Small burrowing herbivores play a crucial role in maintaining structure and function of grassland ecosystems. To date, our understanding of whether practicing ecological uniqueness can enhance plant diversity conservation under small herbivore disturbances remains limited. Here, we investigate the ecological uniqueness of plant communities, which include habitats disturbed and undisturbed by plateau pikas. In 30 geographic regions of alpine grasslands, plateau pikas lead to plant assemblages that differ from those in undisturbed habitats and reduce the ecological uniqueness. During this process, plant turnover dominate the changes in ecological uniqueness. In the presence of plateau pika, the influence of altitude is diminished, with plant relative abundance, species richness, and functional richness measurements emerging as core predictors of ecological uniqueness. Notably, the negative effect of relative abundance on ecological uniqueness shifts to a positive effect, supporting the status of the plateau pika as ecosystem engineers at larger spatial scales. A combined beta regression model incorporating bare patch areas and active burrow entrances explains 46% of the variation in the ecological uniqueness. Given the limited resources available for conservation, we propose prioritizing the protection of undisturbed and low-intensity plateau pika habitats, rather than pursuing eradication. Additionally, near-natural restoration (e.g., controlling pika populations, sustainable grazing) in highly disturbed habitats is crucial for maintaining ecological uniqueness. The anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process is essential in new technologies such as water electrolysis and metal-air batteries. However, it often exhibits suboptimal efficiency and delayed kinetics. This study presents a novel and new design for the fabrication of homogeneous FeNiBTC/SSM (SSM = stainless steel material) with tunable crystalline properties by a self-sacrificial and in situ synthesis from a recycled stainless steel substrate. The modified stainless steel template enhances the material's properties compared to the original mesh substrate and its structure can be attributed to the typical MIL-100 (Material of Institute Lavoisier) structure, which is a hierarchically structured, highly chemically stable material formed by FeO6 octahedral clusters around a single shared oxygen anion. The as-synthesized FeNiBTC/SSM4 catalyst exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance for OER, as indicated by its small Tafel slope (74.5 mV dec -1 ), low overpotential (η 10 223.7 mV), and high current retention (95.4 %) after a stability test lasting 45 h. Introduction: The prevention of postoperative abdominal adhesions is one of the top concerns of surgeons after abdominal surgery. Therefore, identifying effective interventions to reduce postoperative abdominal adhesions are essential., Methods: Fifty male Bagg's albino/c mice were randomly divided into five groups, and all groups underwent postoperative adhesion model surgery, except for the sham group. The sham and control groups were gavaged with saline solution. Based on the control group, the sodium hyaluronate group was treated with 1 mL sodium hyaluronate (smeared on the modeling site and the abdominal cavity was closed). The other two groups were gavaged with different doses of lycopene (10 μg/kg and 20 μg/kg). Seven d after surgery, the mice were sacrificed and adhesion conditions were assessed using Nair's scoring system. Subsequently, adherent tissues were harvested and the inflammation was assessed by using haematoxylin and eosin staining and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay for interleukin-6 and transforming growth factor-β1. Oxidative stress and collagen deposition condition were also detected in each mouse. Furthermore, a lycopene-induced HMrSV5 cell model was used to explore the possible functional mechanisms., Results: 20 μg/kg of lycopene-treated group had a lower Nair's and inflammation score, both with an average score of 1.75. Also, the level of transforming growth factor -β1 and interleukin-6 in the 20 μg/kg of lycopene-treated group was lower than others. Furthermore, 20 μg/kg of lycopene had reduced the reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde levels in adhesion tissues compared to other groups. Fiber thickness and α-smooth muscle actin expression in adherent tissues were significantly reduced after lycopene treatment. Besides, 20 μg/kg of lycopene treatment can promote the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 and silent information regulator 1. Species complex hinders the exploration of terrestrial species diversity, particularly in small arthropod lineages that are morphologically indistinguishable from each other. The Epitrimerus sabinae complex in the Eriophyoidea provides a valuable case study in species complex delimitation, as they exhibit limited morphological variations. In this study, we obtained thousands of nuclear genomic single-nucleotide polymorphisms via whole-genome sequencing from 55 E. sabinae complex specimens, covering their potential all known distribution ranges. We implemented a framework to infer cryptic speciation, which involved phylogenetic and genetic clustering to identify potential species, followed by population demographic assessment to confirm lineage independence (and thus species status). Our results demonstrate that the E. sabinae complex comprises ten distinct species. These species range from highly divergent, genetically isolated lineages, to differentiated populations involving gene flow. This gene flow is widespread across species boundaries, indicating potential genetic introgression among them. Additionally, demographic analyses revealed that the ten species have followed unique trajectories in size change during the Quaternary period. Time-calibrated phylogenies further showed that speciation in the E. sabinae complex occurred rapidly, resulting in a rapid radiation during the Neogene period. Collectively, parallelism/convergence and recent divergence involving multiple gene flows may explain the homoplasy of E. sabinae complex. As global environmental pollution worsens, environmental governance has become a critical aspect of corporate development. In environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk management, how firms address the threat of greenwashing has emerged as a central focus in achieving sustainable green development. This study explores an under-researched factor contributing to ESG greenwashing: renewable energy technology innovation (RETI). Using supervised machine learning and text analysis methods, the study constructs a proxy variable for RETI and applies it to a sample of Chinese listed companies. The findings reveal that RETI reduces corporate ESG greenwashing, and this effect remains consistent after a series of endogeneity and robustness tests. The inhibitory impact of RETI on ESG greenwashing is more significant when board experiential diversity and media attention are higher. Inspired by ecological floating beds to treat water pollution through photosynthesis, we employed a combination of calcination and hydrothermal methods to construct a photothermal-assisted photocatalysis system based on a floating monolithic porous mesh of g-C 3 N 4 (MPMCN) loaded with the excellent photothermal material Bi 2 MoO 6 (BMO), forming a BMO/MPMCN S-scheme heterojunction. This approach improved the utilization efficiency of solar light by BMO/MPMCN, minimized heat loss, and enhanced the overall temperature of the material during the reaction process, thereby accelerating interfacial electron transfer. The unique floating structure confers a larger specific surface area to BMO/MPMCN, providing more reaction sites for TC pollutants and efficiently removing TC contamination from water. BMO/MPMCN degradated 99.3% of TC after 90 min of photothermal reaction, and exhibited good recyclability and reusability. Structural and performance characterizations of the material were carried out using techniques such as XRD, TEM, electrochemical testing, and ESR. Furthermore, the corresponding band structure and S-scheme electron transfer mechanism of the BMO/MPMCN heterojunction were deduced through the combination of in-situ XPS and UPS. The possible degradation pathways of TC and the ecological toxicity changes of intermediate products were analyzed. The prevalence of Chinese parents using upward social comparisons to influence their children's behavior is well-documented. However, the lack of reliable tools for measuring parental social comparisons, combined with a limited understanding of their association with preschoolers' mastery motivation, highlights a significant gap in research. To bridge this gap, we undertook a comprehensive investigation. Study 1 involved the development of the Parental Social Comparison Scale. Study 2 and Study 3 explored the association between parental social comparisons and children's mastery