Abstract

The article presents a tissue-engineered treatment approach based on a bioprinted autologous auricular cartilage construct (EarCartilage) combined with a bioengineered human pigmented and prevascularized dermo-epidermal skin substitute (EarSkin) tested in immunocompromised rats. Topics discussed include evaluation of EarSkin in vitro, development of bioprinted human cartilage control discs in vitro, and isolation and expansion of human chondrocytes.
