The question of when a vertex algebra is a quantization of the arc space of its associated scheme has recently received a lot of attention in both the mathematics and physics literature. This property was first studied by Tomoyuki Arakawa and Anne Moreau (see their paper in the references), and was given the name \lq\lq classical freeness" by Jethro van Ekeren and Reimundo Heluani [Comm. Math. Phys. 386 (2021), no. 1, pp. 495-550] in their work on chiral homology. Later, it was extended to vertex superalgebras by Hao Li [Eur. J. Math. 7 (2021), pp. 1689–1728]. In this note, we prove the classical freeness of the simple affine vertex superalgebra L_n(\mathfrak {o}\mathfrak {s}\mathfrak {p}_{m|2r}) for all positive integers m,n,r satisfying -\frac {m}{2} + r +n+1 > 0. Let S be the polynomial ring on the space of non-square generic matrices or the space of odd-sized skew-symmetric matrices, and let I be the determinantal ideal of maximal minors or Pf the ideal of sub-maximal Pfaffians, respectively. Using desingularizations and representation theory of the general linear group we expand upon work of Raicu–Weyman–Witt [Adv. Math. 250 (2014), pp. 596–610] to determine the S-module structures of Ext^j_S(S/I^t, S) and Ext^j_S(S/Pf^t, S), from which we get the degrees of generators of these Ext modules. As a consequence, via graded local duality we answer a question of Wenliang Zhang [J. Pure Appl. We show that the celebrated operad of pre-Lie algebras is very rigid: it has no "non-obvious" degrees of freedom from either of the three points of view: deformations of maps to and from the "three graces of operad theory", homotopy automorphisms, and operadic twisting. Examining the latter, it is possible to answer two questions of Markl from 2005 [Czechoslovak Math. J. 57 (2007), pp. 253–268; J. In [Math. Ann. 367 (2017), pp. 1517–1586] Bar-Natan and the first author show that solutions to the Kashiwara–Vergne equations are in bijection with certain knot invariants: homomorphic expansions of welded foams. Welded foams are a class of knotted tubes in \mathbb {R}^4, which can be finitely presented algebraically as a circuit algebra , or equivalently, a wheeled prop. In this paper we describe the Kashiwara-Vergne groups \mathsf {KV} and \mathsf {KRV}—the symmetry groups of Kashiwara-Vergne solutions—as automorphisms of the completed circuit algebras of welded foams, and their associated graded circuit algebras of arrow diagrams, respectively. In this short note we correct the statement of the main result of [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 373 (2020), no. 3, 1909-1940]. That paper presented the rational cohomology ring of a toric arrangement by generators and relations. One of the series of relations given in the paper is indexed over the set circuits in the arrangement's arithmetic matroid. That series of relations should however be indexed over all sets X with |X| = rk(X)+1. Below we give the complete and correct presentation of the rational cohomology ring. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Let R be a standard graded Gorenstein algebra over a field presented by quadrics. In [Compositio Math. 129 (2001), no. 1, 95-121], Conca-Rossi-Valla show that such a ring is Koszul if reg R ≤ 2 or if reg R = 3 and c = codim R ≤ 4, and they ask whether this is true for reg R = 3 in general. We determine sufficient conditions on a non-Koszul quadratic Cohen-Macaulay ring R that guarantee the Nagata idealization ~ R = R × ωR(−a−1) is a non-Koszul quadratic Gorenstein ring. We prove there exist rings of regularity 3 satisfying our conditions for all c ≥ 9; this yields a negative answer to the question from the above-mentioned paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Let g be the derived subalgebra of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra of finite-type or affine-type, let μ be a diagram automorphism of g, and let L(g,μ) be the loop algebra of g associated to μ. In this paper, by using the vertex algebra technique, we provide a general construction of current-type presentations for the universal central extension g[μ] of L(g,μ). The construction contains the classical limit of Drinfeld's new realization for (twisted and untwisted) quantum affine algebras [Soviet Math. Dokl. 36 (1988), pp. 212-216] and the Moody-Rao-Yokonuma presentation for toroidal Lie algebras [Geom. Dedicata 35 (1990), pp. 283-307] as special examples. As an application, when g is of simply-laced-type, we prove that the classical limit of the μ-twisted quantum affinization of the quantum Kac-Moody algebra associated to g introduced in [J. Math. One of the main results stated in Theorem 4.4 of our article, which appears in Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 372 (2019), no. 10, 7191-7223, is that the structure algebra K[M(X,r)], over a field K, of a finite bijective left non-degenerate solution (X,r) of the Yang-Baxter equation is a module-finite central extension of a commutative affine subalgebra. This is proven by showing that the structure monoid M(X,r) is central-by-finite. This however is not true, even in case (X,r) is a (left and right) non-degenerate involutive solution. The proof contains a subtle mistake. However, it turns out that the monoid M(X,r) is abelian-by-finite and thus the conclusion that K[M(X,r)] is a module-finite normal extension of a commutative affine subalgebra remains valid. In particular, K[M(X,r)] is Noetherian and satisfies a polynomial identity. The aim of this paper is to give a