motivation, considering perspectives from parents (N = 194; M age  = 33.72 years, SD = 4.97) and children (N = 102; M age  = 5.14 years, SD = 3.78). The increasingly intricate electromagnetic environment necessitates higher anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities for electronic devices, thereby demanding a flexible absorbing material that can adapt to multiple forms, is lightweight, and exhibits excellent electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption properties. In this study, we have developed a novel flexible absorbing material (FAM) based on glass-coated amorphous magnetic fibers (SFs) and Dallenbach-like absorbing structures through wet forming technology. By combining high-performance absorbing fiber with textile structures, the FAM demonstrates EMW absorption performance along with lightweight flexibility and shape adaptability. This paper explores the influence of process parameters in wet forming technology on FAM formation; as well as examines the construction of broadband absorbers through structural optimization. A single-layer FAM with a thickness of 1.7 mm (SFs length 8 mm, content 3 g/m 2 ) achieves an impressive reflection loss (RL) value of -60.1 dB at 11.6 GHz. Furthermore, optimized multi-layer FAM attains effective absorption bandwidth (EAB: RL ≤ -5 dB) across a wide range from 3 to 14 GHz. Toxoplasma gondii (T.gondii) can influence the host's neurotransmission, central immune responses, and brain structure, potentially impacting the onset and development of various psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. We employed Electrochemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA) to measure anti-Toxoplasma antibodies in 451 schizophrenic patients and 478 individuals from the general population in Hunan, China. The incidence rate of T.gondii infection in schizophrenic patients (8.87 %) was higher than that in the general population (3.77 %). A significant difference was observed among females, but not in males. Age-stratified analysis revealed significant differences in the 21-40 and 41-60 age groups. The two populations had no significant difference in the antibody titer for T. gondii infection. Additionally, the profile of circulating metabolites in the serum of schizophrenic patients with or without T. gondii infection was examined using non-targeted metabolomics assay. A total of 68 metabolites were differentially expressed between Toxoplasma-positive and Toxoplasma-negative groups, potentially mediating the connection between T. gondii infection and schizophrenia. The practical application of zinc ion batteries (ZIBs) can be facilitated by designing cathode materials with unique structures that can overcome the critical problems of slow reaction kinetics and large volume expansion associated with the intercalation reaction of divalent zinc ions. In this study, a novel urchin-like (NH 4 ) 2 V 10 O 25 ·8H 2 O assembled from nanorods was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method, noted as U-NVO. The interlayer organic pillar of cetyltrimethylammonium cation (CTAB) has been intercalated between layers to regulate the interlayer microstructure and expand the interlayer spacing to 1.32 nm, which effectively increased the contact between the electrode and electrolyte interface and shortened the diffusion path of electrolyte ions. The interlayer pillars of structural H 2 O and NH 4 + provide a flexible framework structure and enhance the cohesion of the layered structure, which helps to maintain structural stability during the charging and discharging process, resulting in long-term durability. These unique properties result in the U-NVO cathodes demonstrating high specific capacity (401.7 mA h g -1 at 0.1 A g -1 ), excellent rate capability (99.6 % retention from 0.1 to 5 A g -1 and back to 0.1 A g -1 ), and long-term cycling performance (∼87.5 % capacity retention after 2600 cycles). Plaque-induced gingivitis is an inflammatory response in gingival tissues resulting from bacterial plaque accumulation at the gingival margin. Postbiotics can promote the proliferation of beneficial bacteria and optimise the state of microbiota in the oral cavity. In this study, we investigated the effect of inactivated Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Probio-01 on plaque-induced gingivitis and the dental plaque microbiota. A total of 32 healthy gingival participants (Group N, using blank toothpaste for 3 months) and 60 patients with plaque-induced gingivitis (30 in Group F, using inactivated Probio-01 toothpaste for 3 months, and 30 in Group B, using blank toothpaste for 3 months, respectively) were recruited. Clinical indices, which included bleeding on probing (BOP), gingival index (GI), and plaque index (PI), were used to assess the severity of gingivitis. Furthermore, 16SrDNA amplicon sequencing was used to explore changes in the gingival state and dental plaque microbiota in patients with plaque-induced gingivitis. The results showed that inactivated Probio-01 significantly reduced clinical indices of gingivitis, including BOP, GI, and PI, in participants with plaque-induced gingivitis and effectively relieved gingival inflammation, compared with that observed in the control group (group B). Inactivated Probio-01 did not significantly influence the diversity of dental plaque microbiota, but increased the relative abundance of dental plaque core bacteria, such as Leptotrichia and Fusobacterium (P < 0.05). Strong correlations were observed between the indices and abundance of dental plaque microbiota. Overall, the inactivated Probio-01 significantly reduced the clinical indices of gingivitis and effectively improved gingival inflammation in patients with plaque-induced gingivitis. Intimately coupled photocatalysis and biodegradation (ICPB) system is a potential wastewater treatment technology, of which TiO 2 -based ICPB system has been widely studied. There are many ways to improve the degradation efficiency of the ICPB process, but no crystal facet engineering method has been reported yet. In this work, a new ICPB system coated with NaF-TiO 2 exposing high energy facets was designed to degrade biorecalcitrant psychotropic drug - venlafaxine (VNF). Initially, the TiO 2 crystal surface was modified with NaF, resulting in the formation of NaF-TiO 2 with a 14.4% increase in the exposure ratio of (001). The contribution rate of ·OH was increased by 9.5%, and the contribution rate of h + was increased by 33.2%. Next, NaF-TiO 2 was loaded onto the surface of the sponge carrier, and then the ICPB system was constructed after about 15 days of biofilm formation. After the ICPB system was acclimated with VNF, the removal rate of COD decreased significantly (the lowest was 62.7%), but that of ammonia nitrogen remained at 50.5 ± 6.0% and the extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) secretion increased by 84.1 mg/g VSS. According to the high throughput results, at the phylum level, Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi together maintain the nitrogen removal capability and structural stability of the ICPB system. The relative abundance of Bacteroidota was significantly increased by 14.2%, suggesting that there may be some correlation between Bacteroidota and certain metabolites of the anti-depressant active ingredients. At the genus level, the Thauera (3.1%∼11.5%) is the major bacterial group that secretes EPS, protecting biofilm against external influences. Most of the changes in microorganisms are consistent with the decontamination properties and macroscopic appearance of EPS in the ICPB system. Finally, the degradation efficiency of ICPB system for VNF was investigated (92.7 ± 3.8%) and it was mostly through hydroxylation and demethylation pathways, with more small molecular products detected, providing the basis for biological assimilation of VNF. CRF-like diuretic hormone receptor (CRF/DHR), also known as DH44R in insects, are G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) that play a role in regulating osmotic balance in various insect species. These receptors have the potential to be targeted for the development of insecticides. However, our understanding of the role of DHR genes in aphids, including Rhopalosiphum padi, a major wheat pest, is currently limited. In this study, we isolated and characterized two R. padi DHRs (RpDHR1 and RpDHR2). The expression levels of RpDHR1 increased after starvation and were restored after re-feeding. The expression levels of RpDHR1 gene decreased significantly 24 h after injection of dsRNA targeting the gene. Knockdown of RpDHR1 increased aphid mortality under starvation conditions (24, 36, 48 and 60 h). Under starvation and desiccation condition, the aphid mortality decreased after knockdown of RpDHR1. This is the first study to report the role of DHR genes in the starvation and desiccation response of aphids. The results suggest that RpDHR1 is involved in the resistance of R. padi to starvation and dehydration, making it a potential