Direct inkjet digital printing is a relatively green and environmentally friendly textile printing method with a wide range of applications in the textile printing and dyeing industry. However, pretreatment of the fabric is required before digital printing, which will generate certain energy consumption and wastewater. In this study, a digital direct inkjet printing method was developed to improve the printing accuracy of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fabrics without any pretreatment. A kind of direct inkjet printing ink was prepared by the response change in temperature viscosity. The increase in viscosity inhibits ink bleeding on the fabric, thereby improving printing accuracy. A thermosensitive direct inkjet printing disperse dye ink was prepared by adding cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and 3-methylsalicylic acid (3MS) to the ink. By evaluating the changes in the ink particle size, shear viscosity, and temperature viscosity, it was found that this thermosensitive ink has an excellent average particle size and special changes in viscosity with increasing temperature. When this heat-sensitive ink is printed on a polyester fabric, the fabric does not need pretreatment to improve the clarity of printing, and the printed fabric has satisfactory color fastness to friction and washing.

A catalytic asymmetric nucleophilic reverse prenylation of indol-2-ones in situ generated from 3-bromooxindoles with prenyltributylstannane promoted by Ni(II)/chiral N,N' -dioxide was developed. This reaction provides facile access to C3 reverse-prenylated oxindoles in good to excellent enantioselectivities, which enabled the asymmetric synthesis of debromoflustramine A in five steps.

Inkjet printing technology is widely used in the textile digital printing application today though the current technology still requires pretreatment and postwashing procedures before and after printing. Additional chemical treatment generates a large amount of wastewater and complicates the process. Among the many potential approaches for reducing chemical waste, pigments with self-dispersing capability were prepared and formulated into binder-free inkjet inks that require no pretreatment or after-washing process when printing cotton fabrics. The new self-dispersing pigment inks were tested and evaluated on cotton fabrics. The distribution of particles was between 122.2 and 188.5 nm, and inks have excellent storage capability. Printed fabrics' light fastness and acid/alkali resistance are about grade 5, and printed cotton's washing and rubbing fastness are above grade 3. The mechanism and performance of ink drops were investigated by LF-NMR and ink-drop observation methods. This work provides a possible solution for reducing wastewater in the textile industry.

Microbial transformations of two tetracyclic beyerane-type diterpenes, ent -16β-oxobeyeran-19-oic acid ( 1 ) and its chemical reduction product, ent -16β-hydroxybeyeran-19-oic acid ( 2 ), by the filamentous fungus Cunninghamella echinulata ATCC 8688a yielded eight metabolites ( 3-10 ). Incubation of the substrate 2 with C. echinulata afforded three new hydroxylated ones ( 3-5 ) along with two known ones ( 6 - 7 ), while incubation of 1 gave three known ones ( 8-10 ). The new compounds were characterized by 1D and 2D NMR as well as HRESIMS analysis, and the stereostructures of 3 and 4 were confirmed by X-ray crystallography. The bioreactions were involved not only in stereoselective incorporation of hydroxyl groups at inert positions C-7, -9, -12, and -14 of the two beyerane diterpenes but also in glucosidation at C-19 of 2 . This is the first report on the biotransformation of the diterpenes by using C. echinulata . All compounds were assayed for their α-glucosidase inhibitory, neurotrophic, anti-inflammatory, and phytotoxic activity, and only in neurotrophic assay compounds, 2 and 9 were found to display nerve growth factor-mediated neurite-outgrowth promoting effects in PC12 cells; the others were inactive.