proof of this result. In doing so, we also strengthen Lemma 5.3 (and its consequences, namely Lemma 5.4 and Proposition 5.5) showing that these results on the prime spectrum of the structure monoid hold even if the assumption that the solution (X,r) is square-free is omitted. Consider ideals I of the form \[ I=(x_1^2,\dots, x_n^2)+\operatorname {RLex}(x_ix_j) \] where \operatorname {RLex}(x_ix_j) is the ideal generated by all the square-free monomials which are greater than or equal to x_ix_j in the reverse lexicographic order. We will determine some interesting properties regarding the shape of the Hilbert series of I. Using a theorem of Lindsey [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 139 (2011), no. 1, 79–92], this allows for a short proof that any algebra defined by I has the strong Lefschetz property when the underlying field is of characteristic zero. Building on recent work by Phuong and Tran [Colloq. Math. 173 (2023), no. 1, 1–8], this result is then extended to fields of sufficiently high positive characteristic. As a consequence, this shows that for any possible number of minimal generators for an artinian quadratic ideal there exists such an ideal minimally generated by that many monomials and defining an algebra with the strong Lefschetz property. Lei and Lin [Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 64 (2011), pp. 1297–1304] have recently given a proof of a global mild solution of the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations in function spaces based on the Wiener algebra. An alternative proof of existence of these solutions was then developed by Bae [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 143 (2015), pp. 2887–2892], and this new proof allowed for an estimate of the radius of analyticity of the solutions at positive times. We adapt the Bae proof to prove existence of the Lei-Lin solution in the spatially periodic setting, finding an improved bound for the radius of analyticity in this case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We show that R is regular if Tor_{i}^{R}(R^{+},k) = 0 for some i\geq 1 assuming further that R is a \mathbb {N}-graded ring of dimension 2 finitely generated over an algebraically closed equicharacteristic zero field k. This answers a question of Bhatt, Iyengar, and Ma [Comm. Algebra 47 (2019), pp. 2367–2383]. We use almost mathematics over R^{+} to deduce properties of the noetherian ring R and rational surface singularities. Moreover we observe that R^{+} in equicharacteristic zero has a rich module-theoretic structure; it is m-adically ideal(wise) separated, (weakly) intersection flat, and Ohm-Rush. As an application we show that the hypothesis can be astonishingly vacuous for i \ll dim(R). We show that a positive answer to an old question of Aberbach and Hochster [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 122 (1997), pp. 171–184] also answers this question and we use our techniques to study a question of André and Fiorot [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa Cl. Sci. By a classical result of Kadec and Pełczyński (1962), every normalized weakly null sequence in Lp, p > 2, contains a subsequence equivalent to the unit vector basis of ℓ² or to the unit vector basis of ℓp. In this paper we investigate the case 1 ≤ p < 2 and show that a necessary and sufficient condition for the first alternative in the Kadec-Pełczyński theorem is that the limit random measure μ of the sequence satisfies ∫∨x²dμ(x) ∈ Lp/2. In this paper, we extend the holomorphic L² torsion introduced by Carey, Farber and Mathai to the case without the determinant class condition. We compute the metric variation formula for the holomorphic L² torsion in our case. We also study the asymptotics of the holomorphic L² torsion associated with a power of a positive line bundle. Let R be a finitely generated \mathbb N-graded algebra domain over a Noetherian ring and let I be a homogeneous ideal of R. Given P\in Ass(R/I) one defines the v-invariant v_P(I) of I at P as the least c\in \mathbb N such that P=I:f for some f\in R_c. A classical result of Brodmann [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 74 (1979), pp. 16–18] asserts that Ass(R/I^n) is constant for large n. So it makes sense to consider a prime ideal P\in Ass(R/I^n) for all the large n and investigate how v_P(I^n) depends on n. We prove that v_P(I^n) is eventually a linear function of n. When R is the polynomial ring over a field this statement has been proved independently also by Ficarra and Sgroi in their recent preprint [ Asymptotic behaviour of the \text {v}-number of homogeneous ideals , https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.14243, 2023]. The development of fast algorithms to perform computations with quasiseparable matrices has received a lot of attention in the last decade. Many different algorithms have been presented by several research groups all over the world. Despite this intense activity, to the best of our knowledge, there is no rounding error analysis published for these fast algorithms. In this paper, we present error analyses for two fast solvers of quasiseparable linear systems when they are applied on order one quasiseparable matrices that include the diagonal in the lower triangular rank structure. Both solvers are based on computing first the QR factorization of the coefficient matrix, and their error analyses require novel structured techniques for proving rigorously that only one of the considered algorithms is backward