target for insecticide development. The step-scheme (S-scheme) heterojunction has excellent redox capability, effectively degrading organic pollutants in wastewater. Combining S-scheme heterojunction with activated persulfate advanced oxidation process reasonably can further enhance the degradation of Emerging Contaminants. Herein, a novel zero-dimensional/one-dimensional (0D/1D) CoO-CuBi 2 O 4 (CoO-CBO) photocatalyst with S-scheme heterojunction was designed by hydrothermal and solvothermal methods. The band structure and electron and hole transfer pathway of CoO-CBO were analyzed using the ex-situ and in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Ultraviolet and Visible Spectrophotometer (UV-Vis) and optical radiation Kelvin probe force microscope (KPFM), and the formation of S-scheme heterojunction was demonstrated. The photocatalytic activity of ·S-scheme CoO-CBO heterojunction was carried out by degrading tetracycline (TC) with activating potassium monopersulfate triple salt under visible light. Compared with pure CuBi 2 O 4 and pure CoO, 30%CoO/CuBi 2 O 4 catalyst exhibited the highest TC degradation performance after activating persulfate, degrading 89.5% of TC within 90 min. On the one hand, the S-scheme heterojunction formed between CoO and CBO had a high redox potential. On the other hand, the activation of persulfate by Co and Cu could accelerate redox cycles and facilitate the generation of active radicals such as SO 4 - , O 2 - and OH, promoting the separation of the photogenerated e - and h + in the composite, enhancing the peroxydisulfate (PDS) activation performance and improving the degradation effect of TC. Then, a gradual decrease in the toxicity of the intermediates in the TC degradation process was detected by ECOCER. Aberrant susceptibility due to iron level abnormality and brain network disconnections are observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD), with disrupted iron homeostasis hypothesized to be linked to AD pathology and neuronal loss. However, whether associations exist between abnormal quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM), brain atrophy, and altered brain connectome in AD remains unclear. Based on multi-parametric brain imaging data from 30 AD patients and 26 healthy controls enrolled at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, we investigated the abnormality of the QSM signal and volumetric measure across 246 brain regions in AD patients. The structural and functional connectomes were constructed based on diffusion MRI tractography and functional connectivity, respectively. The network topology was quantified using graph theory analyses. We identified seven brain regions with both reduced cortical thickness and abnormal QSM (p < 0.05) in AD, including the right superior frontal gyrus, left superior temporal gyrus, right fusiform gyrus, left superior parietal lobule, right superior parietal lobule, left inferior parietal lobule, and left precuneus. Correlations between cortical thickness and network topology computed across patients in the AD group resulted in statistically significant correlations in five of these regions, with higher correlations in functional compared to structural topology. We computed the correlation between network topological metrics, QSM value and cortical thickness across regions at both individual and group-averaged levels, resulting in a measure we call spatial correlations. We found a decrease in the spatial correlation of QSM and the global efficiency of the structural network in AD patients at the individual level. Introduction: Limited English Proficiency (LEP) status has been associated with worse patient outcomes on a variety of metrics., Methods: A retrospective review of all bilateral breast reduction mammoplasty patients at our institution between 2015 and 2019 was performed. Data collected include patient demographics, language status, interpreter usage, complications, and follow-up clinic/emergency department visits. Patients were grouped into high and low follow-up cohorts by median follow-up. Bivariate testing and regression modeling were used for analysis., Results: A total of 1023 patients were included. Average age and body mass index (BMI) were 37.7 years and 31.7 kg/m 2 . All LEP (21%) patients used interpreters. There were 590 individuals in the low follow-up and 433 in the high follow-up group. Those in low follow-up were younger, with lower BMI, and were more likely to use Medicaid. Prevalence of diabetes and postoperative emergency department visits were higher in the high follow-up cohort. There were no significant differences in race/ethnicity, smoking status, and interpreter use between groups. Poisson modeling demonstrated that presence of complications is associated with a 0.435 increase in the number of clinic visits and a 1-y increase in age is associated with a 0.006 increase (P < 0.001). Interpreter use was not significantly associated with postoperative clinic visits. Multivariable regression modeling demonstrated BMI and diabetes to be significantly associated with incidence of any complication (odds ratio: 1.08 & 2.234; P < 0.001 &P = 0.01, respectively)., Conclusions: LEP status was not associated with worse postoperative outcomes or follow-up length in patients undergoing breast reduction mammoplasty. Focusing on three regions of interest (ROIs): the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV), the nucleus ambiguus (NA), and the nucleus of the solitary tract (NTS), we analyzed variations in resting-state functional connectivity (rs-FC), fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (fALFF), and regional homogeneity (ReHo)., Results: Achalasia patients demonstrated stronger functional connectivity between the NA and the right precentral gyrus, left postcentral gyrus, and left insula. No significant changes were found in the DMV or NTS. The fMRI analysis showed higher rs-FC values for NA-DMV and NA-NTS connections in achalasia patients. Achalasia patients exhibited decreased fALFF values in the NA, DMV, and NTS regions, as well as increased ReHo values in the NA and DMV regions. A positive correlation was observed between fALFF values in all six ROIs and the width of the barium meal. The NTS fALFF value and NA ReHo value displayed a positive correlation with integrated relaxation pressure (IRP), while the ReHo value in the right precentral gyrus showed an inverse correlation with the height of the barium meal., Conclusions: Abnormal rs-FC and regional brain activity was found in patients with achalasia. Piezocatalytic technology with controllable generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is emerging in wastewater treatment. This study employed the synergetic regulation of functional surface and phase interface modification to effectively accelerate redox reaction in piezocatalytic process. We anchored the conductive polydopamine (PDA) onto Bi 2 WO 6 (BWO) using template method, in which a small amount of Bi precipitation to induce partial phase transition of BWO from tetragonal to orthorhombic (t/o) in virtue of simple calcination. ROS traceability studies have identified the synergistic relationship between charge separation and transfer. Polarization in two-phase coexistence is intimately modulated by the orthorhombic relative central cation displacement. The orthorhombic phase with large electric dipole moment significantly promotes the generation of piezoresistive effect of intrinsic tetragonal BWO and optimizes the charge distribution. PDA further overcomes the obstruction of carrier migration at the phases interface to accelerate the generation rate of free radicals. Consequently, the superior rhodamine B (RhB) piezocatalytic degradation rate of 0.10 and 0.32 min -1 were delivered by t/o-BWO and t/o-BWO@PDA, respectively. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the whole-brain pattern of oxygen extraction fraction (OEF), cerebral blood flow (CBF), and cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen consumption (CMRO 2 ) perturbation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and investigate the relationship between regional cerebral oxygen metabolism and global cognition., Methods: Twenty-six AD patients and 25 age-matched healthy controls (HC) were prospectively recruited in this study. Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used to evaluate cognitive status. We applied the QQ-CCTV algorithm which combines quantitative susceptibility mapping and quantitative blood oxygen level-dependent models (QQ) for OEF calculation. CBF map was computed from arterial spin labeling and CMRO 2 was generated based on Fick's principle. Whole-brain and regional OEF, CBF, and CMRO 2 analyses were performed. The associations between these measures in substructures of deep brain gray matter and MMSE scores were assessed., Results: Whole brain voxel-wise analysis showed that CBF and CMRO 2 values significantly decreased in AD predominantly in the bilateral angular gyrus, precuneus gyrus and parieto-temporal regions. Regional analysis showed that CBF value decreased in the bilateral caudal hippocampus and left rostral hippocampus and CMRO 2 value decreased in left caudal and rostral hippocampus in AD patients. Considering all subjects in the AD and HC groups combined, the mean CBF and CMRO 2 values in the bilateral hippocampus positively correlated with the MMSE score., Conclusion: CMRO 2 mapping with the QQ-CCTV method - which is readily available in MR systems for clinical practice - can be a potential biomarker for AD. Transition-metal sulfides (TMS) have piqued a great deal of interest due to their unprecious nature and high intrinsic catalytic activity for water splitting. In this work, a low-cost and efficient route was developed, which included electrodeposition to prepare Ni-Co layered double hydroxide (NiCo-LDH) followed by ion exchange to form nickel cobalt sulfide (NiCoS x ). Electrochemical reduction was used to modulate sulfur vacancies in order to produce sulfur vacancies-rich NiCoS x with nanosheet arrays on -three-dimensional nickel foam (NiCoS x -0.4/NF) with a large area of more than 250 cm 2 . Combining data from experiments and density functional theoretical (DFT) calculations reveals that engineered sulfur vacancies change the electronic structure, electron transfer property, and surface electron density of NiCoS x , significantly improving the free energy of water adsorption and boosting electrocatalytic activity. The developed NiCoS x -0.4/NF has long-term stability of more than 300 h at 500 mA cm -2 in 1 M KOH at ambient temperature and only needs a 289 mV overpotential at 100 mA cm -2 . Remarkably, the synthesized electrocatalyst rich in sulfur vacancies, exhibits exceptional performance with a high current density of up to 1.9 A cm -2 and 1 A cm -2 in 6 M KOH and leads to overpotentials of 286 mV at 80 °C and 358 mV at 60 °C, respectively. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as materials for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) have received a lot of interest because of their large theoretical capacity and unique layered structure. However, the sluggish kinetics and inferior cyclic stability limit the usefulness of ZIBs. In the present investigation, the interlayer spacing enlarged MoSe 2 hollow nanospheres comprised of nanosheets with ultrathin shells have been successfully synthesized through a combined strategy of template assistance and anion-exchange reaction. The hierarchical ultrathin nanosheets and hollow structure effectively suppress the agglomeration of pure nanosheets and ameliorate volume fluctuations induced by ion migration during (dis)charging/charging. The interlayer expansion provides good channels for the transport of Zn 2+ ions and speeds up the insertion/extraction of Zn 2+ . In addition, in-situ carbon modification can significantly improve electronic conductivity. Therefore, the electrode prepared from MoSe 2 hollow nanospheres with enlarged interlayer spacing not only exhibits outstanding cycle stability (capacity retention of 94.5% after 1600 cycles) but also exhibits high-rate capability (266.1 mA h g -1 at 0.1 A g -1 and 203.6 mA h g -1 at 3 A g -1 ). The prevention and treatment of bioclogging is of great significance to the application of Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR). This study investigated the alleviating effect of biosurfactant rhamnolipid (RL) on bioclogging by laboratory-scale percolation experiments. The results show that the addition of RL greatly reduced bioclogging. Compared with the group without RL, the relative hydraulic conductivity (K') of the 100 mg/L RL group increased 5 times at the end of the experiment (23 h), while the bacterial cell amount and extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) content on the sand column surface (0-2 cm) decreased by 60.8% and 85.7%, respectively. In addition, the richness and diversity of the microbial communities within the clogging matter decreased after the addition of RL. A variety of bacterial phyla were found, among which Proteobacteria were predominant in all groups. At the genus level, RL reduced the relative abundance of Acinetobacter, Bacillus, Klebsiella, and Pseudomonas. These microbes are known as strong adhesion, large size, and easy to form biofilms, therefore playing a critical role during MAR bioclogging. Moreover, RL changed the surface properties of bacteria and porous media, which results in the increase of electrostatic repulsion and decrease of hydrophobic interaction between them. Therefore, RL mediated the bacteria-porous media interaction to reduce biomass in porous media, thereby alleviating bioclogging. Hexagonal boron nitride (BN) is an attractive filler candidate for thermal interface materials, but the thermal conductivity enhancement is limited by the anisotropic thermal conductivity of BN and disordered thermal pathways in the polymer matrix. Herein, a facile and economic ice template method is proposed, wherein BN modified by tannic acid (BN-TA) directly self-assemble to form vertically aligned nacre-mimetic scaffold without additional binders and post-treatment. The effects of the BN slurry concentration and the ratio of BN/TA on three-dimensional (3D) skeleton morphology are fully investigated. The corresponding polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite via vacuum-impregnation achieves a high through-plane thermal conductivity of 3.8 W/mK at a low filler loading of 18.7 vol%, which is 2433% and 100% higher than that of pristine PDMS and the PDMS composite with randomly distributed BN-TA, respectively. The finite element analysis results theoretically demonstrate the superiority of the highly longitudinally ordered 3D BN-TA skeleton in axial heat transfer. Additionally, 3D BN-TA/PDMS exhibits excellent practical heat dissipation capability, lower thermal expansion coefficient, and enhanced mechanical properties. Dysregulation of ferroptosis is involved in breast cancer progression and therapeutic responses. Inducing ferroptosis can be a potential therapeutic strategy for breast cancer treatment. Forkhead box Q1 (FOXQ1) is an oncogenic transcription factor that highly expressed and related with poor outcomes in various tumors. However, the specific effects of FOXQ1 on ferroptosis in breast cancer is unclear. In this study, we intended to explore the functions and potential mechanisms of FOXQ1 in breast cancer ferroptosis. By CCK-8, colony formation, wound healing, transwell and ferroptosis related assays, we explored the functions of FOXQ1 in breast cancer ferroptosis and progression. Through bioinformatics analysis of public database, luciferase reporter assay, RIP and ChIP assay, we investigated the potential mechanisms of FOXQ1 in breast cancer ferroptosis and progression. We found that FOXQ1 was overexpressed in breast cancer and associated with worse survival. Additionally, inhibition of FOXQ1 suppressed breast cancer ferroptosis and progression. Mechanically, we confirmed that FOXQ1 could bind to the promoter of circ&#95;0000643 host gene to increase the levels of circ&#95;0000643, which could sponge miR-153 and enhance the expression of SLC7A11, leading to reduced cell ferroptosis in breast cancer cells. Hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) is a devastating disease worldwide; however, effective therapeutic drugs are lacking. This study investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of LCZ696 treatment on hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were kept in a hypobaric chamber with an oxygen concentration of 5% for 4 weeks. Rats were treated with either LCZ696 (18 mg/kg, 36 mg/kg, and 72 mg/kg) or sildenafil. The mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP), right ventricle hypertrophy index (RVHI), and lung system index were measured. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, Masson staining, and immunofluorescence staining were used for histological analysis. