Abstract

This contribution describes the first direct measurements of the quark transversity distribution in polarized p+p collisions at s = 200 GeV by the STAR experiment. These data, taken in 2006 during RHIC run 6, represent a sample of 2.4 pb−1 with an average beam polarization of 58%.
