Abstract

The article examines the accuracy of dipstick urinalysis for the diagnosis of acute urinary tract infection (UTI). It relates that nitrite and leukocyte esterase (LE) test on dipstick urinalysis help improve diagnostic accuracy. It has confirmed the sufficient accuracy of a negative result on dipstick urinalysis in excluding a UTI. It outlines the rate of sensitivity and specificity of dipstick urinalysis for LE.