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits were used to determine the concentrations of inflammatory and hypoxia-related factors. Western blotting was used to examine the expression of apoptotic and PI3K/AKT signaling pathway proteins in rat lung tissue. Hypoxia increased mPAP, RVHI, and lung system index and induced pulmonary vascular remodeling, pulmonary arteriomyosis, and pulmonary artery fibrosis. LCZ696 treatment reduced the increase in mPAP, RVHI, and the lung system index and ameliorated the induced pathological changes. Hypoxia upregulated expression of NF-kB, TNF-α, IL-6, HIF-1α, and Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), decreased the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2, and activated the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in lung tissue, and these effects were partially reversed by treatment with LCZ696. These results demonstrated that LCZ696 can ameliorate hypoxia-induced HPH by suppressing apoptosis, inhibiting the inflammatory response, and inhibiting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Transition metal phosphide (TMP) emerges as a promising electrocatalyst for overall water splitting (OWS). However, conventional TMP materials require exogenous metal ions to participate in coordination reactions, which usually suffer from active site blocking, pronounced intrinsic impedance, and inevitable catalyst shedding at high current density. Herein, a novel in-situ construction strategy has been developed to grow N-doped carbon (NC) enwrapped Co/CoP nanosheets directly onto Co foam (abbreviated as CoF) through a three-step transformation of Co to Co(OH) 2 to Co-Metal-Organic Framework (Co-MOF) to Co/CoP/NC. In the entire preparation process, Co metal is only provided by the CoF substrate without external metal sources. Such in-situ construction yields tight contact at the interface of the heterogeneous catalyst, leading to much-reduced impedance and boundary vacancy, while the porous nitrogen-doped carbon backbone further endows the catalyst with the exposure of massive active sites, promotes mass transfer, and possesses high electrical conductivity. The Co/CoP/NC/CoF requires overpotentials of only 64 mV/263 mV@10 mA cm -2 and 414 mV/481 mV@400 mA cm -2 for both HER/OER in 1.0 M KOH, respectively. Remarkably, it reveals excellent OWS catalytic activity with a cell voltage of 1.56 V@10 mA cm -2 and 1.88 V@200 mA cm -2 . Transition metal selenides (TMSes) with cubic pyrite-type crystal structure have been widely explored as electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER), but the insufficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance hinders the application of overall water splitting. Herein, we designed and prepared a Mo doped NiSe 2 -CoSe 2 heterostructure aerogel as bifunctional electrocatalyst via facile spontaneous gelation and selenium vapor deposition. The active sites on the heterointerface possessed desirable Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption, leading to better HER performance than single NiSe 2 or CoSe 2 . Moreover, systematically experimental research and density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that fine regulated Mo doping improved the electropositivity of heterostructure, promoting the nucleophilic adsorption of water molecule. Benefit from those improvements, the optimal Mo doped NiSe 2 -CoSe 2 aerogel exhibited an extremely low overpotential of 57 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm -2 for HER with a small Tafel slope value of 38 mV·dec -1 . Meanwhile, Mo doping provided higher electron transfer efficiency and better adsorptive property toward reaction intermediate in anodic reaction, resulting in low overpotential of 270 mV at the current density of 100 mA·cm -2 for OER with good electrocatalytic stability. The growing increasing occurrence of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in wastewater has raised concerns about its potential impact on the environment. Nevertheless, the impact of PFOA at environmentally relevant level on the formation of aerobic granular sludge (AGS) is still a 'black box'. This study thus aims to fill this gap by comprehensive investigation of sludge properties, reactor performance and microbial community during the formation of AGS. It was found that 0.1 mg/L PFOA delayed the formation of AGS, causing relatively lower proportion of large size AGS at the end of operation process. Interestingly, the microorganisms contribute to the reactor's tolerance to PFOA by secreting more extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) to slow or block the entry of toxic substances into the cells. During the granule maturation period, the reactor nutrient removal especially chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total nitrogen (TN) were affected by PFOA, decreasing the corresponding removal efficiencies to ∼81.2% and ∼69.8%, respectively. Microbial analysis further revealed that PFOA decreased the abundances of Plasticicumulans, Thauera, Flavobacterium and Cytophagaceae&#95;uncultured, but it has promoted Zoogloea and Betaproteobacteria&#95;unclassified growth, which maintained the structures and functions of AGS. The regulation of the multi-dimensional interface plays an important role in optimizing the electron transport and gas mass transfer during catalysis, which is conducive to promoting the electrocatalytic process. Herein, a self-supporting electrode has been developed with the multistage interface within 3D Ni 2 P@C nanospheres/nanoflowers arrays derived from metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as template skeletons and precursors. The constructed nanosphere interface protrudes outward to optimize the contact with the electrolyte while the nanoflower lamellar connection promotes rapid electron transfer and exposes more active sites, and accelerates the gas diffusion with the abundant interspace channels. According to theoretical calculation, the synergistic effect between Ni 2 P and C is conducive to the optimal adsorption and desorption of H*, thus contributing to the improvement of catalytic kinetics. With the optimized growth times assembled onto nickel foam substrates, the Ni 2 P@C-12 h requires overpotentials of only 69 mV and 205 mV to drive the current density of 10 mA cm -2 towards hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), respectively. And it reveals an ultralow cell voltage of 1.55 V at 10 mA cm -2 to achieve overall water splitting (OWS). In addition, the stability of the Ni 2 P@C/NF electrocatalyst emerges as prominent long-term stability, which is attributed to the carbonaceous nanosphere anchors on the substrate to minimize the possibility of oxidation of the catalyst surface. Brain lesion segmentation provides a valuable tool for clinical diagnosis and research, and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have achieved unprecedented success in the segmentation task. Data augmentation is a widely used strategy to improve the training of CNNs. In particular, data augmentation approaches that mix pairs of annotated training images have been developed. These methods are easy to implement and have achieved promising results in various image processing tasks. However, existing data augmentation approaches based on image mixing are not designed for brain lesions and may not perform well for brain lesion segmentation. Thus, the design of this type of simple data augmentation method for brain lesion segmentation is still an open problem. In this work, we propose a simple yet effective data augmentation approach, dubbed as CarveMix, for CNN-based brain lesion segmentation. Like other mixing-based methods, CarveMix stochastically combines two existing annotated images (annotated for brain lesions only) to obtain new labeled samples. To make our method more suitable for brain lesion segmentation, CarveMix is lesion-aware, where the image combination is performed with a focus on the lesions and preserves the lesion information. Specifically, from one annotated image we carve a region of interest (ROI) according to the lesion location and geometry with a variable ROI size. The carved ROI then replaces the corresponding voxels in a second annotated image to synthesize new labeled images for network training, and additional harmonization steps are applied for heterogeneous data where the two annotated images can originate from different sources. Besides, we further propose to model the mass effect that is unique to whole brain tumor segmentation during image mixing. To evaluate the proposed method, experiments were performed on multiple publicly available or private datasets, and the results show that our method improves the accuracy of brain lesion segmentation. The piezo-/photocatalytic effects of ZnO have been in the limelight because of their great potential in environmental remediation and energy conversion. However, the poor recyclability of the suspended catalysts can cause inevitable secondary pollution, which is one of the major issues that limit the practical application of these materials. To address this problem, a magnetically retrievable Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @ZnO nanocomposite was designed and successfully synthesized by multi-step reactions. The ZnO nanorods were vertically grown on the surface of the magnetic Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 microspheres, while SiO 2 served as an insulator to protect the inner core and to inhibit charge transfer across the core/shell interface. The Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @ZnO nanocomposite can be easily collected and separated by using a magnetic field. Along with the good recyclability, the material also exhibited high efficiencies in piezocatalytic, photocatalytic and piezo-photocatalytic dye degradation processes. The rate constant of piezo-photocatalysis reached 95.9 × 10 -3 min -1 , which was 2.2 and 6.1 times that of the individual piezocatalysis and photocatalysis, respectively. The present result