Our work aims to analyse several archetypal images and symbols specific to primordiality, as they are updated in the mythological inspirational prose of Michel Tournier. In our analytical approach, we will use the instruments of mitocracy and myth analysis. Starting from Tournier's texts and the myths of Paradise and the Golden Age, we identified these archetypes and archetypal images related to Primordium: Chaos, Transcendence, Paradise, Androgynous, primordial couple. The number of symbols that updates these invariants is impressive but our analysis focuses on the following elements: forest, darkness, night, primordial waters, fire, island, rain, bird, butterfly, mountain. The Journey of Saint Brendan is a text of the IXth century, taken back the next centuries, and which lends itself to multiple analyses. In the pages below, I shall isolate the most significant authorities of this journey, from the point of view of the Christian symbolism, because we talk about a journey towards the Paradise. The messengers, the food, the support, the running water, softer than the sweet wine, the whale, the magic birds form a dream world which contributes to the creation of a particular Paradise.
