Abstract

The C-terminal src kinase (CSK) isolated from bovine thymus cytosol was characterized by analytic methods. Assays for the protein tyrosine kinase activity of CSK showed that CSK inactivated pp60c-src and p56lyn in increasing efficiency via phosphorylation. The differences in CSK's phosphorylating activity was found to lie on the structural differences between the C-terminal portions of pp60c-src and p56lyn.
