Six new phenylpropanoid glycosides ( 1 - 6 ), two new phenylethanol glycosides ( 7 and 8 ), one new phenylmethanol glycoside ( 9 ), three new phenylpropanoid dimers ( 10 - 12 ), two new phenylpropanoid-flavan-3-ol heterodimers ( 13 and 14 ), and six known relevant compounds ( 15 - 20 ) were isolated and identified from the well-liked edible and medicinal substance (the bark of Cinnamomum cassia (L.) J.Presl). The structures of these isolates were determined by using spectroscopic analyses, chemical methods, and quantum chemical calculations. Notably, compounds 4 - 9 were rare apiuronyl-containing glycosides, and compounds 13 and 14 were heterodimers of phenylpropanoids and flavan-3-ols linked through C-9″-C-8 bonds. The antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of all isolates were evaluated. Compounds 10 and 12 exhibited DPPH radical scavenging capacities with IC 50 values of 20.1 and 13.0 μM, respectively (vitamin C IC 50 value of 14.3 μM). In the ORAC experiment, all these compounds exhibited different levels of capacity for scavenging free radicals, and compound 10 displayed extraordinary free radical scavenging capacity with the ORAC value of 6.42 ± 0.01 μM TE/μM (EGCG ORAC value of 1.54 ± 0.02 μM TE/μM). Compound 12 also showed significant α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with an IC 50 of 56.3 μM (acarbose IC 50 of 519.4 μM).

Currently, the infection with Helicobacter pylori affects about half of the world's population, and the most common therapy to treat H. pylori is the first line clarithromycin-based triple therapy or the quadruple therapy. However, drug resistance, eradication in a low level, high rate of reinfection, and gastrointestinal side effects among the causative organisms for H. pylori infection pose a critical challenge to the global health care community. Therefore, new approaches to treat H. pylori infections are urgently needed. Chicken egg yolk constituting a source of immunoglobulin Y (IgY) has attracted noticeable attention for its advantages of cost-effective extraction, minimization of animal harm and suffering, and induction of no specific resistance and is, therefore, being regarded as an alternative therapy for H. pylori infection. This review is intended to summarize various H. pylori antigens for IgY preparation in terms of their application, mechanism, and limitations.

Herein, a Au-Au/IrO 2 nanocomposite with tandem enzyme-mimicking activity was innovatively synthesized, which can show outstanding glucose oxidase (GOx)-like activity and peroxidase-like activity simultaneously under neutral conditions. Moreover, a Au-Au/IrO 2 @Cu(PABA) reactor was prepared via encapsulation of the Au-Au/IrO 2 nanocomposite in a Cu(PABA) metal organic framework. The reactor not only exhibits excellent organic solvent stability, acid resistance, and reusability but also displays better cascade reaction catalytic efficiency ( k cat / K m = 148.86 min -1 mM -1 ) than the natural free enzyme system (GOx/HRP) ( k cat / K m = 98.20 min -1 mM -1 ) and Au-Au/IrO 2 nanocomposite ( k cat / K m = 135.24 min -1 mM -1 ). In addition, it is found that the reactor can catalyze glucose or dissolved oxygen to produce active oxygen species (ROS) including HO, 1 O 2 , and O 2 - · through its enzyme-mimicking activity. Finally, the novel reactor was successfully used in organic dye degradation and antibacterial application. The results show that it can effectively degrade methyl orange, methylene blue, and rhodamine B, which all can reach a degradation rate of nearly 100% after interacting with Au-Au/IrO 2 @Cu (PABA) for 3.5 h. Furthermore, the reactor also exhibits excellent antibacterial activity, so as to achieve a complete bactericidal effect to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli at a concentration of 12.5 μg mL -1 .

The diisobutyl phthalate (DiBP) hapten containing an amino group was synthesized successfully, and the polyclonal antibody against 4-amino phthalate-bovine serum albumin (BSA) was developed. On the basis of the polyclonal antibody, a rapid and sensitive indirect competitive fluorescence immunoassay (icFIA) has been established to detect DiBP in edible oil samples for the first time. Under the optimized conditions, the quantitative working range of the icFIA was from 10.47 to 357.06 ng/mL (R(2) = 0.991), exhibiting a detection limit of 5.82 ng/mL. In this assay, the specific results showed that other similar phthalates did not significantly interfere with the analysis, with the cross-reactivity less than 1.5%, except for that of DiBAP. Thereafter, DiBP contamination in edible oil samples was detected by icFIA, with the recovery being from 79 to 103%. Furthermore, the reliability of icFIA was validated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Therefore, the developed icFIA is suitable for monitoring DiBP in some edible oil samples.
