The present review aims to shed light on the effect of three amino acids glycine, alanine and proline having concentration 0.7 mol·kg−1 on the aggregation behavior of surface active ionic liquids 1-decyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide [C10mim]Br, 1-dodecyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide [C12mim]Br as well as conventional anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in aqueous medium at different temperatures. On the other hand, aggregation behavior of 1-tetradecyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide, [C14mim][Br] is analyzed in presence of L-alanine (L-Ala), L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) and L-tryptophan (L-Trp). The results obtained by employing conductivity measurement are compared to know surfactant-amino acid interactions, which contribute to deeper understanding of the effect of surfactants on the properties of peptides. The critical micelle concentration values of surface active ionic liquid as well as surfactant decrease in the presence of all the amino acids which indicates greater tendency of micellization in presence of amino acids. Static permittivity (ε0) and permittivity at optical frequency (ε∞) of ethylene glycol monophenyl ether (EGMPE), methanol (MeOH) and their binary mixtures of varying concentrations have been measured at room temperature (T=299.15 K). The investigation showed a systematic change in permittivity with change in concentration of MeOH in binary mixture system. Measured data have been used to calculate the various dielectric parameters such as excess static permittivity (ε0E), excess permittivity at optical frequency (ε∞E) and Bruggeman factor (fB). Determined parameters provided some information about the molecular interaction among the molecular species of the binary mixtures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
