This study utilizes the response surface methodology (RSM) with the Central Composite Design (CCD) to create a mathematical model and enhance the manufacturing of chicken feed pellets through a rolling wheels system by optimizing process parameters. The individual and combined effects of two process parameters, namely the number of rolling wheels and the engine rotation, were studied. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) shows the relative significance of the process parameters in making pelleted chicken feed. Engine rotations are more significant in increasing production capacity, pellet durability, and machine efficiency than the number of rolling wheels. Design-Expert software was used in developing a second-order regression model to predict optimization of engine parameters. Optimal conditions for producing production capacity, pellet durability, and engine efficiency are found in the number of two rolling wheels and the engine rotation at 80 rpm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to determine the appropriate machine rotation parameters concerning corn parameters (corn diameter and length) in optimizing shelling efficiency, shelling capacity, and shelling quality in a two-hopper corn shelling machine. The research method began with the design and fabrication of the machine, machine testing, measurement of corn characteristics (corn diameter and length), determination of machine rotations (1200, 2000, 2800, and 3600 rpm), data collection for shelling efficiency, shelling capacity, and shelling quality measurements, and data analysis of the test results. The initial data for the two-hopper corn shelling machine testing were as follows: a) Diameter of the front shelling chamber is 85 mm, b) Diameter of the rear shelling chamber is 55 mm, c) Length of the shelling chamber is 300 mm, and d) The distance of the shelling knives from the front of the shelling chamber is 210 mm. It is possible to draw the following conclusion from studies on the two-hoper system corn shelling machine: 1). The corn's diameter significantly impacts the effectiveness of shelling. While the shelling efficiency is higher at a corn diameter of 31 to 38 mm at a rotating speed of 2000 rpm, 2800 rpm, and 3600 rpm, it is lower at a corn diameter of 33 to 37 mm at a speed of 1200 rpm. 2). The efficiency and capacity of shelling are significantly impacted by engine speed. The capacity and efficiency of shelling increase with engine speed. 3). 2800 rpm is the proper rotation speed for maximum corn shelling capacity, shelling efficiency, and broken grains. The impacts of two process parameters, namely the number of pressure plates and the angle of the pressure plates, were investigated alone and in combination. ANOVA determines the relative relevance of process characteristics in the production of pelleted chicken feed. The angle of the press plate is more important than the number of press plates in enhancing production capacity, pellet durability, and machine efficiency. The Design-Expert program was used to construct a second-order regression model for predicting engine parameter optimization. The industrial sectors in Indonesia is currently growing very rapidly because it is supported by the development of technology in the field of manufacturing. One of the most frequently used machining operations in the manufacturing industry is welding operations. Welding operation is the most efficient and efficient method to combine two or more metal components. The product quality of welding can be obtained by using the production tool (fixture). The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of turbine runner product by using the welding fixture. The method was to design and make welding fixture of turbine runner welding, test the concentricity, straightness of the dish, the stability of the dish to the shaft, and the alignment of the blades to the shaft, and to analyze the deviation of measurement results. Based on the result of welding fixture design of cross-flow turbine runner component, a prototype welding fixture which can facilitate the assembling process of cross-flow turbine runner component was obtained. The conclusions of this research were: 1) The quality of the cross-flow turbine runner product can be increased along with the small geometrical deviation on cross-flow turbine runner using accelerator tool, 2). The maximum deviation of the runner disc placement to the axis of the axis on the 300mm diameter runner is 1.2mm and the runner of 200mm with diameter of 0.68mm, and 3). This study aims to improve the quality and quantity of chicken feed pellets through the development of pellet machines using a taper wheel model. The development of pellet machines using tapered wheel roller model begins by designing machine components, assembling, assembling, testing, and analyzing test result data. The pellet system consists of 4 rollers of tapered wheels that feed the feed ingredients into a molding hole. The working principle of pellet four-wheel drive system is the main axle driven by electric motors with 1 HP power. This shaft rotates a mold plate having holes 4-6 mm in size. The feed mixture is fed into the input funnel. Furthermore, feed mixture is put into the mold hole after being pressed by four wheels roller. The feed mixture will be fused and solidified after passing through a tapered and cylindrical molding hole. The design of the machine pellet four tapered roller wheel system found that the average particle density and bulk density of pellet chicken feed were about 363 kg/m3 and 726 kg/m3. The average capacity of the machine was 24.0 kg/hr. The percentage of durability of pellet and broken pellet were about 86.22% - 89.48% average 87.77% and 10.52% - 13.78% average 8.27% respectively.
