The scientific school of discrete geometry and mathematical crystallography, founded in the 60s of last century by member-corresponding of ASM, D.Sc. Professor A. Zamorzaev (1927-1997) at MSU, experienced a rapid development and soon gained international recognition. D. Sc. Professor A. Palistrant (1933 – 2014), one of the prominent disciples of A. Zamorzaev, mathematician with exceptional geometric intuition has contributed substantially to strengthening and further development of one of the directions of scientific research within the school. Using different types of groups of specific P-symmetries has managed to describe the structure of multidimensional crystallographic groups symmetry of certain categories with invariant planes.
