A combined superconducting magnetic system with a uniform field of up to 20 T has been developed. The system contains several solenoidal sections and a magnetic flux concentrator consisting of hydroextruded dysprosium. The sections are wound from NbTi, Nb3Sn wires and Nb3Sn ribbon. A magnetic shield made out of Nb3Sn ribbon is applied in order to increase the uniformity of the magnetic field. The magnetic field achieved in the gap between the ends of the concentrator has a high spatial uniformity ΔН/Н ∼ 5 × 10−5.