stable, while the other one is not. Two fundamental consequences of this work are: (i) users should employ with caution fast algorithms for quasiseparable matrices since they may be unstable; and (ii) a lot of work has to be done to identify which fast algorithms for quasiseparable matrices are backward stable among the large family available in the literature. We denote by A the ring of Laurent polynomials in the indeterminate v and by K its field of fractions. In this paper, we are interested in representation theory of the "generic" q-Schur algebra Sq(n, r) over A. We will associate to every symmetrising trace form τ on KSq(n, r) a subalgebra Jτ of KSq(n, r) which is isomorphic to the "asymptotic" algebra J (n, r)A defined by J. Du. In a paper by J. V. Pereira and the author it was proved that any pencil of plane curves of degree $d>1$ with irreducible generic fiber can have at most five completely reducible fibers although no examples with five such fibers had ever been found. Recently Janis Stipins has proved that if a pencil has a base of $d^2$ points, then it cannot have five completely reducible fibers. In this paper we generalize Stipins' result to arbitrary pencils. We also include into consideration more general special fibers that are the unions of lines and non-reduced curves. These fibers are important for characteristic varieties of hyperplane complements. We show that the number of non-isotopic commutative semifields of odd order p^{n} is exponential in n when n = 4t and t is not a power of 2. We introduce a new family of commutative semifields and a method for proving isotopy results on commutative semifields that we use to deduce the aforementioned bound. The previous best bound on the number of non-isotopic commutative semifields of odd order was quadratic in n and given by Zhou and Pott [Adv. Math. 234 (2013), pp. 43–60]. We study the category of representations of \mathfrak {sl}_{m+2n} in positive characteristic, with p-character given by a nilpotent with Jordan type (m+n,n). Recent work of Bezrukavnikov-Mirkovic [Ann. of Math. (2) 178 (2013), pp. 835–919] implies that this representation category is equivalent to \mathcal {D}_{m,n}^0, the heart of the exotic t-structure on the derived category of coherent sheaves on a Springer fibre for that nilpotent. Using work of Cautis and Kamnitzer [Duke Math. J. 142 (2008), pp. 511–588], we construct functors indexed by affine tangles, between these categories \mathcal {D}_{m,n} (i.e. for different values of n). This allows us to describe the irreducible objects in \mathcal {D}_{m,n}^0 and enumerate them by crossingless (m,m+2n) matchings. We compute the \mathrm {Ext} spaces between the irreducible objects, and conjecture that the resulting Ext algebra is an annular variant of Khovanov's arc algebra. In subsequent work, we use these results to give combinatorial dimension formulae for the irreducible representations. These results may be viewed as a positive characteristic analogue of results about two-block parabolic category \mathcal {O} due to Lascoux-Schutzenberger [Astérisque, vol. 87, Soc. Math. The maximal nilpotent and supersoluble automorphism groups of Riemann surfaces were given in earlier papers by this author. Using the theory of Macdonald [ Symmetric functions and Hall polynomials , The Clarendon Press, Oxford University Press, New York, 1995], Gordon [Bull. London Math. Soc. 35 (2003), pp. 321–336] showed that the graded characters of the simple modules for the restricted rational Cherednik algebra by Etingof and Ginzburg [Invent. Math. 147 (2002), pp. 243–348] associated to the symmetric group \mathfrak {S}_n are given by plethystically transformed Macdonald polynomials specialized at q=t. We generalize this to restricted rational Cherednik algebras of wreath product groups C_\ell \wr \mathfrak {S}_n and prove that the corresponding characters are given by a specialization of the wreath Macdonald polynomials defined by Haiman in [ Combinatorics, symmetric functions, and Hilbert schemes , Int. We provide a complete answer to the problem of characterizing left Artinian rings which satisfy the (left or right) MacWilliams extension theorem for linear codes, generalizing results of Iovanov [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 220 (2016), pp. 560–576] and Schneider and Zumbrägel [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 147 (2019), pp. 947–961] and answering the question of Schneider and Zumbragel [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 147 (2019), pp. 947–961]. We show that they are quasi-Frobenius rings, and are precisely the rings which are a product of a finite Frobenius ring and an infinite quasi-Frobenius ring with no non-trivial finite modules (quotients). For this, we give a more general "minimal test for injectivity" for a left Artinian ring A: we show that if every injective morphism \Sigma _k\rightarrow A from the k'th socle of A extends to a morphism A\rightarrow A, then the ring is quasi-Frobenius. We also give a general result under which if injective maps N\rightarrow M from submodules N of a module M extend to endomorphisms of M (pseudo-injectivity), then all such morphisms N\rightarrow M extend (quasi-injectivity) and obtain further applications. Let G x X → X be an action of the connected algebraic group G on the irreducible, affine variety X. We discuss the relationship between [k[X]G] and k(X)G, where [k[X]G] denotes the quotient field of k[X]G. We are particularly interested in the following three questions.