confirmed the existence of a synergetic effect between piezo- and photocatalytic processes. Although both nonrapid eye movement (NREM) sleep loss and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep loss exacerbate Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression, they exert different effects. Microglial activation can be beneficial or detrimental to AD patients under different conditions. However, few studies have investigated which sleep stage is the main regulator of microglial activation or the downstream effects of this activation. We aimed to explore the roles of different sleep phases in microglial activation and to investigate the possible effect of microglial activation on AD pathology. In this study, thirty-six 6-month-old APP/PS1 mice were equally divided into 3 groups: the stress control (SC), total sleep deprivation (TSD), and REM deprivation (RD) groups. All mice underwent a 48-hour intervention before their spatial memory was assessed using a Morris water maze (MWM). Then, microglial morphology, activation- and synapse-related protein expression, and inflammatory cytokine and amyloid β (Aβ) levels in hippocampal tissues were measured. We found that the RD and TSD groups exhibited worse spatial memory in the MWM tests. In addition, the RD and TSD groups showed greater microglial activation, higher inflammatory cytokine levels, lower synapse-related protein expression and more severe Aβ accumulation than the SC group, but there were no significant differences between the RD and TSD groups. This study demonstrates that disturbance of REM sleep may activate microglia in APP/PS1 mice. The superfamily Eriophyoidea includes >5000 named species of very small phytophagous mites. As for many groups of phytophagous invertebrates, factors responsible for diversification of eriophyoid mites are unclear. Here, we used an inferred phylogeny of 566 putative species of eriophyoid mites based on fragments of two mitochondrial genes and two nuclear genes to examine factors associated with their massive evolutionary diversification through time. Our dated phylogeny indicates a Carboniferous origin for gymnosperm-associated Eriophyoidea with subsequent diversification involving multiple host shifts to angiosperms-first to dicots, and then to monocots or shifts back to gymnosperms-beginning in the Cretaceous period when angiosperms diverged. Speciation rates increased more rapidly in the Eriophyidae + Diptilomiopidae (mostly infesting angiosperms) than in the Phytoptidae (mostly infesting gymnosperms). Phylogenetic signal, speciation rates, dispersal and vicariance results combined with inferred topologies show that hosts played a key role in the evolution of eriophyoid mites. Speciation constrained by hosts was probably the main driver behind eriophyoid mite diversification worldwide. We demonstrate monophyly of the Eriophyoidea, whereas all three families, most subfamilies, tribes, and most genera are not monophyletic. Antibiotics are emerging pollutants largely considered to have a lower risk based on persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic (PBT) risk assessments. However, an increasing number of studies have illustrated that antibiotics are responsible for the global increase in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which suggests that the risk of antibiotics has been largely underestimated by using PBT risk assessment. Here, we designed an integrated innovation risk assessment framework of persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic, and resistance (PBTR) that accounts for antibiotic resistance to better represent the antibiotic environmental risk. This novel antibiotic risk assessment framework was further verified via application to 39 target antibiotics in the 23 drinking water sources of the lower Yangtze River (LYR), China, during the normal and flood seasons. In contrast with the PBT assessment, single toxicity assessment and single resistance assessment, in the PBTR assessment, 7 of 39 target antibiotics with bacterial insensitivity were observed to represent a more prominent risk, as were the sites sampled during the flood season with low concentrations but high pollution loads, which confirmed that the sensitivity of PBTR risk assessment was instructive. The PBTR risk assessment for the screened priority antibiotics contributes not only representative data but also an innovative approach for identifying resistance risks. Using the positive matrix factorization (PMF) model, the sources of priority antibiotics can be predicted and thus supported the corresponding policy. Challenges at the intersection of water conservation, land protection, food security, and economic growth cross industrial boundaries, and also involve synergies with multiple policy domains. Despite this, little is known about how system heterogeneity affects water, land, and food (WLF) consumption performance at a sectoral level. This study integrates superedge analysis with a flow interaction network, elasticity theory, and utility analysis to detect the WLF nexus with regard to resource efficiency gains. Three indicators (intra-sector recycling efficiency, trans-sector allocation efficiency, and symbiosis of system structure) are proposed as mechanisms by which to quantitatively explore intra-sector and trans-sector nexus, and formulate improvement strategies for sectoral WLF savings. The results show synergies between recycling efficiency and water/food productivity. Manufacturing servitization and agricultural industrialization can drive more efficient WLF allocation by minimizing resource misallocation, whilst positive industrial ecology enhances WLF circulation and facilitates reducing resource undue competition. In addition, the ability of industries to save resources under the nexus is examined. Approximately 93% of sectors suffer from resource waste, misallocation, and undue competition. Drug delivery based on abnormal features of the tumor microenvironment (TME) has attracted considerable interest worldwide. In this study, we proposed an applicable strategy to increase the reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibit glutathione (GSH), in an effort to amplify oxidative damage in prostate cancer cells. Specifically, we developed dual-responsive supramolecular self-assembled nanoparticles (NPs) based on polymerized methacrylic acid (MA) and polymerized poly(ethylene glycol) dimethyl acrylate-modified β-cyclodextrin (CD) with ferrocene (Fc)-connected (S) (+)-camptothecin (CPT) (designated as MA-CD/Fc-CPT NPs). The as-prepared negatively charged supramolecular NPs can be taken up by tumor cells successfully owing to their reversible negative-to-positive charge transition capacity at acidic pH. The supramolecular NPs increased ROS generation and decreased GSH to amplify oxidative stress and improve the therapeutic effect of chemotherapy. As expected, MA-CD/Fc-CPT NPs displayed good drug delivery capabilities to tumor cells or tissues. MA-CD/Fc-CPT NPs also inhibited cancer cell proliferation in both the cells and tissues. This result was partially due to increased ROS generation and decreased GSH, which contributed to more pronounced oxidative stress. The as-prepared supramolecular NPs displayed great biosafety to normal tissues. Although photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been well-known as a promising anti-tumor treatment, its limited therapeutic efficiency remains to be a large challenge. In this study, a carrier free nanomedicine (designated as PyroMor) is developed to greatly initiate cell apoptosis and paraptosis for synergistic cancer therapy. Pyropheophorbide-a (Pyro) and morusin (Mor) are capable of self-assembling into PyroMor, which has been testified to have superiority of improved stability, cellular internalization, and biocompatibility. Because of efficient cellular uptake behavior, PyroMor could induce cellular paraptosis by Mor-caused vacuolation in mitochondria, ER and cytoplasm, contributing to improving the PDT efficacy of Pyro. Therefore, self-delivery PyroMor is able to accomplish synergistic anti-tumor effect via stimulation of cell apoptosis as well as paraptosis. In addition, in vivo studies also clarify that PyroMor presents passive tumor targeting delivery, leading to robust repressive effect on tumor proliferation with negligible systemic toxicity. Growing evidences have demonstrated that multiple TRIM (tripartite motif) proteins exert critical roles in host defense against different microbial pathogens. Although mammalian TRIM21 has been reported to function as an important regulatory factor in antiviral immune and inflammatory response, the role of fish TRIM21 against virus infection still remains largely unknown. In the present study, we investigated the characteristics of TRIM21 gene (EcTRIM21) from orange spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides). The full-length EcTRIM21 cDNA encoded a 557 amino acid peptide with 92.1% and 31.14% identity with giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) and human (Homo sapiens), respectively. EcTRIM21 contained four conserved domains, including RING, B-Box, PRY and SPRY domain. EcTRIM21 expression was significantly up-regulated in response to Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV) and red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus (RGNNV) infection, suggesting that EcTRIM21 might be involved in host defense against fish virus infections. Subcellular localization showed that EcTRIM21 were distributed in the cytoplasm in a punctate manner. Overexpression of EcTRIM21 in vitro significantly inhibited RGNNV and SGIV replication, as evidenced by the decreased severity of cytopathic effect (CPE) and the reduced expression levels of viral core genes. Consistently, knockdown of EcTRIM21 by small interfering RNA (siRNA) promoted the replication of RGNNV and SGIV in vitro. Furthermore, EcTRIM21 overexpression increased both interferon (IFN) and interferon stimulated response element (ISRE) promoter activities. In addition, the transcription levels of IFN signaling related molecules were positively regulated by EcTRIM21 overexpression. Hypothesis: The practical applications of boron nitride nanosheet (BNNS) are dramatically limited by the harsh exfoliation and surface functionalization conditions due to the hydrophobic and chemically inert nature. This issue can be improved by selecting efficient modifiers with hydrophilic groups., Experiments: A green and scalable amino acid-assisted ball milling method is presented to exfoliate and functionalize BNNS simultaneously. The different interactions between BNNS and four amino acids (tryptophan (Trp), phenylalanine (Phe), arginine (Arg), lysine (Lys)) are thoroughly investigated to rationalize the thermal and mechanical properties of their corresponding epoxy (EP) composites., Finding: Trp and Phe display higher functionalization degree and dispersibility of BNNS than Arg and Lys thanks to the additional π-π interactions between the aromatic groups and BNNS. Moreover, both BNNS-Trp/EP and BNNS-Phe/EP exhibit higher cross-plane thermal conductivity of 2.1 and 1.96 W m -1 K -1 at 30 wt% filler loading. In addition, the mechanical strengths of all these amino acids functionalized BNNS filled epoxy composites are significantly enhanced due to stronger interfacial interactions between fillers and epoxy matrix. Previous data suggested that activation of endocannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) was necessary for the orexigenic effect of Ghrelin in rodents, but the information is limited in teleosts. To investigate the feeding regulation pathway of Ghrelin and CB1 in Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii), this study first identified the Ghrelin (345 bp, complete coding sequence) and Ghrelin receptor (GHSR, 500 bp, partial coding sequence) sequences, and then detected their tissue distribution patterns, which showed that Ghrelin is mainly distribution in peripheral tissues, while GSHR is mainly in different brain divisions. Besides, the qPCR before and after feeding showed that the mRNA expressions of Ghrelin and GHSR were inhibited after feeding in telencephalon, diencephalon and mesencephalon. Subsequently, the food intake and appetite factor expressions were measured by i.c.v. co-injection of Ghrelin and GSHR antagonist. The results showed that Ghrelin promoted the food intake of Siberian sturgeon, which was reversed by its receptor antagonist. Besides, i.c.v. injection of Ghrelin decreased telencephalon CART expression while increased NPY expression in the three brain regions. In addition, to further explore the relationship of Ghrelin and CB1 signal regulating feeding, the co-injection of Ghrelin and CB1 antagonists was performed. The results showed that AM6545 (CB1 peripheral restricted antagonist) failed to affect the orexigenic effect of Ghrelin and the expression pattern of NPY mRNA in the telencephalon. While in the diencephalon, the increase of food intake and NPY mRNA expression induced by Ghrelin was completely reversed by Rimonabant (CB1 global antagonist). These results indicate Ghrelin-GSHR pathway promotes the food intake of Siberian sturgeon by inducing the expression of NPY in the diencephalon, and the stimulating effect will be reversed by cannabinoid receptor antagonism. Previous studies have demonstrated that the brain functional modular organization, which is a fundamental feature of the human brain, would change along the adult lifespan. However, these studies assumed that each brain region belonged to a single functional module, although there has been convergent evidence supporting the existence of overlap among functional modules in the human brain. To reveal how age affects the overlapping functional modular organization, this study applied an overlapping module detection algorithm that requires no prior knowledge to the resting-state fMRI data of a healthy cohort (N = 570) aged from 18 to 88 years old. A series of measures were derived to delineate the characteristics of the overlapping modular structure and the set of overlapping nodes (brain regions participating in two or more modules) identified from each participant. Age-related regression analyses on these measures found linearly decreasing trends in the overlapping modularity and the modular similarity. The number of overlapping nodes was found increasing with age, but the increment was not even over the brain. In addition, across the adult lifespan and within each age group, the nodal overlapping probability consistently had positive correlations with both functional gradient and flexibility. Further, by correlation and mediation analyses, we showed that the influence of age on memory-related cognitive performance might be explained by the change in the overlapping functional modular organization. Together, our results revealed age-related decreased segregation from the brain functional overlapping modular organization perspective, which could provide new insight into the adult lifespan changes in brain function and the influence of such changes on cognitive performance., (Copyright © 2022. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious microvascular complications of diabetes and an important cause of blindness in adults. In previous study, we found that miR-320a alleviated the damage of muller cells in DR. In this study, we mainly explored the mechanism of lncRNA MALAT1 on retinal angiogenesis in DR by regulating miR-320a/HIF-1α. The expression of MALAT1 and miR-320a was detected by RT-qPCR, and the expression of HIF-1α was detected by Western blot. The superoxide anion level, invasion, angiogenesis, and vascular permeability of mouse retinal microvascular endothelial cells (MRMECs) co-cultured with muller cells were evaluated by dihydroethidium, transwell, angiogenesis and immunofluorescence assay. In order to analyze the targeting relationship between miR-320a and MALAT1 or HIF-1α, we performed dual luciferase reporter gene, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pulldown experiments. The results should that MALAT1 and HIF-1α were highly expressed and miR-320a was low expressed in high glucose (HG)-induced muller cells, and MALAT1 could competitively bind with HIF-1α. Knocking down miR-320a inhibited MRMECs invasion angiogenesis, and vascular permeability by targeting miR-320a. Overexpression of miR-320a down regulated HIF-1α and inhibited the invasion, angiogenesis, and vascular permeability of MRMECs. This work presents the state-of-the-art review of investigations related to the adsorption process, adsorption models, experimental adsorption results, and influencing factors, considering the main contaminants produced by underground coal gasification (UCG) technology as adsorbates and the various rocks and soils surrounding the UCG cavity as adsorbents. Based on the literature reviewed, it is found that claystone, coal, coal char, shale, and clay materials present a good prospect for effective phenol adsorption; coal, coal char, shale, and clay materials can also remove benzene and some heavy metals from aqueous solutions. However, their performance varies under the effect of the influencing factors, such as the initial concentration of adsorbates in solution, the pH of the solution, the temperature and contact time controlled in the adsorption process, and the adsorbent dosage. A preliminary assessment of the potential of rocks and soils to act as natural buffers in UCG application is provided. The impact of UCG process on the adsorption of contaminants on the surrounding strata together with the major challenges and future perspectives are highlighted and outlined, to identify knowledge deficiencies regarding the retardation of UCG contaminants using the natural buffers. It is of great significance to understand the role of carrier in piezocatalysis of composites by studying the separation mode of carriers under dynamic polarization field. Herein, the separation and migration pathways of carriers under