The archive study of Ivan Fedorovich Gutt’s (1879–1933) biography, a student of Professor N.D. Zelinskii, are presented. His graduation papers are described.

This article considers some methods and test data of the static and dynamic properties of a hydroelasti equipment. The results of a pilot study of the load and the stiffening characteristics of the vibration isolator in its longitudinal and transverse directions, as well as its dynamic characteristics, are shown in the article. The static and dynamic characteristics depending on the weight load for product certification are mentioned here as well.

The problem of suppression of vibration caused by subway trains is considered. The reduction of vibration arising during the interaction of rolling stock and rails at the rail—wheel contact is realized by the placement of elastic-inertial shock absorbers with inner inertial elements under a track structure. Enhancement of the vibration isolation effect (by 6–14 dB) with the preservation of the required value of static stiffness is predicted.

A design of an angular compensating sleeve with layered elastic elements is considered. Multilayer rubber-metal elements with planar circular layers are used for better vibration isolation. The vibrational stiffness of elastic elements and the sleeve under spatial loading is estimated numerically. The problem of parametric identification of the model is solved by comparison of numerical and experimental data.

The emanation factor of clay strata was measured in a series of experiments. The clay emanation factor grows with increased dispersion and can reach values of up to 67%. This can be explained, in our view, by the increased number of nanodimensional particles with good emanation characteristics.
