An experimental study is undertaken on the fusion, crystal formation and magnetic components of the neutral dinuclear complexes and 2-D networks on the basis of nanosized clusters. The structure of the 2-D networks suggests that based on an appropriate assembly procedure, 3-D frameworks with huge pores might be built with the high-nuclearity 3d-4f clusters, which might possibly be used in absorption and catalysis.

The interesting structural features and photoluminescent properties of dimeric Cd(II) complex and two d(super 10) metal-hydroxy cluster-based coordination polymers based on the H2bna ligand, are described.
