Business organizations intending to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act should implement changes in the attitudes of its members to ensure the widespread acceptance of the disabled into the workforce. The management should lead in the integration effort through programs that emphasize the capabilities of the disabled and eliminate perceptions that derive from myths about the disabled. Top management must be able to demonstrate their acceptance through supportive programs and actions, and set an example for the rest of the employees.