piezoelectric field are investigated by synthesizing heterojunctions with Bi 2 WO 6 (BWO) nanosheets grown vertically on g-C 3 N 4 (CN) coated ZnO nanorods and directly on ZnO. Compared with the photocatalysis, the piezocatalytic efficiency of Rhodamine B (RhB) by BWO/ZnO is significantly increased to 0.121 min -1 , which indicated the polarization field promotes band tilt and Z-scheme formation. After introducing the CN interlayer, the piezocatalytic efficiency of BWO/CN/ZnO is further improved (0.217 min -1 ), which can be attributed to the unique core-shell structure with Z-scheme heterojunctions. This unique structure provides more active sites and excited carrier concentration, the intermediate layer CN also reduces the direct contact and recombination of electrons and holes controlled by polarization potential at the interface between BWO and ZnO. Mn-doped perovskite nanocrystals have promised new optoelectronic applications due to their unique material properties. In the present study, Mn-doped perovskite nanocrystalline films were prepared in situ in a polymer matrix. The Mn-doped perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) had good crystallinity and uniform size/spatial distributions in the polymer film. Bright dual-color emission and the long lifetime of the excited state of the dopant were observed from the host exciton and the Mn 2+ dopant, respectively. Furthermore, magnetism was observed in the optimal Mn 2+ concentration, implying that magnetic coupling was achieved in the Mn-doped perovskite lattice. The Mn-doped perovskite films also showed superior stability against moisture. To demonstrate the practicality of this composite film, a white light emitting device was fabricated by combining a single composite film with a blue light emitting diode; the device showed a high-quality white light emission, and the Commission Internationale De L'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinate of the white light emitting diode (WLED) (0.361, 0.326) was close to the optimal white color index. In this single-layer WLED, self-absorption among the luminous multilayers in traditional white light emitting diodes can be avoided. Objective: Pulmonary vascular remodeling due to excessive growth factor production and pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) proliferation is the hallmark feature of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Recent studies suggest that miR-663 is a potent modulator for tumorigenesis and atherosclerosis. However, whether miR-663 involves in pulmonary vascular remodeling is still unclear., Methods and Results: By using quantitative RT-PCR, we found that miR-663 was highly expressed in normal human PASMCs. In contrast, circulating level of miR-663 dramatically reduced in PAH patients. In addition, in situ hybridization showed that expression of miR-663 was decreased in pulmonary vasculature of PAH patients. Furthermore, MTT and cell scratch-wound assay showed that transfection of miR-663 mimics significantly inhibited platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)-induced PASMCs proliferation and migration, while knockdown of miR-663 expression enhanced these effects. Mechanistically, dual-luciferase reporter assay revealed that miR-663 directly targets the 3'UTR of TGF-β1. Moreover, western blots and ELISA results showed that miR-663 decreased PDGF-induced TGF-β1 expression and secretion, which in turn suppressed the downstream smad2/3 phosphorylation and collagen I expression. Finally, intratracheal instillation of adeno-miR-663 efficiently inhibited the development of pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular hypertrophy in monocrotaline (MCT)-induced PAH rat models., Conclusion: These results indicate that miR-663 is a potential biomarker for PAH. MiR-663 decreases PDGF-BB-induced PASMCs proliferation and prevents pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular hypertrophy in MCT-PAH by targeting TGF-β1/smad2/3 signaling. Forest soil acidification caused by acid deposition is a serious threat to the forest ecosystem. To investigate the liming effects of biomass ash (BA) and alkaline slag (AS) on the acidic topsoil and subsoil, a three-year field experiment under artificial Masson pine was conducted at Langxi, Anhui province in Southern China. The surface application of BA and AS significantly increased the soil pH, and thus decreased exchangeable acidity and active Al in the topsoil. Soil exchangeable Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ in topsoil were significantly increased by the surface application of BA and AS, while an increase in soil exchangeable K + was only observed in BA treatments. The soil acidity and active Al in subsoil were decreased by the surface application of AS. Compared with the control, soluble monomeric and exchangeable Al in the subsoil was decreased by 38.0% and 29.4% after 3 years of AS surface application. There was a minimal effect on soluble monomeric and exchangeable Al after the application of BA. The soil exchangeable Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ in the subsoil increased respectively by 54% and 141% after surface application of 10 t ha -1 AS. The decrease of soil active Al and increase of base cations in subsoil were mainly attributed to the high migration capacity of base cations in AS. In conclusion, the effect of surface application of AS was superior to BA in ameliorating soil acidity and alleviating soil Al toxicity in the subsoil of this Ultisol., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Ltd. Ryanodine receptors (RyRs) are the targets of diamide insecticides, which have been identified and characterized in a dozen insect pests of Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera and Coleoptera, but limited attention has been paid to the RyR in parasitoid natural enemies. Without this knowledge, it will hinder our effective and efficient application using both parasitoid natural enemies and diamide insecticides simultaneously in the integrated pest management (IPM). In this study, the full-length cDNA of RyR was cloned from Encarsia formosa (EfRyR), a parasitic wasp used worldwide for the biological control of whitefly. Its expression profile was examined in various tissues of E. formosa adults. The toxicities of four diamide insecticides to E. formosa were measured, and then the expression profile of EfRyR after 12 h and 24 h exposure to the LC 50 dosages of diamide insecticides was investigated. The results showed that the full-length cDNA of EfRyR was 16, 778 bp including a 15, 345 bp open reading frame, and two alternative splice (AS) sites. Comparing to its expression in the abdomen, EfRyR was highly expressed in the head (11.9-fold) and the thorax (3.7-fold). The toxicities of four dimide insecticides against E. formosa from low to high were chlorantraniliprole (LC 50  = 367.84 mg L -1 ), cyantraniliprole (221.72 mg L -1 ), cyclaniliprole (51.77 mg L -1 ), and tetrachlorantraniliprole (8.35 mg L -1 ). The expressions of EfRyR and its variants with AS were significantly increased after E. formosa adults were exposed to different diamide insecticides. Groundwater recharge sources analysis, including identification of the recharge sources and calculation of the mixing ratios, is of great importance for hydrogeological research and water resources management. In this research, a new approach, multivariate mixing and mass-balance calculations (M3) model combined with MIX calculations (M3-MIX calculations), was proposed to overcome shortcomings and limitations of existing methods and to accurately describe aquifer systems with more than three groundwater sources and get more accurate mixing ratios. A synthetic case with random sources were applied to evaluate the effectiveness of M3-MIX calculations. The results of both mixing ratios and composition of recharge sources show that M3-MIX calculations is superior to traditional methods such as least squares, and is also superior to the results obtained by using M3 model or MIX calculations alone. The approach is then applied to analyze groundwater recharge sources of the Huangshui River groundwater reservoir, China. Three recharge sources were calculated based on M3-MIX calculations: brackish groundwater affected by seawater intrusion, atmospheric precipitation, and groundwater from upstream affected by agricultural activities. The mixing ratios of the three recharge sources are 3.3%, 19.3%, and 77.4%, respectively. In addition, ion concentrations deviate from the mixing line indicates that hydrochemical processes, such as mineral dissolution/precipitation and ion exchange processes, may occur in the study area. The results of this work indicate that M3-MIX calculations has the potential to provide the accurate understanding of groundwater recharge, and thus providing useful information for the exploitation, utilization, and protection of groundwater in unsaturated and saturated zones., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
