoretical calculations using the nonrelativistic QCD factorization approach. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present a study of the branching fraction of the decay B0??0?0 and the fraction of longitudinally polarized ?0 mesons in this decay. The results are obtained from the final data sample containing 772�106 BB? pairs collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We find 166�59 B0??0?0 events (including systematic uncertainties), corresponding to a branching fraction of B(B0??0?0)=(1.02�0.30(stat) �0.15(syst))�10-6 with a significance of 3.4 standard deviations and a longitudinal polarization fraction fL=0.21-0.22+0.18(stat)�0. 15(syst). We use the longitudinal polarization fraction to determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix angle ?2=(84.9�13.5)� through an isospin analysis in the B??? system. We furthermore find 125�41 B0?f0?0 events, corresponding to B(B0?f0?0) �B(f0??+?-)=(0.78�0.22(stat)�0.11(syst)) �10-6, with a significance of 3.1 standard deviations. We find no other significant contribution with the same final state, and set upper limits at 90% confidence level on the (product) branching fractions, B(B0??+?- ?+?-)

Abstract

The cross sections of the processes e+e-?K+K-J/? and KS0KS0J/? are measured via initial state radiation at center-of-mass energies between the threshold and 6.0 GeV using a data sample of 980fb-1 collected with the Belle detector on or near the ?(nS) resonances, where n=1,2,...,5. The cross sections for e+e-?K+K-J/? are at a few pb level and the average cross section for e+e-?KS0KS0J/? is 1.8�0.6(stat)�0.3(syst)pb between 4.4 and 5.2 GeV. All of them are consistent with previously published results with improved precision. A search for resonant structures and associated intermediate states in the cross section of the process e+e-?K+K-J/? is performed. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report a search for charmless hadronic decays of neutral B mesons to ??K?(892)0. The results are based on a 711fb-1 data sample that contains 772�106BB� pairs, collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider. We observe the decay for the first time with a significance of 5.0 standard deviations and obtain its branching fraction B[B0???K?(892)0]=[2.6�0.7(stat)�0.2(syst)]�10-6. We also measure the CP-violating asymmetry as ACP[B0???K?(892)0]=-0.22�0.29(stat)�0.07(syst). � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We search for the charmless B0 decay with final state particles p???-? using the full data sample that contains 772�106BB? pairs collected at the ?(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. This decay is predicted to proceed predominantly via the b?s? radiative penguin process with a high energy photon. No significant signal is found. We set an upper limit of 6.5�10-7 for the branching fraction of B0?p???-? at the 90% confidence level. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

The e+e-??+?-?0?bJ (J=0,1,2) processes are studied using a 118fb-1 data sample acquired with the Belle detector at a center-of-mass energy of 10.867 GeV. Unambiguous ?+?-?0?bJ (J=1,2), ??b1 signals are observed, and indication for ??b2 is seen, both for the first time, and the corresponding cross section measurements are presented. No significant ?+?-?0?b0 or ??b0 signals are observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the cross sections for these two processes are obtained. In the ?+?-?0 invariant mass spectrum, significant non-? signals are also observed. We search for the X(3872)-like state (named Xb) decaying into ??(1S); no significant signal is observed with a mass between 10.55 and 10.65GeV/c2. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present the results of an amplitude analysis of B�0?J/?K-?+ decays. A new charged charmoniumlike state Zc(4200)+ decaying to J/??+ is observed with a significance of 6.2?. The mass and width of the Zc(4200)+ are 4196-29-13+31+17MeV/c2 and 370-70-132+70+70MeV, respectively; the preferred assignment of the quantum numbers is JP=1+. In addition, we find evidence for Zc(4430)+?J/??+. The analysis is based on a 711fb-1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e- collider KEKB. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We search for CP violation in neutral charm meson decays using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 966 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. The asymmetry obtained in the rate of D0 and D?0 decays to the ?0?0 final state, [-0.03�0.64(stat)�0.10(syst)]%, is consistent with no CP violation. This constitutes an order of magnitude improvement over the existing result. We also present an updated measurement of the CP asymmetry in the D0?KS0?0 decay: ACP(D0?KS0?0)=[-0.21�0.16(stat)�0. 07(syst)]%. � 2014 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present the first measurement of the angle ?3 of the unitarity triangle using a model-independent Dalitz plot analysis of B �?DK�, D?KS0?+? - decays. The method uses, as input, measurements of the strong phase of the D?KS0?+?- amplitude from the CLEO Collaboration. The result is based on the full data set of 772�106 BB? pairs collected by the Belle experiment at the ?(4S) resonance. We obtain ?3=(77.3-14.9+15.1�4.1�4.3)� and the suppressed amplitude ratio rB=0.145�0.030�0. 010�0.011. Here the first error is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty, and the third is the error due to the precision of the strong-phase parameters obtained by CLEO. � 2012 American Physical Society.
